Genesis (An OU Warstory)

Once upon a time I had gotten back into OU. Most of the time, I'm an RU battler. But, I figured I'd better do some OU to balance it out. After seeing the big threats, I constructed this team. Sadly, my first few opponents ran (guess they have Pidgeyphobia) but the third one was a great back-and-forth match, despite my somewhat shaky team.

There are obviously some improvements to make, but I think the team is in an acceptable state right now. I have a Deoxys-D Spiker, a CB Terrakion, a Scarf Jirachi, a Scarf Genesect, a Special Landorus and a Standard Life Orb Starmie. There are some weaknesses, but overall it isn't too bad.

Pretty Standard Rain Team. The Tornadus could be a problem since none of my guys are really that good at taking Hurricanes, but as long as Genesect comes in safely I'm good. Latios could also be annoying, but Jirachi can handle it with the Scarfed Iron Head or Ice Punch. So, if i take out Tornadus, I should be able to win.

BATTLE, START!

assballs sent out Politoed!
Serenity sent out Terrakion!
The foe's Politoed's Drizzle made it rain!

Of course he'd lead with Poli. Everyone does. However, a CB Close Combat is sure to do a lot, so I go straight for a big killshot. A scarf-toed would suck, but that's a risk I'll take.

Turn 1
Terrakion used Close Combat!
The foe's Politoed lost 100% of its health!
Terrakion's Defense fell!
Terrakion's Special Defense fell!
The foe's Politoed fainted!
assballs sent out Toxicroak!

Woo, early 5-6 lead. The Toxicroak scares me, as a CC will leave me open to a Drain Punch knockout, so of course I'll switch. Starmie should be a solid switch, as Drain Punch should do a tiny amount.

Turn 2
Serenity called Terrakion back!
Serenity sent out Starmie!
The foe's Toxicroak used Substitute!
The foe's Toxicroak put in a substitute!
The foe's Toxicroak lost 25% of its health!
The foe's Toxicroak's Dry Skin heals it!
The foe's Toxicroak restored HP using its Black Sludge!

Damn it, why didn't I think of that. Now I'm at the mercy of the Sucker Punch. Eh, maybe he doesn't have it.

Turn 3
Starmie used Thunderbolt!
The foe's Toxicroak's substitute faded!
Starmie lost some of its HP!
The foe's Toxicroak used Poison Jab!
Starmie lost 60% of its health!
The foe's Toxicroak's Dry Skin heals it!

Okay, so he doesn't have it. Good to know. I think I'll leave Starmie in to die, as a safe switch is more valuable.

Turn 4
Starmie used Thunderbolt!
The foe's Toxicroak lost 49% of its health!
The foe's Toxicroak was paralyzed! It may be unable to move!
Starmie lost some of its HP!
The foe's Toxicroak is paralyzed! It can't move!
The foe's Toxicroak's Dry Skin heals it!
The foe's Toxicroak restored HP using its Black Sludge!

Yay, hax. Starmie is pulling his weight, but LO is putting my HP down a lot. I'm about to die, but I'll stay in, once again aiming for the safe switch.

Turn 5
Starmie used Ice Beam!
The foe's Toxicroak lost 44% of its health!
Starmie lost some of its HP!

Starmie is staying alive much longer than it should be. One final move, then it'll be dead.

Turn 6
Starmie used Ice Beam!
The foe's Toxicroak's substitute faded!
Starmie lost some of its HP!
Starmie fainted!
The foe's Toxicroak used Bulk Up!
The foe's Toxicroak's Attack rose!
The foe's Toxicroak's Defense rose!
The foe's Toxicroak's Dry Skin heals it!
The foe's Toxicroak restored HP using its Black Sludge!
Serenity sent out Landorus!

So, that is the end of Starmie. However, Toxicroak is weakened enough that Landorus can come in for an easy revenge kill with Psychic. A Sucker Punch-less Toxicroak can do nothing to stop this.

Turn 7
Landorus used Psychic!
It's super effective! The foe's Toxicroak lost 38% of its health!
The foe's Toxicroak fainted!
assballs sent out Latios!

Latios... that's a problem. He outspeeds Landorus, and I know 100% that Surf takes me out. Better switch.

Turn 8
Serenity called Landorus back!
Serenity sent out Jirachi!
The foe's Latios used Surf!
Jirachi lost 55% of its health!

My Scarfrachi can easily take a surf, and do lots of damage back with Ice Punch. Scarfrachi is great for suprise factor, as everyone suspects Specially Defensive...

Turn 9
The foe's Latios used Surf!
A critical hit! Jirachi lost 45% of its health!
Jirachi fainted!
Serenity sent out Genesect!
Genesect's Download raised its Attack!

...Unless they're scarfed too! The thought should have crossed my mind, but that was a moment of stupidness. Oh well, Genesect can come in for the revenge kill.

Turn 10
Genesect used U-turn!
It's super effective! The foe's Latios lost 100% of its health!
The foe's Latios fainted!
Serenity called Genesect back!
Serenity sent out Landorus!
assballs sent out Tornadus-Therian!

As I expected, Latios cannot stand up to a STAB U-Turn. Here comes the ultimate test- can Landorus take a Hurricane from Tornadus? This could decide a large part of the game. Drum roll, please...

