[OVERVIEW]

Bug
========

Heracross is useful on Bug-type teams as a revenge killer, with its high Attack stat and average Speed tier allowing it to effectively come in and revenge kill threats to Bug-type teams. With Choice Scarf, Heracross's Speed tier notably lets it outspeed Mega Lopunny and Charizard and secure KOs against them. However, its middle-ground Speed tier means it is outsped by a lot of other Choice Scarf Pokemon, such as Latios, Victini, and Nihilego, though in several cases this can be remedied slightly by effective use of Sticky Web. Heracross's Fighting typing also allows it to hit types like Rock, Normal, and Steel that Bug-type teams commonly struggle to deal with, and its ability Moxie gives it a lot of potential to sweep teams late-game with its choice of coverage and STAB moves. However, Heracross is walled by common Pokemon such as Skarmory, Celesteela, and Toxapex, which it fails to 2HKO and allows them to recover safely. Heracross also is quite weak to priority attackers, especially after Close Combat Defense drops. Status effects are also very threatening to Heracross, as paralysis and burn cripple its roles as a Choice Scarf revenge killer and potential late-game sweeper. Furthermore, Heracross can be easily checked due to its STAB moves having poor coverage individually.

Moves
========
Close Combat is Heracross strongest Fighting-type STAB move, allowing it to hit several types that can be a problem for Bug-types, such as Rock, Steel, and Normal, for super effective damage and become a large asset to Bug by checking these types. Megahorn is Heracross's strongest Bug-type STAB attack and can be spammed against Psychic- and Dark-type teams. It can also threaten out Victini after a V-create. Stone Edge can hit Flying-types, which are very threatening to Bug-type teams. Pursuit is a useful choice for taking out weakened Pokemon that are forced out by Heracross; it is also vital for breaking Heatran's Air Balloon as it switches out in fear of Close Combat, leaving it susceptible to Ground-type attacks. Knock Off is a secondary choice because it can remove items from annoying Pokemon such as Toxapex and Skarmory, can deal a lot of damage to Ghost-types, and is also a stronger general purpose Dark-type attack for these types.

Set Details
========

Heracross uses maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly nature with a Choice Scarf to outspeed many threats such as non-Choice Scarf Latios, Mega Lopunny, and slower Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Tapu Bulu. Maximum investment in Attack makes Heracross as strong as possible. Moxie boosts Heracross's Attack after it KOes a Pokemon, meaning it can easily sweep teams late-game.

Usage Tips
========

Use Heracross to revenge kill Pokemon threatening to Bug-types. It can knock out Steel-type threats like Heatran, KO Victini with Megahorn, and remove other Fire-types with Stone Edge. It is important to try to prevent Heracross from getting inflicted with status, as burn and paralysis cripple Heracross as a revenge killer and poison wears it down faster. Heracross has great potential to sweep late-game with Moxie, and a boost can allow it to break Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hippowdon. Try not to let Heracross get worn down by entry hazards, weak attacks, and status, as they leave it in range of priority attacks from opposing Pokemon. Keep Heracross healthy in tougher matchups like Flying and Normal, as it can potentially sweep through these teams late-game with Stone Edge and Close Combat, respectively. Pursuit is a useful move to have in the Steel-type matchup because it allows Heracross to break Heatran's Air Balloon, potentially enabling Volcarona to sweep. Pursuit is also helpful against Psychic teams, as it can also be used to trap Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create because of the Speed drop. Use Knock Off to remove items from Pokemon that are annoying to Heracross or its teammates, such as Leftovers from Celesteela.

