[SET COMMENTS]

Gothitelle can successfully trap many defensive Pokemon with its good bulk and great setup moves. It has little to fear from the common cores featuring Ferrothorn, Toxapex, or Gastrodon, easily sweeping or stalling out many passive Pokemon with its boosting moves and Rest.

Calm Mind with STAB Stored Power allows Gothitelle to build up a frightening level of damage quickly. Cosmic Power allows Gothitelle to set up on strong physical attackers while further augmenting Stored Power's damage. Rest provides healing while also allowing Gothitelle to stall out Toxapex's PP for Haze and Recover. It is possible for Gotithelle to run a non-STAB attack over Stored Power with Calm Mind, such as Dark Pulse or Energy Ball, allowing it to still have decent coverage while not being walled by Dark-types. Finally, Taunt allows Gothitelle to block off status moves from slower Pokemon such as Toxapex and can be used in place of Calm Mind.

Sitrus Berry is chosen over Leftovers to avoid a 2HKO from stronger attackers, allowing Gothitelle to set up more easily; however, Leftovers is also an option for more passive health recovery. You can consider investing in Speed in order to Taunt certain Pokemon, such as slower Taunt Corviknight, allowing Gothitelle to trap and beat them one-on-one.

Gothitelle has a healthy fear of Dark-type Pokemon, as it has no way of touching them with only Stored Power. Make sure to have an answer prepared in your Pokemon selection to handle Dark-type foes, and bring in Gothitelle on a pivot or predicted switch only. Pokemon such as Mimikyu, Sylveon, Whimsicott, and Grimmsnarl can check Dark-types, and slow pivots, such as Rotom-W, Corviknight, and Rillaboom can bring Gothitelle in safely to trap foes.

move 3: Cosmic Power
move 4: Rest
item: Choice Scarf

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Scarf Gothitelle can be used to cripple various Pokemon with Trick. It can still effectively trap defensive cores, but it also alleviates pressure from setup Pokemon such as Snorlax and allows Gothitelle to trap Pokemon with a pivot move, such as U-turn Corviknight and Volt Switch Rotom-H. This set is preferred on more offensive team variants, as it allows Gothitelle's teammates to get by certain Pokemon such as Corviknight or and Toxapex that would otherwise wall them. Stored Power works in combination with Cosmic Power to build up damage while increasing its defenses. Rest allows Gothitelle to PP stall and alleviate status conditions, which could otherwise prevent Gothitelle from setting up.

The EV spread can be modified; for example, 132 Speed EVs allows Gothitelle to outspeed maximum Speed Rotom-A. Dark-type checks, such as Mimikyu, Sylveon, Whimsicott, and Grimmsnarl, and slow pivots such as Rotom-W, Rotom-H, Corviknight, and Rillaboom, will all help Gothitelle come in and do its job well without being walled.

I wonder if it's really 2 significantly different sets - they share 3 key moves. Though I suppose separating them would inevitably spare us the "why slash Scarf on a mostly non attacking set?" not realizing Scarf + Trick are only good when they go together or smth...

I'm fine with two different sets in this case. However, while this is repetitive, you'll need to mention the same teammates again (though don't use the same writing). Reason for this, is because players aren't meant to read the entire analysis in most cases. I don't really have an issue with this otherwise though, so QC Approved 2/2!

the calm mind sets often run non-STAB mono coverage like dark pulse or energy ball over stored power.

I’ve also seen a few double team over calm mind on the stored power variants.

the regular boosting set is used with more supportive teammates, while the trickscarf one is used on more offensive teams that just get hardwalled by bulky mons so they lure them out and get sacked for goth to come out.

Gothitelle is to can successfully trap many defensive specialists in this generation Pokemon with its good bulk and great setup moves.

Cosmic Power allows you Gothitelle to set up on strong physical attackers, (RC) while further augmenting Stored Power’s base (don't write these in word/Google docs, it messes up apostrophes) Power's damage. Rest provides healing while also allowing you Gothitelle to stall out Toxapex’s Toxapex's PP for Haze and Recover. It is possible for Gotithelle to run a non-STAB mono-attacking coverage attack over Stored Power with Calm Mind, such as Dark Pulse or Energy Ball, allowing you it to still have decent coverage while not being walled by Dark Types Dark-types. Finally, Taunt allows you Gothitelle to block off non-attacking status moves from slower Pokemon, (RC) such as Toxapex (presumably what you were trying to get at below. Examples are generally required.) and can be used in place of Calm Mind.

Sitrus Berry is chosen over Leftovers to survive avoid a 2HKO from stronger attackers. It also allows you Gothitelle to actively take more damage from weak attacking attacks after booting boosting, such as Toxapex's Scald, enabling you to always get off Rest after being hit to (yeah sitrus doesn't actually help goth use rest versus toxapex in any way) it to better stall them out walls. Leftovers is also an option for more passive health recovery, but you miss out on Rest stalling Toxapex as efficiently once you gain high enough Special Defense (??? Sitrus does not help vs pex) and put yourself this puts Gothitelle in danger of certain 2HKOs that you it would otherwise live survive with Sitrus Berry. Taunt can be run in place of Calm Mind to effectively beat out Toxapex, and also allows you to regain the use of Leftovers for long term passive recovery. (1. Didn't you already say this? 2. How does this "regain" leftovers? When in the battle was it lost? How does Taunt bring it back? Sitrus does not help vs pex. Sentence has no novel comprehensible content.) You (this one is fine because it refers to the player and not the Pokemon) can consider placing EV investment in speed investing in Speed in order to speed creep Taunt certain Pokemon, such as Taunt Corviknight, allowing you Gothitelle to trap and beat them in a 1vs1 one-on-one.

Thanks for the GP! As I'm sure you noticed, this Pokemon needed a lot of work; I didn't really edit it back when you gave me your advice on writing analyses in favor of fixing up other Pokemon that were higher on the priority list. I appreciate the thorough check regardless!!!

Fixed.

Just as an FYI, the AC here "and slow pivots, (AC) such as Rotom-W" is inconsistent with the RC I was told earlier by ACWAH. I updated it to your correction though.
