Gen 1 Jynx (Ubers) [QC 2/2] [GP 2/2]

It’s always gaming time
is a Pre-Contributor
[OVERVIEW]

Jynx is a good sleeper in the Ubers metagame, able to immediately pressure opposing teams with the fastest Lovely Kiss in the game. It has very powerful STAB moves in Blizzard and Psychic that give it good coverage to hit Rhydon, Exeggutor, and Zapdos for good damage while pressuring Chansey with Special drops. Jynx has decent Speed and a decent Special stat to back up its Lovely Kiss and strong STAB moves. Being an Ice-type even allows it to pivot into and wall Ice Beam Chansey, Mewtwo, and Slowbro before they set up with Amnesia.

However, Jynx has very low Defense, taking heavy damage from most physical attacks. It is slower than several notable Pokemon such as Tauros, Gengar, Zapdos, and Mew. Jynx can also end up as setup bait for Slowbro, Mew, and the dangerous Mewtwo after it has put something to sleep and gotten its freeze, requiring very careful use after landing both statuses. Overall, Jynx finds its role as a strong sleep- and freeze-inducing lead with good matchups against standard Psychic-type leads.

Set Description
=========

Lovely Kiss is Jynx's best move, allowing it to likely disable one of the opponent's Pokemon for most of the game. Blizzard and Psychic hit the majority of the tier for solid damage. Psychic also has a chance to lower the foe's Special, helping Jynx deal a little bit more damage with subsequent attacks. Counter allows Jynx to fire off massive damage after taking a Normal-type move, usually Body Slam from Tauros, Snorlax, or Mew. However, it is very prediction reliant, as all three run Earthquake and can use it to avoid damage from Counter. Rest helps Jynx stall Chansey, eliminating an obstacle for your own Mewtwo, as well as increasing Jynx's overall longevity. One must be aware that many physical attackers and setup sweepers can take advantage of a sleeping Jynx, so Rest must be used carefully.

Jynx sometimes gets an early-game freeze before it can try to freeze Mewtwo, so Light Screen Chansey is a premier teammate, as it provides one of the tier’s best checks to Mewtwo. Light Screen allows Chansey to avoid the 3HKO from Mewtwo's Psychic and paralyze it with Thunder Wave. Another good option is Flash Chansey to PP stall opposing Mewtwo if Jynx is running Rest. Jynx is both great with and against Explosion. Teammates with Explosion such as Gengar, Mew, and Exeggutor, or Snorlax with Self-Destruct, appreciate Jynx chipping the opposing team into their range. Also, Jynx should be used to take Explosion or as sleep fodder after it has inflicted its status effects to prevent Mewtwo and Slowbro from using it as setup fodder.

Teammates that can check Mew are very helpful, as Mew can come in against Jynx and set up for free with Swords Dance, especially if Jynx has used Rest. The best check to Mew is Mew itself; Transform Mew is a very solid counter to opposing Swords Dance Mew, as it can easily turn the opponent's strategy against them. Gengar is another good teammate that completely counters mono-Body Slam Mew. Rhydon and Golem are other good checks to mono-Normal Mew and can support Jynx by absorbing other Normal- and Electric-type attacks, both of which can be problematic for it. Rhydon is stronger and bulkier than Golem and can help pressure the opposing team more immediately. However, both Jynx and Rhydon are somewhat slow for the Ubers metagame, and Amnesia users can use them as setup fodder. Golem, while weaker and frailer than Rhydon, is slightly faster and has Explosion as a one-time nuke, which can take out almost anything on the opposing team and applies immense constant pressure.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Jynx’s last moveslot has a few options available to it. One option is Ice Beam, which has more PP and therefore more opportunities to freeze than Blizzard alone. Another option is Seismic Toss, which allows Jynx to pressure threats it wouldn't otherwise be able to deal with, like Slowbro and Mewtwo after Amnesia. Body Slam can spread paralysis, but its inconsistency and Jynx's very low Attack stat make this mostly not worth it. Mimic is a gimmick that can give Jynx useful moves such as Recover, Thunder Wave, and Amnesia but is very matchup- and luck-based. Jynx has the option of dropping Psychic to run two other moves and potentially catch something off guard at the cost of not being able to pressure Chansey. An interesting option is running 7 DVs in Defense to OHKO Tauros with Counter after getting hit by Body Slam. However, this significantly hurts Jynx, as it already somewhat lacks longevity, and it can also be useless if the opponent is careful and uses Earthquake.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Slowbro**: Slowbro sets up on Jynx, takes minimal damage from Psychic and Blizzard, can heal Seismic Toss damage, and doesn’t care about Body Slam paralysis. However, it does fear a freeze. A Slowbro that is asleep from Rest can be chipped by Seismic Toss into the range of a teammate’s Explosion. Keep in mind that Slowbro with only Ice Beam must be at +6 to even 3HKO Jynx.

**Starmie**: While less common, Starmie always walls Jynx's coverage and heals the little damage it may take. It can also effectively absorb Jynx's Lovely Kiss and use Thunder Wave to cripple Jynx. However, too many Psychic Special drops can force it out.

**Gengar**: Gengar is a very common lead, is faster than Jynx, and carries Hypnosis. It can also use Explosion to OHKO Jynx, which can put Jynx's team at a big disadvantage if there is no backup sleeper. However, Hypnosis's chance to miss means Gengar should fear possibly being put to sleep itself or taking big damage from Psychic.

**Paralysis**: Pokemon that can use Thunder Wave such as Mew, Jolteon, and Alakazam can severely cripple Jynx, as it has very little use without the option of a fast Lovely Kiss.

**Chansey**: Chansey takes minimal damage from any of Jynx's moves and forces it out with Seismic Toss. It can also put Jynx to sleep with Sing or paralyze it with Thunder Wave. However, Jynx can freeze Chansey or drop its Special, forcing it out. Also, if Ice Beam is Chansey's only attacking move, Jynx can wall it and use Rest to heal damage.

**Mewtwo**: Mewtwo sets up on Jynx as long as it does not get frozen. Mewtwo can also use Thunder Wave to cripple Jynx. However, Jynx has a chance to beat Mewtwo if it gets fully paralyzed for a few turns before it sets up, or if Jynx lands some critical hits.

