UU Jirachi

:ss/Jirachi:

[OVERVIEW]

Jirachi's wide movepool, great utility options like Healing Wish, and amazing ability in Serene Grace make it a potent and versatile force in UU. Serene Grace gives Iron Head a high chance to flinch slower foes like Hydreigon, making Choice Scarf Jirachi extremely difficult to deal with for offensive teams. Additionally, Jirachi's above average bulk and great defensive typing allow it to check threats like Nihilego and Hatterene. Jirachi can fulfill a wide variety of roles on teams, whether it's revenge killing threats like Azelf with Choice Scarf, providing great utility in the form of Stealth Rock and Healing Wish, or healing its team with Wish. However, Jirachi's reliance on Leftovers for checking Pokemon like Salamence and Hatterene makes it susceptible to Knock Off from Nihilego and Tangrowth. Jirachi has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against foes it lacks coverage for, with common defensive staples like Aegislash, Excadrill, and Amoonguss walling it regardless.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Iron Head
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Trick / Ice Punch
move 4: Healing Wish
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Choice Scarf Jirachi is a potent revenge killer, outspeeding threats like Lycanroc-D, Azelf, and +1 Dragon Dance Gyarados. Iron Head can OHKO Pokemon like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D and, in conjunction with Serene Grance, possibly break through Pokemon like Hydreigon and Primarina with flinches. U-turn gets momentum against switch-ins like Aegislash and Excadrill as well as Pokemon it may not have coverage for like Gyarados and Thundurus-T. Trick lets Jirachi cripple defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Slowking, but losing Choice Scarf compromises Jirachi's ability to revenge kill Pokemon like Azelf and Zarude, so it should be used wisely. Ice Punch is an option to nail Thundurus-T and Salamence, while Thunder Punch more reliably beats Gyarados and Azumarill. Zen Headbutt lets Jirachi slam Amoonguss and Conkeldurr. However, locking into coverage moves leaves Jirachi open to threats like Aegislash and Excadrill. Jirachi can utilize Healing Wish late-game to give a teammate another chance to sweep or defensively answer a threat.

Choice Scarf Jirachi fits on balance and bulky offense teams, which appreciate its revenge killing capabilities and Healing Wish. Zarude makes an excellent partner for it, completely blanking Slowking and Substitute + Toxic Aegislash , threatening Excadrill, and absorbing status and Knock Off. Amoonguss can also absorb Knock Off and can check faster threats like Choice Scarf Zarude. Wallbreakers like Thundurus-T, Conkeldurr, and Hydreigon can be brought in via U-turn on checks like Moltres, Excadrill, and Tangrowth. They all can benefit from Healing Wish too. Moltres forms a solid pivoting core with Jirachi, with each bringing the other in on their answers. Moltres also helps check Celesteela, Excadrill, and Amoonguss, while Jirachi can revenge kill threats like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D. Moltres and Excadrill can provide entry hazard control to keep Jirachi from getting worn down. Entry hazard support from Nihilego and Krookodile helps Jirachi wear down Pokemon like Primarina and Hatterene more easily. Nihilego can also check Mandibuzz, while Krookodile can revenge kill Aegislash and Excadrill.

[SET]
name: Wish + Protect
move 1: Wish
move 2: Protect
move 3: Iron Head
move 4: U-turn
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 16 SpD / 240 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Wish keeps Jirachi healthy throughout a match, allowing it to check threats like Salamence and Hatterene more reliably. Jirachi can pass Wish to teammates that lack reliable recovery like Swampert. It distinguishes itself from Umbreon in this role thanks to U-turn, which makes passing Wishes easier. U-turn also allows Jirachi to pivot out against threats like Aegislash and Mandibuzz. Protect ensures Jirachi will receive its Wishand nets more Leftovers recovery. It also lets Jirachi scout Choice-locked threats like Zygarde-10% and Primarina. 240 Speed EVs let Jirachi outspeed Hydreigon, with the remaining EVs put in Special Defense and HP to better check Pokemon like Salamence and Nihilego.

This set best fits on balance teams, which appreciate Jirachi healing the team with Wish while bringing teammates in safely with U-turn. Wallbreakers that get worn down easily like Mamoswine and Conkeldurr greatly enjoy Wish, and U-turn can bring them in on targets like Celesteela and Aegislash. Rhyperior, Diancie, and Swampert check threats like Galarian Moltres, Thundurus-T, and Rotom-H. They enjoy Jirachi offsetting their lack of recovery with Wish support in return. The former two can also act as secondary checks to Salamence and Togekiss, with Diancie supporting Jirachi with Heal Bell as well. Amoonguss can check Zarude and absorb Knock Off for Jirachi. Moltres also checks Zarude and can beat Steel-types like Aegislash and Skarmory that Jirachi lures in. Zarude can bring Jirachi in safely to use Wish against Zarude's checks like Togekiss while also removing Aegislash and Slowking. Rotom-W forms a great defensive core with Jirachi, being able to check threats like Moltres and Starmie. It also enjoys having the freedom to run Defog or Will-O-Wisp over Pain Split. Tentacruel and Excadrill can clear Spikes, while Jirachi can offset their lack of recovery.

[SET]
name: Stealth Rock
move 1: Iron Head
move 2: U-turn
move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Healing Wish
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 16 SpD / 240 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

U-turn generates momentum against switch-ins like Aegislash and Moltres. Jirachi can easily get Stealth Rock up against many Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego and Mamoswine, making it a solid Stealth Rock setter. Healing Wish is used late-game to enable a teammate's sweep or ability to check a threat. Body Slam can be used over Healing Wish to cripple switch-ins like Moltres and Swampert. Thunder Wave can be used for its greater consistency and to cripple Moltres without risking a Flame Body burn, but Jirachi will be unable to cripple Ground-types like Krookodile and Nidoking, making Body Slam preferred. Psychic can be used to 2HKO Conkeldurr, Amoonguss, and Nidoking. 240 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature let Jirachi outspeed Hydreigon, with the rest put in Special Defense and HP to better answer Nihilego and Salamence.

This set works best on bulky offense teams, which appreciate Jirachi's supportive capabilities. Salamence is an excellent partner for Jirachi, pressuring Pokemon like Excadrill and Tangrowth. In return, Jirachi helps take on Fairy- and Rock-types like Hatterene, Togekiss, and Nihilego. Amoonguss can absorb Knock Off for Jirachi and check threats like Zarude and Swampert. Wallbreakers like Thundurus-T and Choice Specs Primarina appreciate Jirachi's U-turn getting them in against Pokemon like Celesteela and Moltres. They also appreciate Jirachi providing Stealth Rock to soften up checks like Tapu Bulu and Slowking. Jirachi can form a potent VoltTurn core with Rotom-H and Rotom-W, as they can force out threats to Jirachi like Moltres and Celesteela. They can also provide Defog support to prevent Spikes from wearing Jirachi down. Late-game sweepers like Galarian Moltres and Gyarados appreciate Jirachi's Healing Wish and, in return, can KO Aegislash and Moltres.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Thunder is an option on Jirachi's Stealth Rock set to spread paralysis and allows Jirachi to beat Moltres and Skarmory, but it is difficult to fit over more useful moves. Jirachi can run a Substitute + Toxic set to wear down switch-ins like Rotom-W and Tangrowth, with Iron Head flinches accelerating Toxic damage, but it requires lots of team support, including removing Rocky Helmet and dealing with Toxic walls like Tentacruel and Zarude. Additionally, Jirachi faces heavy competition from SubToxic Aegislash due to it having better defensive stats and King's Shield to make progress. Jirachi can utilize a special attacker set with Meteor Beam to lure in and remove common switch-ins like Moltres and Rotom-H. However, this set struggles cover everything. Jirachi can use Calm Mind sets to sweep on hyper offense teams, but these also struggle to choose their coverage. Jirachi can utilize a mixed set, which can notably KO Amoonguss with Psychic while nailing Hatterene with Iron Head, but it lacks in power compared to other offensive Psychic-types like Azelf. Jirachi can run Stored Power sets with Calm Mind and Weakness Policy to accumulate many boosts and sweep, but these sets struggle to get past Aegislash and can be ineffective without many boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rotom-H, Moltres, and Chandelure take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can force it out with their powerful STAB attacks. Jirachi especially dislikes a burn from Moltres's Flame Body. However, none of them like Jirachi using Trick to remove their Heavy-Duty Boots.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela takes very little from Jirachi's attacks and can wear it down with Leech Seed + Flamethrower. Aegislash walls Jirachi and can use it as setup fodder or force it out. Excadrill also walls Jirachi and can devastate it with Earthquake. Cobalion and Skarmory can set entry hazards in front of Jirachi and chip it with Rocky Helmet recoil, though they dislike Trick and Thunder Wave.

