[OVERVIEW]
Although it doesn't look threatening at first, Jumpluff has a few tricks up its sleeve to make it a viable Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame. Its ability to use both Sleep Powder and Leech Seed combined with a great Speed stat allows it to put slower foes to sleep and stall them out. Unfortunately, Jumpluff isn't extremely consistent, as Sleep Powder's somewhat low accuracy even with Wide Lens will occasionally miss. Additionally, Jumpluff's standard set cannot touch Grass-types at all, meaning it's useless and will almost always lose the matchup. Lastly, multi-hit moves like Rock Blast, priority moves like Ice Shard, and speed control moves like Flame Charge further add to the list of Jumpluff's bad matchups.

[SET]
name: SubSeed
move 1: Sleep Powder
move 2: Leech Seed
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Protect
item: Wide Lens
ability: Infiltrator
nature: Jolly
evs: 20 HP / 236 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Sleep Powder lets Jumpluff put the Foe to sleep, so it can use it can use Substitute and Leech Seed without taking damage. Substitute completely protects Jumpluff from attacks, while Leech Seed allows it to both continuously damage Foes while also healing its own HP. Protect also allows Jumpluff to avoid taking damage while not losing HP, however the Foe can either set up on your protect or attack through it with a Z-Move.

Set Details
========
Wide Lens is optimal for Jumpluff, as it doesn't need any other item, and any boost to Sleep Powder's accuracy is helpful. Infiltrator, while not a particularly useful ability, is better than nothing, and allows Jumpluff to go against Pokemon behind a Substitute. The only EVs on this set that really matter are 252 Speed with a Jolly nature. 20 HP EVs grant Jumpluff with a low HP divisible by 8 for maximum Leech Seed recovery, with the rest in Defense to try to take physical moves like Ice Shard or Rock Blast better.

Usage Tips
========
When Jumpluff is sent out, you'll play it the same pretty much every time. Jumpluff starts off by using Sleep Powder against the foe to start off the stall. Next it will want to use Substitute to both continue setting up the stall and account for a foe waking up the first turn, which a second-turn Leech Seed wouldn't do. After this, it should set up a Leech Seed. From here, Jumpluff will want to spam Protect and then Substitute to slowly but surely whittle the foe's health down until it eventually faints, assuming all goes well. Avoid taking hits at all cost, as Jumpluff is often unable to take them. If you're expecting a Z-Move, Jumpluff should use Substitute, as a well-timed Z-Move from something like Golem or Tapu Lele can go through Protect.

Team Options
========
When teambuilding with Jumpluff, fast Pokemon will immediately stick out as a threat. Because of this, you will want to be able to handle them, and bulky attackers are especially good at doing this. Z-Move users like Primarina, Donphan, and Tapu Lele are good examples of this. Bulky Mega Evolutions are also good at beating fast threats too, as Mega Metagross or Mega Mawile can beat Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z, and other faster threats like Mega Lopunny.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

As the combination of Sleep Powder and Leech Seed is Jumpluff's only real niche, other sets with different moves would be gimmicky at best. The most versatile part of Jumpluff is its item slot. Grassium Z combined with Sleep Powder can potentially help it handle Flame Charge users like Mega Charizard X and Y, and Yache Berry could try to avoid Donphan's Ice Shard from doing too much, but these are still very luck-based considering Sleep Powder's accuracy without Wide Lens is reduced and Jumpluff needs very optimal sleep turns. In order to try to avoid losing to sound moves like Uproar and Bug Buzz, Jumpluff can attempt to use a spread with Special Defense investment instead of Defense, especially if your team's matchup versus Pokemon like Golem is solid. Jumpluff can run Infestation instead of Protect to chip down Pokemon that use recovery moves. Jumpluff can run Chlorophyll over Infiltrator so it can try to beat Flame Charge Mega Charizard Y. If you're not worried about missing but would rather have a chance to beat Pokemon that outspeed Jumpluff, BrightPowder is worth considering. Jumpluff can run Strength Sap, but it struggles to find a moveslot for it. Jumpluff does get Swords Dance, so an offensive Flying-type attacking set could be a very surprising lure to potentially take down Grass-types like Mega Venusaur. Overall though, these sets are nearly completely inferior to Jumpluff's bread and butter Leech Seed set.

