Hello there guys! With the successful completion of my Espyjump team (my favorite, to be honest) this game, I decided to try my hand at a strategy I found to be horribly underused with the introduction of Fairy types. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it off the ground, only scraping a win about half the time (chances go up a bit more in 3v3, but only if I'm lucky and choose my moves right.) I haven't really settled on a concrete team yet, but these are the Pokemon I primarily use.
Ganny the Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ev Spread: 252 HP, 252 Def, 6 SpDef
Moveset:
-Trick Room
-Psychic
-Flash Cannon
-Earthquake
Bronzong is my main setup, chosen because of his ability to take a hit and proceed to set so long as he isn't flinched or put to sleep. Secondarily, I'm quite fond of his moveset, with the power to pretty much nuke anything that isn't a bulky water, fire, or dark type. He's powered me through the Battle Maison (for the most part, still haven't beaten the Battle Sisters...) and I've managed to OHKO my way through most non competitive battles with just him. Still, he's horribly allergic to Houndours/Houndooms, and more often than not gets OHKO'd from an Earthquake.
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ev Spread: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 6 Def
Moveset:
-Power Up Punch
-Iron Head
-Play Rough
-Crunch
Mawile serves the role of my main abuser/sweeper, effectively OHKOing almost anything set to her once she's mega'd. She's extremely effective in 3v3, since her moveset is fairly diverse and can at the very least serve neutral damage to most Pokemon. Her most encountered problem, however, is either running out of time before Trick Room wears off, or anything with Earthquake or a fire move. EQ almost always OHKO's her without the influence of Trick, and though she can often survive at least one fire move, she's done after two.
Oz the Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ev Spread: 252 HP, 32 Def, 20 Atk, 200 Sp.Def
Moveset:
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Crunch
-Dragon Claw
I'm not really sure what I was thinking with his Ev Spread, but he seemed to come out of it just fine, 2HKOing or at the very least 3HKOing anything he serves neutral damage to, and OHKOing anything he has type advantage over. Earthquake is the move I choose most often, seconded by Crunch. Dragon Claw and Rock Slide serve as "oh crap" moves, when T-Tar is the last Pokemon I have left and I should be able to nuke them with Sandstorm+ move. Unfortunately, this fails more often than it works...
Ted the Reuniclus ???
Ev Spread: 252 SpAtk, 252 SpDef, 6 Def
Moveset:
-Protect
-Focus Blast
-Psychic
-Trick Room
I've found Reuniclus really only goes into battle when it's 6v6, otherwise I use the first three. Reuniclus is a combo backup Trick Roomer/sweeper, only using Trick should Bronzong fall or if I can't swing the switch in. Protect is actually fairly useless, but I haven't come across a better move yet (I briefly considered Shadow Ball, but anything Shadow Ball can hit, Mawile can hit.) Focus Blast is my anti-dark move, with Psychic there rounding out his use as a sweeper. I haven't yet found an item for her to use, with Choice Specs out of the question and not enough HP for a viable use of Life Orb. When she works, she works wonderfully, but all too often she comes out after Trick Room has worn off and is instead fodder.
Hikari the Chandelure ???
Ev Spread: 252 HP, 200 SpDef, 56 Def
Moveset:
-Trick Room
-Flamethrower
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
Chandelure is, for the most part, a space filler, functioning properly only when I predict a Fire or Fighting type lead. Much as I love her, her typing is godawful against most of the OU, only surviving for one Trick before being killed (if I'm lucky and the lead doesn't know a Psychic, Dark, or Water move.) However, she does function somewhat if she switches in after a teammate is knocked out, getting in at least one hit in under the influence of Trick. If not, she is fodder.
Naga the Dragonite @ Life Orb
Ev Spread: 252 HP, 230 SpDef, 28 Def
Moveset:
-Surf
-Dragon Claw
-Thunder
-Power Up Punch
Naga is my second go-to sweeper, considering her mixed moveset and high attack. She fares well against most of the OU metagame, with the unfortunate side effect of succumbing to any Ice, Electric, or Dragon opponents. Otherwise she is generally gone in three hits, but is able to leave a fairly sizeable dent in most teams. As with Reuniclus and Chandelure, she functions best under Trick.
Overall, my setup works best in 3v3, crashing and burning horribly in 6v6. I find Trick more often runs out before I'm able to finish off my opponent in 6v6, by which point they're able to take out my setups and then pick off the rest of my team.
Any input would help, whether it be a move switch or a Pokemon substitute.
