Golurk is one of the tier's most powerful wallbreakers thanks to its great coverage and STAB combination. Its useful immunities allow it to block Volt Switch and prevent Toxtricity from freely spamming its most powerful moves. However, its poor Speed, mediocre bulk, and competition from other powerful wallbreakers such as Rhyperior, Chandelure, and Alolan Marowak make it a bit more of a niche pick overall. Close Combat is the preferred Fighting-type move due to its higher power. Dynamic Punch spreads confusion and doesn't drop Golurk's defenses, but it fails to OHKO Zarude. Trick can be used to cripple annoying defensive Pokemon like Suicune, Snorlax, and Tangela. It's also a decent way to punish teams that look to handle Golurk by pivoting around its STAB moves, such as those utilizing Ground-type immune Pokemon like Togekiss and Noivern. Shadow Punch with Iron Fist can be used instead of Trick for a Ghost-type move against foes that have had their items removed. No Guard is better if Shadow Punch is not being run, as it prevents Poltergeist and Dynamic Punch from missing.

Golurk is a rather poor switch-in to the tier's Electric-types overall, as Xurkitree and Toxtricity have coverage moves that have a chance to OHKO, and Raikou's Scald 2HKOes. Grass- and Dragon-types such as Zarude, Roserade, and Dragalge can take on Raikou and Xurkitree while also checking Water-types like Sharpedo, Suicune, and Milotic. Dragalge can also provide Golurk free switches with Flip Turn. A faster pivot such as Mienshao, Xurkitree, or Noivern can help it out by pivoting it in safely. Togekiss, Noivern, and Gardevoir enjoy Golurk threatening Steel-types. The incredibly common Zarude is one of the only Pokemon that can confidently switch into Golurk's STAB combination. Strategies to chip down Zarude are recommended so Golurk doesn't have to worry about predicting to hit it; this can take the form of Rocky Helmet Cobalion or Galarian Weezing. Otherwise, (comma) very solid Zarude checks such as Togekiss and Incineroar can help Golurk out against Zarude.

Golurk is one of the tiers most dangerous wallbreakers thanks to its great STAB combo and coverage as well as its high attacking stats. The only viable Pokemon that resist its STAB combo are Zarude and the rare Shiftry, both of whom fall to coverage moves. This makes Golurk incredibly hard for most standard teams to switch into. However, Golurk has a poor Speed tier, mediocre bulk, and a general lack of defensive utility outside of blocking Volt Switch and being immune to Toxtricity's Boomburst. This, in conjunction with competition from other powerful wallbreakers, such as Zygarde-10%, Chandelure, and Obstagoon, (goon and golurk are fairly different, alolawak makes more sense) make Golurk a bit more of a niche pick overall. Close Combat, which allows Golurk to hit Zarude, is the preferred Fighting-type move due to its higher power. Dynamic Punch can be used to spread Confusion, but it misses out on a guaranteed OHKO onto Zarude. Trick can be used to cripple annoying defensive Pokemon like Incineroar, Umbreon, and Tangela. (maybe expand on this a little more because these individual mons aren’t exactly safe from golurk’s other moves, trick just eases the prediction against bulky cores that can pivot around choice-locked attacks) Shadow Punch can be used over Trick to get more consistent Ghost STAB that can hit enemies that have had their items removed via Knock Off; this should be run with Iron Fist instead of No Guard. No Guard is better if Shadow Punch is not being run, however, as it prevents Poltergeist and Dynamic Punch from missing.

Golurk should see a lot of play in the early stages of the game in order to wallbreak early on and make it easy for teammates later. Golurk's slow speed and exploitable defensive typing leave it wide open to revenge killing after it claims a kill. In addition, it is a rather poor counter to the tier's Electric-types overall, as Xurkitree and Toxtricity have coverage moves that have a chance to OHKO, and Raikou's Scald 2HKOs. A very solid defensive backbone behind Golurk is highly recommended as a result. Grass-types, such as Zarude, Roserade, and Dhelmise, (not a fan of these two together with the shared chandy zarude volc weakness and golurk doesn’t need the spin support, the other two grasses work fine tho) can take on Raikou and Xurkitree while also checking Water-types like Sharpedo, Suicune, and Milotic, while something with significant Special bulk or a Normal resistance, such as Porygon2 or Registeel can work in conjunction with Golurk to shut down Toxtricity. (toxtricity isn’t really a golurk weakness imo, the fact that you’re forcing it to click its weakest move is already good) A faster pivot, such as Mienshao, Xurkitree, or Crobat can act as speed control for Golurk and help it out by pivoting it in safely. (stuff to take advantage of golurk owning every bulky steel in the tier) The incredibly common Zarude is one of the only Pokemon that can truly switch into Golurk's STAB combination. Strategies to chip down Zarude are recommended so Golurk doesn't have to worry about predicting to hit it; this can take the form of Rocky Helmet use from the likes of Cobalion or Galarian Weezing can help with this. Otherwise very solid Zarude checks, such as Togekiss or Incineroar can help Golurk out against Zarude.

Golurk is one of the tiers most dangerous wallbreakers thanks to its great STAB
Golurk is like B ranked? It hits like a truck but I'd be wary of overstating its role in the meta. "tiers most dangerous" implies it's pretty common and something that needs to be considered, which it isn't really.

mediocre bulk, and a general lack of defensive utility outside of blocking Volt Switch and being immune to Toxtricity's Boomburst
I'd rather you separate this into "Golurk is slow and frail" (bad) and "Golurk has really great immunities which still give it defensive utility" (good). It's pretty similar to Alolan Marowak in that you're running it for the immunities a lot of the time.

Shadow Punch can be used over Trick to get more consistent Ghost STAB that can hit enemies that have had their items removed via Knock Off; this should be run with Iron Fist instead of No Guard. No Guard is better if Shadow Punch is not being run, however, as it prevents Poltergeist and Dynamic Punch from missing.
Feel like this is a lot of words. Something like "Shadow Punch with Iron Fist can be used over Trick to hit Pokemon whose items have been removed." works too

A very solid defensive backbone behind Golurk is highly recommended as a result. (Just stating that Golurk appreciates a defensive backbone isn't very useful, plus the first part is very usage tips-esque. You can still tie in the part of Golurk being bad against Raikou and Xurkitree for why Grasses/Dragons are good partners.) Grass- and Dragon-types, such as Zarude, Roserade, and Dragalge Vileplume, can take on Raikou and Xurkitree while also checking Water-types like Sharpedo, Suicune, and Milotic. Dragalge also provides free switches with Flip Turn. A faster pivot, such as Mienshao, Xurkitree, or Noivern Crobat can act as speed control for Golurk and (For future reference, speed control is Thunder Wave, Icy Wind, and the likes.) help it out by pivoting it in safely. Golurk is very threatening to every Steel-type in the tier, so Pokemon that enjoy Steel-types being worn down, such as Togekiss, Noivern, and Gardevoir are good partners. The incredibly common Zarude is one of the only Pokemon that can truly switch into Golurk's STAB combination.
