[Overview]

Heatran cements itself as one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame. The combination of Magma Storm, Taunt, and Toxic makes Heatran almost impossible to deal with defensively, as it is able to overwhelm its checks throughout the game. Additionally, Heatran's fantastic typing allows it to check a large number of threats such as Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona. However, its neutrality to Stealth Rock and lack of reliable recovery hurts it on the defensive end, making it lose to common Knock Off users like Ferrothorn and Rillaboom, which it can otherwise check, and leaving it unable to repeatedly take strong hits. Heatran's highly exploitable typing can be taken advantage of by Pokemon it is suppose to check such as Kyurem and Tapu Lele, as they carry coverage moves that can overwhelm it. Heatran's low Speed tier also leaves it vulnerable to faster Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele. This is hindering to its offensive sets, as it is not able to take hits that well and can often be KOed by their coverage options.

[SET COMMENTS]

This set acts as a good specially defensive wall, capable of checking threats such as Tornadus-T lacking Focus Blast, Choice Specs Dragapult, and Volcarona. Magma Storm enables Heatran to trap Pokemon like Toxapex and Blissey and chip down checks such as Garchomp and Swampert. Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Clefable, Toxapex, Slowking, and Blissey. Toxic wears down Heatran's defensive switch-ins such as Hydreigon, Slowking, and Tyranitar and also helps to break through Blissey. Earth Power provides good coverage, allowing Heatran to hit Toxapex and opposing Heatran. The Speed EVs allow Heatran to outspeed neutral-natured Aegislash and Magnezone; the remaining EVs are put into HP and Special Defense to maximize its bulk.

Grass-types are great partners, as they check bulky Water-types such as Tapu Fini and Slowking and benefit from Heatran's ability to pressure Steel-types. Rillaboom pairs well with Heatran, as it can pivot on Steel-types to bring in Heatran; furthermore, it weakens Earthquake from Swampert and Assault Vest Galarian Slowking. Defensive Landorus-T is also a great partner, as it can switch into and pressure common Ground-types such as opposing Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Excadrill. Heatran also helps Landorus-T by putting pressure on common Defoggers such as Corviknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. Since Heatran is able to cripple a lot of its defensive switch-ins, Pokemon that benefit from it like Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Tapu Lele are good partners.

[SET]
name: Offensive
move 1: Magma Storm
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Flash Fire
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

This set acts as an offensive wallbreaker that can pressure common defensive Pokemon by trapping them. Magma Storm allows Heatran to trap Toxapex and Blissey. Earth Power provides good coverage and hits Toxapex and opposing Heatran. Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Clefable, Slowking, Toxapex, and Blissey. Toxic cripples common switch-ins such as Slowking, Tyranitar, and Swampert, which makes it difficult for them to check it later.

Pivots such as Rillaboom and Tapu Koko make good teammates, as they lure in and pivot on Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory and Grass-types like Ferrothorn and Tangrowth, which Heatran can threaten to KO and force out. These Pokemon also take care of bulky Water-types that Heatran can often struggle with. Other Pokemon such as Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Nidoking are great partners as well, as they share common checks like Slowking and Tyranitar with Heatran, which can be overwhelmed trying to check both threats.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====
Protect helps Heatran gain passive recovery with Leftovers and wear down opposing Pokemon with chip damage from Magma Storm. Flame Body enables Heatran to better check Rillaboom and Melmetal and discourage the use of U-turn. However, this can be bad for Heatran, as it is unable to check Volcarona well without Flash Fire. Stealth Rock alongside Lava Plume are good options for Heatran, as it is a good Stealth Rock user that is able to pressure common Defoggers like Corviknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. These moves should only be used together, as they are underwhelming otherwise and leave it unable to punish Toxapex and Blissey. Magma Storm alongside Lava Plume can be a good choice, as it can cripple common switch-ins like Tyranitar and defensive Garchomp with a burn while also trapping and punishing defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey. Will-O-Wisp is also a good option, as it can burn switch-ins such as Tyranitar and defensive Garchomp, leaving them crippled due to their lack of reliable recovery. Heavy Slam is a good choice as well, as it pressures Pokemon like Tapu Lele, Clefable, Galarian Slowking, and Blissey. A set with Choice Specs and the moves Eruption / Solar Beam / Flamethrower/ Earth Power or Flash Cannon is decent on sun teams, as it lacks reliable switch-ins. However, this set is very vulnerable to chip damage, as it has no passive recovery with Leftovers. Furthermore, chip damage can be detrimental, as it reduces the Base Power of Eruption. Air Balloon protects Heatran from super effective Ground-type moves. It also makes it a good counter to opposing Heatran and defensive Garchomp and a temporary check for Excadrill, However, Air Balloon can be easily broken, leaving Heatran susceptible to chip damage.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Slowking, Tapu Fini, and Rotom-W can switch into Magma Storm and threaten to KO Heatran. Swampert and Gastrodon can threaten to OHKO Heatran and force it out, with Swampert also being able to pivot using Flip Turn; however, both Pokemon struggle to consistently switch in due to the threat of Toxic. Offensive Water-types like Urshifu-R and Barraskewda also threaten to KO it with their strong STAB moves.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types like defensive Garchomp, Hydreigon, and Dragonite are good checks to Heatran, as they resist Magma Storm and threaten to OHKO it. They can also shrug off any chip damage from Magma Storm using their recovery, but they should be wary of being crippled by Toxic. Dragonite is a notable check, as it can use Heal Bell to get rid of any status that Heatran dishes out. Kyurem can use Heatran as setup fodder with Substitute, and it is capable of OHKOing Heatran with a Choice Specs-boosted coverage option.

**Ground-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Ground-types like Landorus-T, Garchomp, Excadrill, and Nidoking can threaten to OHKO Heatran. Moreover, Pokemon such as Galarian Slowking and Tyranitar can take Heatran's hits quite well and threaten to possibly KO it with Earthquake; however, Galarian Slowking with Earthquake is rather uncommon.

**Residual Damage**: Heatran's lack of reliable recovery leaves it weak to residual damage from entry hazards, Leech Seed from Ferrothorn, and Sticky Barb from Trick Clefable, and it makes it vulnerable to repeated strong hits from the likes of Tornadus-T and Dragapult. Knock Off can make this worse, as it removes Heatran's only form of recovery in Leftovers.