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Seismitoad, and Swampert take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can cripple it or decently damage it. Volcanion quadruply resists Jirachi's Iron Head and can force it out. Slowking only fears Trick from Jirachi and can cripple it with a Scald burn.

**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Zarude, Krookodile, and Hydreigon offensively threaten Jirachi and force it out. Zarude and Choice Scarf sets of the latter two can revenge kill non-Choice Scarf Jirachi, with Choice Scarf Zarude outspeeding Choice Scarf variants as well. Mandibuzz and Umbreon don't mind Iron Head much and can wear it down with Foul Play. The latter also uses Inner Focus to block flinches and freely pass Wish to its teammates.

**Knock Off**: Pokemon carrying Knock Off like Tangrowth and Azelf can remove Leftovers to cripple defensive Jirachi, especially sets without Wish. Choice Scarf Jirachi becomes a much worse revenge killer without its item and can struggle to use Trick and Healing Wish effectively.

**Residual Damage and Status**: Due to Jirachi lacking reliable one-turn recovery, it is prone to getting worn down by entry hazards like Spikes as well as Rocky Helmet users like Skarmory, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss. Jirachi also hates burns and paralysis from Pokemon like Moltres and Rotom-W, with paralysis making it hard to outspeed threats like Krookodile and leverage U-turn.

[OVERVIEW]

-Jirachi's above average bulk and great defensive typing, letting it check threats such as Nihilego, choice-locked Primarina, and Hatterene, alongside a wide movepool makes it a potent force in UU.
-Jirachi can fulfill a wide variety of roles on teams thanks to the numerous viable sets it can run. It can act as a potent revenge killer with Choice Scarf, outspeeding and eliminating threats like Lycanroc-D and Heavy-Duty Boots Zarude. It can also provide a utility role on teams, acting as an entry hazard setter while providing its team with speed control in Thunder Wave and healing with Wish. Instead, talk about Healing Wish because it's a pretty big game-changer for a lot of teams. I'd give some examples of sweepers it can give a second chance to. Jirachi is also able to utilize a SubToxic set to wear down switch ins like Volcanion between Toxic damage and flinching them with Iron Head, preventing them with attacking.
-This unpredictability makes Jirachi especially dangerous, as one set can bypass another's checks. For example, Scizor must scout to see if Jirachi is running a Choice Scarf Fire Punch set, otherwise it is KOed and Jirachi makes significant progress against the enemy team I'm not as fond of the scizor example personally because all 3 of these sets have the potential to run Fire Punch. With us not having any mixed or offensive sets this point is kinda void.
-However, Jirachi suffers from being weak to Knock Off, an incredibly common move on Pokemon like Scizor and Tangrowth. It also struggles against tier staples like Rotom-H and Aegislash. It posses no recovery except the unreliable Wish, meaning Jirachi can get overloaded defensively checking Pokemon like Salamence and Primarina. Change this to say it's overly reliant on Leftovers, I'd also have this tied into your whole Knock Off bit because they can go hand in hand.
-Jirachi also has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against Pokemon it does not have adequate coverage for, with common defensive staples like Buzzwole and Amoonguss walling it.
-Additionally, Jirachi's sets all face competition from other common Pokemon. Its Stealth Rock set competes with Rhyperior and Nihilego as entry hazard setter due to their better matchup against Defoggers like Salamence and Rotom-H. Meanwhile, its SubToxic set competes with Aegislash due to its better bulk and ability to stall out turns with Kings Shield. Mew gives it competition as a support Psychic-type due to its reliable recovery and extreme set versatility. Honestly, the only thing I would compare it to is SubToxic Aegislash. It has enough distinctive advantages in the other roles. Aegislash is more reliable at stalling turns because of King's Shield but Jirachi makes up for this with its Speed tier + ability.

You used Primarina a couple times but I don't consider Jirachi to be a very reliable answer to it. While you will be able to take Specs Moonblast you don't want to scout what it locks into. I'd just stick to examples like mence, nihi, hatt, togekiss etc.

Paragraph 1
-Iron Head is Jirachi's primary attack, being able to OHKO Pokemon like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D. It also can deal heavy damage to Pokemon like Hatterene. In conjunction with Serene Grace, Jirachi can possibly flinch through defensive Pokemon like Tangrowth and Primarina. Tangrowth isn't an example I would use here. Use something like Kommo-o instead.
-U-turn allows Jirachi to gain momentum off of switch-ins like Aegislash and Buzzwole as well as Pokemon it may not have coverage for like Celesteela or Salamence.
-Jirachi has a plethora of coverage options it can choose from in a slot, making it incredibly unpredictable. Fire Punch allows Jirachi to OHKO Scizor and deal damage to other Steel-types like opposing Jirachi and Aegislash.
-Ice Punch allows Jirachi to be able to KO Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern.
-Zen Headbutt lets Jirachi hit Pokemon like Amoonguss and Kommo-o super effectively.
-Healing Wish is a support move that can heal with one of Jirachi's teammates completely, giving them a second chance to sweep and break through an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat.
-Trick allows Jirachi to cripple Pokemon reliant on their item like Chansey as well as Pokemon who are crippled with a Choice Scarf like Galarian Slowbro, but this compromises Jirachi's ability to revenge kill Pokemon like Lycanroc-D and Heavy-Duty Boots Zarude
-When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Jirachi is able to perform as a potent revenge killer, outspeeding threats like Lycanroc-D, Azelf, and other Choice Scarf users like Krookodile. I would rather see set up sweepers it is faster than like Clangorous Soul Kommo-o over the Krook mention

Paragraph 2
-Choice Scarf Jirachi fits on both balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it acting as a revenge killer to threats like Mienshao as well as defensively check Pokemon like Nihilego.
-Wallbreakers like Primarina and Chandelure can be brought in via U-turn on its answers like Moltres and Tangrowth to wallbreak easily. They can also be patched up from Healing Wish support from Jirachi, allowing them to wallbreak again if they get too low health.
-Pokemon like Rotom-H can form a solid VoltTurn core with Jirachi, being able to bring each other in on their answers. Rotom-H helps check Celesteela, Aegislash, and Amoonguss while Jirachi can revenge kill threats like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D for it. Rotom-H can also provide Defog support to remove Spikes from the field that would otherwise wear Jirachi down. Rocks would likewise wear it down so just say hazards
-Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Nihilego and Krookodile help Jirachi wear down Pokemon like Mew and Hatterene easier. Nihilego can also check threats like Moltres and Thundurus, while Krookodile acts as a Ghost resist and can revenge kill Pokemon like Aegislash.
-Zarude can check Water-types like Keldeo Zarude doesn't check Keldeo and you're def not running double Scarf just to do so and Rotom-W as well as Pokemon like Mew and Aegislash for Jirachi. It can also act as a Knock Off absorber for Jirachi. Amoonguss can also act as a Knock Off absorber and check Pokemon like Choice Scarf Zarude for Jirachi.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-U-turn allows Jirachi to generate momentum off of switch ins like Rotom-H and Moltres who can Defog away its Stealth Rock, bringing in other Pokemon like Nihilego who force them out.
-Stealth Rock can allows Jirachi to support its team with entry hazard support, and it can easily get them up against Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego and Mamoswine.
-Wish can be used to keep Jirachi's teammates healthy, and pairs well with U-turn bringing them in safely against an enemy Pokemon. Move this to come after the slash move mentions
-Healing Wish is a support move that can heal with one of Jirachi's teammates completely, giving them a second chance to sweep and break through an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat.
-Body Slam and Thunder Wave can both be used to paralyze normal switch-ins to Jirachi like Moltres and Keldeo, crippling them for the entirely of the game. Given Body Slam is not slashed split them into separate sentences and just say what the upside/s of Body Slam is/are
-192 Speed EVs with a Jolly Nature lets Jirachi outspeed Jolly Krookodile, with the rest put in SpDef to better answer threats like Primarina and Salamence. It's not that reliable at pivoting into Primarina, change it to Nihilego

Add a Fire Punch mention

Paragraph 2
-This set works best on Bulky offense and Balance teams that appreciate Jirachi's supportive capabilities.
-Salamence is an excellent partner for Jirachi, being able to pressure Pokemon like Moltres, Scizor, and Volcanion for it. It can take Water- and Fire-type attacks for Jirachi, while Jirachi helps help take on Fairy- and Rock-types like Hatterene, Diancie, and Nihilego that force out Salamence.
-Amoonguss can act as a Knock Off absorber for Jirachi and help check threats like Choice Scarf Krookodile and Keldeo for it in return.
-Wallbreakers like Primarina and Thundurus-T appreciate U-turn support from Jirachi to get them in against Pokemon like Moltres and Celesteela. They also appreciate Jirachi providing entry hazard support to soften up checks to them like Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro and Tangrowth.
-Jirachi can form a VoltTurn core with Pokemon like Rotom-H and Rotom-W, as they can help answer Jirachi's weakness to Fire-types like Moltres and deal with threats to it like Scizor. They can also provide Defog support to prevent Jirachi from being worn down by Spikes, and they appreciate Jirachi being able to provide Wish support to them, allowing them to drop Pain Split for both Defog and a status move.