Team Options
========

Volcarona is a helpful ally to Heracross because it helps break Pokemon like Celesteela and Skarmory that easily tank Heracross's hits and can also weaken the opposing team for a late-game cleanup. Heracross also combines well with Volcarona to break Steel-type cores, as Pursuit breaking Heatran's Air Balloon allows it to be hit by Volcarona's Hidden Power Ground. Armaldo can get rid of entry hazards that wear Heracross down and also provide Stealth Rock to help it OHKO or 2HKO some Pokemon such as Dragonite by breaking Multiscale or potential Focus Sashes on other Pokemon. Forretress can also fit this role on teams if it is more suitable, as it learns Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin too and can also act as a slow pivot to bring in Heracross by using Volt Switch. Sticky Web support from Galvantula is important to Heracross because it allows Heracross to outspeed most grounded Pokemon, specifically Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create. Galvantula also helps against one of Heracross's checks, Toxapex, with strong Electric-type STAB moves and helps beat bulkier Flying-types that Heracross has trouble beating. An alternative Sticky Web setter that you could use is Araquanid, which is bulkier than Galvantula and is able to tank special attacks quite effectively while hitting back with Liquidation boosted by its ability Water Bubble. Araquanid can further be an effective choice due to its effective resistance to Fire-type attacks due to its secondary Water typing combined with its ability Water Bubble. Mega Pinsir can be used to take on Fighting-types that resist three of Heracross's attacks; Swords Dance sets are especially useful because they can break through bulky cores and weaken teams for Heracross to sweep late-game. Lastly, Scizor can be a useful ally for Heracross, as it can switch in on weaker Flying-type attacks like Quick Attack from Mega Pinsir and give Heracross a free switch in with a slow U-turn. Scizor also supports Heracross a lot with a strong priority attack in Bullet Punch, which deals a lot of damage to faster, frailer Pokemon, potentially KOing them so they do not threaten Heracross. Its typing is also useful because it can switch into incoming Psychic-type and Fairy-type attacks and effectively deal with Fairy-type Pokemon for Heracross.

Other Options

Bug
-------

Guts is an alternate ability choice, as Heracross is so susceptible to status effects; this can especially help against teams that use Toxic Spikes but also allows Heracross to get burned without completely crippling it. However, this takes away its ability to sweep teams as easily, and Heracross still doesn't appreciate getting weakened by poison or burn or being slowed down by paralysis. A second option to use on Heracross is its Mega Evolution. When Heracross Mega Evolves, it loses Speed but gains bulk, power, and the ability Skill Link, which pairs well with its access to Bullet Seed, Rock Blast, and Pin Missile. Using Mega Heracross unfortunately means Heracross can no longer fill the Choice Scarf role of the team, and it also takes up the Mega slot, which could be used for potentially more useful Pokemon such as Mega Pinsir and Mega Scizor.

Checks and Counters
===================

Bug
-------

**Bulky Flying-types**: Bulkier Flying-types such as Celesteela, Skarmory, and Landorus-T are very difficult for Heracross to deal damage to, resisting both its STAB attacks and only taking neutral damage from its coverage moves; these Pokemon can easily switch in and tank hits from Heracross while recovering HP with Leftovers or Roost.

**Bulky Poison-types**: Poison-types resist both of Heracross's STAB moves and take little damage from its coverage. Bulkier ones such as Mega Venusaur and Toxapex are generally able to recover off any damage that Heracross does while threatening it with status or powerful attacks.

**Status and Entry Hazards**: Burns and paralysis make Heracross severely worse at dealing damage to the opponent's team. Burn limits its attacking power, making it underwhelming and easy to switch into and recover on, whereas paralysis cripples its Speed tier, meaning it can easily be killed by Pokemon that now outspeed it and can no longer clean late-game with Moxie boosts.

**Priority**: Heracross doesn't have very good defensive stats, and they only get worse after Close Combat drops, meaning it can be easily revenge killed by Extreme Speed Dragonite and Bullet Punch Scizor. Mega Pinsir can also come in on Heracross and freely use Quick Attack to knock it out.

**Revenge Killers**: Heracross is at risk to many revenge killers, since Close Combat's defenses drops leave it susceptible to priority move users as well as Choice Scarf users, almost every relevant one of which is faster than Heracross.

