Other Icy Cold Gimmicks-1v1 Triumvirate; within an hour I got to Ladder

Physical Tyranitar

formerly Marquis of Blaze
Okay, well, my name is Physical Tyranitar, I'm a regular in the Lobby Room, and I am a self-proclaimed Frontier Brain, who took over Battle Hall. So, I have a Custom Sprite and Such:

Anyway, a Pokemon Therapist noticed that I was getting tired of Pokemon because it was the same boring twenty Pokemon. I was about to leave Showdown when I realized the "1v1" option in the "Other Metas" section. So I gave it a try. Within an hour, my threesome-er, I mean, triumvirate, has gotten some auditions, twists, and turns and people were fired, put on probation, let off, went on strike, but in the end, the three awesome hot mamas remained. So, here's the calvalry:

Mega Charizard Y
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Nature: Timid Ability: Drought
-Solar Beam
-Blast Burn
-Dragon Pulse
-Air Slash
The common ORAS threat that is Icy Cold Corps. main special attacker. Sporting a monstrous Base 159 Special Attack and decent 115 Special Defense, it stops many Pokemon but falls short to all gimmicks. I needed it on my team because of the likes of Sableye, Sylveon, Aegislash, and others that ran amok, laughing off Physical Attacks. So, I needed a strong, fast Pokemon that was capable of destroying mountains, and didn't die on a hit. Blast Burn has a STAB Attack with 150 Base Power, Boosted in the sun, which destroys even Specially defensive walls. Regular Sableye's puny defenses will leave it destroyed. Sylveon will definitely not be smiling, possibly getting ready for suicide. Solar Beam needs no prep in the sun, which can kill many Water types, although on second thought not really; Milotic, Politoed, and various others will live to fight back, and Swampert can rape Charizard if it holds a Rindo Berry, it will take 60% damage and KO. Nevertheless, Dragon Pulse can make a huge dent, which will do massive damage to Hydreigon, Haxorus, Garchomp that was too unfortunate to miss that Stone Edge, and put the hurt on Black Kyurem. Since Showdown's hax is really whack, there is nothing more gleeful than flinch haxing with STAB Air Slash to put Super-Effective damage on Mega Venusaur, and Breloom.

Greninja@Life Orb
EVs: 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Attack
Hasty Nature Ability: Protean
-Taunt
-Hydro Cannon
-Dark Pulse
-Gunk Shot
A classic deviation from the classic Golden-Globe winner. While Gallade went from OU to NU, Greninja went from PU to Ubers in a matter of decades. Yeah, you know how much Humans suck and don't deserve to be alive; from them Magnemite gimmicks to them Nosepass bullshit and don't forget the mofoing Smeargle non-sense, one never notices the surprise shock of the lifetime with Taunt, a really good notion in the metagame. Hydro Cannon + STAB + Life Orb is awesome. OHKOs most threats, gotcha. Gunk Shot shoots that fresh bladder production in Sylveon's face. Dark Pulse is just there because it's there, you know?

avalugg_sprite_by_noscium-d6phum5.png

Avalugg@Weakness Policy
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Attack, 4 Special Defense
Nature: Brave Ability:Sturdy
-Avalanche
-Gyro Ball
-Crunch
-Return

You know, I really needed this nice, cool giant ice golem because I used the threats. All of them. Mega Salamence, Greninja, Black Kyurem, you know, the whole kazoo. But within nano-seconds each and last one of them were countered. But then I was scouring the stupid 1v1 thread and saw a loser broadcast an Avalugg set. With Sturdy. Come to think of it, most Pokemon with high offensive stats, bad typing, and Sturdy would take advantage of it. But Avalugg fits me best with Gyro Ball. So, it's pretty straight foward. Let yourself almost die, then, BAM, Weakness Policy activates, gating for an OHKO. Avalanche has Base 180 power and will usually KO when +2. Crunch? COVERAGE, YO. COVERAGE.

black_kyurem_by_cuteskitty-d5knqq2.png

Bk@Choice Scarf
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Special Attack
Ability: Teravolt Nature: Naive
-Outrage
-Fusion Bolt
-Iron Head
-Earth Power