**Fighting-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Kartana, and Tapu Lele run Fighting-type coverage moves to deal with Heatran and Steel-types and can threaten a KO on it and force it out. Fighting-types like Hawlucha, Urshifu-R, and Galarian Zapdos can also threaten it with an OHKO.

[Overview]

- Heatran's great defensive typing along with good stats and movepool allows it to check a large number of threats such as Magearna, Ferrothorn, Clefable, Tapu Lele and Volcarona.
- Heatran's ability to act as a stallbreaker and break through defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey with Magma Storm, Taunt and Toxic adds to its utility and can be very useful for the rest of the team. how is it useful for teams? you should talk about how teams can benefit with Toxapex or Blissey removed.
- It's ability to pressure common defogger such as Corviknight, Mandibuzz and Zapdos makes it a great Stealth Rock user as well
- Although it has great bulk, its neutrality to stealth rocks and lack of reliable recovery leaves it prone to chip damage from hazards. not just hazards, it doesn't want to take too many repeated hits from stuff like Magearna and Tornadus-T which are things that it is meant to check, so i'd mention that somewhere
- Heatrans high usage make the pokemon that get checked by it use coverage that can overwhelm it, such as Magearna and Tapu Lele you can squeeze another mention here, Moltres and Melmetal come to mind
- Heatrans low speed tier also leaves it prey to faster pokemon such as Landorus-T, Urshifu-RS, Zapdos-Galar and Excadrill.

[SET COMMENTS]

- Heatran acts as a great special wall that can also set up Stealth Rocks.
- Magma Storm allows it to trap pokemon such as Toxapex and Blissey, after which it can continue to Taunt them and chip them down with Earth Power eventually KO'ing it. you should mention how Magma Storm is also able to chip down potential switch ins like Garchomp, which can hurt its ability to check Heatran later on
- Lava Plume can also be a good choice over Magma Storm as it can burn potential switch ins and also deals reliable damage to Pokemon such as Ferrothorn and Magearna as it has more pp and it's a 100% accurate. what potential switch ins can it burn? Garchomp and Toxapex come to mind
- Taunt helps defeat walls such as Blissey, Clefable, and Toxapex as they rely a lot on their reliable recovery.
- Toxic can be useful in the last slot as it can wear down Heatran's defensive switch ins. such as?
- Heatran's EVs let it outspeed pokemon with base 60 speed such as Aegislash and Magnezone; the rest has been put into HP and Special Defense as to maximise its bulk.

no Earth Power mention here, I feel you should mention it, its pretty important against Toxapex and especially opposing Heatran, being walled by it sucks

- Pokemon that summon Grassy Terrain such as Rillaboom can be good partners since Heatran benefits from the passive healing that the terrain provides, Rillaboom also benefits from Heatrans ability to pressure opposing Corviknight and Ferrothorn and possibly KO them which can lead to Rillaboom cleaning easily. also mention how Grassy Terrain can weaken Earthquakes from stuff like Landorus-T and Excadrill
- Defensive Landorus-T can also make a good partner since it can free up a moveslot on Heatran allowing it to run Toxic, and it can switch into and pressure a lot of the common ground types, such as Excadrill, Garchomp, Opposing Landorus-T, and Swampert. Heatran can also help Landorus-T by switching into Ice-type moves aimed at it and putting pressure on common defoggers such as Corvknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. Heatran also threatens Ferrothorn which Landorus-T struggles with.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

- Protect can be a viable choice over Stealth Rocks / Toxic as it can offer passive recovery with Leftover and can pair well with Grassy Terrain as that can offer even more recovery for Heatran.

[SET]
name: Offensive

move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Stealth Rock / Toxic

- Heatran can deal a lot of damage with Magma Storm and even trap and deal chip damage to it's defensive switch ins.
- Earth Power can be used to chip down the Pokémon that are victims to Heatran's stall breaking abilities such as Blissey, Toxapex and Clefable. this isn't focusing in the right area at all. Earth Power is used for overwhelming Toxapex specifically and most importantly being able to hit opposing Heatran, Blissey and Clefable get overwhelmed by Magma Storm + Taunt alone anyway so they aren't important mentions.
- Taunt makes its stall breaking capabilities a lot better since it can prevent its victims from using their reliable recovery.
- Stealth Rocks can be used on the last slot if necessary since it ads utility other than being a stall breakers. Toxic can also be a great alternative since it can let it break through Pokémon such as Blissey easier, and cripple it's defensive switch ins. this doesn't really tell me anything. Stealth Rock adds utility to any Pokemon who can use it so Heatran isn't anything special in this regard, you need to focus on what makes Heatran different from other Stealth Rock setters, which is the fact that it pressures very prominent Defoggers.

- Rillaboom makes for a good partner since it can check defensive water types that can check Heatran while also offering Heatran passive recovery with its grassy terrain. It also benefits from Hetrans ability to pressure it's checks such as Mandibuzz, Zapdos, and Corviknight.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Water Types**: Bulky Water types such as Swampert and Tapu Fini can not only switch into it's Magma Storm they can also KO it with their Ground and Water stabs respectively. talk about how they cannot switch into Heatran repeatedly due to their lack of recovery.

**Levitating Dragon Types**: Levitating Dragon Types such as Latios and Hydreigon can switch into Heatran and not take much from its Magma Storm due to the resistance and since they're immune to it's Earth Power. They can also retaliate since they like to run coverage for Heatran. i don't think this should be specified to "levitating dragon types" dragon types in general are good in checking Heatran, since Garchomp is a reliable check as well.

**Bulky Fire resistances**: Bulky Fire resistances such as Tyranitar and Moltres also work as good checks for Heatran as they don't take much from Heatrans attacks and can run ground coverage to KO it.

**Offensive Water Types**: Offensive water types such as Barraskewda and Urshifu-RS are also able to pressure Heatran including the entire archetype of Rain.

ground types deserve to be mentioned here.

Protect should be slashed on SpDef set personally like this.

name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Magma Storm / Lava Plume
move 2: Earth Power
move 3: Taunt
move 4: Protect /Stealth Rock / Toxic

I guess if you want to emphasize SR more you can slash it first but I don't run Leftovers Heatran without protect. Combination of the above can pretty much guarantee kills and improve Heatrans longevity thanks to Protect/Lefties. I also don't think lava plume magma should be slashed together if anything Plume would be a forth slot or just another option.