Checks and Counters
========

**Faster Pokemon**: Naturally fast Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Greninja are huge threats and can easily take Jumpluff down, as they are not afraid of being unable to attack it.
**Choice Scarf Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users, conventional or not, can outspeed Jumpluff and easily handle it. Common users are Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Sawk, and Haxorus.
**Grass-types**: As Grass-types are immune to Leech Seed and Sleep Powder, they fear nothing from Jumpluff.'
**Strong Sound Moves**: Moves like Mega Gardevoir's Hyper Voice and Genesect's Bug Buzz can easily go through Jumpluff's Substitute and OHKO or 2HKO it.
**Pokemon with Recovery:** Users of moves like Roost, Soft-Boiled, and Rest can outstall Jumpluff. Rest users in particular are able to gain 100% of their health and control their sleep, and they don't use PP while asleep.
**Taunt**: Jumpluff uses only status moves and is forced to use Struggle if it's afflicted by Taunt. It will almost always lose to Taunt users like Mega Gyarados and Tapu Lele.
**Flame Charge**: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y sometimes run Flame Charge and can break Jumpluff's Substitute, raise their Speed stat, and can then follow it up with a stronger Fire-type move to finish Jumpluff off. However, if Jumpluff runs Chlorophyll, Mega Charizard Y might struggle more.
**Multi-hit Moves**: Golem and Mega Heracross can use a strong Rock Blast to break through Jumpluff's Subsitute and continue to damage it.

I saw you say something about Chlorophyll being nice for Flame Charge Zard Y, but I really don't think it's worth. Once it's been revealed, Zard can choose not to mega evo in subsequent games. Chloro can stay slashed in, even first if you think it should be, but Infiltrator needs to be present.

  • Its ability to use both Sleep Powder and Leech Seed,(AC) combined with a great speed stat allows it to sleep and stall out slower foes.

  • Unfortunately, Jumpluff isn't extremely consistent, as Sleep Powder's somewhat low accuracy even with Wide Lens will occasionally make it miss.

  • Additionally, Jumpluff's standard set can not touch Grass Types at all, meaning it's useless and will almost always lose the matchup.

  • Lastly, multi-hit moves like Rock Blast or speed control moves like Flame Charge further add to a list of Jumpluff's bad matchups.

  • Add a line about how faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Naganadel and Zeraora can deal with Jumpluff, and also something about Taunt.

Moves
========

  • Every move on this set is almost completely necessary and can't easily be changed. (I don't think this line is really necessary here, but w/e)

  • Both Sleep Powder and Leech Seed are what give Jumpluff a niche in the first place, as other Sleep Powder users with access to Leech Seed are much slower.

  • These moves are the backbone of the set, as Sleep Powder buys time for Leech Seed to be set up without taking damage.

  • Substitute is also a very helpful move, as it also prevents Jumpluff from taking hits, while also passing time for the enemy Pokemon to take damage from Sleep Powder. Protect, again, prevents Jumpluff from damage that aren't weakened Z-Moves.

Set Details
========
  • Wide Lens is optimal for Jumpluff, as it doesn't need any other item, and any boost to Sleep Powder's accuracy is helpful. (Add a line about why it is helpful, ie, to increase its accuracy.)

  • Infiltrator, while not a particularly useful ability, is better than nothing, and allows Jumpluff to go against Pokemon behind a Substitute.

  • The only EVs on this set that really matter are 252 Speed with a Jolly nature.

  • The rest don't matter too much, and the set provided has a low HP divisible by 8 for maximum Leech Seed recovery, with the rest in defense to try to take physical moves like Ice Shard or Rock Blast better.

Usage Tips
========
  • When Jumpluff is set out, you'll play it the same pretty much every time. You start off by using Sleep Powder against your opponent to start off the stall.

  • Next you'll want to use Substitute to both keep setting up the stall and also accounting for a first turn wake, which a second-move Leech Seed wouldn't do.

  • After this, you should put up a Leech Seed. From here, you will want to spam Protect and then Substitute to slowly but surely whittle your opponent's health down until it eventually faints, assuming all goes well. Avoid taking hits at all cost, as Jumpluff is often unable to live them.

  • If you're expecting a Z-Move, you should use Substitute, as a well timed Z-Move from something like Golem or Tapu Lel(e) can go through Protect.
Team Options
========
  • When teambuilding with Jumpluff, fast Pokemon will immediately stick out as a threat.

  • Because of this, you will want to be able to handle them, and bulky attackers are especially good at doing this. Z-Move users like Primarina, Donphan, Tapu Lele and others are good examples of this.

  • Bulky Mega Pokemon are also good at beating fast threats too, as Mega Metagross or Mega Mawile can beat Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z, and other faster threats like Mega Lopunny.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • As the combination of Sleep Powder and Leech seed is Jumpluff's only real niche, other sets with different moves would be gimmicky at best. The most versatile part of Jumpluff is its item slot.

  • Grassium-Z combined with Sleep Powder can potentially handle Flame Charge users like Mega Charizard X and Y, and Yache Berry could try to avoid Donphan's Ice Shard from doing too much, but these are still very luck based considering Sleep Powder's accuracy without Wide Lens is reduced and the fact that Jumpluff needs very optimal sleep turns.

