And so, for the first time in months, we find ourselves back at the BBP Arena! Today's match features a newcomer, joining at what is basically the worst time in terms of activity, but valiantly willing tho fight nonetheless. In the other corner, a seasoned veteran, a legend among BBP players, the great Bug specialist himself: it is Maxim!

In terms of teams, Maxim unsurprisingly brought two Bug-types, who will compete against a Scorbunny and a Gossifleur. Now, the latter may not be the biggest threat, but the former will likely put in work due to Fire typing and Bounce, which get a tremendous advantage against Maxim's bugs!
However, as we all know, matchups are volatile, and we will watch how TheUltraFinder will play their cards. Will they adapt on the fly and snatch an impressive victory, or will the more experienced Maxim use all the tricks in the box to showcase how important knowledge is? Time to flip the coin!

I think it's really telling that our challenger here gets crit right out of the gate, on the first action of their first match.
But anyway.
Maxim manages to gain the upper hand by outdamaging Scorbunny, in part thanks to the aforementioned crit. The UltraFinder tries throwing super effective moves at Cupra, but the bug is tankier than it appears! Our challenger will also have some explaining to do about that Growl, because they could have squeezed more damage in instead.
The first and most important lesson in BBP is: damage is key to win. If you don't damage your opponent, how will you win? (ENKOs are a thing but, as the ENKO specialist here, take my word for it: it rarely works outside of specific scenarii)
It's no big deal, though: Scorbunny isn't far behind, and learning is a natural part of the game. Unless that Growl was a galaxy brain play and I'm not smart enough to comprehend it.
Will Maxim switch? It's likely, but how does Karrablast fare against Scorbunny? Let's see how it plays out!​

Things are turning sour for our newcomer here, as their firepower is worse than the previous round! They can only squeeze one more attack in, most likely!
