[SET]
name: Offensive Calm Mind
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Dragon Pulse
move 3: Aura Sphere / Earth Power
move 4: Thunder / Shadow Ball / Thunder Wave
item: Griseous Orb
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Unlike the standard SubCM set, this set focuses more on Speed and catching your opponent off-guard. While initially this set seems outclassed by Arceus-Ghost, using it allows you to use another Arceus forme and it flies over both Spikes and Toxic Spikes, allowing it to switch in more freely due to the popularity of Spikes in Ubers.

Dragon Pulse is a powerful STAB move further boosted by Griseous Orb and has good neutral coverage in Ubers. Thanks to Giratina-O's Dragon typing, Dragon Pulse allows it to OHKO most of the Dragon-types in the tier after just Stealth Rock damage, including Palkia, Kyurem-W, Rayquaza, and Zekrom, something standard Calm Mind Arceus-Ghost can not accomplish. Aura Sphere is generally an awesome coverage move, smashing Ferrothorn, Darkrai, Tyranitar, Heatran, Arceus, and Dialga to pieces. Keep in mind that all of them are 2HKOed at best if you are unboosted. If you are worried about more obscure threats such as Jirachi and Heatran blocking your sweep, Earth Power can be used. It also hits Blaziken and Arceus-Electric for super effective damage but Blaziken normally crumbles to Dragon Pulse anyway.

Thunder hits Ho-Oh, Skarmory, and Kyogre, all of which would wall Giratina-O otherwise. If you decide to go with Thunder, Kyogre's rain support is very useful for maximum accuracy. Shadow Ball decimates Mewtwo and Arceus-Ghost while dealing more damage than Thunder to Lugia, but is generally inferior to Dragon Pulse as the main STAB. The main use of Shadow Ball is to destroy otherwise solid checks such as Arceus-Ghost, Lugia, Jirachi, and Bronzong. Thunder Wave can catch something like Darkrai switching in and cripples many checks such as Arceus. Will-O-Wisp is better on other sets; Substitute could be used to block status, but this set relies on sheer power and surprise value, which Substitute does not provide. Due to the lack of Substitute, Blissey and Chansey will easily wall this set, so powerful physical attackers, such as Terrakion are great partners. This Giratina-O is somewhat fragile, so use it with hazards to ensure it KOs the things it needs to before they can take it out; Ferrothorn is a good partner, having perfect synergy with Giratina-O and setting up hazards.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

This set is best used early- or mid-game for a "mini-sweep" to allow something like Arceus or Mewtwo to clean up the rest later. Thanks to its three attacking moves, Giratina-O can surprise quite a lot of normal checks such as Arceus-Ghost coming in on Calm Mind and trying to set up alongside it, only to be 2HKOed by Shadow Ball. Modest is an option, but the main reason to use this set is for the higher Speed and coverage moves. Thanks to running a Timid nature, Giratina-O can now outrun slow Arceus, neutral nature Rayquaza, and Kyurem-W so it can KO them first. Tailwind, Hidden Power Fire, and Draco Meteor are also options but they are generally inferior to the moves listed. Tailwind gives you two turns to attempt a sweep but that is usually not possible because Giratina-O is not the most powerful sweeper around, although you can surprise would-be checks such as Palkia. Hidden Power Fire is sometimes useful for killing Forretress and Ferrothorn outside of rain, but Aura Sphere is usually the better option. Draco Meteor is Giratina-O's most powerful move available but it reduces Special Attack with every use, making a sweep even more unlikely. Using this set alongside Kyurem-W, Kyogre, Rayquaza, or other Pokemon that are good at breaking stall is advisable to use this set for maximum effect. Wish support is always nice but not really needed, and it can be hard to fit a user of the move onto Giratina-O's team anyway because only defensive Pokemon can viably use it and this set is better off on offensive teams.

Do NOT give Dark Pulse a slash. Base 90 Speed is not getting you any important flinches-even with max investment and a +Spe nature-and Shadow Ball has the exact same SE coverage, but STAB as well. Other than that nothing I can see wrong.

