1v1 Greninja (QC 3/3) (GP 2/2)

[OVERVIEW]

Greninja is a threatening Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame, with a good Special Attack and an amazing Speed tier that make it very threatening, being able to OHKO many threats like Mega Swampert, Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Dragonite. Backing up that statline is access to Protean with a great movepool, giving it more offensive pressure with a STAB boost on all of its moves and a way to evade powerful attacks by changing to a type that resists them or is immune to them. However, it is horribly frail, so any super effective moves against it will likely OHKO it, and it also falls to some strong neutral STAB attacks such as Adamant Haxorus's Outrage, Mega Lopunny's Giga Impact, and Choice Specs Magnezone's neutral Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt. Greninja can also be defeated by faster Pokemon that can take advantage of its low defenses like Zeraora and bulkier ones that aren't afraid to take its hits like Kyurem

Moves
========

Hydro Cannon is Greninja's attack with the highest Base Power, and it can score an OHKO on threats such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Diancie with relative ease. Grass Knot is chosen in the second slot to hit the Water-types that resist Hydro Cannon for super effective damage, and it's Greninja's best option for dealing with Mega Slowbro, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Swampert. Ice Beam is fantastic coverage, as it obliterates Pokemon that are weak to it such as Dragonite, Landorus-T, and Naganadel. Blizzard gives Greninja another Ice-type coverage option that hits a bit harder, giving Greninja more consistent KOs on the bulky sets of Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Mega Altaria; however, its 70% accuracy can cause losses. Dark Pulse gives Greninja good coverage, beating Ghostium Z Aegislash and offensive Mew, and it is also a great option in dealing with Mirror Coat users like Avalugg, as Greninja keeping the Dark typing prevents the move from working. Hidden Power Fire is Greninja’s best option against Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Magearna. Ferrothorn and Scizor are both easily OHKOed, while Magearna, which can otherwise tank a Choice Specs-boosted Hydro Cannon and OHKO with Twinkle Tackle, is 2HKOed and sees Greninja change to a type that resists Twinkle Tackle. Another benefit of using Hidden Power Fire is that Magearna often will see Greninja as an easy KO, and luring it is very important. Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist both of Tapu Lele's STAB moves, but Special Defense investment is needed to survive a Shattered Psyche.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature is chosen so that Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Mega Latios. A spread of 208 SpA / 48 SpD / 252 Spe with a Timid nature is ideal for using Hidden Power Steel. Choice Specs is used because it gives Greninja as much power as possible to OHKO its targets. Protean gives Greninja STAB on every move, giving it the power it needs to OHKO its targets.

Usage Tips
========

Use Greninja against Pokemon it can OHKO reliably, such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Slowbro. Greninja also has most of its OHKOs come from super effective moves, so a foe that is weak to one of Greninja's attacks is likely an easy target to be OHKOed. Hidden Power is slightly weaker and doesn't always result in this, with an example being that Hidden Power Fire fails to OHKO Magearna. Sometimes moves that will allow Greninja to attack again are the better option if Greninja can’t OHKO the opposing Pokemon, such as changing Greninja's type with Hidden Power Fire to resist Magearna's Twinkle Tackle. Some options to cheese a victory in unfavorable matchups can come from Greninja’s moves’ secondary effects. Dark Pulse's 20% flinch rate can be used to cheese a win from a Donphan or Magnezone, but it's not reliable for swinging the matchup. Ice Beam's freeze chance of 10% is less reliable than Dark Pulse's flinch rate, so that move should never be used for its secondary effect unless the Pokemon resists Dark Pulse but not Ice Beam.

