This set takes advantage of Hatterene's amazing Special Attack and Speed for Trick Room, which notably allows it to underspeeds Snorlax and Copperajah under Trick Room. 3 Attacks maximizes the Hatterene the coverage can do under Trick Room, while a Life Orb provides a consistent boost to all attacks. Sitrus Berry compliments Hatterene's bulk by allowing it to set up Trick Room consistently at the cost of damage output. Focus Sash is another item option that makes Hatterene a good lead since it can set up Trick Room against Dragapault and Mimikyu, which could force it out. Magic Bounce complements Hatterene very well since opposing Taunt users cannot stop it's Trick Room, as well as blocking Stealth Rock and other entry hazards. Hatterene's a very powerful candidate for Dynamaxing, since Max Mindstorm sets Psychic Terrain, which powers up Hatterene's Psychic Moves while also increasing its bulk. Keep in mind you can't set up Trick Room after Dynamaxing, so only do it after Trick Room is set. Also, if you use Max Starfall Psychic Terrian goes away. Good partners that can take advantage ofTrick Room include Snorlax, Copperajah, Araquanid, Cursola, Conkeldurr, and offensive Ferrothorn. . If running a full Trick Room team, having another Trick Room setter such as Mimikyu is recommended, as despite Hatterene's good Defense and Special Defense, its low HP makes it a lot frailer than it seems at first glance. If not running a full Trick Room, adding faster Pokemon like Dragapult and Barraskewda is useful to ensure the team is not depended on Trick Room entirely.