Scarf set should be included, maybe Specs? Would include offensive grounds in checks and counters (mentioned in the AM QC above) seeing as in most situations on non Scarf sets you're pretty much forced out by them to not get KO'd.

Would probably make mention and not sure how to place this as hazards for checks and counters or just in the section on how to use Heatran. Heatran is the target of Spikes/SR so it can't keep coming in on these repeatedly to check stuff as it gets worn down (another benefit of lefties protect).

Edit: On second thought dont even slash Lava Plume it's worse than I imagined.

Sure lava Plume can Burn but what does Burning help Heatran with? What are Heatran's potential switch ins?
- Taunt helps defeat walls such as Blissey, Clefable, and Toxapex as they rely a lot on their reliable recovery. Taunt also stops opposing Pokemon from defogging
- Toxic can be useful in the last slot as it can wear down Heatran's defensive switch ins. What are Heatrans Defensive switch ins? Toxic also wears down incoming deffogers such as, Hydreigon, Mandibuzz and Tornadus-T.
- Heatran's EVs let it outspeed pokemon with base 60 speed such as Aegislash and Magnezone; the rest has been put into HP and Special Defense as to maximise its bulk.

As Zneon Mentioned, Earth Power was never mentioned in this section which need to be.

- Protect can be a viable choice over Taunt Stealth Rocks / Toxic as it can offer passive recovery with Leftover and can pair well with Grassy Terrain as that can offer even more recovery for Heatran. In my opinion Heatran needs to have at least Stealth rocks to be able to be a defensive threat, or Toxic to be able to be a Offensive threat. If i were to use Protect on Heatran it would always be over Taunt, still being able to be an offensive threat and defensive threat at the same time.

- Rillaboom makes for a good partner since it can check defensive water types that can check Heatran while also offering Heatran passive recovery with its grassy terrain. It also benefits from Hetrans ability to pressure it's checks such as Mandibuzz, Zapdos, and Corviknight. This isn't a good reason for Rillaboom to be a partner with Heatran, as the Water move Rillaboom would most likely be switchin into to is Scald, which you wouldn't want to be switching into with Rillaboom as your are risking a burn which would stop Rillaboom of being able to Pressure anything. I would prefer if you mentioned Slowbro, being able to switch into offensive Threats that Heatran wouldn't like so stay into like Garchomp, Excadrill, Swampert and Lando-T. And being able to make more Offensive options with Future Sight with pokemon like Cinderace.

Heatran's ability to act as a stallbreaker and break through defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey with Magma Storm, Taunt and Toxic adds to its utility and can be very useful for the rest of the team, as the removal of these key defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey can be beneficial for Heatran's teammates.
I think this makes more sense and gets the point across better.

Taunt helps defeat walls such as Blissey, Clefable, and Toxapex as they rely a lot on their reliable recovery. It also prevents pokemon from using defog.
I feel like you should definitely mention it stops Blissey and Slowking from using Teleport to get out of being trapped. You could also mention stopping Thunder Wave/Stealth Rock from Blissey and Clefable but that's up to you.

Grassy Terrain also weakens Earthquake from the likes of LandorusT, Excadrill, Tyranitar and Garchomp.
I know QC said to mention these Pokemon but I don't see why stuff like Landot / Garchomp should be mentioned since they can still OHKO Heatran in Grass Terrain or come close if they're running defensive sets.

Wouldn't it make more sense to just mention the other Earthquake users that can actually struggle in Grassy Terrain like Slowking-Galar and Tyranitar?

Flame Body can be a decent choice over Flash Fire as it can overwhelm cripple, punish etc. makes more sense Melmetal, Rillaboom and Uturn spam.

Taunt makes its stall breaking capabilities a lot better since it can prevent its victims from using their reliable recovery.
The thing about stopping Teleport applies even more so on this set.

Bulky Water types such as Swampert and Tapu Fini can not only switch into it's Magma Storm they can also KO it with their Water STABS
Flip Turn on Swampert isn't a very reliable way of KOing Heatran. I imagine it'd rather use EQ. Also, is there a reason Slowking can't be mentioned here?

- Heatran can deal a lot of damage with Magma Storm and even trap and deal chip damage to it's defensive switch ins such as Garchomp and Tyranitar which can make them unable to consistently switch into it.
- Earth Power is used to break through Toxapex and opposing Heatran. It can also be used to chip down potential victims of its stall breaking.
- Taunt makes its stall breaking capabilities a lot better since it can prevent its victims from using their reliable recovery.

- Corviknight can be a good partner as it can switch into offensive threats such as LandorusT, Garchomp, Excadrill and Swampert which Heatran can struggle with. I personally don't like this, double steel isn't doing it for me, I would prefer if your mentioned Rillaboom, being able to pressure all the Ground types you mentioned whilst weakening their Earthquakes. Whilst being able to switch into one of the main answers to Heatran, Tapu Fini. Slowbro is also a good choice since it can put offensive pressure on these mons using Future Sight. Expand on what Slowbro can do for Heatran, like being able to pivot out with Teleport on pokemon that would normally switch into Slowbro like Zapdos, Ferrothorn and Tapu-Koko etc.

- A Choice Specs set can also be decent on sun teams with the moves Eruption, Solar Beam / Flamethrower, Earth Power and Flash Canon as it has no reliable switch ins. This set is however very prone to chip damage as it has no passive recovery with Leftovers and chip damage can be detrimental as it reduces the base power of Eruption.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Water Types**: Bulky Water types such as Slowking, Swampert and Tapu Fini can not only switch into it's Magma Storm they can also KO it with their Water STABS Tapu Fini cannot OHKO Heatran without a crit, just say swampert can. However due to their lack of reliable recovery they cannot switch into Heatran repeatedly. Bulky waters also need to be aware of offensive threats such as Rillaboom which Heatran is often paired with. Mention that Swampert being to Pivot out on a switch with Flip Turn.

**Dragon Types**: Dragon Types such as Latios, Hydreigon and Garchomp are reliable checks for Heatran as they resist the Magma Storms and can run super-effective coverage for it which often KOs it. They can also shrug off any chip damage from Magma Storm using recovery moves. Say how they can all be crippled by Toxic and Hydreigon is able to Defog Heatrans Rocks whilst forcing Heatran too switch out being scared of an Earth Power.

