Hail [RMT]

so yes. this is where an introduction would be. this is a hail team i made at the time the smogon server suddenly went offline. went to the CAP server and did a couple battles, lost one mainly because of a sloppy play, another because my time ran out (again, my fault). someone told me to get a gliscor and ditch my cleffa (how could they?) and you have my current team. let's see it shall we?

no picture for you!!
Abomasnow@Leftovers
Ability: Snow Warning (of course)
EVs: 4 def / 252 spa/ 252 spe
Nature: Timid ( -Atk + Spd)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Blizzard
- Protect

Yep, what did you expect? Tyranitar? anyway, basic subseeder set, protect is there scouting. leftovers for hp regeneration and stuff, not much else to say so i'll keep my mouth shut and move on.

Walrein@Leftovers
Ability: Ice Body
EVs: 220 hp 252 def 36 spd
Nature: Bold
- Substitute
- Roar
- Protect
- Blizzard
Slight deviation from the regular stallrein, most would run surf over blizzard, but i already have tyranitar covered by mamoswine. roar is there because of entry hazard damage. protect for even more scouting. Next please!

Tentacruel@Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 hp / 120 def / 136 spd
Nature: Calm
- Toxic Spikes
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Sludge Bomb

Tentacruel, for all your entry hazard needs. toxic spikes and rapid spin is for, well you know, "all your entry hazard needs". i chose sludge bomb for STAB and breloom destroying (although i kinda hope that it won't poison it...) S is for Surf. or STAB, whichever way you prefer.

Mamoswine@Choice Band
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 252 atk / 4 def / 252 spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Yay, who wouldn't want the 3rd strongest Earthquake in the game on their team? Besides the superpower and choice band, not much to say, chose jolly for the speed boost. moving on to...

Gliscor@Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 atk / 4 def / 252 spe
Nature: Jolly
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock
- Roost

My own creation :) Taunt is there for trollerificness (is that even a word?) roost for hp gain, and stealth rock for teh epic pwnsness.

three decisions with this guy though, should i switch leftovers with something else? and Sand Veil, mostly used in case a sandstorm team comes, but should it be hyper cutter? and i put the 4 evs in defense, but should i be somewhere else? please answer those questions in your replies.

Rotom-f@Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 hp / 120 def / 136 spd
Nature: Bold
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

yes, snoozing fridge for scizor counter. blizzard and t-bolt for the coveted boltbeam combo. rest and sleep talk for hp recovering while still attacking. and that's it for this pocket monster.

so that's my hail team, please make comments.

and if there are any grammatical errors, let me know. thanks much!

Mixape threatens 5/6 of this team. To prevent this, I would switch Abomasnows set to a Choice Scarf set with Blizzard, Wood Hammer, Hidden Power Ground, and a filler. This stops Mixape from raping your team after Tentecruel dies.

inb4 Haunter locks this for lack of description.

Please lengthen your descriptions. The majority of them are lacking and content and are close to violating RMT rule #3. If you don't do this within 24 hours of this post, I'll have to lock your thread.

EDIT: 24 hours are up. Feel free to PM me when you fix your descriptions, and I'll unlock this.

The lack of a Ghost and Dragon type resist is really going to hinder this team's performance while playing considering those types are used quite often. Threats that utilize those types such as Rotom-A, Dragonite, Kingdra and others are all going to trouble this team if you encounter them while playing. Now, the most replaceable Pokemon is Mamoswine, sharing weaknesses with other members of your teams and not bringing anything significant to the table. To remedy most of your issues, the best thing to do is to replace Mamoswine with a Specs Heatran and moving it to the lead position. Abomanow is actually a terrible lead in the current metagame. Abomasnow would fare much better mid-game where it finds some some utility and provides a solid Starmie, bulky Water and Jolteon check. Use the following moveset for Heatran: Overheat / HP Grass / Earthpower / SR with a 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe, Choice Specs and a Timid nature. You OHKO Machamp and Swampert with Overheat and HP Grass respectively, deal with other leads well and set-up SR reliably while providing a Dragon and Ghost resist.

Gliscor really wants max HP. Gliscor is currently a very important part of your team giving you a Lucario and Tyranitar, two of Hail teams biggest threats check and very useful resistances. So use a 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe EV spread. Also, since Heatran now sets up SR, you can use U-Turn in that slot, to scout the opponent's team while dealing a bit of damage and start forming your strategy. Abomasnow should run the following spread: 252 HP / 4 SpAtk / 252 SpDef with a Sassy nature. Abomasnow should focus more on bulk rather than it's mediocre speed so he can easily tank hits from bulky Waters and other special attackers.

Good luck.

why would you use HP ground as opposed to earthquake?

i agree completely that a abomascarf is a better option than a lead set, but in my mind EQ would do more damage and tackle the same threats as HP ground, so why not beef it up?

the only thing that i can think of is that HP is nice for playing mind games, especially if you use it against a pokemon with multiple weaknesses, but apart from that novelty i dont see the point

you should give abomasnow a hasty nature and max speed EVs

then run something like EQ, Woodhammer, Blizzard, (HP fire/Firepunch)