Team Options
=========

Magnezone is a fantastic partner for Greninja, as it helps it deal with unfavorable matchups in Meloetta, Primarina, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. It also has a good matchup against Sturdy Pokemon such as Avalugg and Crustle. Greninja also beats many threats to Magnezone in Dragonite, Kommo-o, Zygarde, and Mega Charizard X. Zygarde has a fantastic matchup against almost every Sturdy Pokemon in the tier, which Greninja mostly universally loses to. It also helps Greninja in matchups against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny and Zeraora. Greninja can also help Zygarde by making quick work of Dragonite, other Zygarde, and Mega Charizard X. Dragonite is another good Pokemon to partner with Greninja, as it has fantastic matchups against Mega Venusaur, Meloetta, Mega Charizard Y, and Magnezone. Greninja also helps Dragonite in shaky matchups against Mega Charizard X and Aegislash. Heatran is a great option because it more reliably beats Charizard and Magearna, letting Greninja use Dark Pulse or a different Hidden Power. Heatran also appreciates Greninja's targeting of Zygarde and Dragonite. Other Electric-types like Raikou and Zapdos can also be used as team options because they are much more reliable at dealing with Gyarados than Magnezone while also beating Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Charizard Y.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Greninja is extremely versatile with its mixed attacking stats and Protean, so it has many options to use in combating what would have been losses before. Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on non-Choice Specs Greninja sets like Waterium, as it changes it to a Ghost-type. This can be an win against Pokemon that are Choice-locked into a Normal- or Fighting-type move, with a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Choice Specs Greninja, as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to KO a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune to it, it will slowly Struggle until it is KOed by recoil, as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP. An example of this is Choice-locked Porygon-Z using Hyper Beam eight times on Greninja and doing no damage due to Greninja's Ghost typing and being KOed by Struggle recoil afterwards. Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it's a subpar move choice elsewhere. Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confound it, OHKOing normal Gyarados while Grass Knot OHKOes Mega Gyarados. Due to the type change, it's also a valuable tool against Pokemon that attack with Supersonic Skystrike, such as Skarmory. This is generally a bad idea due to the limited use of Hidden Power Electric outside of these two scenarios. Hidden Power Flying is a good tool against Pokemon that use Tectonic Rage on Greninja, with Donphan being a good example. It also OHKOes Mega Heracross. Outside of these two situations, the move has very limited use. Water Shuriken can be used to 2HKO Golem and sometimes KO Donphan, but it has very little use outside of this and is also heavily luck based when facing Donphan. Greninja's extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high Base Power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairy-types like Mega Gardevoir, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu, and Low Kick for special walls or heavy targets like Chansey and Kyurem. Greninja also has fantastic physical coverage in Ice Punch, Waterfall, Night Slash, and Rock Slide to fit the team. However, Greninja is no longer able to deal with some threats with a Choice Band set, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOes Dragonite in Ice Beam's place. A Modest Choice Scarf set can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster Pokemon, such as using Hidden Power Ground on a Zeraora or Magnezone to take an Electric-type attack, outspeeding Choice Scarf Haxorus and OHKOing it with Ice Beam, or outstripping Mega Blaziken's Speed tier even after Protect and washing it away with Hydro Cannon. This is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from a Choice Specs or Choice Band. A Life Orb can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down the opposing Pokemon. A Z-Crystal can also be used to give Greninja the same power, if not more, of Choice Specs or Choice Band on one move and the freedom it gets from Life Orb. Notable options of this are Darkinium Z to OHKO Mega Metagross and Icium Z to have the most consistent matchup against Dragonite. However, both of these options have subpar power in comparison to Choice Specs and Choice Band, as OHKOing targets such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados becomes much harder when Greninja doesn't have a flat boost to all of its attacks as high as from Choice Specs or Choice Band. Torrent can also be used with Hydro Cannon, Substitute, Work Up, and either Taunt or Water Shuriken to provide Greninja with a one-time nuke that can OHKO even specially defensive Mega Charizard X and Mega Mawile, with the set utilizing Substitute to cut down Greninja’s HP so it’s in Torrent range. This set utilizes either Petaya Berry or Waterium Z, as a Petaya Berry-boosted Hydro Cannon is more powerful than Hydro Vortex, but Hydro Vortex doesn’t require a recharge turn, and cannot miss. However, this set can no longer deal with other threats like Mega Slowbro and fast Dragonite.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Greninja is liable to being OHKOed by strong STAB moves or super effective moves from faster Pokemon such as Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Haxorus unless it has a Choice Scarf itself.

**Sturdy**: Since Sturdy Pokemon can always absorb a hit from Greninja, they’re really effective at OHKOing it. Donphan is a good example, as it survives everything and OHKOes Greninja with neutral Tectonic Rage. However, Greninja can survive or avoid this attack and strike back with priority to win, depending on the set.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulkier Pokemon can take Greninja's attacks and OHKO it in return. However, Greninja's insane amount of versatility can usually help it get by these walls depending on the set. Bulky PP stall Kyurem can survive anything from Choice Specs easily and 2HKO Greninja with Ice Beam or Earth Power depending on what it's locked into. Mega Venusaur 2HKOes Greninja with Sludge Bomb and only fears Extrasensory, while Chansey is extremely consistent and only fears Choice Band sets.

The analysis should be in bullet points until you receive the second QC

Greninja is a very large threat in the 1v1 metagame, being able to OHKO many threats in like Mega Swampert and Mega Charizard X add some more notable examples like Zygarde-C.
It has a good offensive statline of 95 Atk/103 SpA/122 Spe, giving it good versatility in what set it can run and a very good speed tier.
Backing up that statline, it has access to Protean with a great movepool, giving it more offensive pressure with 1.5x damage a STAB boost on all of its moves, and a way to evade powerful attacks by changing to a type that resists or is immune them.
However, it is horribly frail, so any super effective moves against it will likely OHKO, and it also falls to some strong neutral STAB attacks if neutral from what Pokemon?

(Moves)

Hydro Cannon is Greninja's highest base power attack, and it can score an OHKO on meta threats such as Mega Charizard X, Mega Diancie and Mega Mawile Mega Mawile can live and Metal Burst with relative ease. Grass Knot is chosen in the second slot to hit the Water Types that resist Hydro Cannon for super effective damage, and it's Greninja's best option for dealing with Mega Slowbro, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Swampert. Ice Beam on Greninja is fantastic coverage, as it obliterates Pokemon that are weak to it such as Dragonite, Landorus-Therian and Naganadel. Dark Pulse gives Greninja good coverage in beating order to beat Ghostium Z Aegislash, Mega Gengar and is a great option in dealing with Mirror Coat, as the change to Dark Type technically Greninja is already a Dark-type prevents the move from working.

(Set Details)

Maximum Special Attack and Speed are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature was chosen so Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Choice Scarf Rampardos. Choice Specs were used to make sure Greninja can OHKO in favorable matchups, as without it, Greninja would die due to having terrible bulk.

(Usage Tips)

Use Greninja against Pokemon it can OHKO favorably, such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Slowbro. Sometimes moves that will allow you to attack again are the better option if you can’t OHKO, such as using Hidden Power Fire you don't even mention Hidden Power Fire above on a Magearna instead of Hydro Cannon to soak the Twinkle Tackle. Some options to cheese a victory in unfavorable matchups can come from Greninja’s moves’ secondary effects. Dark Pulse's 20% flinch rate can be used to cheese a win from a Donphan or Magnezone, but it's not reliable for swinging the matchup. Ice Beam's freeze chance of 10% is less reliable than Dark Pulse's flinch rate and should never be used for its seconday effect unless the Pokemon resists Dark Pulse but not Ice Beam.