Add -

  • Late game sweepers that value the Healing Wish support
  • Partners that appreciate Pokemon like Keldeo and Salamence being crippled by Twave.

[SET]
name: SubToxic
move 1: Iron head
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-With a combination of Substitute and Toxic, Jirachi can wear down common defensive Pokemon like Rhyperior and Primarina through Toxic damage and flinching them down with Serene Grace Iron Head. Not many people are going to go hard Rhyperior into Jirachi. Even the Prima mention is shoddy as Resttalk is the main one that would attempt to do so. Just use some examples like Moltres and Rotom-H. Jirachi can get a Substitute up against common Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego, allowing it to take hits to spread status or wear down the enemy team. I want you to reword this. The way you're meant to play this set is to put a majority of its answers, on the switchin, on a timer first. You can keep a small comment that you can set Substitute first to ease prediction. Once they are on a timer you can set up a Substitute the next time Jirachi gets a free turn to attempt to beat them through flinching with Iron Head. You haven't really explained this process well.
-Fire Punch allows Jirachi to damage opposing Steel-types such as Scizor and Aegislash, notably OHKOing the former
-Leftovers gives Jirachi a form of passive recovery that allows it regain health while flinching enemy Pokemon down, allowing it to set up Substitute again.
-Maximum speed and HP investment allows Jirachi to utilize as many substitutes as possible while also outspeeding Pokemon like Moltres and Rotom-W.

Paragraph 2
-SubToxic Jirachi fits best on balance teams works fine on bulky offense too that appreciate it wearing down defensive Pokemon like Primarina Rotom-W and Assault Vest Tangrowth with a combination of Toxic and Iron Head.
-Since this set struggles to bypass Ghost-types like Aegislash and Chandelure, a great partner for Jirachi is Incineroar, who can switch into their attacks and threaten them out with its STAB combination. Incineroar can also bring in Jirachi on Pokemon it can Toxic like Kommo-o with Parting Shot.
-Wallbreakers like Primarina, Thundurus-T, and Keldeo appreciate Jirachi putting answers to them like Assault Vest Tangrowth on a timer, allowing them to wallbreak easier.
-Pivots like Thundurus and Rotom-H are able to bring Jirachi in on Pokemon like Assault Vest Tangrowth and Rhyperior so it can cripple them with Toxic. This really doesn't make sense. You want to cripple them on the switchin. You aren't staying in against Rhyperior to Toxic it and get smacked by EQ. Tangrowth is the same, you don't want to take the Knock Off because then the effectiveness of this set is limited. Thundurus also can provide Knock Off support to remove items like Rocky Helmet from Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Buzzwole. What Buzzwole is staying in or switching into Thundurus to take that Knock Off Rotom-H can cook Pokemon Jirachi struggles to beat like Celesteela and Aegislash. This whole pivot point really isn't imperative to make this set work, remove it

Things to add -

  • Jungle Healing Zarude literally walls this set because Fire Punch doesn't do enough. It's also faster so you can't fish for those Iron Head flinches
  • I'd like to see a point about Celesteela, Aegislash, Amoong, and Tentacruel. While Jirachi can fish for the Fire Punch burn, it doesn't do too much damage vs them and they are immune to Toxic. It would simply waste health setting up Substitutes while they are around. Follow up with partners that remove them.
  • Faster Water-types like Keldeo and Starmie, and even slower ones like RestTalk Primarina are problematic to deal with. The former two resist its coverage though they can be crippled by Toxic. Worth noting that Natural Cure variants of Starmie don't care and completely wall this set. RestTalk Primarina has to break through Iron Head flinching but if it does it can simply PP stall Jirachi and cripple it with Scald.
  • Keep a mention of mons that can Knock Amoong and Buzzwole but make sure the examples make sense. Conkeldurr would cover both. Feel free to slot in any others if you want.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
-Jirachi can run Wish + Protect on stall teams to keep its team healthy as well as take on the combo of Future Sight + breaker. However, Jirachi faces competition on these teams from Umbreon, who matches better up against threats to stall like Gyarados and Dragon Dance Salamence.
-Jirachi can utilize a special attacking set with Meteor Beam to lure and remove common switch-ins like Moltres and Rotom-H. However, this set is done far better by Necrozma due to its better offenses.
-Jirachi can utilize a mixed set to hit on both sides of the offensive specturm, but it lacks in power compared to other offensive Psychic-types like Necrozma and Azelf.
-Jirachi can also run Calm Mind or Cosmic Power sets with Stored Power and a Weakness Policiy to accumulate many boosts and sweep. However, these sets struggle to bypass Aegislash and are very matchup reliant.

Mention Thunder Punch on Scarf for DD Gyara + hits other foes like Keldeo and Tentacruel.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rotom-H, Moltres, and Chandelure all take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can threaten it out with their powerful STAB attacks.

**Steel-types**: If not carrying the appropriate coverage, Steel-types are a pain for Jirachi to deal with. Scizor handles sets without Fire Punch and threatens it with Knock Off. Celesteela takes very little from Jirachi's attacks and can wear it down with Leech Seed + Flamethrower. Aegislash walls Jirachi and can use it as set up fodder or force it out thanks to its secondary Ghost STAB.

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W and Seismitoad take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can cripple it with Will-O-Wisp or Knock Off respectively. Volcanion quad resists Jirachi's Iron Head thanks to its typing and can force it out. However, none of these like being Toxiced poisoned by Jirachi's SubToxic sub toxic set. Keldeo can outspeed non Choice Scarf variants and deal heavy damage with Hydro Pump.

Add Dark-types

Add residual damage. hazards and rocky helmet. This lets you fit in mentions of Amoonguss and Buzzwole easily.

You missed a lot about how SubToxic Jirachi works and what it prefers to have as partners. You can mark it as 1/3 when implemented but I will be checking to make sure that set's done right. The rest is straightforward.

It is also very reliant on Leftovers, meaning that if Jirachi gets hit with Knock Off it can easily get overloaded checking Pokemon like Salamence and Hatterene. Jirachi also struggles against tier staples like Rotom-H and Aegislash. (You can easily combine the two sentences here by stating something like "Jirachi's reliance on Leftovers for recovery makes it susceptible to Knock Off from Nihilego and Tangrowth". I also didn't like the Mew example cause Jirachi shouldn't switch in fear of Will-O-Wisp, so I added Nihilego instead)
-Jirachi also has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against Pokemon it does not have adequate coverage for, with common defensive staples like Buzzwole and Amoonguss walling it.
-Additionally, Jirachi faces competition from Aegislash as a defensive Steel-type due to Aegislash having better defensive stats while being better at stalling teams out with King Shield on its SubToxic set. However, Jirachi's speed tier, utility in Healing Wish, and ability give it some benefits to using over Aegislash.