*Priority attackers can deal large amounts of damage to Heracross, especially after Close Combat defense drops.
*Heracross can still be threatened by other Choice Scarf users such as Latios. Expand on this. Heracross is still slower than the majority of Choice Scarf Pokemon, which is a big deal. Also, put it after the bullet talking about Choice Scarf (2nd bullet)
*Heracross is very susceptible to being paralyzed and burned as they cripple its role as a revenge killer and late game sweeper.

*Close Combat is a strong STAB attack useful for hitting Rock-types that bug struggles with.
*Megahorn is strong secondary STAB and is very spammable against Bug and Dark-type teams. Bug coverage is spammable against bug? Maybe change to Psychic.
*Stone Edge is a powerful coverage move useful for hitting Flying-types and 2HKOing Dragonite after Stealth Rocks.
*Pursuit is useful for taking out weakened pokemon that are forced out by Heracross, it is also useful for breaking Heatran's Air Baloon as it switches out.
*Knock off

*Volcarona helps break Pokemon like Celesteela and Skarmory that easily tank Heracross' hits and can also weaken the opposing team for a late game cleanup. Talk about it being an effective Offensive core to break steel. Also need to mention how it goes hand & hand with Pursuit to beat Heatran together.
*Armaldo can get rid of hazards that wear heracross down and also provide Stealth Rocks helping it KO or 2HKO some pokemon such as Dragonite by breaking Multiscale or potential Focus Sashes on other Pokemon. Forretress also does this, combine it with Armaldo.
*Galvantula provides Sticky Web support that allows Heracross to outspeed all grounded pokemon, specifically Choice Scarf Victini and also helps against one of Heracross' checks; Toxapex. It helps with more than just Toxapex, talk about how it beats bulky Flying-types
*Mega Pinsir

**Toxapex**: Toxapex resists both of Heracross' stab moves and takes little damage from its coverage options while easily being able to recover off any damage that heracross does threatening it with Scald burns and being able to get up layers of Toxic Spikes easily. Consider changing to bulky poison-types? Toxapex isn't the only one that walls Heracross

**Status and Hazards**: Heracross being burned or paralysed makes it severely worse at dealing damage to the opponents team. Burn limits its attack power making it underwhelming and easy to switch into and recover on, whereas paralysis cripples its speed tier meaning it can easily be killed by pokemon that now outspeed it and prevents it cleaning late game with Moxie Boosts.

*Heracross can still be threatened by other Choice Scarf users such as Latios. It is outsped by a lot of other Choice Scarf Pokemon, however this can be remedied slightly by the use of Sticky Web. "It is outsped by a lot of other Choice Scarf Pokemon" is way too vague, I'd just specify your language. "Its middle-ground Speed tier means Heracross is outsped by many common Choice Scarf Pokemon such as x and x; however, this can be overcome with Sticky Web support."
*The Fighting-type allows it to hit types like Rock and Steel that Bug-types struggle to deal with.

Usage Tips

*Revenge killing threats against Bug-types such as Charizard, Heatran and Rock-types. Are you going to rephrase this? It's not really written as a tip, just a statement.
*Send Heracross in to revenge against Pokemon threatening to Bug-types. It can knock out Steel-type threats like Heatran and it can Pursuit trap even Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create and KO Charizard with Stone Edge.

*Pursuit is useful against Steel-type teams because it allows Heracross to break Heatran's Air Baloon making Volcarona able to potentially sweep. It can also be used to trap Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create because of the Speed drop.
*Knock Off is a more powerful and more general purpose Dark-type attack that is more useful against Ghost-type teams and Pokemon as it allows Heracross to spam Knock Off freely.

*Volcarona helps break Pokemon like Celesteela and Skarmory that easily tank Heracross' hits and can also weaken the opposing team for a late game cleanup. *Mega-Pinsir can be used to take on Fighting-types that resist Heracross' attacks, it can also set up using Swords Dance and break bulkier teams. Being able to KO weakened opponents with Quick Attack.
*Scizor can be a useful ally for Heracross as it can switch in on weaker Flying-type attacks like Quick Attack from Mega-Pinsir and also be able to u-turn out slowly giving Heracross a free switch in.