**Bulky Fire resistances**: Bulky Fire resistances such as Tyranitar, Forcing it out with Earthquake and Moltres pressuring it with Scorching Sands. also work as good checks for Heatran as they don't take much from Heatrans attacks and can run ground coverage to KO it. These pokemon should be aware of Toxic as they can struggle to check Heatran after they have been statused.

**Offensive Water Types**: Offensive water types such as Barraskewda and Urshifu-RS are also able to pressure Heatran including the archetype of Rain. Expand this bye Mentioning what Barraskewda and Urshifu Rapid-Strike threatens Heatran with.

**Ground Types**: Ground types such as Landorus-T, Excadrill, Nidoking and Garchomp can easily KO Heatran with their quadruple super-effective STAB ground moves Earthquake.

qc 1/2 when done

- Heatran's great defensive typing along with good stats and movepool allows it to check a large number of threats such as Clefable, Tapu Lele and Volcarona. I want you to move this below the following point; by having this be the first point, you're giving off the impression that this is primarily a defensive mon, which it definitely isn't. I want you to prioritise mentioning its offensive traits if possible, given that those offensive qualities that actually makes it good in the first place, not vice versa. That aside, I want you to replace the clef and lele mentions with specs pult and np torn respectively; the majority of clef are running sticky barb w/ trick, while lele's never really had any trouble with tran beyond it pivoting into a choice locked moonblast, so neither are particularly good examples. To explain why I've asked you to mention np torn - the most reliable set rn has heat wave and knock for coverage, which means that even if tran's been knocked, its still technically walling it, which you can't really say about the other two mentions.

- Heatran's bulk moveset and bulk allows it to act as a stallbreaker and break through defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey with Magma Storm, Taunt and Toxic adds to its utility and can be very useful for the rest of the team, as the removal of key defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey can be beneficial. I want you to emphasise its offensive qualities, because as it stands, this really doesn't sell why Heatran is so offensively potent. I want to you describe how difficult it is to switch into without it crippling something like Slowking, Hydreigon, or Rotom-W etc. and discuss how even those mons can eventually get overwhelmed.

If you want to discuss its bulk, it's probably worth mentioning that it's bulky enough to eat a hit from a few of its checks, which lets it trap a lot of the slower mons (ie slowking, rotom-w, etc. a bit easier.)

- It's ability to pressure common defogger such as Corviknight, Mandibuzz and Zapdos makes it a great Stealth Rock user as well. This is completely irrelevant.

- Although it has great bulk, its neutrality to stealth rocks and lack of reliable recovery leaves it prone to chip damage from hazards. It also dislikes taking repeated strong hits from the likes of Tornadus-T and Tapu Lele since it lacks a way of reliable recovery. I'd like to see some mentions of its tendencies of having its lefties removed; I'd like to see mentions of how its unable to check mons that its supposed to be able to check, specifically stuff like trick barbs clef, ferro, and cb rilla. Mention how it's also often forced to switch into these mons anyways, as tran's usually the only immediate way of stopping the aforementioned from crippling other mons.

- Heatrans high usage make the pokemon that get checked by it use coverage that can overwhelm it, such as Tapu Lele, Melmetal, Hydreigon and Slowking-Galar. Again, I'd rather you mention trick barbs clef and sub epower kyurem instead of something like melm since that's the perfect example of something that genuinely rose up to counterract heatran; lele and melm would naturally run their coverage regardless of whether Heatran was in the tier or not so there's no reason to mention these mons. I'd also prefer it if you were to mention its relatively exploitable typing here instead of high usage or whatever, given that it just explains a lot of larger issues to a newer audience.

- Heatrans low speed tier also leaves it prey to faster pokemon such as Landorus-T, Urshifu-RS, Nidoking and Excadrill. These mentions are excessive; replace the shifu, nido and driller mentions with lele and kyurem; elaborate on why this hinders offensive variants.

set should look like this; rocks and lava plume are definitely not consistent enough to be mentioned here.

[SET COMMENTS]

the grammar in this section can be refined; while I don't necessarily think that simplicity is bad, you've simplified a few really important sections to the point where it's generally quite vague. There's also an issue of consistency with the rest of the site; Try to refrain from using terminology such as 'U-turn spam', 'defeat', 'defoggers', and so forth, since it just sounds unprofessional. There's a few other things here and there, which I'll point out as I go through this section, so make sure you thoroughly read this check.

- Heatran acts as a great special wall that can also set up Stealth Rocks. remove this entirely and refer to the above; it's generally unnecessary, given that it doesn't really add anything that isn't already common knowledge, nor does it really establish why it's good option for a rocker. Yeah there were mentions of it in the overview, but it doesn't hurt to re-establish that given that there's a fair few people that would skip the overview in its entirety, nor can you assume that everything in the overview would automatically apply to every set.
- Magma Storm allows it to trap pokemon such as Toxapex and Blissey, after which it can continue to Taunt them and chip them down with Earth Power eventually KO'ing it. Magma Storm can also chip down potential switch ins such as Garchomp which can hurt their ability to check Heatran later on. The first half of this point just sounds pretty messy; I know it's generally difficult to describe the interraction with these mons, but I feel like you've unnecessarily complicated things. Leaving it at "Magma Storm enables Heatran to trap xyz" works, given that it's not only accurate, but you have the room to elaborate further in the points below. Hell, you've practically already done that, so there's really no need to include all of this to begin with.
- Lava Plume can also be a good choice over Magma Storm as it can burn potential switch ins like Toxapex and Garchomp, it also deals reliable damage to Pokemon such as Ferrothorn as it has more pp and it's a 100% accurate. It is also more useful against offensive teams since it can be very useful against physical attackers and Magma Storm missing can be bad in the long haul. remove this
- Taunt helps defeat walls such as Blissey, Clefable, and Toxapex as they rely a lot on their reliable recovery. It also prevents pokemon from using defog. remove the defog mentions; now this is where you should be properly elaborating on the blissey vs heatran interraction. If you were to rephrase the line "Taunt helps defeat walls such as Blissey, Clefable, and Toxapex as they rely a lot on their reliable recovery" (also refer to the cross-site terminology) to something like "Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Toxapex, Blissey, and Clefable" then that works. Add mentions of blocking Slowking's teleport + recovery too, since that's always pretty important.
- Toxic can be useful in the last slot as it can wear down Heatran's defensive switch ins such as Tyranitar, Garchomp and Slowking. I want this ordered by viabiliy; replace garchomp with hydra, given that sd chomp really wants to be preserving its hp as much as possible. It can also cripple incoming defoggers such as Tornadus-T, Hydreigon, Dragonite and Mandibuzz. these mentions can also all be removed.
- Heatran's EVs let it outspeed pokemon with base 60 speed such as Aegislash and Magnezone tedious by now, I know, I know, but I want you to refer to the cross-site terminology - I want this to be specifically phrased as "The speed EVs allow Heatran to outspeed Neutral Natured xyz"; the rest has been put into HP and Special Defense as to maximise its bulk.
- Earth Power is a great move you get the drill, cross site reference etc. etc.; have this be phrased as "provides good coverage, allowing you to hit xyz" in this set as it allows it to break through Toxapex and opposing Heatran as it is walled by them otherwise.

