Set Description
=============
Air Balloon allows Heatran to completely mitigate ground moves from Choice users such as Necrozma, Galarian Darmanitan, and Garchomp. Overheat is used over other STABs such as Flamethrower or Fire Blast for immediate power. Earth Power allows Heatran to hit rock types such as Nihilego and Diancie and opposing Arcanine without bulldoze in addition to being more reliable against electric types. Flash Cannon hits bulky fairies such Togekiss and Aromatisse while allowing Heatran to break an opposing Heatran's Air Balloon. Metal Sound breaks through walls such as Galarian Corsola and non-Taunt Tapu Koko and some setup users such as Volcarona and stall Necrozma. Rock Tomb secures the matchup against opposing Heatran while still covering Avalugg and Volcarona. Will-O-Wisp disrupts Sturdy users such as Avalugg, Choice Band Crustle and Aggron.

EVs
=============
The given EVs allow Heatran to survive Choice Specs Regieleki's Thunder and 2 Plasma Fists from Jolly Life Orb Zeraora. The rest is placed in Special Attack.

Will-O-Wisp should be run with 40 Speed EVs for max Speed Aggron.

A fast spread with a Timid natures, 252 Speed EVs and 252 Special Attack EVs can be used to reliably beat Rillaboom. A bulkier spread with 252 HP and 100 Defense EVs with a Bold nature allows Heatran to survive Jolly scarfed Galarian Darmanitan's Superpower.

Usage Tips
=============
When facing Tapu Koko, Overheat should be used instead of Earth Power after having Special Attack minimized by Eerie Impulse. When facing Spectrier, Heatran has the potential to win by using Metal Sound on a Calm Mind and attacking on a Taunt.

Choice Scarf lets Heatran outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame. Flash Cannon is present due to Steel Beam being an unreliable move against users of Endure Custap such as Sylveon and Tapu Lele.

EVs
=============
252 Special Attack and 252 Speed maximize Heatran's offenses. Modest is generally safe but Timid can be opted for instead to guarantee that matchup against max Speed Spectrier and Tapu Koko variants.

Usage Tips
=============
Flash Cannon or Earth Power should be used against targets such as Sylveon or Naganadel that are walled by Heatran but can protect or endure to cause Steel Beam to lose. Against Urshifu-S, Eruption is always a better choice to Steel Beam because despite Sucker Punch potentially lowering the damage of Eruption the choice of move will not change the outcome and Eruption has a greater accuracy.

Other Options
=============
An Air Balloon set with Iron Defense and Body Press can be used to beat some Sturdy users in addition to Chansey and Blissey but is generally outclassed by Will-O-Wisp, which accomplishes much the same thing while only taking one moveslot.
