Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: No Ability
- Double-Edge
- Earthquake
- Curse
- Rest

The king of GSC itself threatens nearly everyone in OU with the combination of Double-Edge and Earthquake. Double Edge allows Snorlax to threaten Zapdos and opposing Snorlax, while Earthquake allows Snorlax to muscle through phazers like Steelix and Tyranitar and Ghost-types like Gengar that attempt to foil the king's sweep. Curse allows Snorlax to be threatening offensively and defensively, all but forcing the opponent to phaze it or risk Snorlax sweeping their team. Rest allows Snorlax to deal with Zapdos and Raikou more consistently and allows it to shrug off status. However, Snorlax does not want to take too much damage, as without Sleep Talk, Rest gives the opponent a chance to phaze or set up on it safely. Because of this, a Rapid Spin user such as Golem or Starmie to cut down on Spikes damage is always welcome support. Zapdos checks Skarmory and Machamp, which prevent Snorlax from sweeping due to the former's resistance to its attacks and the latter's threat of a Cross Chop crit.

Curse allows Snorlax to be threatening offensively and defensively, all but forcing the opponent to phaze or explode on it or risk Snorlax sweeping their team.
"Or explode on it" is often a last-ditch or endgame maneuver, particularly because of the logical hook you set up in the first clause: Curse raises Snorlax's defenses to heights that render even the mighty Explosion unable to kill it. I get that in practice, it's also a useful midgame threat to Curselax because you'll be threatening to Explode on a +1 lax at 50-60% or so (or 70% + Spikes). However, that's situational nuance which makes it unwise to trumpet Explosion as an unqualified solution to Curselax on par with Phazing, but at the same time you also don't want to take the reader on the fantastic journey I just took you through with this particular piece. So I'd only mention Phazing here (but optionally qualify it with "all but" to recognize the nuance that a quick spotlight can't properly cover).

However, Snorlax does not want to take too much damage, as without Sleep Talk, Rest gives the opponent a chance to phaze or setup on it safely. The logic doesn't set up "Explosion absorber" very well, since those usually threaten to kill lax outright, talk or no talk. It sets up Rapid Spin support better imo, and I feel like experienced players can attest that being able to spin makes lax, especially non-talk lax, feel a lot more comfy in the face of zapdos thunders.

Cloyster provides Spikes and can utilize Explosion to remove threats like Zapdos to help Snorlax sweep late-game.
Cloyster is weird to mention as EQ Curselax support since lax's biggest counter (Skarm) is immune to Spikes. Spikes are always good per se, as is EQ Curselax, but the combo of Spikes + EQ Curselax isn't more than the sum of its parts. Listing Zapdos as a threat is also strange, since Snorlax nominally counters Zapdos. There's nuance here, of course, but Exploding on Zapdos isn't the same door opener for EQ Curselax as it is for, say, Growth Vaporeon, yet that impression is what comes across in this sentence. So, I'd just delete this last sentence.