(Team Options)

Magnezone is a fantastic partner for Greninja, as it helps it deal with unfavorable matchups in Meloetta, Primarina, Mimikyu, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. It also has a good matchup against Sturdy Pokemon such as Avalugg and Crustle. Greninja also beats many threats to Magnezone, in Dragonite, Kommo-o, Zygarde and Mega Charizard X.

Zygarde has a fantastic matchup against almost every Sturdy Pokemon in the tier, which Greninja mostly universally loses to. It also helps Greninja in matchups against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Zeraora, and Jolteon Jolteon is not something to account for Greninja can also help Zygarde by making quick work of Dragonite, other Zygarde, and Mega Charizard X.

(Other Options)

Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on non-Choice Specs Greninja, as it changes it to a Ghost Type. This can be an instant loss to Choiced Pokemon that are locked into a Normal or Fighting Type move, a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Specs Greninja as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to faint a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune, they will slowly Struggle to death as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP. Hidden Power Fire is Greninja’s best option against Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and Magearna, as Magearna can tank a Specs Hydro Cannon and OHKO with Twinkle Tackle. Hidden Power Fire is a 2HKO on Magearna and changes Greninja to a type that resists Twinkle Tackle. Ferrothorn and Scizor are self-explanatory. Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s a subpar move choice elsewhere. Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confuse it, as Hidden Power Electric OHKOs normal Gyarados and Grass Knot OHKOs Mega Gyarados Due to the resistance type change, it’s also a valuable tool against Pokemon that attack with Supersonic Skystrike, such as Skarmory. Hidden Power Flying is a good tool against Pokemon that use Tectonic Rage on Greninja, Donphan being a good example. Water Shuriken is another priority option that can 2HKO Golem, but it’s generally a subpar option otherwise. Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist Mimikyu’s Let’s Snuggle Forever and both of Tapu Lele’s STABs. Bulky Mimikyu isn’t OHKOd by Timid Greninja so there may have to be a Nature switch if that’s the goal. Hidden Power Ground Why is this here if you don't talk about it a all? Blizzard gives Greninja another option in Ice coverage that hits a bit harder, giving Greninja more consistent kills on the bulky versions of Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Mega Altaria. However, Blizzard’s 70% accuracy can cause losses due to that and nothing else. Greninja’s extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high base power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairies Fairy-types and Low Kick for special walls like?. Greninja also has fantastic physical coverage in Ice Punch, Waterfall, Night Slash, Rock Slide, and U-Turn to fit the team. However, Greninja stops being able is no longer able to deal with some threats, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOs Dragonite in Ice Beam’s place. A Choice Scarf can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster pokemon, but this is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from Specs or Band. A Life Orb on Greninja can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down a foe. A Z-Crystal can be used to give Greninja the same power (if not more) of Choice Specs/Band on one move, and the freedom it gets from Life Orb.explain why Life Orb/Z-Crystals are subpar to Specs

(Checks and Counters)

Set Knowledge: Greninja has no true counters due to its expansive movepool, but knowing what it’s going to do is a great step towards beating it.

Faster Pokemon: If not running a Choice Scarf, Greninja is liable to being OHKOed by strong stab moves or super effective moves from faster Pokemon such as Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.

Sturdy: Since Sturdy Pokemon can always absorb a hit from Greninja, they’re really effective at OHKOing Greninja after they soak a hit.like? However, Greninja can live/dodge this attack and strike back with priority to win depending on the set. rephrase this

Bulky Pokemon: The same idea as Sturdy, bulkier Pokemon can live Greninja’s attacks and OHKO it in return. However, Greninja’s insane amount of versatility can usually bypass these walls depending on the set. like?

combine those 2 since they refer to the same other option

Blizzard gives Greninja another option in Ice coverage that hits a bit harder, giving Greninja more consistent kills on the bulky versions of Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Mega Altaria. However, Blizzard’s 70% accuracy can cause losses due to that and nothing else.

Not a member of QC/GP, but I'm pretty sure you can mention moves that aren't in the set. Sometimes a move isn't good enough to be slashed on the set, but is still worth a mention in the moves section.

stuff mentioned in moves is good enough to be used consistently but not really worthy of being on the main set, while oo is stuff that could be viable but is either niche or outclassed.

Greninja is a very large threat in the 1v1 metagame, being able to OHKO many threats like Mega Swampert and Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-Complete, Zygarde-C is the correct way and Dragonite.
It has a good offensive statline of 95 Atk/103 SpA/122 Spe, giving it good versatility in what set it can run and a very good speed tier. Do not mention stats directly on analysis, like ever. instead say with its Good Special Attack along with its good Speed makes it a great choice to run due to its good versatility it has and its different sets it can run.
Backing up that statline, it has access to Protean with a great movepool, giving it more offensive pressure with a STAB boost on all of its moves, and a way to evade powerful attacks by changing to a type that resists or is immune them.
However, it is horribly frail, so any super effective moves against it will likely OHKO, and it also falls to some strong neutral STAB attacks from Pokemon like Adamant Haxorus' Outrage, Lopunny's Giga Impact, Choice Specs Magnezone's Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt (when neutral).