add mentions of Heavy Slam, describe how it allows Heatran to beat Galarian Slowking, Blissey, Lele, Clef etc. much more efficiently.

Few more things to talk about: There's a lot of filler in this section. Might sound strange given that I'm telling you to add a bit more depth in a few sections, but there's a lot of unnecessary stuff in the paragraph below. Take this (
Rillaboom also benefits from Heatrans ability to pressure opposing Corviknight and Ferrothorn and possibly KO them which can lead to Rillaboom cleaning easily) for example: It really doesn't add anything that a very shot line (eg: Rillaboom also appreciates Heatran's ability to force out Steel-types) about forcing steel types couldn't do. There's a few other instances of this throughout the entire analysis, but it's particularly bad here, so make sure you remove all of that unnecessary shit if you can.

I know I literally just commented on this, but I wanted to add a few more details to this. I personally hate this mentality of "mons with different checks ideally removing partner mon with very different checks" (if you understand what I mean, ping me if this is a little confusing) because it creates a really shitty mentality with newer players and builders where they assume most people don't switch and the steel goes down to the fire type, which really isn't happening, so I want you to go ahead and remove all mentions that are like this. Grassy Terrain also weakens Earthquake from the likes of LandorusT, Excadrill, Tyranitar and Garchomp. Yeah but it still doesn't want to take an eq from any of these, so this is all completely irrelevant.

- Defensive Landorus-T can also make a good partner since it can free up a moveslot on Heatran allowing it to run Toxic, and it can switch into and pressure a lot of the common ground types, such as Excadrill, Garchomp, Opposing Landorus-T, and Swampert. In what universe does a defensive lando want to switch into a pert? Heatran can also help Landorus-T by switching into Ice-type moves aimed at it ok let's decontruct this: there's only a small handful of mons that commonly run ice-type moves, and those are the viable ice-types, defensive dragonite, and nidoking. Pretty much all of the viable Ice-types are able to beat Heatran*, while defensive dnite runs eq. Refer to the filler point from above. and putting pressure on common defoggers such as Corvknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. Heatran also threatens Ferrothorn which Landorus-T struggles with.

I want to see mons that pairs well offensively; add mentions of stuff like torn, lele, dragapult, etc. which appreciate stuff like slowking, hydra, and ttar etc. being crippled.

always runs either earth power or focus blast
knocks it, also commonly runs low kick

always runs ground coverage, can afford to take a magma
veils into hypnosis
bolt beak always 2hkos, also commonly runs ground coverage

*Refer to the set comments in regards to terminology. Add mentions of negative impacts these moves have on Heatran.

- Protect can be a viable choice over Taunt as it can offer passive recovery with Leftover and can pair well with Grassy Terrain as that can offer even more recovery for Heatran.
- Flame Body can be a decent choice over Flash Fire as it can overwhelm Melmetal, Rillaboom and Uturn spam. This set however loses to Volcarona which is not great as Heatran otherwise walls Volcarona with Flash Fire.

add mentions of: Stealth Rock + Lava Plume (specifically mention that they should only ever be used together), Protect, Wisp, and Lava Plume + Magma Storm here. That's pretty much everything QC wanted in oo iirc.

[SET]

move 3: Taunt
move 4: Stealth Rock / Toxic
item: Leftovers
ability: Flash Fire
nature: Timid / Modest
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

same deal here: remove rocks from the set.

Since this is basically the same as the defensive set, everything I said up there applies down here.

- Stealth Rocks can be used on the last slot if necessary since it can be quite useful as Heatran is able to pressure common defoggers such as Corviknight and Zapdos. Toxic Paired with Taunt can also be a great alternative since it can let it break through Pokémon such as Blissey easier, and cripple it's defensive switch ins.

Same goes for this too, although there should be some emphasis on the offensive partners that actually synergise with these mons.

- Rillaboom can be a good partner for Heatran as it is able to weaken Earthquakes from the likes of Garchomp, Excadrill, LandorusT and Swampert which can threaten Heatran greatly due to its quadruple weakness to ground. Rillaboom can also pivot on some of its checks such as Zapdos, Corviknight and Skarmory to Heatran so it can possibly KO them or atleast force them out. It can also switch into and force out one of the main Heatran answers being Tapu Fini.

-Slowbro also makes for a good partner as it can help with Heatrans weakness to the archetype of rain as it helps with common abusers such as Barraskewda and Urshifu-RS. It can also put offensive pressure on the opponent with Future Sight or Teleport out of common switch ins such as Ferrothorn, Zapdos, and Tapu Koko which Heatran can make quick work of. I mean I don't really understand this mention at all; why is rain suddenly such a high priority to the point where it needs its own point? We're talking about a fringe viable playstyle here, not something that's super important.

I'll come back to this since I want to clarify a few things w/ the rest of QC, but the general idea was that people wanted an air balloon set mentioned down here? I don't really think it needs inclusion now that tankchomp is practically dead but that's what we apparently want

Checks and Counters
====

This section is a grammatical mess, please clean this up before you submit this to GP. I also want you to go through all of this and get rid of as much filler as possible; these points are so ridiculously bloated, that I really don't understand how this passed the first check.

