INTRODUCTION

Hello beautiful people looking through the Smogon Forums, today I would like to share and receive some feedback from a team that I've been really enjoying on this metagame, this team is fairly basic using some basic compositions but hey what can I tell y'all I am a basic ass guy and writing this sorta stuff is FUN. Without further introduction lets get into the teambuilding process.

TEAMBUILDING PROCESS

SR Chomp, Fini and Bulkarona are such an incredible core to start with, they provide a solid win condition, entry hazard support and even terrain control that highly benefits the other two as they absolutely hate being status'd. All of this not counting the incredible type synergy that they have as Bulkarona can come into Rillabooms and Kartanas that want to just spam grass moves while both Fini and Chomp can handle threats like Heatran and Toxapex that prevent a Volc sweep.

You can't have hazard stacking without more hazards! This is where I decided to add Ferrothorn as the spikes compensate from my ass removal (Fini) and it also gives me more flexibility when playing around both electric and grass types as I don't want to be completely dependant on Garchomp/Volcarona respectively. While this team tries to lean more on the offensive side having this sort of defensive backbone is always good and allows me to reposition in a lot of MU, ferro also completes the Fairy-Dragon-Steel core which is always great.

Weavile is such an incredible beneficiary from spikes support softening up Toxapex, Fini and Heatran allowing it to clean in MU that Volc can't simply handle, It also gives the team the incredible priority of ice shard picking off some of the scariest sweepers in town like DD nite and SS Garchomp, Weavile in general just synergises incredibly well with the rest of guys, Offensively Garchomp can lure and chunk Corviknight/Skarm removing one of the hardest roadblocks to Weavile and defensively it brings the rare ghost resist which the rest of the team lacks.

This last slot needed to bring everything together and that is exactly what pult does, the pivoting capabilities are incredibly valuable to bring in the frail Weavile, Its speed tier gives me a secondary mean of speed control as Fini ends up almost always tricking and it is in general so good at handling just a bunch of random mons (ladder scary). Pult is the final glue needed to complete the team.

THE MEMBERS THEMSELVES

:ss/garchomp: :life orb:
Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast

I have been going back and forth from using Tankchomp or Mixed Chomp in this slot, however for this RMT Ive opted for Mixed Chomp as its ability to dismantle SkarmBliss cores and being a general lure for Corviknight is almost invaluable for the team which would otherwise would be incredibly hard to break. Its job other than luring is functioning as an early wallbreaker and SR setter to start the match in our favor, it also keeps Heatran and Volcarona at bay during the early game so that they dont get out of control.

:choice scarf: :ss/tapu-fini:
Tapu Fini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Surf
- Moonblast
- Trick
- Defog

Scarfini is the main form of speed control for the team while providing incredible utility in its terrain, defenses and most importantly Trick. Trick is not only very good at luring many special walls and basically invalidating them for the rest of the game but it is also able to stop some setup sweepers in a pinch, especifically CM Clefable and BU Corviknight, Fini's job is that of a general revenge killer and good switchin to mons like Heatran and Pult during the early game.
:ss/volcarona: :heavy-duty-boots:
Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 16 SpA / 92 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Psychic
- Roost

Bulkarona over here is the main win condition of the team and the designated counterplay against grass spam teams, the moveset is just the standard 2atk + roost to beat Toxapex and get many setup opportunities thanks to the reliable recovery. Instead of using the standard Max HP and Max Speed I am making use of this more specific set that guarantess a kill on Rillaboom, creeps Zeraora at +1 and maximises its defense stat with the remaining evs allowing Volc to switch more times into those grass mons. (Props to the creator of this set, it is so great)

:leftovers: :ss/ferrothorn:
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Knock Off
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip

Ferrothorn just makes use of the standard defensive utility set to set spikes for the team, remove items from a bunch of mons to make its own spikes more effective and check some specific threats like Tapu Lele, Fini and Koko, Ferrothorn also aliviates the pressure from Volcarona to constantly switch into physical attackers thanks to the punishing nature of its ability
:ss/weavile: :heavy-duty-boots:
Weavile @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard

Weavile is the greatest abuser of the teams whole dynamic, taking advantage of the fact that mons like Heatran need to constantly switch into Volc and wear itself down. It is a great late game cleaner while also being able to function as a mid-game breaker, for this I am making use of the standard SD set with Ice Shard which can be useful to pick off the dragons trying to sweep my team.

:choice specs: :ss/dragapult:
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Shadow Ball
- U-turn
- Flamethrower

Dragapult was chosen as another Wallbreaker that can function in the early game opening up the path for Volcarona or Weavile to clean up, its also a secondary means of speed control in case Fini's Scarf was tricked, Dragapult gives the team pivoting capabilities so that I dont need to completely depend on hard switches and sacrificies to position the rest of the team. It is always a good mon to have in the team especially with some strong synergies like the previously mentioned Weavile and Garchomp. Dragapult also doesnt bring a lot of weaknesses and it double downs in some threats like SD Kart and Urshifu by offensively checking them.
NOTABLE THREATS

:clefable:
This is in my opinion the biggest threat to the team, unlike other common defensive Pokemon like Toxapex or Corviknight it can't be worn down by hazards or lured into a super effective attack, it gets ample opportunity to set rocks, knock items or even set up calm minds. The fact that my two fairy resists can lose the long game against it thanks to their dependency on their items doesnt help the cause a lot, Clef still has to be somewhat careful as the burden of checking the whole team might be a bit too much and end up overwhelmed, also non-trick variants can end up horribly crippled if my Fini catches them. Unaware is a bit more managable thanks to Ferro being able to heal of it but it still poses very similar problems.

:volcarona:
A well positioned Volcarona is incredibly scary to play against as only two quiver dances can completely end my team in right conditions, it can find opportunities on a locked Fini or -2 Dragapult which makes taking kills a bit harder, this MU requires a lot of careful positioning from my part and to keep the offensive pressure against it.

:kartana: (speed boosting SD) + :heatran:
This is a special case as this is instead a very problematic core, speed boosting kart is very hard to deal with even by its own as the only thing that can stop it after it has claimed one kill and setup an SD is Volc and it needs to be in pristine conditions for that, this problem is accentuated by the fact that Kart can bluff other sets whith relative ease as Volc doesnt even want to come close to a banded Knock Off. Heatran makes this dynamic worse by being able to set rocks after Volc's boots have been knocked and basically permawalling the moth, the play with this core is scouting Karts set as fast as possible and make aggresive plays so that they need to constantly switch to wear themselves with hazards and other chip.

Ground

This section is more about Ground-type attacks rather than ground types themselves, as the team handles pretty well the most common ones on a 1v1 basis. But since this team completely lacks a ground immunity or even a resist playing and switching around threats like nidoking or banded lando is very hard as they have nothing to lose by just clicking a ground type move.

REPLAYS

Here are some replays on how the team works in general, All of them are in the range of 1500-1700 so it isnt a top level of play, they showcase both the version with Tankchomp and Mixed Chomp that I talked about. For the replays in here I'll put the average rating and a little description of the opponents team for a better comprehension.

CONCLUSION AND POKEPAST

Well first of all I wanna thank everyone that read through all of that, it was fairly long and I am glad you were interested enough to give it a read, second I can say that while this team does have some notable flaws (mainly in the clef weakness and not a single ground resist) I really enjoy this team, playing with it feels like I have a big array of options and ways to close the game in my favor which is why I am sharing it in the first place. And thirdly I would really appreciate some feedback in ways to make this team better change for the sake of improvement is never bad! I hope that y'all enjoyed this RMT and cya sometime in the future.