**Guts**: An alternative ability for Heracross is Guts. Guts makes Heracross much less susceptible to status effects, especially Burn as the attack drop effect no longer takes effect because of Guts. However this takes away from Heracross' sweeping ability late game and also means it cant pick up KO's on bulkier pokemon like Mega-Scizor because of the attack boosts from Moxie
**Mega**: Another alternative set is to run Mega-Heracross. Heracross' mega forme gains the ability Skill Link which allows it to run attacks like Bullet Seed, Rock Blast and Pin Missile which open up coverage options for Heracross. However mega evolving slows Heracross down leaving it weaker to faster Pokemon and also means it cannot fill the Choice Scarf role of the team. Furthermore this would mean sacrificing your mega slot which could be used for a more viable mega such as Mega-Pinsir or Mega-Scizor.

It can knock out Steel-type threats like Heatran and it can Pursuit trap even Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create and KO Charizard with Stone Edge. I wouldn’t mention pursuit trapping here (since you talk about it later). You can just say KO victini with Megahorn after a v create

Alright, it’s QC 2/3

Overview:
- So Heracross's Speed is both good and middle ground? (average) Pick one or the other. It confuses the reader.

Usage Tips:
Heracross can be sent in to revenge against Pokemon threatening to Bug-types. It can knock out Steel-type threats like Heatran and it can KO Victini with Megahorn and KO Charizard and other Fire-types with Stone Edge.
- This part reads pretty awkwardly and doesn't consist of a usage tip. I would put this into 1 sentence and make sure to specifically say "threatening to Bug-types such as Heatran with Close Combat, Victini at -1 with Megahorn, and Mega Charizard Y with Stone Edge."
- Would add something in there about Knock Off, when is it necessary to use it given that they're running it over Pursuit?

Team Options:
- Add that Scizor is a great switch-in to much of Heracross's weaknesses too besides Flying-type Attacks. You have Scizor that can resist any incoming Psychic or Fairy move and is especially able to take on Fairy-types for Heracross.

Been a while since I checked anything.

BUG

========

Heracross is useful on Bug-type teams because it finds itself as a revenge killer, (AC) with its high Attack stat and average Speed tier allowing it to effectively come in and revenge kill threats to Bug-type teams. Utilising With Choice Scarf, Heracross's Speed tier is very useful, notably outspeeding notably lets it outspeed Mega Lopunny (RH) and Charizard and being able to secure KO's KOs against them. However, (AC) Heracross can still be threatened by other Choice Scarf users such as Latios. Its its middle-ground (AH) Speed tier means it is outsped by a lot of other Choice Scarf Pokemon, such as Latios, Victini, (AC) and Nihilego, (AC) however though in several cases this can be remedied slightly (or however you want to put the nuance of some pkmn being immune into words but breaking this over 2 sentences didn't make much sense) by effective use of Sticky Web. Heracross's Fighting-type Fighting typing also allows it to hit types like Rock, Normal, (AC) and Steel that Bug-type teams commonly struggle to deal with, and its ability Moxie gives it a lot of potential to sweep teams late-game with its choice of coverage and STAB moves. However, Heracross is walled by common Pokemon such as Skarmory, Celesteela and Toxapex, (AC) where which it will fail to 2HKO and will allow them to recover safely. Heracross also is quite weak to priority attackers, especially after Close Combat Defense drops. Status effects are also very threatening to Heracross, (AC) as paralysis and burn cripple Heracross' its roles as a Choice Scarf revenge killer and a potential late-game (AH) sweeper. Heracross' ability Moxie gives it a lot of potential to sweep teams late game with its choice of coverage and STAB moves that are effective against several types. However Furthermore, Heracross can be easily checked due to its STAB moves having poor coverage individually.

