[SET COMMENTS]

Jellicent is one of the best checks to a bunch of prominent Pokemon, such as Barraskewda, Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Dracovish, that OU has to offer. On top of that, it's a pretty decent balance breaker as well, capable of annoying common cores such as Ferrothorn + Toxapex thanks to its access to Will-O-Wisp and Taunt. Night Shade is the preferred attack in order to consistently break the Substitute from Pokemon such as Corviknight, Gyarados, and Togekiss and deal consistent damage to Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Strength Sap enables Jellicent to cripple physical wallbreakers such as Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Hawlucha while also giving it access to recovery. Additionally, Will-O-Wisp can further cripple the aforementioned physical wallbreakers and also allows Jellicent to annoy Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Corviknight. Taunt shuts down passive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Reuniclus, and Hippowdon, turning Jellicent into a decent wallbreaker. Recover is an option instead of Strength Sap to give Jellicent an upperhand against Pokemon with low Attack like Clefable, Reuniclus, and Toxapex. Water Absorb is the preferred ability because it enables Jellicent to switch into threatening wallbreakers like Barraskewda and Dracovish, although you should be wary of Crunch while doing as such. 60 Speed EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed Corviknight; the rest of the EVs are invested into Defense alongside a Bold nature to check offensive threats like Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Dracovish better.

Jellicent fits best on balance teams that are otherwise weak to Pokemon like Barraskewda and Dracovish that can't afford to run Seismitoad because of Galarian Darmanitan and appreciate Jellicent's ability to block Rapid Spin. Ferrothorn synergizes very well with Jellicent, taking on Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Gengar, which can prove to be problems for Jellicent. Jellicent also complements Ferrothorn nicely, as its immunity to Rapid spin allows it to keep hazards up. Because Jellicent tends to bait Hydreigon in, it's important to have checks to it, such as Clefable and Mandibuzz.

On top of that, it's a pretty decent balance breaker as well, capable of annoying common cores such as Ferrothorn + Toxapex thanks to its access to Will-O-Wisp and Taunt. Night Shade is the preferred attacking move on this set (option makes it a tad unclear imo)option in order to consistently break the Substitute from Pokemon such as Corviknight, Gyarados, and Togekiss, as well as consistent damage to Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn. Strength Sap enables Jellicent to cancel out cripple physical wallbreakers such as Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Hawlucha, while also giving it access to recovery. Even though Strength Sap is generally better, I still think Recover deserves a set comments mention somewhere because it means that Jellicent can abuse stuff like Toxapex, Reuni, and def Clef that are pretty passive when you can't heal on them for nearly as much otherwise. To add onto that, Will-O-Wisp can further cripple the aforementioned physical wallbreakers and also allows Jellicent to annoy Pokemon like Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Corviknight. Taunt shuts down passive Pokemon such as Toxapex, Reuniclus, and Hippowdon, turning Jellicent into a decent wallbreaker. Water Absorb is the preferred ability because it enables Jellicent to switch into threatening Wallbreakers like Barraskewda and Dracovish, although you should be wary of Crunch while doing as such. 60 Speed EVs allow Jellicent to outspeed uninvested Corviknight; the rest of the EVs alongside a Bold nature are invested into Defense to check offensive threats like Galarian Darmanitan, Excadrill, and Dracovish better.

Jellicent fits best on defensively oriented balance (I know stall isn't really a thing right now, but it's still good to specify balance) teams that are otherwise weak to Pokemon like Barraskewda and Dracovish that either can't afford to run Seismitoad because of Galarian Darmanitan find a way to say something along the lines of the first part + "or appreciate Jellicent's ability to spinblock/access to reliable recovery" or something along those lines. Ferrothorn synergizes very well with Jellicent, taking on Pokemon such as Rotom-W and Gengar, which can prove to be problems for Jellicent Mention how jelli spinblocks to keep spikes up here. Because Jellicent tends to bait Hydreigon in, it's important to have checks to it such as Clefable and Mandibuzz.