**Tauros**: Lead Tauros versus lead Jynx is a gamble for both sides. Tauros is able to fish for Body Slam paralysis, a critical hit Body Slam that OHKOes 66% of the time, or Stomp flinches. On the other hand, if Tauros fails to get any of those, Jynx can try to put it to sleep, use Counter, or use Blizzard for heavy damage. However, Tauros can also use Earthquake on the first turn to avoid Counter and guarantee a KO with Hyper Beam on the next turn. Also, Tauros is able to come in later in the game and finish off a weakened Jynx with little issues.

Obligatory "not QC" but I wanna give some points I spotted. Not sure if it's been done in DMs or not.
However, Jynx has very low Defense, taking heavy damage from most physical attacks.
You should really cite Tauros here, as it's a semi-common lead.

Blizzard has a chance to Freeze an opponent, possibly making something on the opposing team worthless for the rest of the battle.
You could possibly link this in with Lovely Kiss, maybe write it right after and link it in with "additionally" at the start and "something else" instead of "something".

Ice Beam is used to have more PP for moves that can Freeze, as well as having an accurate hit on incoming Mewtwo for a higher overall Freeze chance.
The chance for Ice Beam to freeze with PP exhausted is around 85%, if you want some proper numbers.

The first of these is Body Slam, allowing Jynx to attempt to spread Paralysis. However, the somewhat inconsistent Paralysis chance and Jynx’s very low attack stat make Body Slam mostly not worth it.
I wouldn't call the paralysis inconsistent, it's just not worth the the reward damage-wise.

Jynx has decent speed
You should mention than you are slower than a great part of the metagame: Tauros, Gengar, Mew, Mewtwo, Zapdos, Starmie, Kazam, Jolteon are faster.

move 4: Ice Beam / Seismic Toss
Rest is more relevant than Ice Beam. With Rest, Jynx is able to stall opposing Chansey, which is very good for your mewtwo. The main downside is that during his sleep, Jynx is vulnerable to Physical attackers, especially Snorlax, Rhydon and Tauros.

Blizzard has a chance to Freeze [...] Light Screen Chansey is a premier teammate for Jynx, as it provides one of the tier’s best Mewtwo checks
Freezing something early game means that you won't be able to deal with mewtwo with the freeze, whereas your opponent can. This also means that you must use a Light Screen+Seismic Toss Chansey to deal with opposing mewtwo (and usually freeze sack your Chansey, and then you can play the Mewtwo duel). This is why Light Screen Chansey is playable with Jynx.

After Jynx has done its main job of Sleeping and Freezing things,
this is the main dowside of Jynx. Jynx can't do anything else except sleeping and trying to freeze somethings. Jynx suffers from the comparison with other sleepers. Exeggutor can check a ton of threat: Rhydon, Snorlax, Mew, non-IceBeam Mewtwo, Tauros, Gengar, Jolteon, Slowbro... Stun SPore also provide paralysis support. At last, Eggy has Explosion to deal with Mewtwo, Mew and Slowbro. Chansey is also a more consistant sleeper. Even Sing has a poor precision, a midgame Sing is very dangerous for unconscious Mewtwo, Mew or Snorlax. Chansey is able to spread paralysis, and its great bulk allows it to not be directly afraid by physical spammer (both Mew and Tauros hate Twave, Rhydon hate Ice Beam). Finally, Gengar gives troubles to normal spam, and has access to Explosion. After all, what does Jynx do ? Jynx puts to sleep and trys to fish freeze. Jynx is hard to use, because, it doesn't add anything to your team and aggravate physical weakness.

Checks and Counters
===================
You should especially add:
-Chansey: Chansey is in almost every competitive teams, and take no damage from Jynx. Seismic Toss can force out Jynx. Also opposing Chansey could put jynx asleep with Sing, and then the opponent can easily pressure it with Physical Attacker like Snorlax, Tauros or Mew.
-Tauros: Tauros is the most common lead of the rby ubers and it have a good MU vs Jynx. Tauros has different ways to beat Jynx: Tauros can just click BSlam (considering para, misses, and crits, both Jynx and Tauros have equal chance); Tauros can use Stomp: Stomp can flinch opposing Jynx, and put in range of HB. Stomp also makes low damage, so Jynx doesn't OHKO Tauros with a Stomp-based Counter. Vs this version of Tauros, Jynx has only 52,5% chance to put asleep Tauros t1; sometimes Tauros uses HB t1 (7.7% chance to OHKO + critical hit chance --> 25% chance to OHKO Jynx);
-Gengar: gengar is the second most common lead. Gengar is faster and has Hypnosis
-Starmie: even starmie is rare, it perfectly walls Jynx's STABs and it is a good sleep absorber.

Physical Attackers: Most strong Physical attackers will be able to force out or KO Jynx thanks to its very low Defense. A special mention goes to Swords Dance users such as Mew that can use Jynx as setup fodder if Freeze Clause is already active.
you should add that every physical attacker can easilly abuse a statued Jynx (sleep / para). This is one of the best way to deal with Jynx.

Jynx’s role as a lead means it should be coming in and clicking Lovely Kiss as soon as possible in order to put an opposing Pokemon out of commission for most of the game. Blizzard and Psychic provide Jynx good neutral coverage to hit the majority of the tier for solid damage, along with getting the STAB bonus for extra power. Blizzard has a chance to Freeze an opponent, possibly making something on the opposing team worthless for the rest of the battle. Psychic also has a chance to lower the opponent’s Special, helping Jynx deal a little bit more damage with subsequent attacks. Seismic Toss allows Jynx to pressure a Paralyzed Mewtwo and put it into the range of one of Jynx’s teammates’ Explosions, especially Snorlax Self-Destruct. On the other hand, Rest helps Jynx stall Chansey, helping your own Mewtwo. However, many physical attackers or setup sweepers can take advantage of a sleeping Jynx, making Rest somewhat risky.

