Iron Treads has a niche as an interesting entry hazard lead in the metagame. With both Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin, it can lay entry hazards while keeping them off for its teammates, and it is very threatening to Magic Bounce Pokemon in Mega Diancie and Hatterene. Steel Beam allows Iron Treads to sacrifice itself quickly in order to deny Defog attempts from the likes of Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Rotom-W. It is also Iron Treads's main tool of pressuring Hatterene, and it is generally powerful enough to chunk certain Ground-resistant and immune Pokemon, like Landorus-T, Tornadus-T, and Buzzwole. Booster Energy and Quark Drive together allows Iron Treads to outrun the entire unboosted metagame as well as Choice Scarf users like Tapu Lele, Urshifu-R, and Gholdengo, allowing it to consistently lay entry hazards. Tera Ghost allows Iron Treads to block opposing Rapid Spin attempts from Great Tusk if necessary. Iron Treads should be used as a lead on hyper offense teams, so other support teammates and sweepers are natural partners. Dual screens setters like Grimmsnarl and Tapu Koko allow their sweeping teammates another layer of support and safety, and they can use Taunt to consistently deny Defog attempts even after Iron Treads has fainted. Common hyper offense sweepers, like Mega Gyarados, Galarian Moltres, Kingambit, Volcarona, and Baxcalibur appreciate Iron Treads laying Stealth Rock while keeping hazards off at the same time. The former two in particular appreciate this, as Mega Gyarados is weak to Stealth Rock before mega evolving, while Galarian Moltres often prefers other items over Heavy-Duty Boots.

Iron Treads has a niche as an interesting suicide lead in the metagame. Access to both Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin allows it to lay entry hazards while keeping them off for its teammates, and it is very threatening to Magic Bounce Pokemon in Mega Diancie and Hatterene. whose Magic Bounce makes them roadblocks to other suicide leads in the tier. Steel Beam allows Iron Treads to sacrifice sack itself off quickly in order to deny Defog attempts from the likes of Tornadus-T, Landorus-T, and Rotom-W. It is also Iron Treads' main tool of pressuring Hatterene, and is generally powerful enough to chunk many Pokemon that do not resist it. would like some examples Booster Energy and Quark Drive together allows Iron Treads to outrun the entire unboosted metagame as well as many Choice Scarf users, such as? therefore allowing it to consistently lay entry hazards. Tera Ghost allows Iron Treads to block opposing Rapid Spin attempts from Great Tusk and Cyclizar if necessary. A Naive nature allows Earthquake into Steel Beam to always 2HKO physically defensive Hatterene. Iron Treads should be used as a lead on hyper offense teams, so other hyper offense support teammates and hyper offense sweepers are natural partners. Dual screens Screens setters like Grimmsnarl and Tapu Koko allow their sweeping teammates another layer of support and safety, and they can use Taunt to consistently deny Defog attempts even after Iron Treads has fainted. Common hyper offense sweepers, like Mega Gyarados, Galarian Moltres, Kingambit, Volcarona, and Iron Valiant appreciate Iron Treads laying Stealth Rock while keeping hazards off at the same time. The former two in particular appreciate this, as Mega Gyarados is weak to Stealth Rock before mega evolving, while Galarian Moltres often prefers other items over Heavy-Duty Boots.

evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Max SpA gives you favorable odds to 2hko defensive Lando-T and Torn-T with Steel Beam, whereas max attack doesn't really make huge differences since Bulky Dengo lives anyways and you merely 2hko regardless. You also OHKO hatterene with Steel Beam now 75% of the time.

Common hyper offense sweepers, like Mega Gyarados, Galarian Moltres, Kingambit, Volcarona, and Iron Valiant might add other mons as an example for this, such as Baxcalibur/Weavile/Iron Moth, whatever you need necessary, as the stealth rock doesn't make a huge difference with Iron Valiant, especially on HO teams. appreciate Iron Treads laying Stealth Rock while keeping hazards off at the same time. The former two in particular appreciate this, as Mega Gyarados is weak to Stealth Rock before mega evolving, while Galarian Moltres often prefers other items over Heavy-Duty Boots.