**Bulky Water Types**: Bulky Water types such as Slowking, Swampert and Tapu Fini can not only switch into it's Magma Storm they can also KO it with their Water and Ground STABs This is completely unnecessary when it only applies to two mons. If the point was discussing ground-types, then sure mention the ground stab, but this isn't the place for that. Swampert can even threaten an OHKO on Heatran. I'm getting really fucking tired of mentioning this, but again, refer to my point on cross-site consistency; just phrase this as "Swampert and Gastrodon threaten to ohko it" and just let it make a cohesive sentence it can also pivot on the switch using Flip Turn. Make this a separate point. Due to their lack of reliable recovery Tapu Fini and Swampert cannot switch into Heatran repeatedly. Merge this point with the offensive water types; there's no reason to have them separated when they can be placed under the same umbrella. Add mentions of rotom-w and gastrodon here.

**Dragon Types**: Dragon Types such as Latios, Hydreigon and Garchomp replace the lati mention with dragonite; reoder this by viability. I also don't know how I feel about mentioning Garchomp as a reliable check to Heatran, when offensive sets want to stay as healthy as possible; specify defensive chomp here are reliable checks for Heatran as they resist the Magma Storms and can run super-effective coverage for it which often KOs it. Again, all of this is completely unnecessary, just mention that they resist Magma and threaten to OHKO back, nothing hard. They can also shrug off any chip damage from Magma Storm using recovery moves. Hydreigon can also defog away its Stealth Rocks while also forcing it out by threatening a KO with Earth Power. Hydreigon don't run defog anymore, remove this. All of these Pokemon can be crippled by Toxic however so be careful. add mentions of dragonite being able to remove status through heal bell. Also add mentions of kyurem; mention how sub variants can use it as setup fodder, while specs can threaten to ohko it in return.

**Offensive Water Types**: Offensive water types such as Barraskeda and Urshifu-RS who force out Heatran with their usually Rain booster STAB water moves. These pokemon cannot however switch into Heatran as they have lackluster Special Defense and can be crippled by Toxic.

**Ground Types and Coverage**: Ground types such as LandorusT, Excadrill, Nidoking and Garchomp can easily KO Heatran with their quadruple super-effective Earthquake please for the love of god just leave this at "threaten to ohko heatran" On the other hand pokemon such as Slowking-Galar and Tyranitar who can absorb Heatrans hits easily run Ground type coverage in Earthquake to threaten Heatran and possibly KO it.
Glowbro doesn't run always run eq; specifically mention that it's uncommon.

Add mentions of residual damage; we've already described it earlier, but mention hazard damage, clef trick, ferro seeds etc. I also want a point of fighting-types and fighting-type coverage.

When you mention Air Balloon in OO, I think it's worth highlighting opposing Heatran as one of the Pokemon it lets it take on reliably, as it is completely immune to both Magma Storm and EP while the balloon is intact and forces it out with the threat of its own Earth Power, which in turn lets it generate opportunities to click Magma Storm or Toxic. Obviously, you lose the immunity once your balloon has been popped, meaning you need to be more careful about when you stay in to tank the Scald vs whatever you're trapping/eliminating, but it's a very handy piece of defensive utility to have if you don't mind switching out until you think the balloon is no longer necessary.

:ss/Heatran:
[Overview]

Heatran has cemented itself as one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame. The combination of Magma Storm, Taunt, and Toxic, makes Heatran almost impossible to deal with defensively, being able to overwhelm its checks throughout the course of a game. Additionally, its fantastic typing allows it to check a large number of threats such as Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona. Its neutrality to stealth rocks and lack of reliable recovery makes it dislike taking repeated strong hits from the likes of Tornadus-T and Choice Specs Dragapult. The abundance of Knock Off users especially ones such as Rillaboom, Clefable and Ferrothorn, who are pokemon it is able to check otherwise, does not help with its issues in longevity. Sorry, I should've addressed this earlier, but I feel like you could probably condense this into a single line about a lack of reliable recovery hurting it on the defensive end. Heatrans exploitable typin make the pokemon that get checked by it use coverage that can overwhelm it, such as Kyurem, Hydreigon and Slowking-Galar. Again, this is entirely on me, but your original lele example works way better than the hydra + glowking mentions. My bad! Its low speed tier also leaves it prey to faster pokemon such as Landorus-T, Kyurem and Tapu Lele. This can be hindering to offensive sets as it is not able to take hits as well and can often be KO'd by their coverage options.

[SET COMMENTS]

I've gone ahead and fixed the spacing, but be careful next time :smogduck:

This set acts as a good specially defensive wall capable of checking threats such as Tornadus-T probably worth clarifying that you stuff sets lacking blast, Choice Specs Dragapult and Volcarona. Magma Storm enables Heatran to trap pokemon like Toxapex and Blissey. Magma Storm can also chip down potential switch ins such as Garchomp which can hurt their ability to check Heatran later on. Again, you could shorten this so it reads like "Magma Traps xy while chipping down checks such as Garchomp and Swampert" which just makes everything a lot more clear. Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Clefable, Toxapex, Slowking and Blissey. Toxic is useful in the last slot as it can wear down Heatran's defensive switch ins such as Hydreigon, Slowking and Tyranitar. It's worth clarifying that you need Toxic to trap Blissey.Earth Power provides good coverage, allowing you to hit Toxapex and opposing Heatran. The speed EVs allow Heatran to outspeed Neutral Natured Aegislash and Magnezone; the rest has been put into HP and Special Defense as to maximise its bulk.

Rillaboom can be a good partner since Heatran benefits from the passive healing that the terrain provides, Rillaboom also benefits from Heatrans ability to pressure opposing Steel-types. There's no need to have this limited this to rillaboom; expand on this by mentioning Grasses in general, and then have a Rillaboom be its own little example at the end. If you do that, then that would let you mention how terrain lets you absorb weaker earthquakes from av glowking or swampert. Defensive Landorus-T can also make a good partner since it can switch into and pressure a lot of the common ground types, such as Excadrill, Garchomp, and Opposing Landorus-T. reorder this by viability. Heatran can also help Landorus-T by putting pressure on common defoggers such as Corvknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. Since Heatran is able to cripple a lot of its defensive switch ins pokemon that can make use of it like Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Tapu Lele make good partners.