Grass Knot is chosen in the second slot to hit the Water Types Water-types, always add a hyphen and not capitalize the T on types. that resist Hydro Cannon for super effective damage, and it's Greninja's best option for dealing with Mega Slowbro, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Swampert.
Ice Beam on Greninja is fantastic coverage, as it obliterates Pokemon that are weak to it such as Dragonite, Landorus-Therian and Naganadel.
Move Blizzard up here since it's in the main set.
Dark Pulse gives Greninja good coverage in order to beat Ghostium Z Aegislash, Mega Gengar and is a great option in dealing with Mirror Coat Example of a Mirror Coat mon would be nice imo, as Greninja keeping the Dark Type prevents the move from working.
Never write like this, just say something like Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor gets OHKOed by Hidden Power Fire.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible.
A Timid nature was chosen so Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Choice Scarf Rampardos. Pretty sure Rampardos isn't common, pick another mon.
Choice Specs were is used to make sure Greninja can OHKO in favorable matchups, as without it, Greninja would die get KOed due to having terrible bulk.

Usage Tips
========

Use Greninja against Pokemon it can OHKO favorably, such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Slowbro. One more example
Sometimes moves that will allow you Greninja to attack again are is the better option if you Greninja can’t OHKO, such as changing Greninja's type with Hidden Power Fire to resist a Magearna's Twinkle Tackle. Avoid using you when referring to Greninja.
Some options to cheese a victory in unfavorable matchups can come from Greninja’s moves’ secondary effects. Dark Pulse's 20% flinch rate can be used to cheese a win from a Donphan or Magnezone, but it's not reliable for swinging the matchup. Ice Beam's freeze chance of 10% is less reliable than Dark Pulse's flinch rate and should never be used for its secondary effect unless the Pokemon resists Dark Pulse but not Ice Beam. Not sure about this, as that is dex stuff, I leave that up to QC.

Team Options
=========

It also helps Greninja in matchups against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, and Zeraora.

Imo needs more Team Options like Haxorus, Mega Metagross, Tapu Lele and Mimikyu come to mind.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on Non-Choice Specs Greninja, as it changes it to a Ghost Type. This can be an instant loss to Choiced Pokemon that are locked into a Normal or Fighting Type move, a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Choice Specs Greninja as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to faint a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune, they will slowly Struggle to death as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP.
Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s a subpar move choice elsewhere.
Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confuse it, as Hidden Power Electric OHKOs normal Gyarados and Grass Knot OHKOs Mega Gyarados. Due to the type change, it’s also a valuable tool against Pokemon that attack with Supersonic Skystrike, such as Skarmory. This is generally a bad idea due to the limited use of Hidden Power Electric outside of these two scenarios.
Hidden Power Flying is a good tool against Pokemon that use Tectonic Rage on Greninja, Donphan being a good example. However, this move has extremely limited use outside of cheesing a win, and is generally not recommended.
Water Shuriken is another priority option that can 2HKO Golem, but it’s generally a subpar option otherwise. Not worth mentioning
Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist Mimikyu’s Let’s Snuggle Forever and both of Tapu Lele’s STABs. Bulky Mimikyu isn’t OHKOd by Timid Greninja so there may have to be a Nature switch if that’s the goal.
Move this up to moves as its slashed on the main set.
Greninja’s extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high base power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairy-Types, and Low Kick for special walls like Chansey. Greninja also has fantastic physical coverage in Ice Punch, Waterfall, Night Slash, Rock Slide, and U-Turn to fit the team. However, Greninja is no longer able to deal with some threats, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOs Dragonite in Ice Beam’s place.
A Choice Scarf can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster Pokemon, such as using Hidden Power Ground on a Zeraora to absorb a Plasma Fists, but this is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from Specs or Band.
A Life Orb on Greninja can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down a foe. A Z-Crystal can also be used to give Greninja the same power (if not more) of Choice Specs/Band on one move, and the freedom it gets from Life Orb. However, both of these options have subpar power in comparison to Choice Specs and Choice Band, as OHKOing targets such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados becomes much harder when Greninja doesn't have a flat boost to all of its attacks as strong as Choice Specs/Band.

Checks and Counters
===================

Set Knowledge: Greninja has almost no true counters due to its expansive movepool, but knowing what it’s going to do is a great step towards beating it. No, this is true for any mon with having set / meta knowledge.
Faster Pokemon: If not running a Choice Scarf, Greninja is liable to being OHKOed by strong STAB moves or super effective moves from faster Pokemon such as Zeraora and Mega Lopunny.
Sturdy: Since Sturdy Pokemon can always absorb a hit from Greninja, they’re really effective at OHKOing Greninja after they soak take a hit. Donphan is a good example, as it lives everything and OHKOs Greninja with Tectonic Rage (when neutral) if not locked into Grass Knot. However, Greninja can live/dodge this attack and strike back with priority to win depending on the set. Grass Knot to resist the Tectonic Rage followed up by a Shadow Sneak on non-Choiced Greninja is a popular way of dealing with Donphan. The main set is specs so this shouldn't be mentioned.
Bulky Pokemon: The same idea as Sturdy, bulkier Pokemon can live Greninja’s attacks and OHKO it in return. However, Greninja’s insane amount of versatility with its movepool can usually bypass take care of these walls depending on the set. Bulky PP stall Kyurem can live anything from Choice Specs easily, and 2HKO Greninja with Ice Beam or Earth Power respectively. However, Kyurem is OHKOd by a Choice Banded Low Kick. Again, not main set, and is not common and a couple more examples would be nice.

