In-Game Strategy Pokedex

Ok, so this will be my Strategy guide for ingame use in BW. I got the idea from aragornbird, who has a similar guide on GameFaqs for HG/SS. I won't be using event Pokemon (Victini, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect) and I won't be using DW Pokemon (very slight possibility, there's so many). I plan to have two movesets for the Pokemon. One at level 55 (with all the available moves by that level), which is when most have evolved and the player's reached the league, and one at level 75, for the battles against Cynthia, Elite 4 rematch, Gamefreak director etc. The level 75 movesets will be added later on. The format will be the following:

Sprite of Pokemon
Pokemon name (in brackets the level it evolves into final form / other evolutionary methods))
Typing
Ability (preferred one goes first if it has two)
Power: X/10
Availability: X/10
Movepool: X/10

Serperior (36)
Grass
Overgrow
Power: 6/10
Availability: 10/10
Movepool: 3/10

- Coil
- Leaf Blade
- Return
- Iron Tail / Aerial Ace / Dragon Tail

Serperior, while having a pretty cool design, is unfortunately the worst of the three starter Pokemon. It has only average offenses at best and a very poor movepool, which are both necessary for In-Game. It does however possess good defenses and excellent speed, making it a tankish Pokemon. It only really finds use in the later stages of the game. Its signature move, Coil, allows it to to boost its Attack, Defense and Accuracy all in one turn, which can make it quite threatening after a turn of setup. Leaf Blade is a reliable STAB attack, while Return gives it coverage, and another high BP move. Iron Tail is possibly the best option for the last slot, since its accuracy gets boosted by Coil and it hits Ice types super-effectively. Aerial Ace is slightly stronger than Return against Grass and Bug types, which resist its STAB, while Dragon Tail allows it to deal damage while shuffling the opponents team. It will almost always go last, however, which kind of takes away the point of using Serperior and its high speed in the first place.

Emboar (36)
Fire / Fighting
Blaze
Power: 8/10
Availability: 10/10
Movepool: 8/10

- Flame Charge
- Heat Crash
- Hammer Arm / Brick Break
- Head Smash / Rock Slide

Emboar is easily one of the best Fire types available. He's a starter Pokemon, so you don't even have to catch him, it has two very good STAB types, a very high attack stat and an extensive movepool. His speed however, is below average, but that can easily be fixed by using Flame charge. Heat Crash is a powerful move that deals more damage the heavier Emboar is compared to the target. And this fat pig weighs a LOT. Hammer Arm is his strongest Fighting STAB move, but it lowers his speed, so the weaker Brick Break can be used instead. Finally, Emboar should run a Rock move for coverage. Head Smash is incredibly powerful, but also deals massive recoil. Rock Slide is safer, but is only half as strong as Head Smash. Emboar also has a very usable special attack and special movepool, with moves like Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Grass Knot, Scald and Focus Blast. Pure physical sets may be slightly outclassed by Darmanitan though, since he boasts higher attack and speed.

Samurott (36)
Water
Torrent
Power: 8/10
Availability: 10/10
Movepool: 7/10

- Surf
- Megahorn
- Blizzard / Grass Knot
- Waterfall

Samurott is probably the best Water type available in the Unima region. It has solid offensive stats backed by good HP, and a movepool with all the necessary moves to be effective. Samurotts best shot is at going mixed, allowing it to hit opponents from both ends of the spectrum. Surf is his strongest and most reliable STAB move. Megahorn is an extremely powerful Bug type move, and it hits Grass type Pokemon that could pose a threat super-effectively. Blizzard has great coverage with Water, but the low PP and accuracy can be off-putting. Grass Knot is another special alternative that lets Samurott deal with other Water types. Waterfall is a strong physical STAB move, and is useful outside of battle in order to obtain items like Rare Candy that can only be obtained by using a Pokemon that knows Waterfall.

This could end up pretty long, so I'm just reserving this in case I need more space. Mods can delete this message if it proves unnecessary.

umm... what purpose does this article intend to serve? I really don't see where you are going with this and would like to know before you do all this work and its rejected.

Just gives people an idea of the capabilities of a certain Pokemon before they catch it, train it. Purely for ingame obviously. You could look at it as a more in depth version of the ingame tiers

That's extremely vague, can you fully do one Pokemon so we can have an idea on what your are trying to do?

Done Serperior

EDIT: Damn I see your point firecape. Just saw Fireburns thread on the ingame tiers, didn't realize he'd done descriptions and that too. I thought it was just a list, like the thread on Dragonspiral Tower. I understand if my thread gets rejected, but if not I'm definetly prepared to continue it :)

what is this i dont even

No but really, this is not what we're looking for in articles. Thanks for the idea, but in the future, get your ideas approved before posting or working on them.