There's still a fair bit of grammatical fluff here and it's pretty distracting. You could easily remove phrases like "can be a good partner since..." and "putting pressure on common defoggers" and rework those leftover sentences into relatively simple compounds sentences. So for example: "Grass types pair well with heatran since they check xyz, while Heatran is able to do blah in return". GP feel free to crucify me later, but for the time being, I'd rather you structure it like that as opposed to unnecessarily elongating everything.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

A set with Protect helps Heatran gain passive recovery with Leftovers and can help gain chip damage with Magma Storm. Flame Body can be a viable choice since it enables Heatran to check Rillaboom and Melmetal better and can discourage the use of U-turn. However this can be bad for Heatran since it disables its ability to check Volcarona well. Stealth Rock along with Lava Plume can be a good option on Heatran since it is a good Stealth Rock user as it can pressure common Defog users like Corviknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. These moves should only be used together as they are underwhelming otherwise and can leave it unable to punish Toxapex and Blissey. Magma Storm along with Lava Plume can be a good choice as it can cripple common switch ins like Tyranitar and Defensive Garchomp with a burn and also trap and punish defensive walls like Toxapex and Blissey. Will-O-Wisp can also be good on Heatran as it can burn switch ins such as Tyranitar and Defensive Garchomp which can leave them crippled since they lack reliable recovery. Heavy Slam is also a good choice since it can pressure pokemon like Tapu Lele, Clefable, Slowking-Galar, and Blissey.

[SET]

move 3: Taunt
move 4: Toxic

This set acts as a offensive wallbreaker that can pressure common defensive pokemon by trapping them. Magma Storm allows Heatran to trap Toxapex and Blissey. Earth Power provides good coverage and let's it hit Toxapex and opposing Heatran. Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Clefable, Slowking, Toxapex, and Blissey. Toxic allows Heatran to cripple common switch ins such as Slowking, Tyranitar and Swampert leaving them crippled and hurting their ability to check Heatran later on.

Rillaboom can be a good partner for Heatran as it can pivot on some of its checks such as Zapdos, Corviknight and Skarmory to Heatran so it pressure them or out. It can also switch into and force out one of the main Heatran answers being Tapu Fini. Pokemon such as Dragapult, Nidoking, Tapu Lele, Tornadus-T, Tapu Koko, Kyurem and Volcarona make good offensive Partners for Heatran since they benefit from its ability to cripple common Specially Defensive pokemon such as Tyranitar, Blissey and Slowking. this is way too crowded; I want you to split this up into a section of pivots, and elaborate on how they synergise, as well as a section of other wallbreakers that appreciate it wearing down shared checks. Elaborate on how they benefit each other.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

A Choice Specs set can also be decent on sun teams with the moves Eruption, Solar Beam / Flamethrower, Earth Power and Flash Canon as it has no reliable switch ins. This set is however very prone to chip damage as it has no passive recovery with Leftovers and chip damage can be detrimental as it reduces the base power of Eruption. Air Balloon can also be a viable option over Leftovers as it can protect Heatran from super effective ground moves, it also makes it a good counter to other Heatran and Defensive Garchomp, It also makes it a temporary check for Excadrill, however the Air Balloon can be easily broken leaving Heatran susceptible to chip damage.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Water Types**: Bulky Water types such as Slowking, Swampert ,Tapu Fini, Gastrodon and Rotom-Wash can not only switch into it's Magma Storm they can also threaten to KO it. This is entirely my fault so let me fix this: You can remove mentions of gastrodon and swampert here since this is kinda getting a little cluttered. Swampert and Gastrodon can also threaten to ohko it. Swampert can also pivot on the switch using Flip Turn. Due to their lack of reliable recovery Tapu Fini and Swampert cannot switch into Heatran repeatedly. Again, this was my bad, but if you could merge those three points together so it reads like "Swampert and Gastrodon are both capable of forcing Heatran out but struggle to consistently switch in due of the threat of Toxic. Offensive Water Types like Urshifu-RS and Barraskewda also threaten to KO it with their strong water STABs.

The only issue with the section below is the phrasing, so try to touch this up before you send this off to GP.

**Dragon Types**: Dragon Types such as Defensive Garchomp, Hydreigon and Dragonite are reliable checks for Heatran as they resist the Magma Storms and threaten to OHKO it back. They can also shrug off any chip damage from Magma Storm using recovery moves. All of these Pokemon can be crippled by Toxic however so be careful. Dragonite can also use Heal Bell to get rid of the status that Heatran can offer. Kyurem is another Dragon-type that can help with Heatran as its substitute sets can use it for setup fodder while its Choice Specs set can threaten to ohko it in return.

**Ground Types and Coverage**: Ground types such as LandorusT, Excadrill, Nidoking and Garchomp can threaten to ohko heatran. On the other hand pokemon such as Slowking-Galar and Tyranitar who can absorb Heatrans hits easily run Ground type coverage in Earthquake to threaten Heatran and possibly KO it. However Slowking-Galar with Earthquake is rather uncommon.

**Residual Damage**: Heatrans lack of reliable recovery makes it very susceptible to residual damage like hazards, leech seed from Ferrothorn and Sticky Barb Trick Clefable. Mention strong repeated hits and knock off.

**Fighting Types and coverage**: A lot of pokemon such as Tornadus-T, Kartana, Tapu Lele run fighting type coverage to deal with Heatran and steel types in general as they can threaten a KO with it and force it out. Fighting types like Hawlucha, Urshifu-RS and Zapdos-Galar can also threaten it with an ohko.

Ground-types, Water-types, Grass-types is always capital for the typing itself meaning Ground, Water, and Grass, then there is ALWAYS a DASH following and types will be lower, not capitalized.

If you list down a couple of Pokemon it is always like that (this is an example): Heatran, Rillaboom, and Tapu Lele. That means there will ALWAYS be a comma after the last Pokemon, then a space and after it the and Tapu Lele is following.

The word Pokemon itself will always be capitalized. Stuff like OHKO will always be capitalized.

After words like "as" there will most of the time if not always be a comma, means as example: Heatran acts as a great wallbreaker, as it can threaten....

This is help for you for future reference. These are ONLY the very obvious things I've pointed out to make it easier for you. However, you can add / remove what you like!

Its neutrality to sStealth rRocks and lack of reliable recovery hurts it on the defensive end, making it unable to take strong hits repeatedly and losing to common Knock Off users like Ferrothorn and Rillaboom which it can check otherwise. Heatrans highly exploitable typing make the pPokemon that get checked by it use coverage that can overwhelm it, such as Kyurem, and Tapu Lele. Its low sSpeed tier also leaves it prey to faster pPokemon such as Landorus-T, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele. This can be hindering to offensive sets as it is not able to take hits as well and can often be KO'd by their coverage options.