[OVERVIEW]

Greninja is a very large threat in the 1v1 metagame, being able to OHKO many threats like Mega Swampert and Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Dragonite. Order them on the basis of viability Mega Charizard X, Dragonite, Zygarde-C and Mega Swampert.
It has a great good Special Attack, an amazing Speed tier, and decent Attack, giving it good versatility in what set it can run and a very good speed tier. 103 SpA isn't that great
Backing up that statline, it has access to Protean with a great movepool, giving it more offensive pressure with a STAB boost on all of its moves, and a way to evade powerful attacks by changing to a type that resists or is immune them.

Moves

Hydro Cannon is Greninja's highest base power attack, and it can score an OHKO on threats such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Diancie with relative ease. Note that the Diancie matchup is a bit shaky as it can stay regular on turn 1 to retain Sturdy and force a recharge on the next turn so maybe replace it with something else.

Also helpful against Mega Metagross if it uses Meteor Mash on turn 1 and not EQ since Dark Pulse doesn't OHKO 252 HP Mega Metagross.

Make the last line more clear. Specify that the foe will be PP stalled mostly only if it is choiced.
Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s a subpar move choice elsewhere. Also helps against Fight Z Sawk mostly.
Bulky Mimikyu isn’t OHKOd by Timid Greninja so there may have to be a Nature switch if that’s the goal. HP Steel wouldn't be that useful but if kept you can mention that it also gives Greninja a favourable matchup against Diancie, Hyper Beam Mega Gardevoir, Crustle.
Greninja’s extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high base power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairy-Types such as? A Modest Choice Scarf set can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster Pokemon, such as using Hidden Power Ground on a Zeraora to absorb a Plasma Fists, but this is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from Specs or Band. Add in that HP Ground also gets Magnezone. Also defeats Speed Boost Mega Blaziken and other scarfers like Porygon-Z, Haxorus.
I'd say name a specific Z-Crystal like Dark Z (Mega Metagross) or Icium Z (Dragonite reliably) to not leave the reader in dark

Greninja is a threatening Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame, being able to OHKO many threats like Mega Swampert and (AC) (Mega Swampert isn't as viable or common as the other threats listed, so I doubt that it deserves mention.) Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Dragonite. It has a good Special Attack, an amazing Speed tier, and decent Attack, making it very threatening. Backing up that statline (This is a misplaced modifier. It modifies "it," the subject, not the direct object.), (RC) it has is access to Protean with a great movepool, giving it more offensive pressure with a STAB boost on all of its moves, and a way to evade powerful attacks by changing to a type that resists them or is immune to them.

Adamant Haxorus's Outrage, Lopunny's Giga Impact, and Choice Specs Magnezone's Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt (when neutral) (P: Remove the parentheses.). Greninja can also be defeated by faster Pokemon that can abuse its low defenses and tankier bulkier ones that aren't afraid to take its hits.

Moves
========

Hydro Cannon is Greninja's highest base power attack with the highest Base Power, and it can score an OHKO on threats such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Diancie with relative ease. Blizzard gives Greninja another option in Ice coverage that hits a bit harder, giving Greninja more consistent kills KOes on the bulky versions sets of Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Mega Altaria. However, Blizzard’s 70% accuracy can cause losses due to that and nothing else. Dark Pulse gives Greninja good coverage in order to (AC) beat beating (Dark Pulse does not give Greninja good coverage with the purpose of beating some Pokemon.) Ghostium Z Aegislash, offensive Mew, and is also a great option in dealing with Mirror Coat users like Avalugg, as Greninja keeping the Dark Type prevents the move from working. Hidden Power Fire is Greninja’s best option against Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor and Magearna, as Magearna can tank a Specs Hydro Cannon and OHKO Greninja with Twinkle Tackle. Hidden Power Fire is a 2HKO on Magearna and changes Greninja to a type that resists Twinkle Tackle. Ferrothorn and Scizor are both easily OHKOed. (This should be placed before the sentence explaining how Greninja beats Magearna to be consistent with the order of listing.) Another benefit of using Hidden Power Fire is that Magearna often will see Greninja as an easy victory KO (AC) and luring it is very important. Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist both of Tapu Lele's STABs, but Special Defense investment is needed to survive a Shattered Psyche. A spread of 208 SpA/48 SpD/252 Spd (Include spaces before and after the slashes.) with a Timid nature is ideal for using this move.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature was is chosen so that Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Mega Latios. Choice Specs were are used because Greninja needs as much power as possible to OHKO its targets, and Choice Specs is the most consistent item for that. (I would merge the dependent clause and second independent clause.) Protean gives Greninja STAB on every move (AC) and it far outclasses Torrent by boosting damage on every move instead of just Water-Type ones. Protean also doesn't need a health requirement to give Greninja this benefit.

Usage Tips
========

Use Greninja against Pokemon it can OHKO favorably, such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Slowbro. Greninja also has most of its OHKOs come from super-effective moves, so an opponent that is weak to one of Greninja's attacks is likely an easy target to be OHKOed. Hidden Powers Power are is slightly weaker and don't always result in this, an example being that Hidden Power Fire fails to OHKO Magearna. Sometimes moves that will allow Greninja to attack again are the better option if Greninja can’t OHKO the opposing Pokemon, such as changing Greninja's type with Hidden Power Fire to resist a Magearna's Twinkle Tackle.

Team Options
=========

Magnezone is a fantastic partner for Greninja, as it helps it deal with unfavorable matchups in Meloetta, Primarina, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. It also has a good matchup against Sturdy Pokemon such as Avalugg and Crustle. Greninja also beats many threats to Magnezone, (RC) in Dragonite, Kommo-o, Zygarde (AC) and Mega Charizard X.

