Haxed and Drenched in the Rain (OU RMT)

Haxed and Drenched in the Rain

Introduction

Hey guys, it's Aequilipse. After so many losses in my sandstorm team, which had common, stupid weaknesses I never paid attention to, I switched strategies to rain. After testing this team several times, it launched me from 820 rating to 1100, in one day of only 2 hours of play. Yep. So without further ado...Haxed and Drenched in the Rain.

Teambuilding

I still don't understand why they gave Drizzle to Politoed, but after choice-specing Politoed, he is a beast.

I threw in Scizor as my physical sweeper, as well as good old Haxrachi. They both get 50% damage from fire and you don't know how helpful that is.

Rotom-W
Benefits perfectly from rain. Also Choice spec'd and launches huge attacks, as well as a perfect Thunder, for incredible damage.

Woot! Haxrachi! Beautiful body slams, and iron heads. Fire Punch for coverage though it hits not so well in rain...lol

After learning that Garchomp is possibly banned, I knew I needed another sweeper. I tried mence, but he is just too frail, and Dragonite fit the job.

Finally, Latias. Latias is the revenge killer of the team. I'm sure that Latios would work too but I like bulk with the same speed, and Draco Meteor also OHKO's so much of the metagame I want Latias ^_^

INDEPTH ANALYSIS

Frogitoed (Politoed) (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- HP Grass/Psychic
Politoed does its job of getting rain up and killing well. I used to run HP Grass for Psychic but found myself not using it much. I could go back to cover for vappy stalls though. Choice Specs is so much of a help, because it brings ferro down to under half depending on EV Spread.

Pincher (Scizor) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bug Bite
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower/Brick Break/Roost
- Swords Dance
Technician helps so much to get those two attacks superior power. SD always gets up in my rain house, giving fire atks 50% damage. Lacerta suggested however not to run Superpower. Any ideas? Otherwise, BP is always good to finish off weak opponents and can also come in to revenge kill.

Sweeper One (Rotom-W) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 180 HP / 240 SAtk / 88 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder - Pain Split - Trick

Good Ol Rotom. Also like Politoed but better coverage. I will occasionally trick to give myself access to both HP and Thunder, and sometimes it gives me a huge comeback. For some reason, I'm always better lategame as I always tend to keep my best for last...-.- I keep forgetting to send in Latias/or Rotom for Jirachi when an earthquake is coming but this proves my preparedness for such situations.

HAX! (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Zen Headbutt - Body Slam - Iron Head - Fire Punch
Fire Punch isn't a good idea, but I need it for coverage. Haxrachi outspeeds a lot of things and with Serene Grace is one of the most abusable Pokemon in the metagame. I chose to run all attacks because of Serene Grace. Prefer not to take out Haxrachi because of these

Dragonite (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Multiscale EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk) - Hurricane - Thunder - Brick Break
- Roost
Weather Abuser. PERFECT accuracy Hurricane and Thunder, + Brick Break. I could actually run Superpower come to think of it....Anyways Dragonite is also a beast in the rain and eats Ferrothorn with Hurricane. I always tend to save Dragonite for last for late game sweeps, which makes me so potent lategame.

Sweeper 2 (Latias) (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Psyshock - Surf - Draco Meteor
- Thunder
Revenge killer. Shadow Ball I find myself not using very much because of Draco Meteor (now using Psyshock), which I use 75% of the time except for Excadrills, but I could be saving it for Gengar, which I normally outspeed. Coverage - GREAT Surf for TTAR :)

Final:
Thanks for viewing my RMT, hopefully you can give constructive criticism. I don't have any real threats, which I find is very interesting.
I do need a good resist for electric to cover for Poli, though and Thundurus can be a pain. Eventually latias revenge kills though

For some reason I'm getting two Hide/shows and always get this message:
p, li { white-space: pre-wrap; } after I preview -.- I always have to delete it. Anyways, thanks

Nice team. If you are hesitant about superpower, I would suggest either roost or brick break. In my opnion, roost would be the superior option as you can then better handle Specs Latios (which can be a real threat due to lack of recovery and your two dragons). Brick break is useful for screens and keeping your coverage, so it's your call.

For Latias, if shadow ball doesn't cut it, I would suggest psyshock or trick. Psyshock still hits Gengar hard and can hurt special sponges like Blissey. You also hit fighting types hard without resorting to draco meteor. Trick can cripple incoming walls and seeing as you have three specs pokemon, may not hurt you as bad if tricked back. It also allows Latias for more coverage towards late game if need be.

Hope that helps.

It might, but I sync my team so perfectly. Ice types are neutralized with jirachi. So...neh and sciz takes salamence draco/outrage like 15%

Tiny suggestion but...how about thunder wave instead of fire punch?

Sure you lack coverage but you always have an option of paralyzing an opponent instead of being ghost walled.