Light Screen Chansey is a premier teammate for Jynx, as it provides one of the tier’s best Mewtwo checks. Jynx's tendency to get an early game Freeze before opposing Mewtwo enter the field removes your option of Freezing opposing Mewtwo later on. Light Screen allows Chansey to not be 3HKOd by maximum power Psychic, and Chansey can Paralyze Mewtwo with Thunder Wave. This takes pressure off Jynx and then allows it to come in and safely Seismic Toss. Another good option is Flash Chansey, to PP stall opposing Mewtwo if Jynx is running Rest. Jynx is both great with and against Explosion. Teammates with Explosion such as Gengar, Mew and Exeggutor, or Snorlax with Self-Destruct, appreciate Jynx chipping the opposing team into their range. Against Explosion, Jynx should be used to absorb the move after it has inflicted both Sleep and Freeze on the opponent’s team. This prevents it from becoming setup fodder for Mewtwo and Slowbro, while also allowing a frailer teammate to come in for free. After Jynx has done its main job of Sleeping and Freezing things, the Jynx player must be very careful to not let Amnesia Slowbro or Mewtwo set up on Jynx, as Jynx cannot do anything back and will let them run away with the game.

Jynx greatly enjoys the company of strong Explosion users such as Swords Dance Mew and Snorlax. They are very effective in pressuring Mewtwo and Slowbro, two Pokemon that Jynx is helpless against. Transform Mew is also a good partner, since it counters opposing Swords Dance Mew that Jynx otherwise struggles against. Jynx also appreciates answers to Reflect Mew such as Reflect Zapdos, Gengar, and Rhydon. Rhydon is an especially good partner as teams with Jynx tend to be otherwise weak to Zapdos.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Jynx’s last moveslot has a few options available to it. The first of these is Body Slam, allowing Jynx to attempt to spread Paralysis. However, the somewhat inconsistent Paralysis chance and Jynx’s very low attack stat make Body Slam mostly not worth it. Another option is Counter, which Jynx can use to deal massive damage to an opponent that used a Normal or Fighting type move against it. Counter primarily targets lead Tauros or late-game Snorlax. However, Jynx’s HP and Defense are very low. It normally will not deal enough damage back to KO anyways, making Counter very situational and risky to use. A third possibility is Ice Beam, allowing it to have more PP on Freezing moves and be more consistent at getting a Freeze at some point throughout the game. However, Ice Beam Jynx is no longer able to pressure Mewtwo at all, making it very easy for opposing Mewtwo to set up on Jynx if the Jynx player gives it even a bit of leeway.

Checks and Counters
===================

Slowbro: Slowbro sets up on Jynx, takes minimal damage from Psychic and Blizzard, can heal Seismic Toss damage, and doesn’t care about Body Slam Paralysis. However, Slowbro does fear a Freeze. A Slowbro that is Asleep from Rest can be chipped by Seismic Toss into the range of a teammate’s Explosion.

Amnesia Mewtwo: If it is Paralyzed, Mewtwo sets up on Jynx similarly to Slowbro, without fearing a Freeze. However, a Paralyzed Mewtwo can be chipped by Seismic Toss into the range of an Explosion from one of Jynx’s teammates. If Mewtwo is not Frozen and something else already is, it does not fear anything Jynx can possibly do to it.

Chansey: Chansey is very common and takes minimal damage from any of Jynx's moves, and forces it out with Seismic Toss. It can also put Jynx to sleep with Sing, allowing any Physical attacker to take advantage of it.

Gengar: Gengar is a very common lead, and it is faster and carries Hypnosis. However, Hypnosis's chance to miss means Gengar does need to worry about possibly being put to sleep itself or taking big damage from Jynx's Psychic.

Starmie: While less common, Starmie walls Jynx's coverage all day and Recovers off the little damage it may take. It can also effectively absorb Jynx's Lovely Kiss.

Tauros: Lead Tauros has a good matchup against Jynx, being able to fish for Body Slam Paralysis, Stomp flinches, or a 25% chance to flat-out OHKO Jynx with critical Hyper Beam. an OHKO from a critical hit Body Slam 66,7% of the time, or Stomp flinches. Overall, Jynx has only a slightly favorable chance to put Tauros to sleep Turn 1, making this matchup inconsistent and unreliable.

Physical Attackers: Most strong Physical attackers will be able to force out or KO Jynx thanks to its very low Defense. Almost all Physical attackers are able to easily abuse a Sleeping or Paralyzed Jynx. A special mention goes to Swords Dance users such as Mew (Mew is the only viable SD user in Uber) that can use Jynx as setup fodder if Freeze Clause is already active.

My comments on the Overview

It has very powerful STAB moves in Blizzard and Psychic that give it good coverage to hit a variety of threats for good neutral damage.

or super-effective

Being an Ice-type also allows it to fish for Freezes on opposing threats that try to switch or stay in, such as Chansey, Mew, Snorlax, and Slowbro.

This could be naive in some cases though, since you could be giving their Mewtwo more opportunity. Also, Mew and Slowbro can set up as you later say, so kind of a risk to attempt freezes?

Overall, Jynx finds its role as a strong Sleep inducing lead with a good matchup against standard Psychic-type leads that can also Freeze an opponent.

makes it sound like other Psychic-type leads can freeze.

move 4: Seismic Toss / Rest
I would order the moves Lovely Kiss, Blizzard, Psychic. For all the Jynx dittos, you are using Lovely Kiss. And I mean you aren't certainly aren't using Psychic first turn the majority of the time and it seems the easiest to replace if you want both Rest and an alternative move. For 4th move, I would personally go Rest / Counter / Seismic Toss. Counter is risky, but it's not hypothetical at all, since Tauros is a common lead. I see it being used well more than Seismic Toss. I guess seeing what other people say would be useful though.

"try to", sleep could be short in some cases. Also I'm not a fan of just repeating the overview in the set comments.

Jynx's tendency to get an early game Freeze before opposing Mewtwo enter the field removes your option of Freezing opposing Mewtwo later on.

I don't believe there's any tendency to get an early game freeze. It's not a thing when I use Jynx. I would keep my options open at the start and not try to deliberately freeze. I think the analysis needs to be aware of playstyles and different skill levels or just not go into the debate territory.

The first half of this second paragraph and the third paragraph seems strange to me. It feels like it ignores too much that Jynx could well be asleep a lot of the time (sleep absorbing or rest) and it overhypes how useful it is in an Ubers game. I'm happy to be educated (I'm sure I could learn more about Jynx), but I think it needs to be more realistic about it generally works.