Zygarde has a fantastic matchup against almost every Sturdy Pokemon in the tier, which Greninja mostly universally loses to. It also helps Greninja in matchups against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, (RC) and Zeraora.

Heatran is a great option because it more reliably beats Charizard and Magearna, letting Greninja use a different Hidden Power. Heatran also appreciates Greninja's targeting of Zygarde and Dragonite.

Other electric types Electric-types like Raikou and Zapdos can also be used as team options because they are much more reliable at dealing with Gyarados than Magnezone, while also beating Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Charizard Y.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Greninja is extremely versatile with its mixed attacking stats and Protean, so it has many options to use in combating what would have been losses before. Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on Non non-Choice Specs Greninja, as it changes it to a Ghost Type Ghost-type. This can be an instant loss to Choiced Pokemon that are locked Choice-locked into a Normal or Fighting Type Normal- or Fighting-type move, a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Specs Greninja (AC) as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to faint KO a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune, they it will slowly Struggle to death (AC) as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP. An example of this is Porygon-Z using Hyper Beam 8 eight times on Greninja, (RC) and doing no damage due to Greninja's ghost Ghost typing. Afterwards, Greninja will still have 40 Shadow Sneaks left (AC) and Porygon-Z will faint to Struggle recoil.
Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s a subpar move choice elsewhere. Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confuse it, as Hidden Power Electric OHKOs normal Gyarados (AC) and Grass Knot OHKOs Mega Gyarados. It also OHKOs Mega Heracross. Outside of these two situations, the move has very limited use. Water Shuriken can be used to 2HKO Golem and sometimes KO Donphan, but it has very little use outside of this and is also heavily luck based in Donphan's case. Greninja’s extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high base power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairy-Types like Mega Gardevoir, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu, and Low Kick for special walls or heavy targets like Chansey and Kyurem. Greninja also has fantastic physical coverage in Ice Punch, Waterfall, Night Slash, and Rock Slide to fit the team. However, Greninja is no longer able to deal with some threats with a Choice Band set, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOs Dragonite in Ice Beam’s place. A Modest Choice Scarf set can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster Pokemon, such as using Hidden Power Ground on a Zeraora or Magnezone to absorb take (doesn't really absorb) an electric Electric-type attack, outspeeding Choice Scarf Haxorus and OHKOing it with Ice Beam, or meeting Mega Blaziken's speed tier and washing it away with Hydro Cannon. This is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from a Choice Specs or a Choice Band. A Life Orb on Greninja can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down a foe the opposing Pokemon. A Z-Crystal can also be used to give Greninja the same power (if not more) (use commas instead of parentheses) of Choice Specs/Band (spell out) on one move, and the freedom it gets from Life Orb. Notable options of this are Darkinium Z to OHKO Mega Metagross and Icium Z to have the most consistent matchup against Dragonite. However, both of these options have subpar power in comparison to Choice Specs and Choice Band, as OHKOing targets such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados becomes much harder when Greninja doesn't have a flat boost to all of its attacks as strong as Choice Specs/Band (spell out).

**Faster Pokemon**: If not running a Choice Scarf, Greninja is liable to being OHKOed by strong STAB moves or super effective moves from faster Pokemon such as Zeraora, Mega Lopunny, and Choice Scarf Haxorus.
**Sturdy**: Since Sturdy Pokemon can always absorb a hit from Greninja, they’re really effective at OHKOing Greninja after they soak a hit. Donphan is a good example, as it lives survives (The verb to live does not take a direct object.) everything and OHKOs Greninja with Tectonic Rage (when neutral). However, Greninja can live/dodge survive or avoid this attack and strike back with priority to win (AC) depending on the set.
**Bulky Pokemon**: The same idea as Sturdy, bulkier Pokemon can live Greninja’s attacks and OHKO it in return. However, Greninja’s insane amount of versatility can usually get by these walls depending on the set. Bulky PP stall Kyurem can live anything from Choice Specs easily, and 2HKO Greninja with Ice Beam or Earth Power respectively. Mega Venusaur 2HKOs Greninja with Sludge Bomb and only fears Extrasensory, while Chansey is extremely consistent and only fears Choice Band sets.

[OVERVIEW]

Greninja is a threatening Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame, being able to OHKO many threats like Mega Swampert and (AC) (Mega Swampert isn't as viable or common as the other threats listed, so I doubt that it deserves mention.) (I agree with making it one list but reasoning isn't great from a gp standpoint w commenting on meta stuff) Mega Charizard X, Zygarde-C, and Dragonite. It has a good Special Attack stat (or good special attack), an amazing Speed tier, and decent Attack (the main set is fully special & overview shouldn't reference oo stuff), making it very threatening. (remove line break) However, it is horribly frail, so any super effective moves against it will likely OHKO it, and it also falls to some strong neutral STAB attacks such as from Pokemon like the likes of (Adamant Haxorus' Outrage, etc. aren't Pokemon) (stab attacks from the likes of adamant haxorus's outrage doesn't make sense either) Adamant Haxorus's Outrage, Mega Lopunny's Giga Impact, and Choice Specs Magnezone's Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt (when neutral) (P: Remove the parentheses.). Greninja can also be defeated by faster Pokemon that can abuse take advantage of its low defenses and tankier bulkier ones that aren't afraid to take its hits. (such as?)

