Set Description
========
Hoopa-U is a very potent wallbreaker who can punch massive holes in opposing defensive cores for the rest of its teammates to take advantage of. However, its middling speed and low physical bulk alongside a very unfortunate 4x weakness to U-turn mean that it is usually outclassed by other wallbreakers who have more use against more offensive teams, such as Mega Medicham or Swords Dance Garchomp. Drain Punch allows Hoopa to threaten Tyranitar as well as giving it another option to hit Chansey while simultaneously keeping Hoopa healthy. Gunk Shot is nigh mandatory on the Choice Band set, as without it, you lack any ways to seriously immediately pressure fairies such as Clefable and Tapu Fini. The fourth slot should usually go to Fire Punch, as it allows Hoopa-U to immediately threaten Magearna and Mega Mawile, as well as giving it a way to OHKO Ferrothorn. Zen Headbutt is another option here that you can use over Fire Punch in order to gain a weapon that severely threatens Toxapex and Kommo-o. 252 Speed EVs along with a Jolly nature are preferred, as it allows you to outrun a variety of threats who can otherwise beat you if you are running Adamant, most notably Timid Heatran.

This set should mainly be used as a wallbreaker that can immediately threaten many common defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro, Toxapex, or Chansey, although one must be careful to avoid the status they can dish out, as a potential burn from a Slowbro or Toxapex Scald could ruin your damage output, and a Thunder Wave from Slowbro or Chansey can seriously cripple your pressure exerted. This set benefits from pivoting teammates that can get the defensive targets Hoopa-U eliminates on to the field, such as Mega Lopunny and Cinderace, and can remove the defensive checks for many Pokemon when you do successfully lure in these Pokemon. The Choice Band set notably has ways to immediately pressure most defensive Fairy-type and Steel-type Pokemon with Gunk Shot and Fire Punch, and therefore can also be paired with Pokemon such as Greninja-Ash and Dragapult, who need these defensive Fairy-types removed before they can start accomplishing their ultimate goals. This set and most other Hoopa-U sets also pair well with Pokemon that can punish U-turn from the opponent looking to revenge Hoopa, such as Garchomp and many defensive Rocky Helmet users including Skarmory and Landorus-Therian. Finally, this set appreciates Spikes support from Ferrothorn, Greninja, or Skarmory in order to get walls into range for a OHKO or 2HKO.

[SET COMMENTS]
The Choice Specs set aims to destroy any and all attempts at walling Hoopa-U and, unlike physical variants, can switch into Scald from most defensive Water-types with relative freedom. Psyshock is required for this set to be effective, as it gives you a much more reliable option than Focus Blast to hit Chansey and Blissey extremely hard, while still reaching a guaranteed 2HKO on physically defensive Clefable. Focus Blast is imperative on the Choice Specs set to hit Tyranitar, who can take any of Hoopa’s other moves and potentially remove it entirely by Pursuit trapping it, due to Hoopa’s relative physical frailty. Trick allows you to give a pair of Choice Specs to a defensive Pokemon, such as Ferrothorn, Clefable, Chansey, and Blissey, in order to severely limit what they can do. 252 Speed EVs along with a Timid nature are preferred to outspeed as much as possible, although you can also use Modest in order to significantly improve your chances of 2HKOing standard Chansey with Psyshock or Focus Blast and still maintain the outspeed on Modest Heatran, standard Gliscor, and defensive Zapdos sets.

The Choice Specs set can also benefit from pivoting teammates, however it can usually pivot directly into defensive Pokemon without fearing much of what they can dish out, increasing the flexibility in how you can target defensive Pokemon. As a result of this set being able to safely pivot in to more Pokemon in more situations when compared to physical sets, this set can be paired with many Pokemon who enjoy their defensive checks being removed or severely weakened, without necessarily needing to pivot out with U-turn or Volt Switch when their defensive checks switch in, most notably Greninja-Ash, Rillaboom, Dragapult, and Hawlucha.