Anyway keep up the good work, I'm just focusing on my disagreements. The overview was a strong start.

I concour here with the moveset order. About Counter, i'm not a fan of it in the main set BUT i'm ok with it if other players want it. Its just not consistent enought in my eyes to be in the main set.

You're right here, using Jynx as a sleep absorber is important and need to be mentioned. About the early freeze, i think it varies with how each players like to aproach the early-game, since freewzing a chansey / slowbro soften a explosion slot to use versus M2. But i concour that it can be rephrased to not be an affirmative play all the times.

I’ve been told by GP before that stabs go at the top of the set, but I’m happy to change it and then see what they say.

Will change this, I think it’s probably better that way too

I’ll add a sentence about this.

My Comments on Other Options and Checks and Counters

The first of these is Body Slam, allowing Jynx to attempt to spread Paralysis. However, the somewhat inconsistent Paralysis chance and Jynx’s very low attack stat make Body Slam mostly not worth it.

I can't recall the last time I've seen it being used. The common reply is letting something sleep and going to Chansey. It could surprise Mewtwo, but then it's just letting it set up, and well I'm not sure Mewtwo can dodge paralysis too well that Jynx would make much of a difference. I'd either change it to last place or drop it completely.

Also I'd mention that a KO of Tauros from Counter could allow Jynx to put something else to sleep potentially. Putting it down to that low health is useful so it doesn't get in easily against Chansey, which could be paralyzed by an opposing Chansey previously.

Gengar: Gengar is a very common lead, and it is faster and carries Hypnosis. However, Hypnosis's chance to miss means Gengar does need to worry about possibly being put to sleep itself or taking big damage from Jynx's Psychic.

It explodes as well, making it a worry if you have no backup sleeper.

Tauros

It could also avoid Counter with Earthquake first turn.

So, I'm going to talk about an additional approach to Jynx beyond what's normally used, and that's not lead Jynx. Jynx is somewhat notable outside of the lead spot, despite doing the exact same thing, because the lead metagame doesn't have to be as status focused as it does in OU. Jynx is still an early game mon, but it can come in against the right target use Lovely Kiss and then remain in the back to snipe certain Pokemon. It's a bit up and coming for the meta, but I have seen it used in tournament games now, so I'll talk about my experience with and against it, both as a lead and a non-lead. Because of that expect some changes. If others want to disagree on me or whatever, I understand and please feel free to post it here. We can also discuss more privately on Discord or w/e.

Overview
  • Change lead to sleeper
  • Too much redundancy in the first sentence. Just say that it can put pokemon to sleep with Lovely Kiss and add something about it being the fastest 75% accuracy sleeper
  • Change variety of Pokemon to Rhydon, Egg and Zapdos for Blizzard and Chansey for Psychic
  • Change the sentence about fishing for freezes to Jynx doesn't worry about freezing, allowing it to pivot and even wall Chansey and Ice Beam Mewtwo and Slowbro (before they set-up Amnesia)
  • Change a variety of common pokemon to several notable Pokemon
  • Say that a Paralyzed Mewtwo and Slowbro can set-up against Jynx without fear and Mew can set-up while Jynx is sleeping.
  • Change lead to sleeper and take away the word strong and freezer.
Set
  • name: Sleeper Lead
    move 1: Lovely Kiss
    move 2: Blizzard
    move 3: Psychic
    move 4: Counter / Rest / Seismic Toss
  • I think Counter and Rest are the best two options and S Toss is really more oo to me personally, but I think that's just me. Counter absolutely should be first though imo.