Moves
========

Hydro Cannon is Greninja's highest base power attack with the highest Base Power, and it can score an OHKO on threats such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Diancie with relative ease. Grass Knot is chosen in the second slot to hit the Water Types Water-types that resist Hydro Cannon for super effective damage, and it's Greninja's best option for dealing with Mega Slowbro, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Swampert. Ice Beam on Greninja is fantastic coverage, as it obliterates Pokemon that are weak to it such as Dragonite, Landorus-Therian Landorus-T, (AC) and Naganadel. Blizzard gives Greninja another Ice-type coverage option in Ice coverage that hits a bit harder, giving Greninja more consistent kills KOes (should be KOs - KOs is the noun and KOes is the verb) on the bulky versions sets of Dragonite, Kommo-o, and Mega Altaria. However, Blizzard’s 70% accuracy can cause losses due to that and nothing else. (what?) Dark Pulse gives Greninja good coverage, in order to (AC) beat beating (Dark Pulse does not give Greninja good coverage with the purpose of beating some Pokemon.) Ghostium Z Aegislash (RC) and offensive Mew, and it is also a great option in dealing with Mirror Coat users like Avalugg, as Greninja keeping the Dark Type Dark typing prevents the move from working. Hidden Power Fire is Greninja’s best option against Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, (AC smogon uses oxford comma) and Magearna, as Magearna can tank a Choice Specs Hydro Cannon and OHKO Greninja with Twinkle Tackle. Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist both of Tapu Lele's STAB moves, but Special Defense investment is needed to survive a Shattered Psyche. A spread of 208 SpA/48 SpD/252 Spd (Include spaces before and after the slashes.) (better to make objective changes like these yourself instead of just saying what's wrong) 208 SpA / 48 SpD / 252 Spe with a Timid nature is ideal for using this move. (this should be in set details)

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature was is chosen so that Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Mega Latios. Choice Specs were are used because Greninja needs they give Greninja as much power as possible to OHKO its targets, and Choice Specs is the most consistent item for that. (I would merge the dependent clause and second independent clause.) (did this but again making changes > commenting unless it's content or optional) Protean gives Greninja STAB on every move, (AC) and it far outclasses Torrent by boosting damage on every move instead of just Water-type ones. Protean also doesn't need a health HP requirement to give Greninja this benefit.

Usage Tips
========

Use Greninja against Pokemon it can OHKO favorably favorably (american english also please clarify what you mean here), such as Mega Charizard X and Mega Slowbro. Greninja also has most of its OHKOs come from super (RH) effective (super effective isn't hypenanted) moves, so an opponent a foe (opponent = huamn battler / foe = opposing pokemon) that is weak to one of Greninja's attacks is likely an easy target to be OHKOed. Hidden Powers Power are is slightly weaker and don't doesn't (to agree with your last change) always result in this, an example being that Hidden Power Fire fails to OHKO Magearna. Sometimes moves that will allow Greninja to attack again are the better option if Greninja can’t OHKO the opposing Pokemon, such as changing Greninja's type with Hidden Power Fire to resist a Magearna's Twinkle Tackle.

Team Options
=========

(this should all be one paragraph)

Magnezone is a fantastic partner for Greninja, as it helps it deal with unfavorable matchups in Meloetta, Primarina, Mega Charizard Y, and Magearna. It also has a good matchup against Sturdy Pokemon such as Avalugg and Crustle. Greninja also beats many threats to Magnezone, (RC) in Dragonite, Kommo-o, Zygarde, (AC) and Mega Charizard X. Zygarde has a fantastic matchup against almost every Sturdy Pokemon in the tier, which Greninja mostly universally loses to. It also helps Greninja in matchups against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, (RC) and Zeraora. Heatran is a great option because it more reliably beats Charizard and Magearna, letting Greninja use a different Hidden Power. (or dark pulse - remember hp fire isn't main slash) Heatran also appreciates Greninja's targeting of Zygarde and Dragonite. Other electric types Electric-types like Raikou and Zapdos can also be used as team options because they are much more reliable at dealing with Gyarados than Magnezone (RC) while also beating Primarina, Tapu Fini, and Mega Charizard Y.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Greninja is extremely versatile with its mixed attacking stats and Protean, so it has many options to use in combating what would have been losses before. Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on Non non-Choice Specs Greninja (what other item? specs is the only 1 that has been mentioned anywhere so far), as it changes it to a Ghost Type Ghost-type. This can be an instant loss to Choiced Pokemon that are locked Choice-locked into a Normal or Fighting Type Normal- or Fighting-type move, a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Choice Specs Greninja, (AC) as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to faint KO a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune, they it will slowly Struggle to death until it is KOed by recoil (death is a no in analyses), (AC) as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP. An example of this is (scarf/specs?) Porygon-Z using Hyper Beam 8 eight times on Greninja, (RC) and doing no damage due to Greninja's ghost Ghost typing. Afterwards, Greninja will still have 40 Shadow Sneaks left (AC) and Porygon-Z will faint to be KOed by Struggle recoil. (remove line break) Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s a subpar move choice elsewhere. Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confuse it (reword because hp elec doesn't cause confusion), as Hidden Power Electric OHKOes normal Gyarados (AC) and Grass Knot OHKOes Mega Gyarados. It also OHKOes Mega Heracross. Outside of these two situations, the move has very limited use. However, Greninja is no longer able to deal with some threats with a Choice Band set, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOes Dragonite in Ice Beam’s place. A Modest Choice Scarf set can be used with one of these coverage moves to bait faster Pokemon, such as using Hidden Power Ground on a Zeraora or Magnezone to absorb take (doesn't really absorb) an electric Electric-type attack, outspeeding Choice Scarf Haxorus and OHKOing it with Ice Beam, or meeting Mega Blaziken's Speed tier (after protect? also its like 20 points faster so idk about meeting) and washing it away with Hydro Cannon. This is generally a subpar option because Greninja loses its immense power from a Choice Specs or a Choice Band. A Life Orb on Greninja can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down a foe the opposing Pokemon. A Z-Crystal can also be used to give Greninja the same power (if not more) (use commas instead of parentheses) of Choice Specs or Choice Band /Band (spell out) (make the change > commenting) on one move (RC) and the freedom it gets from Life Orb. Notable options of this are Darkinium Z to OHKO Mega Metagross and Icium Z to have the most consistent matchup against Dragonite. However, both of these options have subpar power in comparison to Choice Specs and Choice Band, as OHKOing targets such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados becomes much harder when Greninja doesn't have a flat boost to all of its attacks as strong as Choice Specs or Choice Band (spell out).