Rotom-H can also provide Defog support to remove entry hazards from the field that would otherwise wear Jirachi down.
-Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Nihilego and Krookodile help Jirachi wear down Pokemon like Mew and Hatterene easier. Nihilego can also check threats like Moltres and Thundurus, while Krookodile acts as a Ghost-type resist and can revenge kill Pokemon like Aegislash.
-Assault Vest Tangrowth can check Water-types like Keldeo and Rotom-W as well as Pokemon like Mew and Aegislash for Jirachi. Zarude can also threaten Pokemon like Mew, Aegislash, and Rotom-W for Jirachi while also acting as both a Knock Off absorber and status absorber for it. Amoonguss can also act as a Knock Off absorber and check Pokemon like Choice Scarf Zarude for Jirachi.
- try to mention teammates that appreciate the healing wish support, Lycanroc-D is a good example it also kills mons Rachi struggles to revenge kill Thundurus, Gyarados, and Gmolt.

move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Healing Wish / Thunder Wave

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-U-turn allows Jirachi to generate momentum off of switch ins like Rotom-H and Moltres who can Defog away its Stealth Rock, bringing in other Pokemon like Nihilego who force them out.
-Stealth Rock can allows Jirachi to support its team with entry hazard support, and it can easily get them up against Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego and Mamoswine.
-Healing Wish is a support move that can heal with one of Jirachi's teammates completely, giving them a second chance to sweep and break through an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat.
-Thunder Wave can be used to paralyze normal switch-ins to Jirachi like Moltres and Keldeo. Alternatively, Body Slam can also be utilized to paralyze the aforementioned threats thanks to Serene Grace boosting the chance to paralyze, but Thunder Wave is preferred due to its better consistency. Jirachi also risks getting burned by Flame Body on Moltres if it attacks it on the switch in.
-Wish can be used to keep Jirachi's teammates healthy, and pairs well with U-turn bringing them in safely against an enemy Pokemon.
-Fire Punch can be run to 2HKO OHKO (Fire Punch doesn't even have good odds to KO offensive Scizor after Stealth Rock without investment) Scizor and damage threats like Aegislash, but Jirachi struggles to fit it over more useful utility options like Thunder Wave and Healing Wish.
0 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Scizor: 220-260 (78.2 - 92.5%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
0 Atk Jirachi Fire Punch vs. 120 HP / 0 Def Scizor: 220-260 (70.7 - 83.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

-192 Speed EVs with a Jolly Nature lets Jirachi outspeed Krookodile, with the rest put in special defense to better answer threats like Nihilego and Salamence.

Paragraph 2
-This set works best on bulky Bulky offense and balance Balance teams that appreciate Jirachi's supportive capabilities.
-Salamence is an excellent partner for Jirachi, being able to pressure Pokemon like Moltres, Scizor, and Volcanion for it. It can take Water- and Fire-type attacks for Jirachi, while (I don't really like this sort of phrasing because our water-types include Prima, Azu and Rotom, none of which mence switches safely on. Same goes for our Fire-types, cause mence isn't a great Rotom-H, Molt, or even Chandelure switch-in.) In return, Jirachi helps help take on Fairy- and Rock-types like Hatterene, Diancie, and Nihilego that force out Salamence.
-Amoonguss can act as a Knock Off absorber for Jirachi and help check threats like Choice Scarf Krookodile and Keldeo for it in return.
-Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Primarina and Thundurus-T appreciate U-turn support from Jirachi to get them in against Pokemon like Moltres and Celesteela.
They can also provide Defog support to prevent Jirachi from being worn down by Spikes.
-Pokemon like Kommo-o and Nidoqueen appreciate Jirachi being able to cripple revenge killers like Keldeo and Salamence with Thunder Wave. In return, these Pokemon can break through threats like Tangrowth, Aegislash, and Volcanion for Jirachi. (You could mention that rachi as a stealth rocker frees up their options a bit, but up to you if and what you want to add in for them)
-Late game sweepers like Meteor Beam Nihilego and Dragon Dance Salamence appreciate Jirachi providing support with Healing Wish to them, and in return can break through Pokemon like Moltres, Volcanion, and Tangrowth for it.

[SET]
name: SubToxic
move 1: Iron head
move 2: Fire Punch
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Substitute
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-Toxic allows Jirachi to cripple defensive switch-ins like Buzzwole, Moltres, and Rotom-H, preventing them from checking Jirachi long term. Substitute eases prediction for Jirachi by being able to take hits, allowing Jirachi to wear down the Pokemon it cripples by flinching them with Serene Grace Iron Head. Jirachi can get a Substitute up against common Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego, allowing it to take hits to spread status.
-Fire Punch allows Jirachi to damage opposing Steel-types such as Scizor and Aegislash, notably OHKOing the former.

Paragraph 2
-SubToxic Jirachi fits best on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it wearing down defensive Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth with a combination of Toxic and Iron Head.
-Wallbreakers like Primarina, (You've used Primarina as a wallbreaker a couple times already, you should find a different example or take it out) Thundurus-T, and Keldeo appreciate Jirachi putting answers to them like Assault Vest Tangrowth on a timer, allowing them to wallbreak easier.
-Jungle Healing Zarude walls this set due to it being able to heal off Toxic and outspeed Jirachi to avoid Iron Head Flinches, so Pokemon like Moltres and Amoonguss help Jirachi by checking it. Moltres also has the added benefit of being able to remove Pokemon like Aegislash and Celesteela that Jirachi struggles to break.
-Jirachi is also unable to break through Poison-types like Tentacruel and Amoonguss due to their Toxic immunity and solid defense, so Pokemon like Thundurus and Necrozma are great partners that can remove them for Jirachi.
-Faster Water-types like Keldeo and Starmie resist Jirachi's coverage, with Natural Cure variants of the latter walling this set, so revenge killers like Choice Scarf Zarude and Raikou can help remove them for Jirachi. They also assist in being able to deal with RestTalk Primarina, another Pokemon that Jirachi struggles to break.
-Jirachi is susceptible to Rocky Helmet damage from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Buzzwole, so partners like Conkeldurr and Krookodile can lure them in to remove their item with Knock Off.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
-Thunder Punch can be run on Jirachi's Choice Scarf threat to revenge kill a +1 Gyarados while still retaining coverage for foes like Keldeo and Tentacruel. (you should mention what this make's rachi worse against, giving up coverage for Thundurus-I and Salamence are some things to note)
(reword this by stating what in particular this helps with like hitting Buzzwole and Kommo-o with psychic while still smacking Hatt with Iron Head. Also avoid "spectrum" in the future, its against spelling and grammar standards)
-Jirachi can also run Calm Mind or Cosmic Power sets with Stored Power and a Weakness Policy to accumulate many boosts and sweep. However, these sets struggle to bypass Aegislash and can be ineffective without many boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rotom-H, Moltres, and Chandelure all take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can threaten it out with their powerful STAB attacks. (ik you stated this already, but it should really be emphasized how much Flame Body from molt can be debilitating for rachi. I would also mention none of them like rachi potentially tricking away their heavy-duty boots, especially molt)

(Mention Cobalion cause it can keep rocks in front of rachi and has great bulk for taking iron heads better, though it doesn't like Thunder Wave)

However, none of these like being poisoned by Jirachi's SubToxic set. Keldeo can outspeed non Choice Scarf variants and deal heavy damage with Hydro Pump.

**Dark-types and Dark-type Coverage**: Dark-types like Zarude, Krookodile, and Galarian Moltres can all threaten Jirachi and force it out with their STAB attacks. Zarude with Jungle Healing walls Jirachi's SubToxic set, while Choice Krookodile can revenge kill non Choice Scarf Jirachi. RestTalk Galarian Moltres can use Jirachi as setup fodder. Furthermore, Pokemon carrying Knock Off like Tangrowth, Thundurus, and Mew can all hinder Jirachi by removing its Leftovers. (tbh Knock Off should get its own point, rachi is really reliant on its item in general to be effective long term)

**Residual Damage**: Due to Jirachi lacking reliable recovery, it is prone to getting worn down by entry hazards as well as damage from attacking Rocky Helmet users like Cobalion, Buzzwole, and Amoonguss,.

