Grimmsnarl is capable of serving as an effective setup sweeper using Bulk Up when paired with Rest's recovery and Sleep Talk giving it the ability to set up and attack while asleep. Prankster is amazing for this set as it gives priority to Grimmsnarl's Bulk Up along with Rest and Sleep Talk, which helps tremendously against offensive Pokemon as it allows it to boost, heal, and use Darkest Lariat if picked by Sleep Talk first. Darkest Lariat's the chosen attack, as its ability to hit through Defense boosts allows Grimmsnarl to serve as a solid answer to opposing setup sweepers that boost Defense, namely Corviknight and Snorlax. Darkest Lariat is also effective against Psychic- and Ghost-type Pokemon such as Bronzong, Reuniclus, Gengar, and Aegislash, while also hitting other Steel-type Pokemon such as Excadrill and Corviknight which Fairy teams appreciate. Though Rest does give it recovery, be aware that Sleep Talk is not always reliable, so Rest should be used on an as-needed basis. As it has a poor unboosted Defense stat, Grimmsnarl should try to set up on defensive Pokemon such as Corviknight, Bronzong, and Seismitoad rather than wallbreakers such as Mamoswine, Galarian Darmanitan, and Diggersby.

Pokemon such as Gardevoir, Togekiss, and Hatterene are good partners for Grimmsnarl, as they can both take down Poison-type Pokemon such as Vileplume and Toxapex that Grimmsnarl may struggle with. Choice Scarf Gardevoir can also beat faster wallbreakers such as Barraskewda, Sand Rush Excadrill, and Mamoswine that give Grimmsnarl issues before it sets up, and it can provide Healing Wish support if Grimmsnarl gets worn down. Clefable can set up Stealth Rock for Grimmsnarl, allowing it to break apart teams more easily by forcing switches. Mimikyu and Grimmsnarl form a good core can work together to beat Ghost and Psychic teams with their super effective attacks. Mimikyu can also take on Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Bisharp, and Gengar that Grimmsnarl struggles with, while it and Togekiss appreciate Grimmsnarl's ability to serve as a status sponge against status inducers such as Galarian Corsola and Seismitoad with Rest.

I would focus Darkest Lariat more around getting past Defense boosts. Naturally, it is worth noting that Grimmsnarl is a fantastic option against Steel-types (and Ghost/Psychic of course) because Fairy can always use more help against them. However, being capable of breaking Corviknight specifically is extremely valuable.

I probably wouldn't set up on a Ferrothorn because Leech Seed puts you in range of Whimsicott's Moonblasts (I'm assume Grass here) but the other two are fine. You can consider using

You mention Togekiss as a teammate very much in passing. Can we expand on this so there's context for the line that's there? Maybe something about how it's good against Poison like Gardevoir and Hatterene.
