NU Inteleon

Inteleon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn

The newest Water-type starter has made a splash in NU in SCL, having one of the strongest STAB moves in the tier as well as incredible Speed. Although Inteleon is walled by Water Absorb Pokemon such as Mantine and Vaporeon, their usage has dropped recently in favor of shakier Water-type checks like Dragalge and Rotom-C. Water Absorb Pokemon are also rarely used on offense teams, replaced with frailer Water-immune options like Toxicroak and Heliolisk, which Inteleon more easily beats. Hydro Pump can guarantee an OHKO on neutral Pokemon such as Xatu, Tauros, and Sirfetch'd, and outspeeding Salazzle gives it a solid niche over Starmie. Dark Pulse and U-turn help against Water-immune Pokemon; the former hits them for neutral damage while also hitting Starmie super effectively, while the latter lets Inteleon bring a teammate in like Heliolisk, Toxicroak, or Dragalge that easily takes advantage of them.

The newest water starter has made a resurgence [you SURE you don't want to say "splash" and be corny? really? ok] in NU in SCL, having one of the strongest STAB moves in the tier as well as a blazing fast speed tier. Although Inteleon is walled by Water Absorb Pokemon such as Mantine and Vaporeon, their usage has dropped recently. [instead of framing it as good solely because of trends, i'd talk about its good matchup versus offensive teams in general, since those two water absorb pokemon never appear on more offensive teams - only the occasional helio/croak]. This means that more teams are relying on less reliable Water-type checks such as Grass- and Dragon-types, allowing Inteleon to shine. Hydro Pump is capable of OHKOing neutral Pokemon such as Xatu, Tauros, and Sirfetch'd, all of which are not guaranteed by Starmie. Ice Beam allows it to hit Grass- and Dragon-types that resist its STAB would normally wall it, namely Guzzlord, Dragalge, and Vileplume [also mention this being its best move against dry skin heliolisk and toxicroak]. Dark Pulse and U-Turn aims to mitigate Inteleon's main weakness of Water Absorb Pokemon: Dark Pulse allows neutral coverage on them while hitting Starmie for super effective damage, and U-Turn allows Inteleon to pivot into Pokemon that can take advantage of them. Because of this, Inteleon pairs extremely well with breakers such as Heliolisk, Toxicroak, and Dragalge which abuse these Pokemon very well.

Meri Berry good job, have a few comments that are important but should be pretty easy to implement. QC 1/1 once you do that
