[OVERVIEW]
Although it doesn't look threatening at first, Jumpluff has a few tricks up its sleeve to make it a viable Pokemon in the 1v1 metagame. Its ability to use both Sleep Powder and Leech Seed combined with a great Speed stat allows it to put slower foes to sleep and stall them out. Unfortunately, Jumpluff isn't extremely consistent, as Sleep Powder's somewhat low accuracy even with Wide Lens will occasionally miss. Additionally, Jumpluff's standard set cannot touch Grass-types at all, meaning it's useless and will almost always lose the matchup. Lastly, multi-hit moves like Rock Blast, priority moves like Ice Shard, and speed control moves like Flame Charge further add to the list of Jumpluff's bad matchups.

Moves
========
Sleep Powder lets Jumpluff put the Foe to sleep, so it can use it can use Substitute and Leech Seed without taking damage. Substitute completely protects Jumpluff from attacks, while Leech Seed allows it to both continuously damage Foes while also healing its own HP. Protect also allows Jumpluff to avoid taking damage while not losing HP, however the Foe can either set up on your protect or attack through it with a Z-Move.
Set Details
========
Wide Lens is optimal for Jumpluff, as it doesn't need any other item, and any boost to Sleep Powder's accuracy is helpful. Infiltrator, while not a particularly useful ability, is better than nothing, and allows Jumpluff to go against Pokemon behind a Substitute. The only EVs on this set that really matter are 252 Speed with a Jolly nature. 20 HP EVs grant Jumpluff with a low HP divisible by 8 for maximum Leech Seed recovery, with the rest in Defense to try to take physical moves like Ice Shard or Rock Blast better.
Usage Tips
========
When Jumpluff is sent out, you'll play it the same pretty much every time. Jumpluff starts off by using Sleep Powder against the foe to start off the stall. Next it will want to use Substitute to both continue setting up the stall and account for a foe waking up the first turn, which a second-turn Leech Seed wouldn't do. After this, it should set up a Leech Seed. From here, Jumpluff will want to spam Protect and then Substitute to slowly but surely whittle the foe's health down until it eventually faints, assuming all goes well. Avoid taking hits at all cost, as Jumpluff is often unable to take them. If you're expecting a Z-Move, Jumpluff should use Substitute, as a well-timed Z-Move from something like Golem or Tapu Lele can go through Protect.
Team Options
========
When teambuilding with Jumpluff, fast Pokemon will immediately stick out as a threat. Because of this, you will want to be able to handle them, and bulky attackers are especially good at doing this. Z-Move users like Primarina, Donphan, and Tapu Lele are good examples of this. Bulky Mega Evolutions are also good at beating fast threats too, as Mega Metagross or Mega Mawile can beat Choice Scarf users such as Porygon-Z, and other faster threats like Mega Lopunny.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
As the combination of Sleep Powder and Leech Seed is Jumpluff's only real niche, other sets with different moves would be gimmicky at best. The most versatile part of Jumpluff is its item slot. Grassium Z combined with Sleep Powder can potentially help it handle Flame Charge users like Mega Charizard X and Y, and Yache Berry could try to avoid Donphan's Ice Shard from doing too much, but these are still very luck-based considering Sleep Powder's accuracy without Wide Lens is reduced and Jumpluff needs very optimal sleep turns. In order to try to avoid losing to sound moves like Uproar and Bug Buzz, Jumpluff can attempt to use a spread with Special Defense investment instead of Defense, especially if your team's matchup versus Pokemon like Golem is solid. Jumpluff can run Infestation instead of Protect to chip down Pokemon that use recovery moves. Jumpluff can run Chlorophyll over Infiltrator so it can try to beat Flame Charge Mega Charizard Y. If you're not worried about missing but would rather have a chance to beat Pokemon that outspeed Jumpluff, BrightPowder is worth considering. Jumpluff can run Strength Sap, but it struggles to find a moveslot for it. Jumpluff does get Swords Dance, so an offensive Flying-type attacking set could be a very surprising lure to potentially take down Grass-types like Mega Venusaur. Overall though, these sets are nearly completely inferior to Jumpluff's bread and butter Leech Seed set.
Checks and Counters
========
**Faster Pokemon**: Naturally fast Pokemon such as Mega Lopunny and Greninja are huge threats and can easily take Jumpluff down, as they are not afraid of being unable to attack it.
**Choice Scarf Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users, conventional or not, can outspeed Jumpluff and easily handle it. Common users are Pokemon like Porygon-Z, Sawk, and Haxorus.
**Grass-types**: As Grass-types are immune to Leech Seed and Sleep Powder, they fear nothing from Jumpluff.'
**Strong Sound Moves**: Moves like Mega Gardevoir's Hyper Voice and Genesect's Bug Buzz can easily go through Jumpluff's Substitute and OHKO or 2HKO it.
**Pokemon with Recovery:** Users of moves like Roost, Soft-Boiled, and Rest can outstall Jumpluff. Rest users in particular are able to gain 100% of their health and control their sleep, and they don't use PP while asleep.
**Taunt**: Jumpluff uses only status moves and is forced to use Struggle if it's afflicted by Taunt. It will almost always lose to Taunt users like Mega Gyarados and Tapu Lele.
**Flame Charge**: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y sometimes run Flame Charge and can break Jumpluff's Substitute, raise their Speed stat, and can then follow it up with a stronger Fire-type move to finish Jumpluff off. However, if Jumpluff runs Chlorophyll, Mega Charizard Y might struggle more.
**Multi-hit Moves**: Golem and Mega Heracross can use a strong Rock Blast to break through Jumpluff's Subsitute and continue to damage it.