-Status should be a point and a high one since Rachi absolutely hates being burned or paralyzed

[OVERVIEW]

-Jirachi's above average bulk and great defensive typing, letting it check threats such as Nihilego, choice-locked Primarina Togekiss is probably a better example here, and Hatterene, alongside a wide movepool This sentence is too congested so remove the part I've put a line through makes it a potent force in UU.
- There absolutely needs to be a line on Serene Grace here.
-Jirachi can fulfill a wide variety of roles on teams thanks to the numerous viable sets it can run its wide move pool (here is a much more appropriate spot to note this quality). It can act as a potent revenge killer with Choice Scarf, outspeeding and eliminating threats like Lycanroc-D and Heavy-Duty Boots Zarude Nihilego. It can also provide a utility role on teams, acting as an entry hazard setter while providing its team with speed control in Thunder Wave. Furthermore, its access to Healing Wish allows Jirachi to give teammates like Nihilego, Gyarados, or Kommo-o a second chance to sweep through teams by healing them completely. This part of the analysis is too wordy. Replace what I'm having you remove here with something along the lines of "providing its team with additional utility in Healing Wish or Thunder Wave." Jirachi is also able to utilize a SubToxic set to wear down switch ins like Rotom-W between Toxic damage and flinching them with Iron Head, preventing them with attacking.
-Jirachi's reliance on Leftovers for recovery makes it susceptible to Knock Off from Nihilego and Tangrowth, causing it to get overloaded checking Pokemon like Salamence and Hatterene if it loses its Leftovers. Jirachi also struggles against tier staples like Rotom-H Heat has fallen off a bit, so I'd use Moltres as an example here instead and Aegislash.
-Jirachi also has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against Pokemon it does not have adequate coverage for, with common defensive staples like Buzzwole and Amoonguss walling it.
-Additionally, Jirachi faces competition from Aegislash as a defensive Steel-type due to Aegislash having better defensive stats while being better at stalling teams out making progress with King Shield on its SubToxic set. However, Jirachi's speed tier, utility in Healing Wish, and ability give it some benefits to using over Aegislash. Unnecessary bit of info here.

Paragraph 1
-Iron Head is Jirachi's primary attack, being able to OHKO Pokemon like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D while also dealing heavy damage to Pokemon like Hatterene. In conjunction with Serene Grace, Jirachi can possibly flinch through defensive these Pokemon aren't always defensive Pokemon like Kommo-o and Primarina.
-U-turn allows Jirachi to gain momentum off of switch-ins like Aegislash and Buzzwole as well as Pokemon it may not have coverage for like Celesteela or Salamence.
-Fire Punch allows Jirachi to OHKO Scizor after Stealth Rock and deal solid damage to other Steel-types like opposing Jirachi and Aegislash.
-Ice Punch allows Jirachi to be able to OHKO Dragon-types like Salamence and Noivern.
-Zen Headbutt lets Jirachi hit Pokemon like Amoonguss, Keldeo, and Kommo-o super effectively. Note the drawback here in that it usually leaves Jirachi's open to potent sweepers like Scizor or Salamence.
-Healing Wish is a support move that can heal one of Jirachi's teammates completely, giving them a second chance to sweep and break through an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat. This sentence tells me what Healing Wish does as a move instead of how specifically Jirachi can use it. Instead of what you have written, state that Jirachi can use Healing Wish in the late-game to fully heal a teammate.

-Trick allows Jirachi to cripple Pokemon reliant on their item like Chansey as well as Pokemon who are crippled with a Choice Scarf like Galarian Slowbro the phrasing here is very confusing. Just say that it can cripple defensive switch-ins and use your same examples, but this compromises Jirachi's ability to revenge kill Pokemon like Lycanroc-D and Zarude
-When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Jirachi is able to perform as a potent revenge killer, outspeeding threats like Lycanroc-D, Azelf, and setup sweepers like Clangrous Soul Kommo-o at +1. fluff

Paragraph 2
-Choice Scarf Jirachi fits on both balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it acting as a revenge killer to threats like Mienshao as well as defensively check Pokemon like Nihilego.
-Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Primarina and Chandelure can be brought in via U-turn on its answers like Moltres and Tangrowth to wallbreak easily.
-Teammates like Lycanroc-D appreciate Healing Wish support from Jirachi due to it getting worn down easily. Lycanroc-D can deal with threats Jirachi struggles to beat like Moltres, Thundurus, and Gyarados. I don't really see why this is a particularly necessary standalone line. I'd either remove this or find a way to phase Lycanroc in as an example in the same line that brings up Primarina and Chandelure. If you do that, though, try not to make the sentence too congested.

Paragraph 1
-U-turn allows Jirachi to generate momentum off of switch ins like Rotom-H and Moltres who can Defog away its Stealth Rock, bringing in other Pokemon like Nihilego who force them out. These pieces of information are fluff and don't ultimately concern the line's task at hand, which is simply just to state U-turn's purpose.
This is the exact same phrasing as the last Healing Wish mention for one thing, but also you need to rephrase this for the same reasons as the last set.
This needs to be rephrased as Body Slam is now the slash and Thunder Wave isn't. State that Body Slam is a decent method of spreading status for Jirachi, and when bringing up Thunder Wave, note that it can't cripple switch-ins like Krookodile, Nidoqueen, or Seismitoad.
-Wish can be used to keep Jirachi's teammates healthy, and pairs well with U-turn bringing them in safely against an enemy Pokemon.
-Fire Punch can be run to 2HKO Scizor and damage threats like Aegislash, but Jirachi struggles to fit it over more useful utility options like Thunder Wave and Healing Wish. This is too hard to fit most of the time and should be cut from this section.
-192 Speed EVs with a Jolly Nature lets Jirachi outspeed Krookodile, with the rest put in special defense to better answer threats like Nihilego and Salamence.

I think you should instead say that it allows Jirachi to rack up poison damage against foes Jirachi can get a Substitute up against common Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego, allowing it to take hits to spread status.

-Jirachi can run Wish + Protect on stall teams to keep its team healthy as well as take on the combo of Future Sight + breaker I'd either find a less awkward way to phrase this or just remove it. [OVERVIEW]

Jirachi's above average bulk and great defensive typing, letting it check threats such as Nihilego, Togekiss, and Hatterene, makes it a potent force in UU is it the bulk and defensive typing that makes it a potent force in UU though? if anything its more set versatility + serene grace shenanigans, and the huge utility most of its sets can bring. Its ability Serene Grace doubles the secondary effects of its moves, allowing it to have a high chance to flinch slower opponents like Kommo-o with Iron Head or cripple switch-ins like Moltres with Body Slam paralysis. Jirachi can fulfill a wide variety of roles on teams thanks its wide movepool. It can act as a potent revenge killer with Choice Scarf, outspeeding and eliminating threats like Lycanroc-D and Nihilego. It can also provide a utility role on teams, acting as an entry hazard setter while providing its team with additional utility in Healing Wish or Thunder Wave. This reads a bit off to me, because a huge part of Scarf Jirachi as a scarer in a way is the fact it provides this big utility through Heailng Wish at same time, but the way this is written suggests that this is mutually exclusive to different sets. Jirachi is able to utilize a SubToxic set to wear down switch ins like Rotom-W between Toxic damage and flinching them with Iron Head, preventing them with attacking. However, Jirachi's reliance on Leftovers for recovery makes it susceptible to Knock Off from Nihilego and Tangrowth, causing it to get overloaded checking Pokemon like Salamence and Hatterene if it loses its Leftovers. Aknock is kinda important in general w.r.t nihi vs jirachi not just for lefties sets, like scarf doesnt usually want to directly switch in either. Jirachi also struggles against tier staples like Moltres and Aegislash. Jirachi has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against Pokemon it does not have adequate coverage for, with common defensive staples like Buzzwole and Amoonguss walling it. When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Jirachi is able to perform as a potent revenge killer, outspeeding threats like Lycanroc-D, Azelf, and setup sweepers like Clangrous Soul Kommo-o at +1.

Choice Scarf Jirachi fits on both balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it revenge killing threats like Lycanroc-D as well as defensively checking Pokemon like Nihilego. Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Primarina, Chandelure, entei instead maybe? bit more relevant of a fire type lately. and Lycanroc-D can be brought in via U-turn on its answers like Moltres and Tangrowth to wallbreak easily. Lycanroc-D in particular can also deal with threats Jirachi struggles to beat like Thundurus and Galarian Moltres. They all also can be patched up from Healing Wish support from Jirachi, allowing them to wallbreak again if they get too low health. Pokemon like Rotom-H can form a solid VoltTurn core with Jirachi, being able to bring each other in on their answers. Rotom-H helps check Celesteela, Aegislash, and Amoonguss while Jirachi can revenge kill threats like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D for it. Rotom-H can also provide Defog support to remove entry hazards from the field that would otherwise wear Jirachi down. Entry hazard support from Pokemon like Nihilego and Krookodile help Jirachi wear down Pokemon like Primarina and Hatterene easier. Nihilego can also check threats like Moltres and Thundurus, while Krookodile acts as a Ghost-type resist and can revenge kill Pokemon like Aegislash. Assault Vest Tangrowth can check Water-types like Keldeo and Rotom-W for Jirachi. Zarude can also threaten Pokemon like Aegislash and Rotom-W for Jirachi while also acting as both a Knock Off absorber and status absorber for it. Amoonguss can also act as a Knock Off absorber and check Pokemon like Choice Scarf Zarude for Jirachi. Noticeably would put mention that Zarude can check SubTox aegi here imo, every single mention you've brought up previously eg. rotom-h/krook will just lose to that too if jirachi ever gives it free subs (which it will do if it ever wants to clik iehad). Worth commenting on this matchup specifically too somewhere in the prose (maybe in the first paragraph, or even the overview when you talk about the aegi weakness?)