Hm, is Shadow Ball really necessary? Mewtwo is like the only thing it hits for harder than the other moves. Thunder hits Lugia for the same power, while Lati@s and Giratina are hit by Dragon Pulse harder (although I doubt you'd want to take on Lati@s). Calm Mind / Dragon Pulse / Aura Sphere / Thunder looks better IMO.

EDIT: My bad, forgot Griseous Orb

Thunder vs 252 HP Lugia 40.9% - 48.6%
Shadow Ball vs 252 HP Lugia 49% - 58.2%

Thanks to Griseous Orb, you can outdamage Roost some of the time. Thunder never 2HKOes. I agree about Dragon Pulse being main move though.

Rayquaza surviving +1 Shadow Ball (66.9% - 78.8%) and destroying you next turn is horrible. You need Dragon Pulse for Palkia, Zekrom, Kyurem-W, Rayquaza and even things like Garchomp and Salamence. Hitting Latias harder too. Dragon Pulse lets you revenge kill Adamant SD Rayquaza.

Earth Power rips Heatran and 2HKOes Jirachi at +1, you outrun it unless it is also Jolly.

revised with Dragon Pulse as the main option, EP as a slash next to Aura Sphere and Shadow Ball as a slash in the fourth slot.

What do you guys think of Tailwind as a slash in the fourth slot as well?

Tailwind would give it another niche/advantage over Arceus-Ghost as an Offensive Calm Minder, so I would say yes. But that's up to QC to decide.
Would an EV Spread of 252 HP/4 SpA/252 Spe deserve an AC mention? I mean, Giratina-O is actually has great bulk...

This set checks Adamant Swords Dance Rayquaza, slow bulky Swords Dance Normal Arceus ( You can Aura Sphere it twice since +2 Shadow Claw does not OHKO) and Modest Kyurem-W.

QC APPROVED 1/3

This set plays differently than the SubCM set though so it deserves a separate set. SubCM sets up on Chansey, Blissey, some Ferrothorn and other less powerful pokemon but Oglemi Giratina-O can surprise people with 2 coverage moves and fast Speed.

Immunity to Spikes and Toxic Spikes is a big advantage over Ghost Arceus. Mention this Giratina-O outspeeds slow Lugia and 2HKO it with Shadow Ball, most Giratina-O can't threaten Lugia. The slow subCM will get Toxiced and Lugia can Roost on it.

I think Tailwind is the better option for a sweep than Thunder Wave. Since you are aiming to sweep or break walls, Tailwind is great for surprising Scarf Palkia, Latias, Darkrai, Mewtwo and other Scarf Dragons. Thunder Wave only cripples one, Tailwind lets you continue the sweep for 2 turns, saves you from being revenge killed.

Arceus can use Tailwind too, but most things that switch in on Ghost Arceus are slower, Ho-Oh, Jirachi, Blissey, Chansey and some Kyogre. Things that come in to revenge Giratina-O are usually faster, Palkia, Scarf Reshiram/Zekrom, Kyurem-W, Rayquaza, Ghost Arceus, Latias and Lugia. Tailwind can allow Giratina-O to turn the tables and beat them all.

Unlike the standard SubCM Calm Mind set, this set focuses more on speed and catching your opponent off-guard. Comments:
Right at the beginning:Technically you can do anything with that different arceus, and also, you mention an advantage and then say HOWEVER. Maybe just fuse those two sentences like Gira-O has the advantage of Levitate+other arc form.
Thanks to its unique typing Gira-O can OHKO most ubers with Dpulse? I mean yeah the Dragon typing helps but that's...eh.

Shadow Ball decimates Mewtwo and Arceus-Ghost while dealing more damage than Thunder to Lugia (I'm pretty sure this isn't true; Lugia is 2x weak to both, Thunder has 120 power, and Shadow Ball has 80*1.5 = 120 power as well), but is generally inferior to Dragon Pulse as the main STAB.
