[SET COMMENTS]
Thanks to its amazing ability Magic Bounce, Hattrem can reflect any attempts of Stealth Rock and Spikes used by Pokemon such as Piloswine and Ferroseed. Rest and Sleep Talk provides Hattrem with important recovery, allowing it to be a valid physical wall and entry hazard deterrent throughout the match. Mystical Fire hits Ferroseed and helps to circumvent Hattrem's mediocre Special Defense by letting it beat Clefairy. Giga Drain targets common Stealth Rock setters such as Marshtomp and Piloswine while also giving Hattrem a bit of recovery outside of Rest.

Pokemon with a Stealth Rock weakness such as Lampent, Rufflet, and Galarian Mr. Mime benefit from Hattrem's ability to bounce back entry hazards, which provides them with more setup opportunities and adds important chip damage to aid them in sweeping. Hattrem also dissuades Galarian Corsola from recovering with Strength Sap, which helps wallbreakers such as Thwackey and Raboot break past it. Despite its defensive investment, Hattrem should not be heavily relied on as a wall, as it has unreliable recovery, and should mainly be used to switch into entry hazard setters. Pairing Hattrem with defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy, Gurdurr, and Vullaby is a good idea, as they cover its weakness to Dark- and Ghost-type attacks and prevent it from getting overwhelmed by attacks.

[SET COMMENTS]
While Hattrem's main role is as an entry hazard deterrent, it can also assist its teammates with various utility moves. Giga Drain hits Marshtomp and Krokorok hard while also providing recovery, letting Hattrem avoid a 2HKO from Piloswine with the given EV spread. Mystical Fire 2HKOes Ferroseed. Hattrem can opt for Nuzzle over one of the coverage moves to cripple faster sweepers that may attempt to switch into it, such as Morgrem and Thwackey. Healing Wish allows Hattrem to continue supporting the team after the opposing entry hazard setter has been removed. 12 Speed EVs let Hattrem outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon, which is particularly important for Piloswine.

It is recommended that you pair Hattrem with a Defogger or spinner such as Golbat or Wartortle, as it is worn down very easily and lacks solid recovery. Entry hazard removal also helps to combat Hattrem's inability to reflect Neutralizing Gas Koffing's Toxic Spikes. Pokemon that are worn down by recoil moves and weak to entry hazards such as Raboot and Rufflet benefit greatly from Hattrem's Healing Wish and ability to keep the field clear of entry hazards. Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Machoke cover for Hattrem's Dark-type weakness. In return, Hattrem threatens Golbat and provides speed control with Nuzzle. Dark-types like Vullaby and Galarian Linoone check faster Ghost-types such as Gastly and Lampent.

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Specs Hattrem plays off the fact that Hattrem is commonly used as a defensive Pokemon to pick up KOs against targets like Gurdurr, Mareanie, and Tangela with their Eviolites removed. Mystical Fire targets Steel-types such as Ferroseed, Metang, and Klang and 2HKOes Charjabug. Dazzling Gleam helps take down Dark-types such as Vullaby, Galarian Linoone, and Krokorok. Healing Wish can be used to restore a teammate to full health when Hattrem's wallbreaking is no longer needed. Alternatively, Dark Pulse lets it beat Galarian Corsola and opposing Hattrem.

Since Hattrem is a special wallbreaker, it should be paired with physical wallbreakers and setup sweepers that appreciate the removal of physical walls, like Raboot and Thwackey. Knock Off users such as Gurdurr and Tangela increase Hattrem's wallbreaking prowess while also absorbing Knock Off for it; in return, Hattrem beats Koffing and Golbat. Hattrem is relatively frail without Eviolite, so slow pivots such as Charjabug and Clefairy can bring it in safely. Hattrem also benefits from the former's Sticky Web, as it is not a fast wallbreaker. Faster Pokemon such as Gastly and Morgrem easily revenge kill Hattrem with their STAB attacks, so it is important to have switch-ins like Ferroseed and Klang to deal with these Pokemon.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hattrem may opt for Life Dew and another coverage move over Rest and Sleep Talk on its physically defensive set to avoid being overly passive. However, the recovery from Rest lets Hattrem perform its entry hazard deterrent role more reliably. A Timid nature allows Hattrem to outspeed maximum Speed Piloswine and Klang, as well as Jolly Machoke, but these foes are rare, and the additional power from a Modest nature is generally preferred.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Offensive Ghost-types such as Gastly and Lampent easily 2HKO Hattrem with Shadow Ball.

