Hitmonchan @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 244 HP / 152 Atk / 112 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Rapid Spin

Hitmonchan stands as the most reliable Rapid Spin user in PU and a fantastic pivot due to its great special bulk, resistance to Stealth Rock, and access to powerful Iron Fist-boosted moves such as Ice Punch and priority Mach Punch. Hitmonchan is often used on bulky offensive and balanced teams as a glue Pokemon to check special attackers like Aurorus, Pyroar, and Eelektross and revenge kill foes such as Jynx and Lycanroc. Hitmonchan gets plenty of opportunities to spin with the switches it forces. Hitmonchan also acts as a nice check to many hyper offensive teams, especially weather variants. Assault Vest Hitmonchan, however, struggles against defensive cores featuring Spiritomb, such as Ferroseed + Spiritomb, as it is unable to prevent entry hazards from piling up. Hitmonchan struggles against standard Fighting-type checks like Mesprit and Weezing, meaning special wallbreakers like Oricorio-G and Abomasnow are great teammates. Dark-types like Skuntank and Spiritomb can also trap and threaten Ghost-types, such as Oricorio-G and Haunter, which can spinblock against Hitmonchan.

Hitmonchan stands as the most reliable Rapid Spin user in PU thanks to its great special bulk, resistance to Stealth Rock, and a powerful Iron Fist-boosted Ice Punch and priority Mach Punch those are things it does that are worth mentioning, but not necessarily things that make it a good spinner, the causality isnt' exactly right here. Hitmonchan is often used on Bulky Offensive or Balance teams as a glue Pokemon to check special attackers like Aurorus, Pyroar, and Eelektross, while also providing a way to revenge kill foes such as Jynx and Lycanroc. Hitmonchan also wrong use of also gets plenty of opportunity to spin with the switches it forces. Hitmonchan is also a fantastic option if teams struggle with weather as the Assault Vest set has a natural match up against weather sweepers like Victreebel, Ludicolo , Alolan Sandslash, and Stoutland. i cant help but feel like the weather sentence could instead be about something way more relevant, it's not a massive point in chan's favor at all and u haven't talked about things like how it fares vs ferrotomb Although Hitmonchan fills several roles it still struggles against standard Fighting-type checks like Mesprit and Weezing no way u mean my fighting type hates fighting type checks? what is that phrasing, meaning special wallbreakers like Oricorio-G and Abomasnow are great teammates. Dark-types, like Skuntank and Spiritomb, can also trap and threaten Ghost-types, such as Oricorio-G and Haunter, which can spinblock against Hitmonchan.