move 3: Stealth Rock
move 4: Healing Wish / Body Slam

ability: Serene Grace

[SET COMMENTS]

U-turn allows Jirachi to generate momentum off of switch-ins like Rotom-H and Moltres aegi should defo be a mention too . Stealth Rock lets Jirachi support its team with entry hazards, and it can easily get them up against Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego and Mamoswine. Jirachi can utilize Healing Wish as a last ditch move in the late-game to fully heal a teammate, giving them a second chance to sweep an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat. Body Slam acts as a decent method of spreading status on switch-ins to Jirachi like Moltres, Krookodile, this is definitely not a jirachi switch in lol and Seismitoad, crippling them throughout the game. Thunder Wave can be used to cripple Moltres without risking a Flame Body burn as well as have better consistency for threats like Keldeo, but Jirachi will be unable to cripple Ground-types like Krookodile and Nidoking, making Body Slam preferred. Thunder is another option that Jirachi can utilize to spread paralysis while also nailing Pelipper and Keldeo, but its shaky accuracy makes it harder to justify compared to Body Slam or Thunder Wave on teams without rain. Psychic can be used to 2HKO Keldeo, Amoonguss, Buzzwole, and Nidoking. 192 Speed EVs with a Jolly Nature lets Jirachi outspeed Krookodile, with the rest put in special defense to better answer threats like Nihilego and Salamence.

This set works best on bulky offense and balance teams i don't see a reality that you ever run this set on balance personally as a balance player. if anything you are much more likely to just run wish rachi / scarf and a diff balance rocker like nihi 99% o the time. definitely shines more on more offensive builds that appreciate deffensive utility + rocks + u-turn + hw imo. that appreciate Jirachi's supportive capabilities. Salamence is an excellent partner for Jirachi, being able to pressure Pokemon like Moltres, Buzzwole, and Tangrowth for it. In return, Jirachi helps take on Fairy- and Rock-types like Hatterene, Togekiss, and Nihilego that force out Salamence. Amoonguss can act as a Knock Off absorber for Jirachi and help check threats like Choice Scarf Krookodile and Keldeo for it in return. Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Primarina and Thundurus-T appreciate U-turn support from Jirachi to get them in against Pokemon like Moltres and Celesteela. They also appreciate Jirachi providing entry hazard support to soften up checks to them like Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro and Tangrowth. Jirachi can form a VoltTurn core with Pokemon like Rotom-H and Rotom-W, as they can help answer Jirachi's weakness to Fire-types like Moltres and deal with threats to it like Celesteela. They can also provide Defog support to prevent Jirachi from being worn down by Spikes. Pokemon like Kommo-o and Nidoking appreciate Jirachi being able to cripple revenge killers like Keldeo and Salamence with Thunder Wave. In return, these Pokemon can break through threats like Tangrowth and Aegislash for Jirachi. Late-game sweepers like Meteor Beam Nihilego and Dragon Dance Salamence appreciate Jirachi providing support with Healing Wish to them, and in return can break through Pokemon like Moltres and Tangrowth for it.

[SET]
name: SubToxic
move 1: Iron head
move 2: Toxic
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Fire Punch
item: Leftovers
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Toxic allows Jirachi to cripple defensive switch-ins like Buzzwole, Moltres, and Rotom-H, preventing them from checking Jirachi in the long term. Substitute lets Jirachi to take additional hits, allowing it to rack up Toxic damage against its foes. Jirachi can get a Substitute up against common Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego, which also allows it to spread status easier. Fire Punch lets Jirachi to damage opposing Steel-types such as Celesteela and Aegislash, potentially crippling them with a burn. The burn damage is also pretty important versus Amoonguss since it's stopping Foul play breaking substitutes + provides extra damage to lower the amount of rocky helmet procs you have to take. Leftovers gives Jirachi a form of passive recovery that allows it regain health while flinching enemy Pokemon down, allowing it to set up Substitute again. Maximum speed and HP investment allows Jirachi to utilize as many substitutes as possible while also outspeeding Pokemon like Moltres, Kommo-o, and Rotom-W. worth mentioning a thing or two that the bulkier subs are useful for -> eg. that your sub will live a volt switch from rotom-w.

SubToxic Jirachi fits best on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it wearing down defensive Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth with a combination of Toxic and Iron Head. Wallbreakers like Thundurus-T and Keldeo appreciate Jirachi putting answers to them like Assault Vest Tangrowth and Gastrodon on a timer, allowing them to wallbreak easier. Jungle Healing Zarude walls this set due to it being able to heal off Toxic and outspeed Jirachi to avoid Iron Head Flinches, so Pokemon like Moltres and Amoonguss help Jirachi by checking it. Moltres also has the added benefit of being able to remove Pokemon like Aegislash and Celesteela that wall Jirachi. Jirachi is also unable to break through Poison-types like Tentacruel and Amoonguss due to their Toxic immunity and solid defense, so Pokemon like Thundurus and Necrozma are great partners that can remove them for Jirachi. Faster Water-types like Keldeo and Starmie resist Jirachi's coverage, with Natural Cure variants of the latter walling this set, so revenge killers like Choice Scarf Zarude and Raikou can help remove them for Jirachi. They also assist in being able to deal with RestTalk Primarina, another Pokemon that Jirachi struggles to break. Jirachi is susceptible to Rocky Helmet damage from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Buzzwole, so partners like Conkeldurr and Krookodile can lure them in to remove their item with Knock Off. I would highly consider using Shao as a mention over conk here and perhaps bringing this up earlier with the wallbreakers section, shao typically fits more comfortably on the more balancey builds cause of regen and its high speed, as well as creating opportunities for jirachi with u-turn too on top of knocking amoong. This is also such an important point in general that mentiioning it earlier is p important to doing it justice imo.

this one's team options takes a very offensive-centric viewpoint to a Pokemon that tends to fit better on bulkier balance teams imo. Some points that absolutely need addressing for this Pokemon imo for the move balancey side are:

-> cleric support: umbreon provides wish support to allow you to more freely spam subs and actually spend time attacking Pokemon like helmet amoong without killing yourself in the process. umbreon in return checks shit like aegi for u. Also bring up zarude imo for the more offensive acing team as an aegi / krook etc check.
-> heal bell support: its less necessary but gives jirachi more freedom in terms of attacking moltres, switching into pokemon like rotom-w etc. togekiss is a particularly nice mention you could choose to bring up, it also has useful utility as a check to noivern and the ability to pressure Pokemon like umbreon that jirachi rly struggles into.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Jirachi can utilize a special attacking set with Meteor Beam to lure and remove common switch-ins like Moltres and Rotom-H. However, this set is done far better by Necrozma due to its better offenses. Jirachi can utilize a mixed set to hit both physically and specially defensive Pokemon, being able to KO Buzzwole and Kommo-o with Psychic while nailing Pokemon like Hatterene with Iron Head, but it lacks in power compared to other offensive Psychic-types like Necrozma and Azelf. Jirachi can also run Calm Mind or Cosmic Power sets with Stored Power and a Weakness Policy to accumulate many boosts and sweep. However, these sets struggle to bypass Aegislash and can be ineffective without many boosts. Put the subtox set as first mention on OO now we deleted it imo, mention how it does need quite a bit of team support w.r.t knocking helmets, wish + heal bell support etc.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rotom-H, Moltres, and Chandelure all take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can threaten it out with their powerful STAB attacks. Jirachi especially dislikes a burn from Moltres' Flame Body. None of them like Jirachi using Trick to remove their Heavy-Duty Boots.

**Steel-types**: Celesteela takes very little from Jirachi's attacks and can wear it down with Leech Seed + Flamethrower. Aegislash walls Jirachi and can use it as set up fodder or force it out thanks to its secondary Ghost STAB. Cobalion can set Stealth Rock in front of Jirachi and can chip it with Rocky Helmet recoil, though it dislikes a Thunder Wave.