**Dark-types**: Vullaby and Galarian Linoone can switch into Hattrem and force it out with Knock Off. However, Galarian Linoone must be wary of Dazzling Gleam.

**Setup Sweepers and Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Klang, Duosion, and Rufflet can break past Hattrem with their immediate power or by setting up.

**Knock Off**: Strong Knock Off users such as Thwackey and Dwebble threaten Hattrem.

Thanks to its amazing ability, Hattrem can reflect any attempts of Stealth Rock and Spikes used by Pokemon such as Piloswine and Ferroseed, respectively. Rest and Sleep Talk provides Hattrem with important recovery allowing it to better fulfil its role of be a valid physical wall and entry hazard prevention throughout the match. Sleep Talk gives Hattrem the potential to use one of its attacks when asleep, which helps it avoid being overly passive.M (Fluff + compression, also wanted to mention how this set is a wall in the overview) Mystical Fire allows Hattrem to hit Ferroseed and has the added benefit of lowering Special Attack, which (Fluff) helps to somewhat circumvent Hattrem's mediocre Special Defense. Giga Drain targets common Stealth Rock users such as Marshtomp and Piloswine, whilst also giving Hattrem a bit of recovery outside of Rest. Hattrem utilises a fully physically defensive spread with a Bold nature to better handle the attacks of entry hazard users, which are mostly physical attackers. (Fluff, if you just mention it as a physical wall earlier that'll suffice. Also try to fit in another example or two of mons Hatt can wall to express its legitimacy as defensive support)

While Hattrem's main role is as a entry hazard deterrent, it can also assist its teammates with various utility moves. Magic Bounce enables Hattrem to keep its team safe from entry hazards. Psychic deals reliable damage especially with the Special Attack investment. (Fluff) Giga Drain recovery guarantees that Hattrem avoids a 2HKO from Piloswine, with the above spread, but also lets it hit Marshtomp and Krokorok hard. Mystical Fire lets Hattrem 2HKO Ferroseed, and weaken opposing special attacks (Fluff; either end the point at Ferroseed or note something more specific like how it weakens Kadabra and Electabuzz when they switch in). Hattrem can also opt for Nuzzle over one of the coverage moves in order to cripple faster sweepers, such as Morgrem and Thwackey, which may attempt switch into it. Healing Wish restores a teammates health to full, and cures it of any status ailments, and (Fluff) allows Hattrem to continue supporting the team once the opposing entry hazard user has been removed. 12 Speed EVs let Hattrem outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon, which is particularly important for the Piloswine matchup (Fluff).

H Entry hazard removal also helps to combat Hattrem's inability to reflect back Neutralizing Gas Koffing's Toxic Spikes (given that Levitate is a viable OO). Pokemon that are worn down by recoil moves and are weak to entry hazards such as Raboot and Rufflet benefit greatly from Hattrem's ability to heal a teammate to full and keep the field clear of entry hazards. Fighting-types such as Gurdurr and Machoke make for great partners as they can cover for Hattrem's Dark-type weakness. In return, Hattrem threatens out Golbat and provides the aforementioned slow wallbreakers with speed control in Nuzzle. Checks to faster Ghost-types such as Gastly and Lampent, like Vullaby and Galarian Linoone, are also greatly appreciated.

