How to beat liepard more easily:

You hate being trolled by Liepard?
The strategy is simple:attack the liepard with multi-hit moves, such rock blast, or icicle spear. Examples of users of multi-hit-moves in NU:

icicle spear: Piloswine, Shellder.
rock blast: Golem, Gigalith.
bullet seed: Torterra, Victreebel.
gear grind: Klang.
(only usable multi-hit moves in NU)

(Almost of the time, bullet seed is never-used, but, it's usable against liepard)

Prankster Swagger means you have to break through confusion as well. And if you've used Shellder before, do let us know how useful it is in the tier right now <3

On one hand, I doubt the credibility of this thread, since talking about methods on how to deal with Liepard is discussed so often (but not thoroughly) that others just want them to shut up about it.

On the other hand, people have actually been complaining about Swagger Liepard enough to nominate it for suspect @_@ I think this thread may or may not awaken people to how nonsensical this notion is or at least redirect that nonsense here.

Swagger is useful; especially if you get in a Lum berry user or a Scarfed Physical attacker.

The only scary part is the foul play.... ouch!

You cant beat it with taunt if you hit yourself in confusion than get ko'd by foul play. Lol this is turning into a liepard argument that's not good. In reality every pokemon that doesn't have own tempo can lose to liepard. Even purloin or murkrow in that respect making swagger aviable suspect.

No it is not a viable suspect. He is not bulky, and you can always break through hax. Just because sometimes you can't do it quickly it makes him far from broken, and if Liepard would be removed people who like the strategy would just use Murkrow, if you ban Murkrow (seriously don't got that far...) and then you would have to ban Purrloin. It's not worth it.

Beating SwagPlay liepard is easy: set a substitute on the move liepard comes in and sweep. This isn't particularly hard when you realise a lot of mons in NU can use a good sub set, like SubPlot Jynx and SubBU Braviary.

Alternatively, if you're so paranoid about it, use Magic Coat Musharna with 0 Atk EVs and a Modest Nature. gg Liepard.

It'll not always work, as every other Liepard's set usually carry Encore ( Which were argued as his better sets, I believe.)

I dunno, I kind of like this idea better.

There's also other stuff such as Ludicolo with Own Tempo and Substitute (to avoid twave if it uses Swagger at first!), Probopass or Bastiodon that can attack it outright and take very little damage, or the latter can Roar it out. Then there's Gurdurr with Mach Punch if it's lucky, Kanga's Fake Out to wear it down, Scolipede with Quick Feet even can benefit from it (even tho it's uncommon), or just tricking a Liepard before it uses Substitute. Overall there's a lot you can do to get past it without using multi hit moves, and Liepard can easily be navigated around given you have the right mons on your team. Those are just off the top of my head but there's a lot more. Yeah, it's harder with an offensive team but if you're lucky and the Liepard player is dumb then you can easily overcome it.

the best way to beat liepard is just to make sure it doesn't get to set up substitute on something like musharna. if liepard is forced to swagger on a decently powerful physically offensive pokemon, it has a 45% chance of just outright dying right then and there.

there's not that many ways to beat liepard 100% of the time, but it's such an inconsistent pokemon because of its reliance on hax.

also bullet seed torterra is pretty legit as long as golem is still around.

Actually it's 55% chance for Swagger Liepard to die T1, counting for miss (45% is for Liepard to live), making it all the more inconsistent.
