Have you ever met a famous person?

I shook hands with Barack Obama way back when he was still an Illinois State Senator during a middle school field trip to the state capitol building.

I got to meet Pablo Sandoval of the San Francisco Giants when he was doing rehab work in the minor leagues, He is a real friendly guy, really jolly and even took time before and after the game to make sure every kid there got a autograph even if they where fans of the opposing team and he didn't leave until every kid had one. Ever since then i have become a big fan of his, he is real down to earth and didn't let the bright lights and fame change who he was so it was a real positive experience. That same season he ended up hitting three home runs in the first game of the world series so i like to take a little bit of credit for that XD.

I've met kerry King of Slayer in a guitar store in Cincinnati.
I also met Joe Bonamassa in a hotel in Nashville. I didn't notice him, but my brother did.

We have the San Jose Sharks around here they are a very common occurrence to meet out and about, hockey players in general seem to be out in public more and more willing to stop and have a chat from what i noticed, especially most of the Sharks players I've come across, it does not surprise me if retired players or current players interact in local golf tournaments or beer leagues or other community events, but i always find that kind of neat.

jim calhoun at his uconn basketball camp when i was 10, rocco baldelli at a baseball clinic here in connecticut when i was 11, bucky dent at his florida baseball camp when i was 13, jaska raatikainen in the streets of cleveland last august, and chris adler in a nyc drum store a few hours prior to a lamb of god show in october... they were all pretty cool.

I've met Scott Snyder, current writer of Batman. He's a pretty cool dude. I was very happy to meet with him.

Oh I guess these guys do count as famous. One of my friends met Gail Simone on CBR, so we had an awkward stand around with her and her companions (who mostly just talked about getting drunk).

Autographs I have: Randy White, Mel Renfro (former football players), Phreak, Dyrus, TheOddOne, Scarra, MaKNoon (League of Legends pro players + shoutcaster)

I said about three words to SaintVicious (another pro LoL player) at the same event I got the others' autographs - MLG Dallas. I also got a picture with Phreak, it's somewhere in the LoL thread.

My younger brother played on the same peewee football team as Deon Sanders' son, dunno if the man himself came to any of the games though.

My TV broadcast teacher knows Marcus Spears. My mom stood in line behind Daryl Johnston. I'm very well connected when it comes to former Dallas Cowboys.

Not quite sure if he counts as famous, and technically i didn't meet him, but if anyone here watches American ninja warior then I am sure that you know David “young flip” Rodriguez, well him and I actually communicate on a regular basis, You see I have been training for American ninja warior since I was 16 (im almost 19 now) and I am an avid parkour enthusiast. I taught a parkour/kickboxing class at my highschool, and I was able to get in contact with him through facebook and he actually responded and gave me pointers on what to teach in my class, he is a really cool dude and I look forward to competing with him.

I once sat 3 tables down from Arnold Schwarzenegger at a Resturant with my cousin in california (I was fangirling to my family the whole time), and also met jeff kinney at a book signing once.

I met the creator of Kogan Technologies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruslan_Kogan
He did in inspirational speech at my school. When he was explaining the backstory to his business he used the word "Chinglish," as a result my humanities teacher complained saying he was and I quote "A racist and and an unhealthy role-model,"
(for the record the people who laughed the most at this were the Chinese ones)

That's cool! What's Jagr like?

That's cool! What's Jagr like?

Jagr is a funny dude, Lol. He literally stays the majority of the time in the Arena after games. I remember 1 time i had to check the lockers to make sure nobody was still left. When i checked the Devils Locker, there was Jagr in Boxers with a big ass plate of food and watching ESPN on a Big Screen. He doesn't leave the Arena until 3am or so. Every other player runs out after the games.

If it counts for anything, my mom told me she met with Tom Cruise while he was down here for Oblivion. Apparently she bumped into the guy three times in the same visit to a Whole Foods store where he was accompanied by his then-wife, Kate, and one of their daughters. She saw him and his family once when she held open the door for him and his family, and was trying to figure out why they had this life-sized doll chilling in the buggy with their daughter. She saw them the second time when they were trying out samples in the back of the store, and my mom started to figure out who they were and that they were likely using the doll as a decoy so people wouldn't realize who they were. The third time she saw them, my mom was actually queued up behind them in checkout without realizing, and they locked eyes. My mom said that they both just played it cool with one of those "I know you know" looks, before someone came running up to Cruise completely freaking the hell out. Apparently they were a big fan of the giant doll they had in the cart and were amazed someone had one with them, and were completely oblivious to the fact that Tom Cruise was right there.

I have no idea if the story has any clout, as since my mom decided to play it cool and not break his cover, she didn't go for his signature. Apparently it was Tom Cruise if it was legit, as she asked the guy at the checkout and he mentioned that Cruise had been coming to Whole Foods for his food during the filming.

Other than that, I have met precisely zero celebrities. I don't get out much.

i've met a lot of famous people because i watch tennis every year when it comes around into australia. notable names i've met:
- svetlana kuznetsova (former world no. 2, 2 time slam champion)
- jelena jankovic (former world no. 1)
- bernard tomic (australian talent)
- eugenie bouchard (canadian talent)
and quite a few others that people here probably wouldn't recognise.

the most memorable encounter was with jelena jankovic, it was so cute omg she was playing against kids and i was like "hit your backhand!" and "jelena you're my queen!" and she laughed. got photos with her afterwards (its on my friends phone).

i'll definitely get a chance to talk to lady gaga later this year when she tours here in august.

i've been past some famous cricketer's place, and i've been past guy sebastian's place in the south coast. and flume lives around the corner from a friend's place but i havent met him yet :(