Set Description
  • Change main asset to best move
  • You don't need to explain how sleep and freeze affects an opponent
  • Take out neutral coverage since it can't do anything to Bro and Mie
  • Say that Blizzard breaks some tanks like Rhydon and Egg while Psychic helps try to wall break chansey
  • Add that counter lets Jynx do significant damage to Tauros Snorlax and Body Slam Mew. However, it is prediction based and EQ is commonly found on all 3, making Counter risky. However, forcing EQ's can also be something Jynx can take advantage of. Jynx can also use counter after something uses Explosion from a high HP. The opponent will switch-out to something that can take LK and/or Blizzard and be KOed by the residual counter damage
  • Just say that Rest helps stall chansey, it really can't do much else, especially in Ubers.
  • Say that Chansey, especially Ice Beam Chansey, struggles to beat rest Jynx and Jynx can either fish for freezes, try to wall break/force a switch with Psychic Spec Drops or stall it for PP. Also note that Jynx can only hope to wallbreak a paralyzed Light Screen Chansey regardless of it has Rest or not.
  • S Toss is for Pokemon like Bro and opposing Jynx who don't take much damage from Jynx's other attacking moves. It lets Jynx keep up some pressure vs them. It can put Mewtwo into Boom range, but Mewtwo has Recover and is 5HKOed by S Toss while 2HKOing Jynx at +3, so that's an uphill battle.
  • Add that S Toss can help but its the most situational and is best used to cover specific weaknesses on a team.
  • LS Chansey actually doesn't have that great of synergy, because all it does is wall, which allows opponents to burn sleep turns and/or recover off whatever damage Jynx did to them.
  • Take out the part about not allowing you to freeze M2 later
  • Just remove the whole part about Chansey tbh. It's not that Chansey doesn't support Jynx, but it's not in the ways you're talking. Jynx supports offense and wants that to take advantage of a quick 5/6, thanks to LK. Or even a 4/6 with an early Freeze and/or Counter. LS and Flash Chansey just give the opponent a chance to make up lost ground, as Chansey can be a huge momentum sink with some light predictions/smart switching, and/or a way to wake up their sleeping mon.
  • Remove the part about using Jynx to fodder for Explosion and Sleep. Say that Jynx can be helpful throughout the game to help fish for freezes/force out chansey. It also helps wallbreak Egg in the midgame and KO Don and Zap in the late game, thanks to STAB Blizzard. However, once paralyzed Jynx becomes much worse, due to its fragility.
  • Keep all the explosion stuff together, and especially don't put half of it in a new paragraph
  • Add the part about taking advantage of early advantage with Jynx, which I mentioned above
  • Add a small part about how Jynx normally functions as a lead, it can work in a non-lead position as well. From the non-lead it doesn't have to worry about being statused turn 1 and can come in against something like Chansey or even Mewtwo and immediately put a lot of pressure thanks to LK. If it stays unstatused, it can also be used to hit Rhydon in the late game, which can be a huge relief, especially for teams with Zapdos. Although Jynx's fragility means it's easier said than done.
  • So i'm going to disagree with your team options.
    • Transform Mew can be good, but enough to be notable imo.
    • Rhydon is a bad partner imo. Both mons are slow for Ubers and Amnesia users can use both of them as set-up fodder. Golem is a little bit better, thanks to Explosion, so you could mention it instead. However, note the speed issue
    • I'd take out the part about needing to check SD Mew. Using Mew to check Jynx feels more like a desperation play.
      • See EDIT 1
    • Zapdos does make a good partner, since it has a decent crit rate which lets it take out Bro and Chansey, both of whom Jynx can weaken to help set-up Zap. Zap also can be a good revenge killer. Zap can also come in on EQ, which might be used against Jynx to stop Jynx's counter. And Zap obviously appreciates Rhydon gone. You don't need to mention screens Zap or any particular set though. Since they all have their pros and cons and can all be used with Jynx
    • Egg can work with Jynx since it can be a back up sleeper, take physical attacks, especially EQ, for Jynx while Jynx takes Blizzards and IB for Egg. Boom is very helpful as well. SS also helps with para support allowing Jynx to outspeed. DE is also good to hit special walls that may give Jynx problems, like Chansey, Zam and opposing Jynx.
    • Amne Lax can be used as more offensive version of lax to help take out opposing lax and other thicker Pokemon. Meanwhile Jynx can sleep a problematic mon or just support lax in general by softening Amne Lax's targets or vice versa. Boom is generally better, but Rest can help vs Slowbro, especially with Amne Lax has Thunderbolt.
    • Tauros can be a good partner, liking the removal of a couple of Pokemon in the early game and being able to quickly take out sleeping pokemon or pokemon that Jynx has weakened. Spreading para with B Slam is helpful as well, and Jynx's Blizzard helps Stomp Tauros who usually only runs EQ as Rhydon coverage.
    • I'd probably order the Team Options as Zap first, second Tauros, third Egg, then Golem and last AmneLax.
Other options
  • Obviously we'll move Counter to the main set
  • Remove the part about IB not pressuring M2
  • Cool idea for Body Slam, I hadn't thought about that actually. Add that para'd Chansey coming in against Jynx, makes B Slam useless
  • It's mostly a gimmick, but Mimic can be used on Jynx. Getting LS, T Wave or Soft-boiled can be good as Chansey switches in. Amnesia is really good from Slowbro and Mewtwo. Recovery and Tbolt or TWave can be good from Starmie as well. But emphasize that you get the move randomly, so it's unreliable and can't be relied on.
  • Add that you can drop Psychic at the cost of not pressuring Chansey to run both Counter and another utility move. Blizzard/Ice Beam is generally going to be your spammed moved anyways, and if your opponent doesn't think you're running counter, after showing an SToss, BSlam, Mimic or w/e, then you have a chance to snipe a ko with Counter, as they throw caution to the wind and go for a BSlam instead of an EQ.
  • Lovely Kiss, Ice Beam, Mimic Rest can try to wall/freeze Chansey, Slowbro or even Mewtwo. It still puts things to sleep with LK and can do decent damage with IB. But this set relies on so much luck that it's barely notable.
Checks and Counters
  • Add that mono Ice Beam Slowbro needs to be at +6 to start 3HKOing Jynx.
  • Change Amnesia Mewtwo to just Mewtwo and change it to say that Mewtwo can set-up on Jynx as long as it doesn't get frozen. T Wave Mewtwo also paralyzes and cripples Jynx as well. However a paralyzed Mewtwo can be KO'd if it gets fully paralyzed a few times before it can set-up, and/or Jynx gets some crits.
  • Change Chansey that it takes can paralyze, sleep and/or PP Stall Jynx. However, Jynx can freeze Chansey and force it out with Psychic drops. Jynx also doesn't take much damage from mono ice beam Chansey. If Jynx has Rest, it's best for Chansey to try and force it to rest with S Toss and then switch in something offensive while Jynx is napping.
  • Say that Lead Gengar beats lead Jynx (both can be used outside of the lead and Gengar gets used quite a bit outside of that spot)
  • Add that Gar's boom can OHKO Jynx. Gar can boom on lead Jynx and then go to its backup sleeper
  • Add that Starmie has T Wave.
  • Add that Starmie can eventually be forced out with Psychic drops from Jynx
  • Take out the part about effectively absorbing sleep. Starmie isn't nearly as bulky in Ubers
  • Take out Lead Tauros being a good match-up. Say that although the Tauros and Jynx mu is a gamble for both sides. However, Tauros has tools it can use to KO Jynx before Jynx even has a chance to attack. Also outside of the lead, Tauros can take out an injured Jynx without much worry. However, LK is obviously a problem, Blizzard does a lot of damage and Counter is a huge risk for Tauros. Tauros should not be ran as a Jynx check, but it can be effective against it.
  • Remove physical attackers. None of them want to take hits from an unstatused Jynx
  • Add paralyzers. Thunder Wave users, such as Zam, Jolteon and Mew are also noteworthy for being able to paralyze Jynx with Thunder Wave. Iterate that paralysis severely cripples Jynx. Add that Body Slam also cripples Jynx and do good damage in general, but its more risky, because it's not a guaranteed paralysis and Jynx may have counter.
  • Reorder the list to:
    • Slowbro
    • Starmie
    • Gengar
    • Paralyzers
    • Chansey
    • Mewtwo
    • Tauros
So the other QCers and I are discussing about some of the changes, I've suggested. I'm going to write down Edits to this below. LTG will write anything that doesn't contradict for now, and edits that correct any contradictions will be added as things are decided.