Zarude with Jungle Healing walls Jirachi's SubToxic set, nuke that bit and just talk about it being faster than rocks now or something while Choice Krookodile can revenge kill non Choice Scarf Jirachi. RestTalk Galarian Moltres can use Jirachi as setup fodder. Furthermore, Pokemon carrying Knock Off like Tangrowth and Thundurus can hinder Jirachi by removing its Leftovers. Definitely put an umbreon mention in here as something that doesn't care in the slightest about iron head + serene grace and can wish pass against it due to jirachi's limited offensive output.

**Residual Damage and Status**: Due to Jirachi lacking reliable recovery, it is prone to getting worn down by entry hazards as well as damage from attacking Rocky Helmet users like Cobalion, Buzzwole, and Amoonguss. Jirachi also hates getting burned and paralyzed from Pokemon like Moltres, Rotom-W, and Chansey, for it gets worn down easily and becomes unable to U-turn on Krookodile.

[OVERVIEW]

Jirachi's set versatility thanks to its wide movepool, great utility options like Healing Wish, and amazing ability makes it a potent force in UU. Its ability Serene Grace doubles the secondary effects of its moves, allowing it to have a high chance to flinch slower opponents like Kommo-o with Iron Head or cripple switch-ins like Moltres with Body Slam paralysis. I think I would only focus on how Iron Head + Serene Grace can make it difficult for offensive teams to deal with especially when equipped with a Choice Scarf. Also, Body Slam isn't slashed on any of the sets. Additionally, Jirachi's above-average bulk and great defensive typing allows it to check threats like Nihilego, Togekiss, and Hatterene. Jirachi can fulfill a wide variety of roles on teams with its set versatility; it can act as a potent revenge killer to threats like Lycanroc-D with a Choice Scarf, provide its team great utility with entry hazards and Healing Wish, or act as a cleric capable of healing its team with Wish. However, Jirachi's reliance on Leftovers for recovery makes it susceptible to Knock Off from Nihilego and Tangrowth, causing it to get overloaded checking Pokemon like Salamence and Hatterene if it loses its Leftovers. Jirachi has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against Pokemon it does not have adequate coverage for, with common defensive staples like Aegislash, Excadrill, and Amoonguss walling it regardless.

[SET COMMENTS]

When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Jirachi is a potent revenge killer, outspeeding threats like Lycanroc-D, Azelf, and setup sweepers like Dragon Dance Gyarados at +1. Iron Head is Jirachi's primary attack, being able to OHKO Pokemon like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D. In conjunction with Serene Grace, Jirachi can possibly flinch through Pokemon like Kommo-o and Primarina. U-turn allows Jirachi to gain momentum off of switch-ins like Aegislash and Excadrill as well as Pokemon it may not have coverage for like Gyarados, Hydreigon, or Salamence. Trick lets Jirachi cripple defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Slowking, but this compromises Jirachi's ability to revenge kill Pokemon like Hydreigon Well this only applies to Scarf Hydra, it will be faster than any of its other sets and Zarude and should only be used when it no longer needs its Choice Scarf. Ice Punch is an option to nail Thundurus-T and Salamence, while Thunder Punch is an alternative to revenge kill +1 Gyarados and hit Azumarill super effectively. Zen Headbutt lets Jirachi slam Amoonguss, Conkeldurr, and Kommo-o. However, these moves leave Jirachi open to threats like Aegislash and Excadrill. Jirachi can utilize Healing Wish as a last ditch move in the late-game to fully heal a teammate, giving them a second chance to sweep an enemy team or defensively answer an offensive threat.

Choice Scarf Jirachi fits on both balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate it revenge killing threats like Lycanroc-D as well as the utility it provides with Healing Wish. Since Jirachi struggles to beat Aegislash, Zarude makes an excellent partner for it, being able to completely blank SubToxic Aegislash as well as Slowking, threaten Excadrill, and absorb status and Knock Off for Jirachi. Amoonguss can also act as a Knock Off absorber and check Pokemon like Choice Scarf Mienshao for Jirachi. Wallbreakers like Lycanroc-D, Conkeldurr, and Hydreigon can be brought in via U-turn on checks like Moltres, Salamence, and Tangrowth to wallbreak easily. They all can be patched up from Healing Wish support from Jirachi, allowing them to wallbreak again if they get too low health. Moltres forms a solid VoltTurn core with Jirachi, being able to bring each other in on their answers. Moltres helps check Celesteela, Excadrill, and Amoonguss while Jirachi can revenge kill threats like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D for it. Both Moltres and Excadrill can provide entry hazard control to remove spikes that would otherwise wear Jirachi down. Entry hazard support from Nihilego and Krookodile help Jirachi wear down Pokemon like Primarina and Hatterene easier. Nihilego can also check Mandibuzz, while Krookodile can revenge kill Aegislash and Excadrill.

[SET COMMENTS]

Wish keeps Jirachi healthy throughout a match, allowing it to check threats like Salamence and Hatterene more reliably. Jirachi is able to distinguish itself as a Wish passer from Umbreon thanks to its access to U-turn, allowing it to pass wishes to teammates who lack reliable recovery like Swampert. U-turn also allows Jirachi to pivot out against threats like Aegislash and Mandibuzz. Protect ensures Jirachi will receive its Wish while also letting it gain more recovery with Leftovers. It also lets Jirachi scout Choice-locked threats like Mienshao and Keldeo. 240 Speed EVs lets Jirachi outspeed Hydreigon, with the remaining EVs put in special defense and HP to better check Pokemon like Salamence and Nihilego.

This set best fits on balance teams that appreciate Jirachi healing its team with Wish while bringing them in safely with U-turn. Wallbreakers that get worn down easily like Mamoswine and Conkeldurr are great teammates, as Jirachi can heal them up with Wish and bring them in with U-turn on targets like Celesteela and Aegislash. Rhyperior and Diancie make great teammates for Jirachi, being able to check threats like Galarian Moltres, Thundurus-T, and Rotom-H for it. They both enjoy Jirachi offsetting their unreliable recovery with Wish support in return. Both of them can also act as a secondary check to Salamence and Togekiss, with Diancie being able to provide cleric support should Jirachi get hindered with status. Amoonguss can check Zarude and act as a Knock Off absorber for Jirachi. Moltres also checks Zarude and can beat Steel-types like Aegislash and Skarmory that Jirachi lures in. Zarude and Mienshao can bring in Jirachi to safely use Wish against their checks like Togekiss and Hatterene. Zarude can remove Aegislash and Slowking for Jirachi, while Mienshao can cripple Amoonguss with Knock Off and offensively check threats like Umbreon and Chandelure. Rotom-W forms a great defensive core with Jirachi, being able to check threats like Moltres and Starmie. It also enjoys not having to solely rely on Pain Split as recovery, allowing it to run Defog or Will-O-Wisp instead. Tentacruel and Excadrill can clear entry hazards like Spikes that would wear down Jirachi, while Jirachi can offset their lack of recovery.

I'd give a mention to Thunder when you're talking about all these paralysis moves because it gives it a means to actually beat Skarmory, Moltres, Gyarados.

This set works best on bulky offense teams that appreciate Jirachi's supportive capabilities. Jirachi can run a SubToxic set to wear down switch-ins like Rotom-W and Tangrowth with a combination of Toxic chip and Iron Head flinches, but this set requires lots of team support with removing Rocky Helmets and dealing with threats like Tentacruel and Zarude that completely wall this set. Additionally, Jirachi faces lots competition from Aegislash due to it having better defensive stats while making progress with King Shield on its SubToxic set. Jirachi can utilize a special attacking set with Meteor Beam to lure and remove common switch-ins like Moltres and Rotom-H. However, this set struggles to choose coverage options to cover everything as it already has to use Stealth Rock and Meteor Beam. I don't think this set has to run rocks Jirachi can also use Calm Mind sets to act as a win-condiiton on hyper offense teams, but also struggles to choose its coverage. Jirachi can utilize a mixed set to hit both physically and specially defensive Pokemon, being able to KO Kommo-o with Psychic while nailing Hatterene with Iron Head, but it lacks in power compared to other offensive Psychic-types like Necrozma and Azelf. Jirachi can also run Stored Power sets with a Weakness Policy to accumulate many boosts and sweep, but these sets struggle to bypass Aegislash and can be ineffective without many boosts.

Both Cobalion and Skarmory can set entry hazards in front of Jirachi and can chip it with Rocky Helmet recoil, though they dislike Trick or Thunder Wave.