  • In order to try to avoid losing to sound moves like Uproar and Bug Buzz, Jumpluff can attempt to use a spread with Special Defense instead of defense, especially if your team's matchup vs Pokemon like Golem is solid.

  • Jumpluff can run Chlorophyll over Infiltrator so it can try to beat Flame Charge Mega Charizard Y.

  • Jumpluff also got Strength Sap in USUM, however it has a hard time fitting it onto sets.

  • Interestingly enough, Jumpluff does get Swords Dance, so an offensive Flying-Type attacking set could be a very surprising lure to potentially take down grasses like Mega Venusaur. Overall though, these sets are nearly completely inferior to Jumpluff's bread and butter Leech Seed set.

Checks and Counters

**Faster Pokemon**: Naturally fast Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Greninja are huge threats and can easily take Jumpluff down, while not being afraid of being unable to attack it.
**Choice Scarf Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users, conventional or not, can outspeed Jumpluff and easily handle it. Common users are Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Sawk and Haxorus.
**Grass Types**: As Grass Types are immune to Leech Seed and Sleep Powder, they fear nothing from Jumpluff.'
**Strong Sound Moves**: Moves like Mega Gardevoir's Hyper Voice and Genesect's Bug Buzz can easily go through Jumpluff's Substitute and OHKO or 2HKO.
**Pokemon with recovery moves:**Users of moves like Roost, Softboiled, Rest, etc. can outstall Jumpluff, as they don't use PP while asleep. Rest users in particular are able to gain 100% of their health and control their sleep.
**Taunt**: Jumpluff uses only status moves, and is forced to use Struggle if it's taunted, and will almost always lose if taunted by a Pokemon like Mega Gyarados or Tapu Lele.
**Flame Charge**: Mega Charizard, X or Y, sometimes run Flame Charge and can break Jumpluff's Substitute, raise their speed stat. and then can follow it up with a stronger Fire type move to finish Jumpluff off. However, if Jumpluff runs Chlorophyll, Mega Charizard Y might struggle more.
**Multi Hit Moves**: Golem and Mega Heracross can use strong Rock Blasts to break through Jumpluff's substitutes and continue to damage it.
AM QC!! Good stuff you got there!

1.Not using Infiltrator is kind of meta call. I’d include it as an option. Otherwise missing vs Pokémon that can only win by subbing happens. This just happens less than Flame Charge Mega-Y nowadays.

2. Pokemon with Recovery moves have to be able to attack Jumpluff or have something else like Leftovers. Otherwise, they can lose to Struggle. Just a sad fact I’ve learned using Psychium-Z Pyukumuku.

If you're going to mention bad matchups, might as well add Ice Shard to the list

BrightPowder is worth a mention. I know you don't like it but it's statistically about as good as Wide Lens

Also, Jumpluff also got the move (This flows better) Strength Sap in USUM, USM, ("USM" is the acronym Smogon uses) however it has a hard time fitting it onto sets (I think you should reword this sentence entirely, feels kind of redundant without an explanation as to why, but that might be more of a QC thing) . (remove line break) Also, Jumpluff also got the move (This flows better) Strength Sap in USUM, USM, ("USM" is the acronym Smogon uses) however it has a hard time fitting it onto sets (I think you should reword this sentence entirely, feels kind of redundant without an explanation as to why, but that might be more of a QC thing) Jumpluff can run Strength Sap, but it struggles to find a moveslot for it. (cross-gen references aren’t accepted) Interestingly enough, Jumpluff does get Swords Dance, so an offensive Flying-Type Flying-type (you don't need to capitalize "-type") attacking set could be a very surprising lure to potentially take down grasses Grass-types like Mega Venusaur. Overall though, these sets are nearly completely inferior to Jumpluff's bread and butter Leech Seed set.

Checks and Counters
=============

**Faster Pokemon**: Naturally fast Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Greninja are huge threats and can easily take Jumpluff down, while as they are not being afraid of being unable to attack it.

**Choice Scarf Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users, conventional or not, can outspeed Jumpluff and easily handle it. Common users are Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Sawk, (AC; smogon uses oxford / serial comma always) and Haxorus.

**Grass-types**: As Grass Types Grass-types are immune to Leech Seed and Sleep Powder, they fear nothing from Jumpluff.

**Strong Sound Moves**: Moves like Mega Gardevoir's Hyper Voice and Genesect's Bug Buzz can easily go through Jumpluff's Substitute and OHKO or 2HKO it.

**Pokemon with Recovery (c&c headers should have all words capitalised) moves:** Users of moves like Roost, Softboiled, Soft-Boiled, (This is the same as the one word two word situation mentioned above) and Rest etc can outstall out-stall ("outstall" is unfortunately not a term recognized by Smogon) Jumpluff, as they don't use PP while asleep. Rest users in particular are able to gain 100% of their health and control their sleep.