Close Combat is Heracross strongest Fighting-type STAB move, (AC) allowing it to hit several types that can be a problem for Bug-types, such as Rock, Steel, (AC) and Normal, (AC) for super effective damage, allowing it to and become a large asset to Bug by checking these types. Megahorn is Heracross's the strongest Bug-type STAB attack for Heracross which and can be spammed against Psychic and Dark-type teams. It can also threaten out Victini after a V-create. Stone Edge is a useful coverage move for Heracross as it can hit Flying-types, (AC) which are very threatening to Bug-type teams. Pursuit is a useful choice for taking out weakened Pokemon that are forced out by Heracross; (SC) it is also vital for breaking Heatran's Air Baloon Balloon as it switches out in fear of Close Combat, (AC) allowing Heatran to be hit by leaving it susceptible to Ground-type attacks. Knock Off is a secondary choice because it can remove items from annoying Pokemon such as Toxapex and Skarmory, (AC) and can deal a lot of damage to Ghost-types, (AC) and is also a stronger general purpose Dark-type attack for these types.

Heracross uses maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly nature to combine with a Choice Scarf and let Heracross to outspeed many threats such as none Choice non-Choice Scarf Latios, Mega Lopunny, (RH, AC) as well as and slower Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Tapu Bulu. Maximum investment in Attack EVs make makes Heracross as strong as possible. It utilizes Moxie to boost boosts Heracross's Attack after KOing it KOes a Pokemon, (AC) meaning it can easily sweep teams late-game. (AH)

Usage Tips
========

Use Heracross to revenge against kill Pokemon threatening to Bug-types. It can knock out Steel-type threats like Heatran, (AC) KO Victini with Megahorn, (AC) It can also KO and remove other Fire-types with Stone Edge. It is important to try and to prevent Heracross from getting inflicted with status, especially as burn and paralysis as they cripple Heracross as a revenge killer and poison wears it down faster. Heracross has great potential to sweep late-game (AH) with Moxie, (AC) boosts as these a boost can allow it to break Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hippowdon after a Moxie boost. Try not to let Heracross get worn down by entry hazards, weak attacks, (AC) or status, (AC) as they leave it in range of priority attacks from opposing Pokemon. Keeping Heracross healthy in tougher matchups like Flying and Normal, (AC) as it can potentially sweep through these teams late-game (AH) with Stone Edge and Close Combat, (AC) respectively. Pursuit is a useful move to have in the Steel-type matchup because it allows Heracross to break Heatran's Air Baloon Balloon, (AC) making potentially enabling Volcarona able to potentially sweep. Pursuit is also helpful against Psychic teams, (AC) as it can also be used to trap Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create because of the Speed drop as Victini is threatened by Megahorn. Use Knock Off to remove items from Pokemon that are annoying to Heracross or its teammates, (AC) for example such as Leftovers from Celesteela with Leftovers.

Team Options
========

Volcarona is a helpful ally to Heracross because it helps break Pokemon like Celesteela and Skarmory that easily tank Heracross' Heracross's hits and can also weaken the opposing team for a late-game (AH) cleanup. It Heracross also combines well with Volcarona to break Steel-type cores, (AC) as Heracross' Pursuit breaking Heatran's Air Baloon Balloon allows it to be hit by Volcarona's Hidden Power Ground. Armaldo can get rid of entry hazards that wear Heracross down and also provide Stealth Rocks helping Rock to help it OHKO or 2HKO some Pokemon such as Dragonite by breaking Multiscale or break potential Focus Sashes on other Pokemon. Forretress can also fit this role on teams if it is more suitable, (AC) as it learns Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin too (RP) Forretress and can also act as a slow pivot to bring in Heracross by using Volt Switch. Sticky Web support from Galvantula is an important teammate to Heracross because Sticky Web support this allows Heracross it to outspeed most grounded pokemon, specifically Choice Scarf Victini after a V-create. Galvantula also helps against one of Heracross' Heracross's checks, (AC) Toxapex, (AC) with strong Electric-type STAB moves (RC) Galvantula also and helps beat bulkier Flying-types that Heracross has trouble beating. An alternative webs Sticky Web setter that you could use is Araquanid, (comma) Araquanid which is bulkier than Galvantula and is able to tank special attacks quite effectively while hitting back with Liquidation boosted by its ability Water Bubble. Araquanid can further be an effective choice due to it resisting its effective resistance to Fire-type attacks due to its secondary Water Bug typing and combined with its ability Water Bubble that halves Fire damage. (AP) Mega Pinsir (AH) can be used to take on Fighting-types that resist all of Heracross' Heracross's attacks; (SC) (not Close Combat though) Swords Dance is also sets are especially (not sure if I caught the nuance properly here)useful because it allows Mega-Pinsir to they can break through bulky cores and weaken teams for late game Heracross to sweep late-game. Lastly, Scizor can be a useful ally for Heracross, (AC) as it can switch in on weaker Flying-type attacks like Quick Attack from Mega Pinsir (RH) and also be able to u-turn out slowly giving give Heracross a free switch in with a slow U-turn. Scizor also provides supports Heracross a lot with a strong priority attack in Bullet Punch, (AC) which supports Heracross a lot as it deals a lot of damage to faster, frailer Pokemon, potentially KOing them so that they do not threaten Heracross. Its typing is also useful as because it can switch into incoming Psychic- (AH) and Fairy-type attacks and effectively deal with Fairy-type Pokemon for Heracross.