Turn 11
The foe's Tornadus-Therian used Hurricane!
Landorus lost 98% of its health!
The foe's Tornadus-Therian lost some of its HP!
Landorus used Hidden Power!
It's super effective! The foe's Tornadus-Therian lost 79% of its health!
Landorus lost some of its HP!
Landorus fainted!
Serenity sent out Genesect!
Genesect's Download raised its Attack!

YES. Thank you, Landorus. Tanking that like a man. That damage leaves him open to a Genesect revenge kill with U-Turn.

Turn 12
Genesect used U-turn!
It's not very effective... The foe's Tornadus-Therian lost 11% of its health!
The foe's Tornadus-Therian fainted!
Serenity called Genesect back!
Serenity sent out Deoxys-Defense!
Deoxys-Defense is exerting its pressure!
assballs sent out Jirachi!

Sorry Deo-D, gotta Sac you. I'm gonna use Deo to get a smidgen of damage before Terrakion can revenge kill.

Turn 13
Deoxys-Defense used Night Shade!
The foe's Jirachi lost 25% of its health!
The foe's Jirachi used Thunder Wave!
Deoxys-Defense was paralyzed! It may be unable to move!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!

Ok, so that T-Wave confirmed it's specially defensive. That means it's not scarfed. So, I will leave in Deoxys to allow a safe switch.

Turn 14
The foe's Jirachi used Iron Head!
Deoxys-Defense lost 30% of its health!
Deoxys-Defense is paralyzed! It can't move!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!
Deoxys-Defense restored HP using its Leftovers!

Typical Jirachi. You can NEVER hit it. Never in a bajillion decades.

Turn 15
The foe's Jirachi used Iron Head!
Deoxys-Defense lost 27% of its health!
Deoxys-Defense used Night Shade!
The foe's Jirachi lost 25% of its health!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!
Deoxys-Defense restored HP using its Leftovers!

Yay, more damage. That puts it in certain kill range of Terrakion.

Turn 16
The foe's Jirachi used Iron Head!
Deoxys-Defense lost 30% of its health!
Deoxys-Defense is paralyzed! It can't move!
Deoxys-Defense restored HP using its Leftovers!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!

Turn 17
The foe's Jirachi used Iron Head!
Deoxys-Defense lost 31% of its health!
Deoxys-Defense is paralyzed! It can't move!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!
Deoxys-Defense restored HP using its Leftovers!

Turn 18
The foe's Jirachi used Iron Head!
A critical hit! Deoxys-Defense lost 8% of its health!
Deoxys-Defense fainted!
The foe's Jirachi restored HP using its Leftovers!
Serenity sent out Terrakion!

I kinda skipped those cause it's just Jirachi being Jirachi. But anyways, Terrakion is gonna come in and revenge it with a CC. Or at least, I hope it is...

Turn 19
Terrakion used Close Combat!
A critical hit! The foe's Jirachi lost 86% of its health!
Terrakion's Defense fell!
Terrakion's Special Defense fell!
The foe's Jirachi fainted!
assballs sent out Tentacruel!

Man, that hax sucked for him. After a calc, I determined that a 252/0 Jirachi can take a CC at 86%, so the crit did matter. Sorry, man. Anyways, I have the game now. Genesect can take a Scald, and after a CC Thunderbolt is a 2HKO. So that is how this will wind down.

Turn 20
Terrakion used Close Combat!
It's not very effective... The foe's Tentacruel lost 40% of its health!
Terrakion's Defense fell!
Terrakion's Special Defense fell!
The foe's Tentacruel used Scald!
It's super effective! Terrakion lost 100% of its health!
Terrakion fainted!
The foe's Tentacruel's Rain Dish heals it!
The foe's Tentacruel restored HP using its Black Sludge!
Serenity sent out Genesect!
Genesect's Download raised its Attack!

As I predicted, Scald annhialates Terrakion. But never fear, Genesect is here!

Turn 21
Genesect used Thunderbolt!
It's super effective! The foe's Tentacruel lost 49% of its health!
The foe's Tentacruel used Scald!
Genesect lost 44% of its health!
The foe's Tentacruel's Rain Dish heals it!
The foe's Tentacruel restored HP using its Black Sludge!

Genesect comes through with his third kill! Or, he will, after the next turn.

Turn 22
Serenity: gg
Genesect used Thunderbolt!
It's super effective! The foe's Tentacruel lost 35% of its health!
The foe's Tentacruel fainted!
Serenity won the battle!
Ladder updating...
assballs's rating: 1492 → 1474
(-18 for losing)
Serenity's rating: 1479 → 1585
(+106 for winning)

FINAL SCORE- 1-0.

Props- Genesect getting a hat-trick.
Landorus surviving a Hurricane
First-turn kill on Poli
Crit on Jirachi

Cons- My Jirachi doing squat
Deoxys being Fodder

Thanks for the match! This is my first warstory, so tell me how I can improve. Thanks!

Make it a bit more colourful to read, do your comments in a different colour, and maybe add pictures of the 'mons, look at some successful war stories, they're interesting to read because they keep your attention.

Commentary was sparse and formatting was unappealing. Sorry but this needs some serious improvement.