**Taunt**: Jumpluff uses only status moves (RC; only use commas before and if both clauses are independent) and is forced to use Struggle if it's taunted, afflicted by Taunt. and will almost always lose if taunted by a Pokemon like Mega Gyarados or Tapu Lele. It will almost always lose to Taunt users like Mega Gyarados and Tapu Lele.

**Flame Charge**: Mega Charizard, X or Y, Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y sometimes run Flame Charge and can break Jumpluff's Substitute, raise their Speed stat. and then can can then (while both are grammatically correct, "can then" flows better) follow it up with a stronger Fire type Fire-type move to finish Jumpluff off. However, if Jumpluff runs Chlorophyll, Mega Charizard Y might struggle more.

**Multi-Hit Moves**: Golem and Mega Heracross can use strong Rock Blasts STAB Rock Blast (The reason they are so "strong" is because they are STAB moves, also Rock Blast can't be plural since it's a proper noun) (mega heracross doesn’t get stab on it, keep original) to break through Jumpluff's substitutes Substitute and continue to damage it.

implemented! ready for 2nd gp!

was also wondering Analysis people if i could put a replay (https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen71v1-778624804) in the analysis, because its way easier to see what jumpluff does in action then read about it imo oo

Unfortunately, Jumpluff isn't extremely consistent, as Sleep Powder's somewhat low accuracy means that even with Wide Lens it will occasionally miss. Additionally, Jumpluff's standard set cannot touch Grass-types at all, meaning it's useless and will almost always lose the matchup. Lastly, multi-hit moves like Rock Blast, priority moves like Ice Shard, and speed control Speed-boosting moves like Flame Charge further add to the list of Jumpluff's bad matchups.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Sleep Powder lets Jumpluff put the Foe foe to sleep (RC) so it can use it can use Substitute and Leech Seed without taking damage. Substitute completely protects Jumpluff from attacks, while Leech Seed allows it to both continuously damage Foes foes while also healing its own HP. Protect also allows Jumpluff to avoid taking damage while not losing HP; (SC) however, (AC) the Foe foe can either set up on your protect Jumpluff's Protect or attack through it with a Z-Move.

Set Details
========
Wide Lens is optimal for Jumpluff, as it doesn't need any other item, and any boost to Sleep Powder's accuracy is helpful. Infiltrator, while not a particularly useful ability, is better than nothing, and allows Jumpluff to go up against Pokemon behind a Substitute. The only EVs on this set that really matter are 252 Speed with a Jolly nature. 20 HP EVs grant Jumpluff with a low HP divisible by 8 for maximum Leech Seed recovery, with the rest in Defense to try to take physical moves like Ice Shard or and Rock Blast better.

Usage Tips
========
When Jumpluff is sent out, you'll play it the same pretty much every time. Jumpluff starts off by using Sleep Powder against the foe to start off the stall. Next it will want to use Substitute to both continue setting up the stall and also accounting account for a foe waking up the first turn wake, which a second-move second-turn Leech Seed wouldn't do. After this, it should set up a Leech Seed. From here, Jumpluff will want to spam Protect and then Substitute to slowly but surely whittle the foe's health down until it eventually faints, assuming all goes well. Avoid taking hits at all cost, as Jumpluff is often unable to live take them. If you're expecting a Z-Move, Jumpluff should use Substitute, as a well-timed (AH) Z-Move from something like Golem or Tapu Lele can go through Protect.

Team Options
========
When teambuilding with Jumpluff, fast Pokemon will immediately stick out as a threat. Because of this, you will want to be able to handle them, and bulky attackers are especially good at doing this. Z-Move users like Primarina, Donphan, and Tapu Lele are good examples of this. Bulky Mega Evolutions are also good at beating fast threats too, as Mega Metagross or Mega Mawile can beat Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z (RC) and other faster threats like Mega Lopunny.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

As the combination of Sleep Powder and Leech Seed is Jumpluff's only real niche, other sets with different moves would be gimmicky at best. The most versatile part of Jumpluff is its item slot. Grassium Z combined with Sleep Powder can help it potentially handle Flame Charge users like Mega Charizard X and Y, and Yache Berry could try to avoid Donphan's Ice Shard from doing too much, but these are still very luck-based considering Sleep Powder's accuracy without Wide Lens is reduced and the fact that Jumpluff needs very optimal sleep turns. In order to try to avoid losing to sound moves like Uproar and Bug Buzz, Jumpluff can attempt to use a spread with Special Defense investment instead of Defense, especially if your team's matchup versus Pokemon like Golem are is solid. Jumpluff can run Chlorophyll over Infiltrator so it can try to beat Flame Charge Mega Charizard Y. If you're not worried about missing but instead would rather have a chance to beat Pokemon that outspeed Jumpluff, then BrightPowder is worth considering. Jumpluff can run Strength Sap, but it struggles to find a moveslot for it.