Guts is an alternate ability choice, (AC) as Heracross is so susceptible to status effects; (SC) this can especially help against teams that use Toxic Spikes, it but also allows Heracross to get burned without completely crippling it. However, (AC) this takes away its ability to sweep teams as easily, (AC) and Heracross still doesn't appreciate getting weakened by poison or burn and doesn't appreciate the Speed drop from or being slowed down by paralysis. It also means it cannot break through certain Pokemon by utilising Moxie attack boosts such as Mega Scizor. (already mentioned in the sweeping sentence I think?) A second option to use on Heracross is its Mega Evolution. When Heracross Mega Evolves, (AC) it loses Speed but gains bulk, (AC) and attack power, and but loses speed but also gains the ability Skill Link which pairs well as it can learn with its access to Bullet Seed, Rock Blast and Pin Missile. Using Mega Heracross (RH) unfortunately means Heracross can no longer fill the Choice Scarf role of the team, (AC) and it also takes up the Mega slot, (AC) that which could be used for potentially more useful Pokemon such as Mega Pinsir (RH) or and Mega Scizor. (RH, AP)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Flying-types**: (AH) Bulkier Flying-types such as Celesteela, Skarmory, (AC) and Landorus-T are very difficult for Heracross to deal damage to, resisting both its STAB attacks and coverage moves only hitting for taking neutral from its coverage moves; (SC) these Pokemon can easily switchin switch in and tank hits from Heracross while recovering HP with Leftovers or Roost.

**Bulky Poison-types**: Poison-types resist both of Heracross' stab STAB moves and takes take little damage from its coverage. Bulkier Poison-types ones such as Mega Venusaur (RH) and Toxapex are generally able to recover off any damage that Heracross does while threatening it with status or powerful attacks.

**Status and Entry Hazards**: Heracross being burned or paralysed makes it Burns and paralysis make Heracross severely worse at dealing damage to the opponents opponent's team. Burn limits its attacking power, (AC) making it underwhelming and easy to switch into and recover on, whereas paralysis cripples its Speed tier, (AC) meaning it can easily be killed by Pokemon that now outspeed it and prevents it cleaning can no longer clean late-game (AH) with Moxie boosts.

**Priority**: Heracross doesn't have very good defensive stats, (AC) which and they only get worse after Close Combat drops, meaning it can be easily revenge by Extreme Speed Dragonite and Bullet Punch Scizor. Mega Pinsir can also come in on Heracross and freely click Quick Attack to knock it out.

**Revenge Killers**: Heracross is at risk to many revenge killers, (AC) since Close Combat's lowers your defenses leaving you drops leave it susceptible to priority move users as(space)well as Choice Scarf users, Heracross being slower than almost every relevant Choice Scarf user in the tier leaving it to be KO'd by most of them one of which is faster than Heracross.