EDIT 1:
You're going to have organize these thoughts to make it flow in the analysis. Sorry.
  • Say that Mew may come in on Jynx to set-up, especially if Jynx is running Rest. So you have to keep that in mind and have a mew check ready while using Jynx.
  • Most Mew sets are good at checking other Mew. Unpara'd Jynx can help mono Normal Mew vs Rhydon, Golem and Gengar as well. Jynx switches in as the opponent switches in their mew check and Jynx then threatens them with a super-effective attack. To threaten Gengar, something else has to already be a sleep and/or Gengar needs to be para'd. Due to Gengar being a counter to mono-Normal Mew, Gengar is not likely to Explode on Jynx.
  • Obviously your own Rhydon or Golem can counter opposing mono-Normal Mew as well. They can also help Jynx by coming in on Electric and Normal-type attacks, both of which can be problematic for Jynx. Jynx's can take out key threats with LK and freeze, and hit Egg super-effectively, all of which helps give them some synergy. As I talked about before, be sure to include that Jynx and Rhydon are both slow for the Ubers metagame and Amnesia users can use both of them to set-up.
  • Rhydon is stronger and has more defense, which can help with taking moves and wallbreaking, without sacrificing itself. Golem has a bit less power and defense, but it does have Explosion, which can put immense pressure on your opponent and has immense wallbreaking capabilities.

Alright so I took a look at some of the changes you made. Here's a few things on that.
Overview
  • Add that Jynx pivots Mewtwo and Bro before they set-up amnesia
Set Description
  • change helping your Mewtwo to eliminating one more obstacle for Mewtwo
  • I think you meant overall longevity
Other Options
  • Add that you can run 7 DVs on Jynx for Counter to OHKO Tauros' Body Slam every time. But add that it may not be worth lowering Jynx's already questionable longevity. However, if you're yoloing it, that lower DV is at least something to consider.
    • but again iterate that EQ makes counter completely ineffective and that is enough to consider not dropping stats.

[OVERVIEW]

Jynx is a good sleeper in the Ubers metagame, able to immediately pressure opposing teams with the fastest Lovely Kiss in the game. It has very powerful STAB moves in Blizzard and Psychic that give it good coverage to hit Rhydon, Exeggutor, and Zapdos for good damage, while pressuring Chansey with Special drops. Jynx has decent speed Speed and a decent Special stat to back up its strong STABs and Lovely Kiss. Being an Ice-type also allows it to pivot into and even wall Ice Beam Chansey, as well Mewtwo, and Slowbro before they set up Amnesia.

However, Jynx has very low Defense, taking heavy damage from most physical attacks. Jynx is also slower than several notable Pokemon such as Tauros, Gengar, Zapdos, and Mew. Jynx can also end up as setup bait for Slowbro, Mew, and the dangerous Mewtwo after it has put something to sleep and gotten its Freeze freeze (status effects are not capitalized). For this reason, a Jynx player must be very careful about how they use it after this has happened. Overall, Jynx finds its role as a strong Sleep and Freeze inducing lead with a good matchup against standard Psychic-type leads. Furthermore, Jynx's role also includes being a freeze-inducing lead with a good matchup against standard Psychic-type leads. (you've already mentioned its role as a good sleeper in the first line of the analysis, so I feel that there's no need to repeat)

move 2: Blizzard
move 3: Psychic
move 4: Counter / Rest

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

Lovely Kiss is Jynx's best move, allowing it to likely disable one of the opponent's Pokemon (sentence felt incomplete, this is what I'm assuming you were trying to say) for most of the game. Blizzard and Psychic provide Jynx good coverage to hit the majority of the tier for solid damage, along with getting the STAB bonus for extra power. Blizzard has a chance to Freeze freeze an opponent. Psychic also has a chance to lower the opponent’s Special, helping Jynx deal a little bit more damage with subsequent attacks.(AP) ,(RC) as well as pressuring Chansey with Special drops.(this was already mentioned earlier, so it's just repetition and isn't needed) Counter allows Jynx to fire off massive damage after taking a Normal-type move, usually Body Slam from Tauros, Snorlax, or Mew. However, it is very prediction reliant, as Earthquake is found on all three of them, and can be used to avoid damage from Counter. Rest helps Jynx stall Chansey, eliminating an obstacle for your own Mewtwo, as well as increasing Jynx's overall longevity. One must be aware that many physical attackers or setup sweepers can take advantage of a sleeping Jynx, so Rest must be used carefully.

Light Screen Chansey is a premier teammate for Jynx, as it provides one of the tier’s best Mewtwo checks. Jynx can sometimes get an early game Freeze freeze before opposing Mewtwo's enter the field, removing your option of Freezing freezing opposing Mewtwo later on. Light Screen allows Chansey to not be get 3HKOd by maximum power Psychic, and Chansey can Paralyze paralyze Mewtwo with Thunder Wave. Another good option is Flash Chansey, to PP stall opposing Mewtwo if Jynx is running Rest. Jynx is both great with and against Explosion. Teammates with Explosion such as Gengar, Mew,(AC) and Exeggutor, or Snorlax with Self-Destruct, appreciate Jynx chipping the opposing team into their range. Against Explosion, Jynx should be used to absorb the move after it has inflicted both Sleep and Freeze on the opponent’s team. This prevents it from becoming setup fodder for Mewtwo and Slowbro, while also allowing a frailer teammate to come in for free. Jynx should also be used to absorb sleep, since most of its usefulness is gone after getting off a Sleep and Freeze. Jynx should also be used to absorb Explosion and sleep after it has inflicted statuses such as sleep and freeze, this is to prevent it from becoming setup fodder for Mewtwo and Slowbro.(Just tried to condense it)After Jynx has done its job, the Jynx player must be very careful to not let Amnesia Slowbro or Mewtwo set up on Jynx, as Jynx cannot do anything back and will let them run away with the game. (You mention this earlier as well as in the next paragraph as well and it isn't necessary to mention this multiple times, it would be better removed from here as it fits better in the next paragraph)