Choice Specs Hattrem plays off the fact that Hattrem is commonly used as a defensive Pokemon. (Mention how the extra power allows it to pick up KOes against targets like... you can fill in the blanks with what's relevant; Gurdurr is a OHKO, Tangela is a OHKO if it loses its Eviolite, ect) Choice Specs boosts Hattrem's special Attack and takes advantage of its wide array of coverage moves. Psychic is a great STAB-move for dealing with common Pokemon like Gurdurr and Mareanie. (fluff) Mystical Fire targets Steel-types such as Ferroseed and Klang, and 2HKOes Charjabug. Dazzling Gleam helps take down opposing Dark-types such as Vullaby, Galarian Linoone, and Krokorok. Healing Wish can be used to bring a teammate back to full health as support on offensive teams when Hattrem's wallbreaking is less important than restoring a teammate (Healing Wish on specs hat would be at least in part for the reason I explained above, as otherwise the point ends with fluff ). Alternatively, Dark Pulse is another coverage move which prevents Ghost-types such as Lampent or Galarian Corsola from easily switching in. (This point is valid to an extent, but Cors is almost never switching into Hattrem. Rephrase this to explain the proactive benefit of Dark Pulse, as it's used for wallbreaking Galarian Corsola and opposing Hattrem–chances to 3HKO Evio SpD corsola and 2HKO it without evio)

Since Hattrem is a special wallbreaker, it should be paired with physical wallbreakers and setup sweepers like Raboot and Thwackey which appreciate the removal of physical walls. Pokemon with access to Knock Off such as Gurdurr and Tangela, support Hattrem's wallbreaking prowess. The aforementioned Pokemon also switch into Knock Off easily, which is the bane of Hattrem, and it in return breaks through Koffing (added a mutual check to Gurrdurr and Tangela that Hattrem breaks. You may consider adding paralyzed Golbat after Koffing here too, as that's an implied combo with Stun Spore Tangela. Just a thought if you wanted anything else to add here). Hattrem is relatively frail due to the lack of Eviolite, so slow pivots, such as Charjabug and Clefairy can help to mitigate this weakness and bring it in safely. Hattrem also benefits from the former's Sticky Web as it is not particularly fast for a wallbreaker. Faster Pokemon such as Gastly and Morgrem can easily revenge kill Hattrem with their STAB attacks, so it is important to have a switch-in for these like Ferroseed and Klang in order to deal with these Pokemon.

Checks and Counters

**Ghost-types**: Offensive Ghost-types such as Gastly and Lampent can easily 2HKO Hattrem with Shadow Ball. Hattrem sets without recovery cannot break past Galarian Corsola. (Hatt is very often used as a switch-in to Corsola to block recovery and SR, and that alone gives any variant of Hatt the advantage against Corsola, usually. I wouldn't list it here even if support variants technically goes down vs it, as it's complicated counterplay at best)

**Dark-types**: Vullaby and Galarian Linoone can switch into Hattrem, and threaten it out with Knock Off. The latter must be wary of the occasional Dazzling Gleam.

**Setup Sweepers and Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Klang, Rufflet Duosion (example variance as Duosion hasn't been mentioned yet compared to Rufflet, and the two are equally viable), and Life Orb Kadabra can break past Hattrem by either setting up or with their immediate power.

**Knock Off**: (It's easy to punish Hattrem when it's vulnerable to Knock Off. Reiterate this point and add strong examples like Pikachu and Thwacky)

Thanks to its amazing ability, Hattrem can reflect any attempts of Stealth Rock and Spikes used by Pokemon such as Piloswine and Ferroseed, respectively. Rest and Sleep Talk provides Hattrem with important recovery allowing it to be a valid physical wall and entry hazard prevention (is preventer a role cuz that might be better too but I'm uncertain) throughout the match. Mystical Fire allows Hattrem to hit Ferroseed and helps to somewhat circumvent Hattrem's mediocre Special Defense (would make note that it also allows you to win the clefairy 1v1 which I find quite relevant). Giga Drain targets common Stealth Rock users such as Marshtomp and Piloswine, whilst also giving Hattrem a bit of recovery outside of Rest. Hattrem can reliably wall common Pokemon such as Golbat, Marshtomp, and Clefairy.

