[8:56 PM] TheMantyke: Whenever I google "hidden power IVs", the only information useful for Gen 6+ is some general nintendo site that lists all the IV combinations as 31s and 30s.

Hidden Power IV Combinations

Hidden Power Type is determined by a which of a Pokemon's IVs are odd or even. This is a quick reference sheet to figure out what IVs you’ll need to be odd or even to achieve your desired Hidden Power type.

Atlus
  • IVs are listed in the standard arrangement of HP/Atk/Def/SpA/SpD/Spe.
  • O corresponds to Odd and E corresponds to even.
  • Two listings are provided, the first as whether or not IVs must be odd or even and the second as the highest possible IVs for each Hidden Power.
  • Note for new players: There is no Hidden Power Normal or Hidden Power Fairy

I can elaborate on things like x5 or x3 IV restrictions, list generally ideal IV choices, min attack HP values, trick room HP values, etc if staff want me to. I mainly just wanted a page on smogon that lists this information and is just a super barebones reference I could easily peep at for breeding / fiddling with teams. We've had references like this on site previously, but they're outdated with old Gen 2-5 mechanics like your IV modulo 4 needing to equal 2 or 3. I think a reference for Gen 6+ exclusively would be a good addition.

Looks good TM! I plugged in each of those IV combos and everything seems to have matched up right :). As for your comments, I think a quick reference/note/etc for the x5 or x3 IV restrictions might be helpful if you want to throw that in. I'd imagine a bullet point would suffice rather than a whole list of the possible IV combos, but whatever you see fit (i.e. 5IV mons can't have HP Fighting). I think the possible IV values are covered well enough from the first set, so people should be able to figure out trick room/min Atk/ideal spreads while still keeping the desired HP. Often it's really a choice between 0 and 1 if you need E or O. Not much need to flesh it out imo, especially since "ideal" is a bit of a rabbit trail.

As for my personal comments, a couple minor things you could add would be that (1) HP now has a fixed power so you don't have to worry about maxing the IVs unlike previous gens or (2) A mention of Hyper Training so that you can max the stats while still having the right HP type (to quell any ongoing misconceptions that HT changes your IVs and thus HP...I'm sure someone who's new would ask).
