Other Inaugural Smogon TCG Pocket Tournament [Won by JabbaTheGriffin]

Quick update w/r/t formatting here. After creating a preliminary double-elim knockout bracket, I discovered that there will be a pretty significant number of first-round byes. It was suggested that we run a swiss bracket instead, so I have created a poll between the two options in the discord.

Polls will close tomorrow at noon est. I will then finalize the bracket in preparation for the close of signups, which will be Sunday at noon EST.

Right now, it is looking as if we will have an open deck format. I would ask the players to generally keep to an honor system w/r/t open decklists--send the whole list to your opponent, don't lie about your list, etc.
 
After voting has concluded we have decided on a Swiss format for the tournament.

We are going to try for 5-day rounds. If this does not work for you please let me know; if enough people have issues with this, we will extend to 1-week.

After a little definition misunderstanding, the format of this tournament is Open Decklist with NO swapping decks mid-set. There is also a 3-deck limit for the entire tournament. What does this mean?
  • Prior to the tournament start, everyone will submit up to three (3) decklists to me via smogon or discord pm. These deck lists will then be published and publicly available.
  • You are not allowed to swap decks DURING each 3-game set. You will have to use the deck you initially select for the entire set. However, between tournament sets (i.e. when you play a different opponent) you may swap which deck you choose for the next set.
The tournament will get underway when I have received all decklists.

Re: Trading - the deadline to submit decks will be 24h after trading is released via update. If you plan on trading for specific cards to fill out a deck, you are still able to (and are encouraged) to submit preliminary decklists as long as you:

1) Indicate the preliminary decks and note which cards you are waiting to trade for, and
2) If the deck submission deadline comes and you were unable to fill out the decklist as you were hoping, you indicate this to me AND replace the cards / deck with a version with cards that you do indeed own.

Finally, players who have already submitted their decks to me are able to modify their decklists if they would like to trade for specific cards. Decks will not be publicized until after the deadline and I am not changing my decks, so you do not have to worry about repercussions. Just reach out to me if you would like to do so.
 
Hello everyone! Trading has officially released. This means you have 24 hours (I'll be nice and say a little after 1pm EST on Thursday due to my schedule) to submit decks to me. Please note that stamina is required to trade high-rarity cards, so please don't count on having to trade for tons of EXs for your deck.

If you do not submit your decklists to me by the 1pm EST Thursday deadline, you will be DQ'ed.

We've been waiting for long enough. As a reminder, you can submit preliminary decklists, so there is really no excuse for not sending in your trades.

Isza has been disqualified for failure to submit a deck list by the deadline.

The swiss bracket will be randed and posted later this evening. Again, expect 5-day rounds.