Teammates that can check opposing Mew are very helpful, as Mew can come in against Jynx and set up for free with Swords Dance. This weakness is even more pronounced if Jynx is using Rest. The best check to Mew is itself, as most Mew sets are good at checking other Mew. A special mention goes to Transform Mew, which is a very solid counter to opposing Swords Dance Mew's that as it can easily turn the opponent's strategy against them. Gengar is another good teammate that completely counters Mew's that only running Body Slam and forces it them out. Rhydon and Golem are other good checks to mono-Normal Mew, and can support Jynx by absorbing other Normal- and Electric-type attacks, both of which can be problematic for Jynx. Rhydon is stronger and bulkier than Golem and can help pressure the opposing team more immediately. However, both Jynx and Rhydon are somewhat slow for the Ubers metagame, and Amnesia users can use them as setup fodder. Golem, while weaker and frailer than Rhydon, is very slightly faster and can also use Explosion as a one-time nuke that can take out almost anything on the opposing team, as well as applying immense constant pressure.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Jynx’s last moveslot has a few options available to it. One option is Ice Beam, allowing it to have more PP on Freezing freezing moves and be more consistent at getting a Freeze freeze at some point throughout the game. Another option is Seismic Toss, which allows Jynx to try to pressure Slowbro and Mewtwo after Amnesia more effectively. A third possibility is Body Slam, allowing Jynx to attempt to spread Paralysis paralysis. However, the somewhat inconsistent Paralysis paralysis chance and Jynx’s very low attack Attack stat make Body Slam mostly not worth it. Yet another viable option is Seismic Toss, which lets Jynx deal consistent damage to certain threats its STABs cannot pressure, like Slowbro. However, it has very little use otherwise and is usually hard to find a slot for. Mimic is a gimmick that can allow Jynx to copy useful moves such as Recover, Thunder Wave, and Amnesia. However, this is very matchup- and luck-based, meaning it is unreliable. Jynx has the option of dropping Psychic to run two other moves and potentially catch something off guard, at the cost of not being able to pressure Chansey. An interesting option is running 7 DVs in Defense to make it so using Counter against Tauros after getting hit by a Body Slam will always OHKO Tauros from full health. However, this hurts Jynx's as it already somewhat lacking lacks longevity, and it can also be useless if the opponent is careful and uses Earthquake.(AP),(RC) which Counter cannot activate with.

Checks and Counters
===================
(remember to use ** for the titles of each of the Checks and Counters)
**Slowbro**: Slowbro sets up on Jynx, takes minimal damage from Psychic and Blizzard, can heal Seismic Toss damage, and doesn’t care about Body Slam Paralysis paralysis. However, Slowbro does fear a Freeze freeze. A Slowbro that is Asleep asleep from Rest can be chipped by Seismic Toss into the range of a teammate’s Explosion. Keep in mind that Slowbro with only Ice Beam must be at +6 to even 3HKO Jynx.

**Starmie**: While less common, Starmie walls Jynx's coverage all day and Recovers off the little damage it may take. It can also effectively absorb Jynx's Lovely Kiss. It can also and use Thunder Wave to cripple Jynx. However, Starmie can be forced out if Jynx's Psychic gets too many Special drops.

**Gengar**: Gengar is a very common lead, and it is faster and carries Hypnosis. Gengar can also use Explosion to OHKO Jynx, which can put Jynx's team at a big disadvantage if there is no backup sleeper. However, Hypnosis's chance to miss means Gengar does need to worry about possibly being put to sleep itself or taking big damage from Jynx's Psychic.

**Paralyzers**: Pokemon that can use Thunder Wave such as Mew, Jolteon, and Alakazam can severely cripple Jynx, as its main draw is its fast Lovely Kiss. After this option is removed, there is very little use to Jynx. Such Pokemon include Mew, Jolteon, and Alakazam.

**Chansey**: Chansey is very common and takes minimal damage from any of Jynx's moves, and forces it out with Seismic Toss. It can also put Jynx to sleep with Sing, or Paralyze paralyze it with Thunder Wave. However, Jynx can Freeze freeze Chansey while also dropping its Special, forcing it out. Also, if Chansey is using Ice Beam as its only attacking move, Jynx can wall it and use Rest to heal damage.

**Mewtwo**: Mewtwo sets up on Jynx as long as it does not get Frozen frozen. Mewtwo can also use Thunder Wave to cripple Jynx. However, Jynx has a chance to beat Mewtwo if it gets fully paralyzed for a few turns before it sets up, or if Jynx lands some critical hits.

**Tauros**: Lead Tauros versus Lead lead Jynx is a gamble for both sides. Tauros is able to fish for Body Slam Paralysis paralysis, a critical Body Slam to which can OHKO 66% of the time, or Stomp flinches. On the other hand, if Tauros fails to get any of those, Jynx can try to put it to sleep, use Counter, or do big damage with use Blizzard for heavy damage. However, Tauros can also use Earthquake on the first turn to avoid Counter and guarantee a KO with Hyper Beam on the next turn. Also, Tauros is able to come in later in the game and finish off a weakened Jynx with little issues.

Jynx should also be used to absorb Explosion and sleep after it has inflicted statuses such as sleep and freeze, this is to prevent it from becoming setup fodder for Mewtwo and Slowbro. After Jynx has done its job, the Jynx player must be very careful to not let Amnesia Slowbro or Mewtwo set up on Jynx, as Jynx cannot do anything back and will let them run away with the game. Jynx should be used to take Explosion or as a sleep fodder after it has inflicted its status effects to prevent Mewtwo and Slowbro from using it as setup fodder.

Teammates that can check opposing Mew are very helpful, as Mew can come in against Jynx and set up for free with Swords Dance.(RP) This weakness is even more pronounced if Jynx is using ,(AC) especially if Jynx has used Rest. The best check to Mew is Mew itself,(RC) as most Mew sets are good at checking other Mew. A special mention goes to Transform Mew, which is a very solid counter to opposing Swords Dance Mew's that ,(AC) as it can easily turn the opponent's strategy against them. Gengar is another good teammate that completely counters Mew's that only running Body Slam Mew and forces it them out. Rhydon and Golem are other good checks to mono-Normal Mew,(RC) and can support Jynx by absorbing other Normal- and Electric-type attacks, both of which can be problematic for Jynx.