Pokemon with a Stealth Rock weakness, such as Lampent, Rufflet, and Galarian Mr. Mime benefit from Hattrem's ability to bounce back entry hazards, as this not only provides them with more opportunities to setup, but adds important chip damage to aid them in sweeping. Hattrem also dissuades Galarian Corsola from recovering with Strength Sap, which helps physical wallbreakers such as Kadabra, Thwackey and Raboot to break past it. Despite its defensive investment, Hattrem should not be heavily relied on as a wall, as it has unreliable recovery, and should mainly be used to switched into entry hazard users. Pairing Hattrem with defensive Pokemon such as Clefairy, Gurdurr, and Vullaby is a good idea, as they can cover its weakness to Dark- and Ghost-type attacks and make sure Hattrem doesn't get overwhelmed by attacks.

While Hattrem's main role is as an entry hazard deterrent, it can also assist its teammates with various utility moves. Giga Drain recovery guarantees that Hattrem avoids a 2HKO from Piloswine, with the above spread, but also lets it hit Marshtomp and Krokorok hard. Mystical Fire lets Hattrem 2HKO Ferroseed, and weakens Kadabra and Electabuzz when they switch in (but why would they?). Hattrem can also opt for Nuzzle over one of the coverage moves in order to cripple faster sweepers, such as Morgrem and Thwackey, which may attempt to switch into it. Healing Wish allows Hattrem to continue supporting the team once the opposing entry hazard user has been removed. 12 Speed EVs let Hattrem outspeed uninvested base 50 Speed Pokemon, which is particularly important for Piloswine.

It is recommended that you pair Hattrem with a Defogger or Rapid Spin user such as Golbat or Wartortle, as it is worn down very easily and lacks solid recovery. Entry hazard removal also helps to combat Hattrem's inability to reflect back Neutralizing Gas Koffing's Toxic Spikes.

The extra power allows it to pick up KOes against targets like Gurdurr, Mareanie, and Tangela with its Eviolite removed. Mystical Fire targets Steel-types such as Ferroseed, Metang, and Klang, and 2HKOes Charjabug. Dazzling Gleam helps take down opposing Dark-types such as Vullaby, Galarian Linoone, and Krokorok. Healing Wish can be used as support on offensive teams when Hattrem's wallbreaking is less important than restoring a teammate. Alternatively, Dark Pulse is another coverage move which that allows breaking past Galarian Corsola and opposing Hattrem.

The aforementioned Pokemon also switch into Knock Off easily, which is the bane of Hattrem, and it in return breaks through Koffing and paralyzed (what?) Golbat.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hattrem may opt for Life Dew and another coverage move over Rest and Sleep Talk for its physically defensive set to avoid being overly passive. However, the recovery from Rest is generally preferred to perform its entry hazard deterrent role more reliably. Timid can be used on Hattrem to outspeed max Speed Piloswine and Klang, as well as Jolly Machoke, although all three of these are rare, and the additional firepower that Modest provides is generally preferred.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Ghost-types**: Offensive Ghost-types such as Gastly and Lampent can easily 2HKO Hattrem with Shadow Ball.

**Dark-types**: Vullaby and Galarian Linoone can switch into Hattrem, and threaten it out with Knock Off. The latter must be wary of the occasional Dazzling Gleam.

**Setup Sweepers and Wallbreakers**: Pokemon like Klang, Duosion, and Life Orb Kadabra can break past Hattrem by either setting up or with their immediate power.

**Knock Off**: Hattrem is vulnerable to Knock Off, so strong abusers of the move such as Pikachu and Thwackey threaten Hattrem out.
