currently rocking a 1431 rating (with 1 win still being recorded) at 4-8. im using my 2011 nats team of thunderus/vanilluxe/stunfisk/conkeldur/bisharp/sawsbuck. recorded my last battle which came out to be really close.
Entertaining battle. You're the first person I've seen to make Stunfisk seem useful!

Sadly most VGC2011 teams just don't cut it in a VGC2012 environment :(

As for me, I'm calling it a night. Unlike you younglings, some of us have to work for a living! 1607 rating, 27 battles.

I'll have something uploaded on Youtube shortly. Fairly entertaining battle all around, excellent plays on both side of the field.

Gonna call it a day at 4-2. Both losses to Japanese players. Had two wins against people who I'm pretty sure had no idea what they were doing. All in all, meh battles. I 4-0'd everyone I beat, and in my two losses I was 4-0'd and 3-2'd (I forfeited when I had no chance of winning).

I just played a Japanese dude at like 1600ish who had a Floatzel on his team

what a MAN

I was kind of hoping he'd win

14-2-2-2 for 1646 so far (win/loss/dc on opponents end/dc on my end), got a little of a late start because I was in a lecture when the tournament started and had to do some grocery shopping afterward. Have been pleased with my connection working better than it did with the ISP I had during the autumn friendly, mostly stable outside of a hiccup even playing on the opposite side of the house than the router. Great having the Japanese guys around though, even the lower rated ones tend to make really bright decisions compared to their equivalents from other countries. I think as a region their Pokemon choice tends to be a lot wiser, too... the almost universal favoring of bulky pokemon even among the lower rated players make them a lot tougher outs than the lower rated NA and EU players who tend to use a lot of flimsy shit they don't know how to support because they like them

Did I really just spend like four hours on this? LOL, this better not be a repeat of last time. Anyway, ending the day with a rating of 1664, check out this post for a log of all my battles. And on that note...

I'm liking how my Pokemon have been frozen more often than I have frozen the opponent's Pokemon... when I'm using a Blizzardspam team. >_>
And everytime I approach the 1700 mark, something bad happens. This time it was a person who had a Scarfed Hydreigon that kept getting Critical Hits.

EDIT: nevermind about the freeze thing, just had a battle where I froze 3 Pokemon solid (the 4th was Garchomp and got OHKO'd)

BV:25-92783-40490

I just had a battle that after rewatching it i didn't realize I nearly perfectly predicted him after getting parahaxed turn1 ruining my strategy. Im quite tired and almost fell asleep during this match but managed
to pull a pretty wow 4-0.

Currently 4-0-2(should be 5-1), and ill call it a night.

Calling it a night, peaked 1668, currently at 1651 with a 19-6 record and 1 DQ

Gl to everyone continuing with this tourney tonight

And lucky Cybertron, getting a camera that works this late, and cool standard team bro :3

Edit- 500 POSTS :D

I was going to use my Trick Room Hail team but after I lost my 3DS and games, I was too lazy to get all my Pokemon back and just settled with a simple but effective standard team =(

Oh cool, 2,500th post on Smogon!

Most common Pokemon I've seen on teams, in no particular order:

Garchomp, Latias, Latios, Weavile, Zapdos, Scizor, Cresselia, Tyranitar, Politoed, Kingdra, Metagross, Rotom-C

Regularly seen but not as often:

Hitmontop, Abomasnow, Ninetales, Arcanine, Landorus, Volcarona, Rotom-F, Rotom-H, Ferrothorn

You'd think you would see more of these:

Thundurus, Tornadus, Dragonite, Terrakion, Gastrodon, Salamence

By the way, everyone who told me I didn't need to worry about Minimize Chansey/Blissey when I was building my team? You're all liars.

That's because they are two different settings, you have 30 minutes here which is significantly greater than the 15 minutes you get at VGCs.

6-0 for the night. Only one DC, happened even before the match started. = \

Some pretty intense battles so far. Not nearly as much weather as I thought I would see.

I think I'm gonna stop for the night after seeing an Abomasnow dodge three Heat Waves, this is just getting too frustrating.

John from colorado
someone mentioned a chansey team with intim users, I thought it was cool enough to use my entry and rock it out
maybe with a gastro in the back for funzies

15 battles and no DCs going 10-5 right now. Been getting lots of bs myself and not giving it blah blah <insert bitchy statement about hax> I'm really loving this time to be able to get a better feel of my team and not seeing the same thing every time I battle :D

edit: damn it person from Mexico who I can't recall your name, but DCing on me ;>.>

Right now I'm at 1704 points. My record is 22 W, 2 L and about 4 D/C's not bad. This time you can play a decent amount of games till the end. But that's just the first day, the other time the first day was about the same as today. Let's see what happens tomorrow, it'll be my last day because on saturday I have the Spaninsh vgc =)

peaked 1608 with 16-4

Now I'm at like 1512 with 16-12.

I don't know what happened okay? I think I dozed off at around 12:30 am and kept hitting the a button. That and constant misses on my part/constant crits on the opponent's before that at around 16-7.

anyway I'm gonna stop for today, and everybody I faced had tyranitar I swear to god.

They must really not want me to get back to 1700. Every time I get close I end up with a "Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong" sort of battle. I envy the people who find it okay to haphazardly throw around 70% accurate moves in battles. I can no longer say that I haven't lost to anyone below 1500 rating.

As promised:

Tomorrow I'm going to live record some battles (won't be broadcasting live though). Should be interesting.

It's too bad we can't see what nicknames people use. Or maybe that's a good thing.

Think I'm done for a few hours.

Rating: 1660
Battles Completed: 20 (18-2-1)

14 battles without a single DC and 3 forfeits.
Well, that´s a 9-5 for me. I hope I do better tomorrow.

Ah, I remember now, some asian guy with a non-eviolite murkrow almost kick the shit out of me, with something as simple as a Swagger/LumBerry combo. I really need to be more careful =S

Finally made it back, about 20 some odd battles after I originally made it to 1700. I'm calling it a day.

Here's another battle video: 36-03894-51580
Now imagine losing due to similar degrees of bad luck about 4 more times, and you get what I feel for the past 4 hours or so. Even my patience starts to run thin after this sort of thing.
