Gloom makes for a decent physical wall in the ZU tier, although it faces stiff competition from the likes of Gourgeist-L and Shiinotic. Its bulk is supplemented by its decent defensive typing and Toxic immunity, which gives it a niche over the aforementioned walls. Access to Strength Sap also allows Gloom to check some of the tiers most threatening attackers, with Gourgeist-L being a very notable example. Moonlight is a good option for reliable recovery outside of the somewhat unreliable Strength Sap and allows it to freely recover if Magic Bounce Hattrem is on the other team. Leech Seed is a viable option if you are not concerned about Hattrem that also lets Gloom wear down bulky Pokemon like Klang and Grapploct. Sludge Bomb is a good attacking move that deals good damage to threats like Mr. Mime, Bellossom, and Morgrem. Sleep Powder can also be used, however, to put threats like Klang, Lunatone, and Galarian Mr. Mime out of commission should they try to switch into Gloom. Giga Drain hits threats such as Whiscash, Stonjourner, and Hippopotas, while Moonblast can be used to hit Machoke, Galarian Linoone, and Vullaby.

Gloom is a decent fit on balance and bulkier squads, using Strength Sap to cripple troublesome Pokemon, such as Gourgeist-L, Machoke, and Grookey. Keep Knock Off in mind when using Gloom to check physical attackers, as several that it can check, such as Galarian Linoone and Machoke, often carry the move. Something that can punish Knock Off, such as a Rocky Helmet Corsola, is therefore useful to have. A specially defensive Pokemon can complement Gloom well, specifically ones that can take on Psychic-, Fire-, and Ice-type attacks. Klang can work in this regard, as it packs resistances to Psychic and Ice. Attackers that appreciate Glooms ability to pivot into Fighting-, Water-, and Grass-type attacks, such as Silvally-Ice, Wartortle, Whiscash, and Lunatone make for good offensive partners when used on a more balanced squad.

Gloom makes for a decent physical wall in the ZU tier, but competes with other Grass-type walls like Gourgeist-L and Shiinotic. Its bulk is supplemented by its decent defensive typing and Toxic immunity, which gives it nice resistances to common attacking types like Fighting, Water, and Grass a niche over the aforementioned walls (Gloom is a C rank mon because of Gourg and shii, and the one thing it has on them is its Poison typing, and thats what should be stressed in the opener). Leech Seed is a viable option if you are not concerned about Hattrem that also lets Gloom wear down the opponents while also healing itself. Sludge Bomb is a good attacking move that comes with a decent poison chance and deals good damage to threats like Mr. Mime, Bellossom, and Maractus Morgrem (relevancy). Stench is used, as Gloom has no use for Chlorophyll and Stench comes with the fringe benefit of a slight flinch chance on attacking moves should Gloom encounter an opponent slower than it like Dusclops and Charjabug (just examples).

Gloom is a decent fit on balance and bulkier squads, (AC) using Strength Sap and Sleep Powder to cripple that appreciate it checking troublesome Pokemon, such as Gourgeist-L, Machoke, and Whiscash Grookey (Specs whish does way too much with Ice beam and EP 2hkos after rocks, on top of outspeeding). Use Gloom to take advantage of these Pokemon and cripple them with Strength Sap or a Sleep Powder. (This didnt need its own point and it's a pretty straightforward usage tip, and I condensed it to be merged with the previous point) Keep Knock Off in mind when using Gloom to check physical attackers, as several that it can check, such as Galarian Linoone and Machoke, often carry the move. Something that can punish Knock Off, such as a Rocky Helmet Corsola, is therefore useful to have. A specially defensive Pokemon can complement Gloom well, specifically ones that can take on Psychic-, Fire-, and Ice-type attacks. Klang can work in this regard, as it packs resistances to Psychic and Fire while also utilizing its handy Flying resist to help Gloom's team pivot around Farfetch'd (Offensive flying types aren't too viable anymore). A defensive Water-type, such as Palpitoad or Corsola, can also work well, and they appreciate Gloom's resistances to Grass- and Electric-type attacks making it easier for them to function as well. Corsola and Klang also greatly appreciate Gloom's Fighting-resist (This section was running too long anyways and these points felt like the least relevant / already covered). Attackers that appreciate Glooms ability to pivot into Fighting-, Water-, and Grass-type attacks, such as Silvally-Ice, Wartortle, Whiscash, and Lunatone make for good offensive partners when used on a more balanced squad.

Sludge Bomb is a good attacking move that comes with a decent poison chance and deals good damage to threats like Mr. Mime, Bellossom, and Morgrem (fluff). Sleep Powder can also be used, however, to put threats like Klang, Lunatone, and Galarian Mr. Mime out of commission should they try to switch into Gloom. Stench is used, as Gloom has no use for Chlorophyll and Stench comes with the fringe benefit of a slight flinch chance on attacking moves should Gloom encounter an opponent slower than it, like Dusclops or Charjabug. I think the last line can be removed because it is super situational and Chlorophyll has next to no place in the meta, so using Stench is obvious