This set can act as a fierce wallbreaker that can pivot into many common defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro, Toxapex, or Chansey, although one must be careful to avoid the status they can dish out, as a potential burn from a Slowbro or Toxapex Scald could ruin your damage output, and a Thunder Wave from Slowbro or Chansey can seriously cripple your pressure exerted. Hyperspace Fury is the STAB move of choice, as it deals massive damage to anything that doesn't resist it, Drain Punch allows it to threaten Tyranitar as well as giving it another option to hit Chansey while simultaneously keeping Hoopa healthy. The Choice Specs set aims to destroy any and all attempts at walling Hoopa-U and, unlike physical variants, can switch into Scald from most defensive Water-types with relative freedom. The first moveslot is dedicated to Dark Pulse, as it hits most things that do not resist it extremely hard, punishing defensive plays by the opponent. Psyshock is required for this set to be effective, as it gives you a much more reliable option than Focus Blast to hit Chansey and Blissey extremely hard. Focus Blast is imperative on the Choice Specs set to hit Tyranitar, who can take any of Hoopa’s other moves and potentially remove it entirely by Pursuit trapping it, due to Hoopa’s relative physical frailty. Trick allows you to give a pair of Choice Specs to a defensive Pokemon in order to severely limit what they can do. 252 Speed EVs along with a Timid nature are preferred to outspeed Jolly Choice Band Dracovish, although you can also use Modest in order to significantly improve your chances of 2HKOing standard Chansey with Psyshock or Focus Blast and still maintaining the outspeed on Adamant Dracovish and Modest Heatran.

All in all, Hoopa-U is a potent wallbreaker, possessing unrivaled power. Amazing 160 / 170 attacking stats alongside good coverage options allow Hoopa-U to muscle through many common defensive staples and break down defensive cores. Despite this, Hoopa can find it difficult to start or complete it’s rampage, as a middling speed tier alongside low physical bulk and a very unfortunate 4x weakness to U-turn mean it can be very easily played around with smart offense and revenge killed by many common staples on offensive teams. As such, Hoopa is best used for it's wallbreaking abilities and therefore pairs well with late game sweepers who benefit from the removal of their defensive checks and counters, such as Greninja-Ash, Rillaboom, Dragapult, and Hawlucha.

The formatting is very off on this. Each set should have two paragraphs talking about it, with one paragraph going over the details of the set and the second paragraph going over how to use the set. Refer to the examples provided in the reservation thread, or look at other analyses currently in QC for examples. Ping us when you've fixed it and we will check this analysis.

I adjusted the formatting, it should be correct now. Let me know if something is still off, and, if not, then it is now ready for QC.

i feel you need to talk about hoopa-u's niche in a quick overview right here before you go into moves, since you want to give people an impression of what hoopa-u's role is, and you should probably add what makes hoopa-u worse than other prominent wallbreakers like mega medicham Hyperspace Fury is the STAB move of choice, as it deals massive damage to anything that doesn't resist it this is fluff, you don't need to explain what hyperspace fury does, Drain Punch allows it to threaten Tyranitar as well as giving it another option to hit Chansey while simultaneously keeping Hoopa healthy. Gunk Shot is nigh mandatory on the Choice Band set, as without it, you lack any ways to seriously immediately pressure fairies such as Clefable and Tapu Fini. This set should mainly be used as a wallbreaker that can pivot into threaten many common defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro, Toxapex, or Chansey, pivot is the wrong word to use here, because hoopa doesn't want to pivot into any of them in case they poison, scald burn, or in toxapex's case, all of the above including knocking its choice band off, all of them can hampers hoopa's effectiveness, i would just say it threatenes them instead although one must be careful to avoid the status they can dish out, as a potential burn from a Slowbro or Toxapex Scald could ruin your damage output, and a Thunder Wave from Slowbro or Chansey can seriously cripple your pressure exerted. This set benefits from pivoting teammates that can get the defensive targets Hoopa-U eliminates on to the field, such as Mega Lopunny and Cinderace, and can remove the defensive checks for many Pokemon when you do successfully lure in these Pokemon. i feel there's a lot more than can be added here, such as stuff that checks fairy types, spikes support, stuff that punishes u-turn users that abuse hoopa-u like lando-t and mega lopunny, etc