This set acts as a good specially defensive wall capable of checking threats such as Tornadus-T lacking Focus Blast, Choice Specs Dragapult, and Volcarona. Magma Storm enables Heatran to trap pPokemon like Toxapex and Blissey. Magma Storm traps Toxapex and Blissey, while chipping down checks such as Garchomp and Swampert. Taunt allows Heatran to overwhelm Clefable, Toxapex, Slowking, and Blissey. Toxic is useful in the last slot as it can wear down Heatran's defensive switch-ins such as Hydreigon, Slowking, and Tyranitar while also helping to break through Blissey. Earth Power provides good coverage, allowing youHeatran to hit Toxapex ands well as opposing Heatran. The sSpeed EVs allow Heatran to outspeed Neutral Natured Aegislash and Magnezone; the rest has been put into HP and Special Defense as to maximisze its bulk.

Grass-types makare goodreat partners, asince they benefit from Heatran's ability to pressure Steel-types, and check Bulky Water-types such as Tapu Fini and Slowking. Rillaboom is a grass type that pairs very well with Heatran, as it can pivot on Steel-types to Heatran as well as let Heatran absorb weaker Earthquakes from Swampert and Assault Vest Slowking-Galar. Defensive Landorus-T canis also make a gooda great partner, asince it can switch into and pressure a lot of the common gGround-types, such as Oopposing Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Excadrill. Heatran can also help Landorus-T by putting pressure on common defoggers such as Corvknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. A set with Protect helps Heatran gain passive recovery with Leftovers and can help gain chip damage with Magma Storm. A Set with Choice Specs iset can also be decent on sun teams with the moves Eruption, Solar Beam / Flamethrower, Earth Power and Flash Cannon, as it has no reliable switch-ins. THowever, this sSet is however very prone to chip damage as it has no passive recovery with Leftovers and chip damage can be detrimental, as it reduces the bBase pPower of Eruption. Air Balloon can also be a viable option over Leftovers, as it can protect Heatran from super effective gGround-type moves, i. However, the Air Balloon can be easily broken leaving Heatran susceptible to chip damage.

Swampert and Gastrodon can also threaten to ohkoOHKO it. Swampert can also pivot on the switch using Flip Turn. Swampert and Gastrodon are both capable of forcing Heatran out, but they struggle to consistently switch in dubecause of the threat of Toxic. Offensive Water Types like Urshifu-RS and Barraskewda also threaten to KO it with their strong water STAB moves.

**Dragon T-types**: Dragon T-types like Defensive Garchomp, Hydreigon, and Dragonite are good checks forto Heatran, as they resist the Magma Storms and threaten to OHKO it backin return. They can also shrug off any chip damage from Magma Storm using their recovery. However, these Pokemon can be crippled by Toxic so be careful. Dragonite can also use Heal Bell to get rid of any status that Heatran can offerdishes out. Kyurem is another Dragon-type that can help with Heatran, as its sSubstitute sets can use it for setup fodder while its Choice Specs set can threaten to ohkoOHKO it in return.

**Ground T-types and Coverage**: Ground-types like Landorus-T, Excadrill, Nidoking, and Garchomp can threaten to ohkoOHKO Heatran. On the other hand pPokemon such as Slowking-Galar and Tyranitar who can absorb Heatran's hits run Ground-type coverage in Earthquake to threaten Heatran and possibly KO it. However, Slowking-Galar with Earthquake is rather uncommon.

**Residual Damage**: Heatrans lack of reliable recovery makes it very susceptible to residual damage like entry hazards, lLeech sSeed from Ferrothorn, Sticky Barb Trick Clefable and taking repeated strong hits from the likes of Tornadus-T and Dragapult. Knock Off can make this worse, asince it removes its only form of recovery being Leftovers.

**Fighting T-types and cCoverage**: A lot of pPokemon such as Tornadus-T, Kartana, and Tapu Lele run fFighting-type coverage to deal with Heatran and sSteel-types in general, as they can threaten a KO with it and force it out. A set with Protect helps Heatran to gain passive recovery with Leftovers and help with wearing down opposing Pokemon with chip damage due to Magma Storm. Flame Body can be a viable choice, as it enables Heatran to check Rillaboom and Melmetal better and can discourage the use of U-turn. However, this can be bad for Heatran, as its ability to check Volcarona well gets disabled. Stealth Rock alongside Lava Plume are good options for Heatran, as it is a good Stealth Rock user, that is able to pressure common Defog users like Corviknight, Zapdos, and Mandibuzz. These moves should only be used together, as they are underwhelming otherwise and leaves it unable to punish Toxapex and Blissey. Magma Storm alongside Lava Plume can be a good choice, as it can cripple common switch-ins like Tyranitar and defensive Garchomp with a burn and it also traps and punishes defensive walls such as Toxapex and Blissey. Will-O-Wisp is also a good option, as it can burn switch-ins such as Tyranitar and defensive Garchomp which can leaves them crippled, due to the lack of reliable recovery. [Overview]

Heatran cements itself as one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame. The combination of Magma Storm, Taunt, and Toxic,(remove punctuation) makes Heatran almost impossible to deal with defensively, as it is able to overwhelm its checks throughout the game. Additionally, its Heatran's fantastic typing allows it to check a large number of threats such as Dragapult, Tornadus-T, and Volcarona. Its neutrality to Stealth Rocks and lack of reliable recovery hurts it on the defensive end, making it lose to common Knock Off users like Ferrothorn and Rillaboom, which it can otherwise check, and leaving it unable to repeatedly take strong hits repeatedly and losing to common Knock Off users like Ferrothorn and Rillaboom which it can check otherwise. Heatran's(add apostrophe) highly exploitable typing make the Pokemon that get checked by it use coverage that can overwhelm it,(RC) can be taken advantage by Pokemon it is suppose to check such as Kyurem, and Tapu Lele,(AC) as they carry coverage that can overwhelm it. Its Heatran's low Speed tier also leaves it vulnerable to faster Pokemon such as Landorus-T, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele. This is hindering to its offensive sets,(unbold) as its it is not able to take hits that well and can often be KO'd KOed by their coverage options.