Why I need it? To eliminate other Pokemon's abilities. The Moves? Spam a STAB Outrage to kill most threats. Fusion Bolt to destroy Gyarados. Iron Head hits Gardevoir and sends it back into the grave. In depth, I need it because it is a classic threat, Teravolt stopping any Sturdy Gimmicks running amok. Earth Power OHKOs Weakness Policy Aggron and Magnezone, and Iron Head OHKOs Sylveon, who otherwise would be a threat. Fusion Bolt hits abnormally hard, but sadly, it is taken by many of the Counter gimmicks. It serves as the backbone of my team, being very reliable. It has to watch out for Mega Lopunny, who may survive Outrage to OHKO.
Ha! Aggron, Golem, Magnezone, ALL DEAD! BY ALL DEAD!

Constructive criticism wanted! Arrogant Mamas Boys saying my team is unrealistic, lame, without evidence(cough cough, Megazard Z) NOT WANTED! Thank you, thank you.

Um I've been trying to help rate stuff. Not put you down. I think you should consider the RMT rules too, since your team has more pokemon that is legal. Also Air Slash Zard Y is awful, a resisted blast burn still hits way harder in the sun, so I very much doubt that you know what you're talking about enough to warrant that comment. If you want a rate, run ancient power instead to hit other zards

Am I crazy, or are there four Pokemon here for what's supposed to be a 1v1 "triumvirate"?

Anyway, I don't have the time for a full rate right now, but as Megazard Z said, Ancient Power is a useful move for Charizard Y.

Avalugg's moveset is pretty weird and seems kind of arbitrary. I personally run Avalanche / Earthquake / Stone Edge / Mirror Coat. Mirror Coat in particular is pretty fun and catches people off guard.

Might add more later

This may be a little tough to take in, but you are only able to bring a team of 3 in the tier 1v1, whereas you have 4. I'd suggest Substitute or Ancient Power>Air Slash on Charizard to be able to take on Status, Mirror Coat, and Metal Burst shenanigan or Ancient Power for opposing Charizard or Flying-types.

I also see weaknesses to Specs Meloetta and Specs Greninja, which you can't really take on with any of your Pokemon without luck. I'd suggest a Fighting-type (maybe Conkeldurr) which could also help you more against Mega-Sableye or other Bulky things to counteract this in place of Kyurem-B or whatever. The set would be something like:

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab

252+ Atk Conkeldurr Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Meloetta: 304-358 (89.1 - 104.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO (killed with Mach Punch next turn)
252+ Atk Conkeldurr Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Greninja: 392-464 (137.5 - 162.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Meloetta Psychic vs. 0 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Conkeldurr: 302-356 (86 - 101.4%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Conkeldurr: 214-253 (60.9 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (factored in Hydro Cannon damage)

Hey mate, first of all like everyone mentioned this team has 4 Pokemon which doesn't really work for 1v1.

For Charizard Y I suggest running Ancient Power over Dragon Pulse, and Will-O-Wisp over Air Slash. Ancient power gives you the chance to takes on the odd of other Charizard Y, and talonflame. While Will-o-Wisp gives you the upper hand against lvl.1 Pokemon and Mega Gyarados which has become a threat in today's metagame. You may also consider Focus Blast to take on heatran by due to it's rarity I suggest not caring about it.

I'm going to suggest like BenOhver, an assault vest user but not Conkeldurr. I'm suggesting Assault Vest Pangoro, at a glance it doesn't seem like a great choice due to it's numerous weakness, but, is in reality a threat. Running enough bulk, and attack lets you take on the odds of Kyurem-Black, Meloetta, Charizard Y, Sturdy mon if running mold breaker. It loses to the same things that conkeldurr loses, yet has more potential.

Eating Seeds (Pangoro) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Power-Up Punch
- Superpower
- Poison Jab
- Knock Off

If you could update the thread to show 3 Pokemon, I could help more identifying the threats and which Pokemon needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try both Pangoro and Conkeldurr, two big Fighting-Types, and see who has the best strength.

As with "Triumverate", it was supposed to be a joke, like, "there are three types of people. Those who can count, and those who can't."