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Seismitoad, and Swampert take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can either cripple it or decently damage it. Volcanion quad resists Jirachi's Iron Head thanks to its typing and can force it out. Slowking only fears Trick from Jirachi and can cripple it with a burn.

**Dark-types and Dark-type Coverage**: Dark-types like Zarude, Krookodile, and Hydreigon can all offensively threaten Jirachi and force it out with their STAB attacks. Zarude and Choice Scarf sets of the latter two can revenge kill non Choice Scarf Jirachi, with Choice Scarf Zarude outspeeding Choice Scarf variants as well. Mandibuzz and Umbreon aren't bothered much by Iron Head and can wear it down with Foul Play. The latter can also use its immunity to flinches to pass wishes to its teammates. **Residual Damage and Status**: Due to Jirachi lacking reliable recovery, it is prone to getting worn down by entry hazards like Spikes as well as damage from attacking Rocky Helmet users like Skarmory, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss. Jirachi has only average offensive stats, making it very reliant on Iron Head flinches to make progress against does it cannot cover, foes not weak to Steel, (I imagine?) with common defensive staples like Aegislash, Excadrill, and Amoonguss walling it regardless.

In conjuntion with Serene Grace, Jirachi can can OHKO Pokemon like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D and, in conjunction with Serene Grace, possibly break through Pokemon like Hydreigon and Primarina with flinches. U-turn allows Jirachi to gain momentum off of switch-ins like Aegislash and Excadrill, (AC) as well as Pokemon it may not have coverage for like Gyarados or and Thundurus-T. Trick lets Jirachi cripple defensive Pokemon like Chansey and Slowking, but this compromises Jirachi's ability to revenge kill Pokemon like Azelf and Zarude and should only be used when it no longer needs its Choice Scarf. using it means Jirachi can't revenge kill Pokemon like Azelf and Zarude, so it should only be used when that is no longer needed. (I imagine this still makes sense?) Ice Punch is an option to nail Thundurus-T and Salamence, while Thunder Punch is an alternative to revenge kill more reliably revenge kills +1 Gyarados and hits Azumarill super effectively. Zen Headbutt lets Jirachi slam Amoonguss and Conkeldurr. Since Jirachi struggles to beat Aegislash, Zarude makes an excellent partner for it, being able to completely blank SubToxic completely blanking Substitute + Toxic Aegislash and Slowking, threatening Excadrill, and absorbing status and Knock Off for Jirachi. Amoonguss can also absorb Knock Off and can check faster threats like Choice Scarf Mienshao. Wallbreakers like Thundurus-T, Conkeldurr, and Hydreigon can be brought in via U-turn on checks like Moltres, Excadrill, and Tangrowth to wallbreak easily. They all can be patched up from Healing Wish support from Jirachi, allowing them to wallbreak again if they get too low health. benefit from Healing Wish too. Moltres forms a solid VoltTurn core with Jirachi, being able to bring each with each bringing the other in on their answers. Moltres also helps check Celesteela, Excadrill, and Amoonguss, (AC) while Jirachi can revenge kill threats like Nihilego and Lycanroc-D for it. It also lets Jirachi scout Choice-locked threats like Mienshao and Primarina. 240 Speed EVs lets Jirachi outspeed Hydreigon, with the remaining EVs put in special defense and HP to better Special Defense EVs helping it (I imagine?) check Pokemon like Salamence and Nihilego.

This set best fits on balance teams that teams, which appreciate Jirachi healing its team teammates with Wish while bringing them in safely with U-turn. Wallbreakers that get worn down easily like Mamoswine and Conkeldurr are great teammates, as Jirachi can heal them up with Wish and bring them in with U-turn greatly enjoy Wish, and U-turn can bring them in on targets like Celesteela and Aegislash. Rhyperior and Diancie make great teammates for Jirachi, being able to check checking threats like Galarian Moltres, Thundurus-T, and Rotom-H. They both enjoy Jirachi offsetting their unreliable lack of reliable (i assume rhyperior doesn't run rest. if both it and diancie do, ignore this) recovery with Wish support in return. Both of them can also act as a secondary check to Salamence and Togekiss, with Diancie being able to provide cleric support should Jirachi get hindered with status. supporting Jirachi with Heal Bell. Amoonguss can check Zarude and act as a Knock Off absorber absorb Knock Off for Jirachi. Moltres also checks Zarude and can beat Steel-types like Aegislash and Skarmory that Jirachi lures in. U-turn allows Jirachi to generate momentum off of switch-ins like Aegislash and Moltres. Stealth Rock lets Jirachi support its team with entry hazards, team, and it can easily get them Stealth Rock up against Pokemon it forces out like Nihilego and Mamoswine. Thunder Wave can be used to cripple Moltres without risking a Flame Body burn, (AC) as well as have having better consistency, but Jirachi will be unable to cripple Ground-types like Krookodile and Nidoking, making Body Slam preferred. Other Options
=============
Jirachi can run a SubToxic Substitute + Toxic set to wear down switch-ins like Rotom-W and Tangrowth with a combination of Toxic chip and Iron Head flinches, Tangrowth, with Iron Head flinches accelerating Toxic damage, but this set requires lots of team support, (AC) with including removing Rocky Helmets and dealing with threats like Tentacruel and Zarude that completely wall this set. it. Additionally, Jirachi faces lots heavy competition from SubToxic Aegislash due to it having better defensive stats while making progress with King Shield on its SubToxic set. Jirachi can utilize a special attacking attacker set with Meteor Beam to lure in and remove common switch-ins like Moltres and Rotom-H. However, this set struggles to choose coverage options to cover everything. Jirachi can also use Calm Mind sets to act as a wincon on hyper offense teams, but also struggles to choose its these also struggle to choose their coverage. Jirachi can utilize a mixed set to hit both physically and specially defensive Pokemon, being able to set, which can notably KO Kommo-o with Psychic while nailing Hatterene with Iron Head, but it lacks in power compared to other offensive Psychic-types like Azelf. Jirachi can also run Stored Power sets with Calm Mind and (I imagine? if not, pls specify) a Weakness Policy to accumulate many boosts and sweep, but these sets struggle to bypass get past Aegislash and can be ineffective without many boosts.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-types**: Fire-types such as Rotom-H, Moltres, and Chandelure all take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can threaten force it out with their powerful STAB attacks.

Aegislash walls Jirachi and can use it as set up setup fodder or force it out thanks to its secondary Ghost STAB. Ghost-type STAB moves. Excadrill also walls Jirachi and can devastate it with a powerful Earthquake. Both Cobalion and Skarmory can set entry hazards in front of Jirachi and can chip it with Rocky Helmet recoil, though they dislike Trick or and Thunder Wave.

**Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Seismitoad, and Swampert take very little from Jirachi's attacks and can either cripple it or decently damage it. Volcanion quadruply resists Jirachi's Iron Head thanks to its typing and can force it out. Slowking only fears Trick from Jirachi and can cripple it with a Flamethrower burn. (if not that, pls specify. or did you mean something else entirely?)

**Dark-types and Dark-type Coverage**: Dark-types like Zarude, Krookodile, and Hydreigon can all offensively threaten Jirachi and force it out with their STAB attacks. Zarude and Choice Scarf sets of the latter two Krookodile or Hydreigon can revenge kill non-Choice (added hyphen) Scarf Jirachi, with Choice Scarf Zarude outspeeding Choice Scarf variants as well. Mandibuzz and Umbreon aren't bothered much by Iron Head don't mind Iron Head much and can wear it down with Foul Play. The latter can also use its immunity to flinches to pass wishes Inner Focus to block flinches and freely pass Wish to its teammates. Furthermore, Pokemon carrying Knock Off like Tangrowth and Azelf can hinder Jirachi by removing its Leftovers.

(pls correct/fix/add/remove/etc as needed. made this a separate bullet bc eg tang's knock off isn't really "dark type coverage" but rather a utility move)

**Residual Damage and Status**: Due to Jirachi lacking reliable one-turn recovery, it is prone to getting worn down by entry hazards like Spikes as well as damage from attacking Rocky Helmet users like Skarmory, Tangrowth, and Amoonguss. Jirachi also hates getting burned and paralyzed burns and paralysis from Pokemon like Moltres, Rotom-W, and Chansey, as it gets worn down easily and struggles to outspeed and U-turn on with paralysis making it hard to outspeed threats like Krookodile and pivot on them with U-turn.
