Gholdengo's incredible typing, great stats, and setup potential make it a potent wincon with plenty of defensive utility. With Fur Coat-boosted bulk or the immunity granted by Earth Eater or Well-Baked Body, Gholdengo can switch into foes like Aerilate Dragonite, Iron Moth, and Clodsire and can set up with Nasty Plot to wallbreak. Earth Eater and Well-Baked Body may also surprise the opponent, allowing Gholdengo to set up in key situations and gain a winning advantage. Alternatively, a set with Hex + Thunder Wave + Substitute lets Gholdengo make the most of advantageous situations and avoid having to switch out as often. To dually punish switches and remain healthy, Gholdengo should be paired with teammates that can set entry hazards and provide Defog support, like Ting-Lu and Ice Scales Corviknight, respectively. For immediate power, wallbreakers like Sheer Force Dragapult and Iron Valiant and Choice Band Baxcalibur and Great Tusk are excellent partners. Dragapult and Flutter Mane are notably good partners, as they share the same checks with Gholdengo, forming a core that can overload most special walls.

Gholdengo's incredible typing makes and great stats make it a potent potential wincon with plenty of defensive utility. Nasty Plot boosts its Special Attack enough to eventually break breaks through walls like Ice Scales Corviknight and Clodsire with Shadow Ball and Make it Rain, while Recover is the preferred option to stay healthy throughout the extent of a battle to increase its already excellent longevity. Fur Coat makes Gholdengo bulky enough to switch into and defeat physical attackers like Dragonite and non-Mold Breaker Baxcalibur. Because boosted Ghost-type coverage already hits the vast majority of the metagame, Earth Eater and Well-Baked Body Gholdengo can opt for Hex + Thunder Wave to still wallbreak while crippling virtually any non-immune foe (while accepting the vulnerability to Blissey and Chansey); with such a set, Substitute becomes a valuable option Substitute is preferred on this set to block status and Salt Cure. Gholdengo is able to utilize any of its ability options to turn commonly sets up on passive foes like Chansey, Corviknight, Clodsire, and Hippowdon and offensive foes with neutralized or resisted coverage like Iron Moth and Garchomp if it has the correct immunity ability into setup fodder. The 4 EVs in Speed outpace uninvested opposing Gholdengo. Fur Coat Gholdengo isn't a great special wall without investment is vulnerable to special attackers, so Ice Scales users like Clodsire and Corviknight can help against special attackers like Flutter Mane, Noivern, and Dragapult; they also provide entry hazard and Defog support, respectively. Entry hazard setters like Garchomp and Ting-Lu appreciate Gholdengo's ability to spinblock spinners like Iron Treads and non-Mold Breaker Great Tusk and Iron Treads (although Knock Off is still a threat) with Earth Eater, and Pokemon with a weakness to Fire like Corviknight appreciate Well-Baked Body variants. Lastly, Pokemon like Sheer Force Dragapult and Iron Valiant and Choice Band users like Baxcalibur and Great Tusk can provide more immediate wallbreaking power.

I would reverse this : you want teammates that can do that, such as x and y. For immediate power, wallbreakers like Sheer Force Dragapult and Iron Valiant and Choice Band Baxcalibur and Great Tusk are excellent partners. Dragapult and Flutter Mane are notably good partners as they share the same checks with Gholdengo, forming a core that can overload most special walls.
