Haxorus smashes into 1v1! With a Choice Band, Haxorus aims to OHKO every Pokemon, with Outrage hitting hard into most of the top picks, including Pokemon like Hoopa-U and non-Choice Scarf Regidrago. Scale Shot is preferred when trying to break through faster foes like Ogerpon-W. Outrage provides more immediate damage, breaking through even the bulkiest threats, including Pokemon like Skeledirge. First Impression is used against faster foes like Meowscarada and Darkrai, always hitting first. First Impression can be risky, as it only works on the first turn Haxorus is in battle. Haxorus can use Close Combat to hit Steel-types such as Registeel, non-Chople Berry Hisuian Goodra, and non-Choice Scarf Porygon-Z if Haxorus has a Jolly Nature, or it can use Iron Tail to hit Fairy-types like Diancie and non-Babiri Berry Sylveon. Haxorus, even with this coverage, still struggles against Steel- and Fairy-types such as Metagross and Alolan Ninetales, so partners like Ursaluna and Iron Crown can help threaten these Pokemon.

With the Choice Band item, Haxorus aims to OHKO every Pokemon, with Outrage and Scale Shot (Just use Outrage for everything except for the Pokemon I'm going to mention in the Scale Shot section) hitting hard into most of the top picks, including Pokemon like Hoopa-U and non-Choice Scarf Regidrago. Scale Shot is preferred when trying to break through faster foes like Urshifu Ogerpon-W (Scale Shot is generally used to win the Ogerpon-W matchup nowadays, First Impression doesn't work due to the prevalence of Spiky Shield, also Urshifu shares Haxorus' speed tier so it's not ever really a faster foe since you're running max EVs.), granting a Speed boost. Outrage provides more immediate damage, breaking through even the bulkiest threats, including Pokemon like Skeledirge. First Impression is used into faster foes like Meowscarada and Darkrai, always hitting first. First Impression can be risky, as it only works on the first turn Haxorus is in battle. Haxorus can use Close Combat to hit Steel-types such as Registeel, non-Chople Berry Hisuian Goodra and non-Choice Scarf Porygon-Z if Haxorus has a Jolly Nature (Hoodra and PZ are the primary targets for CC, Registeel is a fine mention though.), or it can use Iron Tail to hit Fairy-types like Iron Valiant Diancie and non-Babiri Berry Sylveon (It Protects then Disables, or worse it's a choiced set and kills you in one blow [also no I didn't forget about Unnerve on Sylveon, the Babiri Berry set is just super physdef].). Haxorus, even with this coverage, still struggles into Steel- and Fairy-types such as Metagross and Alolan Ninetales, so partners like Ursaluna and Iron Crown can help threaten these Pokemon.