Hidden Power Fire is Greninja’s Greninja's best option against Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Magearna. Another benefit of using Hidden Power Fire is that Magearna often will see Greninja as an easy KO, (AC) and luring it is very important. Hidden Power Steel can be used to resist both of Tapu Lele's STAB moves, but Special Defense investment is needed to survive a Shattered Psyche.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack and Speed EVs are used to let Greninja hit as hard and fast as possible. A Timid nature is chosen so that Greninja can outspeed targets such as Mega Diancie, Blacephalon, Naganadel, and Mega Latios. A possible spread of 208 SpA / 48 SpD / 252 Spe with a Timid nature is ideal for using Hidden Power Steel. Choice Specs are is used because they give it gives Greninja as much power as possible to OHKO its targets. Protean gives Greninja STAB on every move, (AC) and it far outclasses Torrent by boosting damage on every move instead of just Water-type ones. Protean also doesn't need a HP requirement to give Greninja this benefit and not requiring Greninja to be at low HP. (though i don't exactly feel this is necessary)

Usage Tips
========

Ice Beam's freeze chance of 10% is less reliable than Dark Pulse's flinch rate, (comma) and so that move should never be used for its secondary effect unless the Pokemon resists Dark Pulse but not Ice Beam.

Team Options
=========

Other Options
=============

Greninja is extremely versatile with its mixed attacking stats and Protean, so it has many options to use in combating what would have been losses before. Shadow Sneak is a fantastic option on non-Choice Specs Greninja sets like Waterium, as it changes it to a Ghost-type. This can be an instant loss to win against (ambiguity) Pokemon that are Choice-locked into a Normal- or Fighting-type move, with a notable example being Porygon-Z. Shadow Sneak can even be used on Choice Specs Greninja, (AC) as the overall chip damage will usually be enough to KO a Pokemon given enough time, and if the Pokemon is immune to it, it will slowly Struggle until it is KOed by recoil, as Shadow Sneak has a healthy 48 PP. An example of this is Choice-locked Porygon-Z using Hyper Beam eight times on Greninja and doing no damage due to Greninja's Ghost typing. Afterwards, Greninja will still have 40 Shadow Sneaks left and Porygon-Z will be and being KOed by Struggle recoil afterwards. Extrasensory is Greninja’s best option to deal with Mega Venusaur, but it’s it's a subpar move choice elsewhere. Hidden Power Electric can be used against Mega Gyarados to confound it, as Hidden Power Electric OHKOes OHKOing normal Gyarados (RC) and while Grass Knot OHKOes Mega Gyarados. Due to the type change, it’s it's (slanted apostrophe) also a valuable tool against Pokemon that attack with Supersonic Skystrike, such as Skarmory. Water Shuriken can be used to 2HKO Golem and sometimes KO Donphan, but it has very little use outside of this and is also heavily luck based in Donphan's case when facing Donphan. Greninja’s Greninja's extensive physical movepool can be used to make a Choice Band set, with Giga Impact for high Base Power, Gunk Shot to deal with Fairy-types like Mega Gardevoir, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Bulu, and Low Kick for special walls or heavy targets like Chansey and Kyurem. Greninja also has fantastic physical coverage in Ice Punch, Waterfall, Night Slash, and Rock Slide to fit the team. However, Greninja is no longer able to deal with some threats with a Choice Band set, as Ice Punch no longer OHKOes Dragonite in Ice Beam’s Beam's place. A Life Orb on Greninja can be used to have Protean take a more defensive role, as Greninja changing its typing can help afterwards when taking down the opposing Pokemon. A Z-Crystal can also be used to give Greninja the same power,(space)if not more, of Choice Specs or Choice Band on one move and the freedom it gets from Life Orb. Notable options of this are Darkinium Z to OHKO Mega Metagross and Icium Z to have the most consistent matchup against Dragonite. However, both of these options have subpar power in comparison to Choice Specs and Choice Band, as OHKOing targets such as Dragonite, Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados becomes much harder when Greninja doesn't have a flat boost to all of its attacks as strong high as from Choice Specs or Choice Band.

Checks and Counters
===================

Donphan is a good example, as it survives everything and OHKOs OHKOes Greninja with neutral Tectonic Rage when neutral. However, Greninja can survive or avoid this attack and strike back with priority to win, depending on the set.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Bulkier Pokemon can take Greninja’s Greninja's attacks and OHKO it in return. However, Greninja’s Greninja's insane amount of versatility can usually help it get by these walls depending on the set.