Other Options
=============

Jynx’s last moveslot has a few options available to it. One option is Ice Beam, allowing it to have more PP on Freezing freezing moves and be more consistent at getting a Freeze freeze at some point throughout the game which has more PP and is sometimes more consistent at obtaining freezes than Blizzard. Another option is Seismic Toss, which allows Jynx to try to deal consistent damage and more effectively pressure threats it wouldn't otherwise be able to deal with,(AC) like Slowbro and Mewtwo after Amnesia. more effectively (moved this part here since it's still relevant to what Stoss does, I've combined & adjusted this part, since you basically mentioned slowbro twice as a threat that could be pressured by this move) A third possibility is Body Slam, allowing Jynx to attempt to spread Paralysis paralysis. Jynx has the option of dropping Psychic to run two other moves and potentially catch something off guard,(RC) at the cost of not being able to pressure Chansey. An interesting option is running 7 DVs in Defense to make it so using Counter against Tauros after getting hit by a Body Slam will always OHKO Tauros from full health OHKO Tauros with Counter after getting hit by Body Slam. However, this hurts Jynx's ,(AC) as it already somewhat lacking lacks longevity, and it can also be useless if the opponent is careful and uses Earthquake.(AP),(RC) which Counter cannot activate with.

Checks and Counters
===================
(remember to use ** ** for the titles of each of the Checks and Counters)
**Slowbro**: Slowbro sets up on Jynx, takes minimal damage from Psychic and Blizzard, can heal Seismic Toss damage, and doesn’t care about Body Slam Paralysis paralysis. However, Slowbro does fear a Freeze freeze. A Slowbro that is Asleep asleep from Rest can be chipped by Seismic Toss into the range of a teammate’s Explosion. Keep in mind that Slowbro with only Ice Beam must be at +6 to even 3HKO Jynx.

**Starmie**: While less common, Starmie always walls Jynx's coverage all day and Recovers off the little damage it may take. It can also effectively absorb Jynx's Lovely Kiss.(RP) It can also and use Thunder Wave to cripple Jynx. However, Starmie can be forced out if Jynx's Psychic gets too many Special drops.

**Gengar**: Gengar is a very common lead, and it is faster than Jynx,(AC) and carries Hypnosis.

**Chansey**: Chansey is very common and takes minimal damage from any of Jynx's moves,(RC) and forces it out with Seismic Toss. It can also put Jynx to sleep with Sing,(RC) or Paralyze paralyze it with Thunder Wave.

Tauros is able to fish for Body Slam Paralysis paralysis, a critical Body Slam to ,(AC) which can OHKO 66% of the time, or Stomp flinches.

[OVERVIEW]

Jynx is a good sleeper in the Ubers metagame, able to immediately pressure opposing teams with the fastest Lovely Kiss in the game. It has very powerful STAB moves in Blizzard and Psychic that give it good coverage to hit Rhydon, Exeggutor, and Zapdos for good damage,(RC) while pressuring Chansey with Special drops. Jynx has decent Speed and a decent Special stat to back up its Lovely Kiss and strong STAB moves and Lovely Kiss. Being an Ice-type even allows it to pivot into and wall Ice Beam Chansey, Mewtwo, and Slowbro before they set up with Amnesia.

However, Jynx has very low Defense, taking heavy damage from most physical attacks. Jynx is also It is slower than several notable Pokemon such as Tauros, Gengar, Zapdos, and Mew. Jynx can also end up as setup bait for Slowbro, Mew, and the dangerous Mewtwo after it has put something to sleep and gotten its Freeze freeze. For this reason, a Jynx the player must be very careful about how they use it after this has happened. freeze, requiring very careful use after landing both statuses. Overall, Jynx finds its role as a strong Sleep and Freeze inducing sleep- and freeze-inducing lead with a good matchups against standard Psychic-type leads.

Set Description
=========

Lovely Kiss is Jynx's best move, allowing it to likely disable one of the opponent's Pokemon for most of the game. Blizzard and Psychic provide Jynx with good coverage to hit the majority of the tier for solid damage. Psychic also has a chance to lower the opponent’s foe's Special, helping Jynx deal a little bit more damage with subsequent attacks. Counter allows Jynx to fire off massive damage after taking a Normal-type move, usually Body Slam from Tauros, Snorlax, or Mew. However, it is very prediction-reliant, as Earthquake is found on all three of them and can be used prediction reliant, as all three run Earthquake and can use it to avoid damage from Counter. Rest helps Jynx stall Chansey, eliminating an obstacle for your own Mewtwo, as well as increasing Jynx's overall longevity. One must be aware that many physical attackers or and setup sweepers can take advantage of a sleeping Jynx, so Rest must be used carefully.

Jynx sometimes gets an early-game freeze before it can try to freeze Mewtwo, so (I imagine this makes sense?) Light Screen Chansey is a premier teammate for Jynx, as it provides one of the tier’s best checks to Mewtwo. Jynx can sometimes get an early-game freeze before Mewtwo enters the field, removing your option of freezing it later on. Teammates with Explosion such as Gengar, Mew, (AC) and Exeggutor, or Snorlax with Self-Destruct, (AC) appreciate Jynx chipping the opposing team into their range. Also, Jynx should be used to take Explosion or as a sleep fodder after it has inflicted its status effects to prevent Mewtwo and Slowbro from using it as setup fodder.

Teammates that can check Mew are very helpful, as Mew can come in against Jynx and set up for free with Swords Dance, especially if Jynx has used Rest. The best check to Mew is Mew itself; (period -> semicolon) Transform Mew is a very solid counter to opposing Swords Dance Mew, as it can easily turn the opponent's strategy against them. Gengar is another good teammate that completely counters mono-Body Slam Mew and forces it out. Rhydon and Golem are other good checks to mono-Normal Mew and can support Jynx by absorbing other Normal- and Electric-type attacks, both of which can be problematic for Jynx it. Rhydon is stronger and bulkier than Golem and can help pressure the opposing team more immediately. However, both Jynx and Rhydon are somewhat slow for the Ubers metagame, and Amnesia users can use them as setup fodder. Golem, while weaker and frailer than Rhydon, is slightly faster and can also use has Explosion as a one-time nuke, (AC) that which can take out almost anything on the opposing team (RC) as well as applying and applies (if what I said doesn't make sense, could you clarify how Golem applies immense constant pressure) immense constant pressure.
