[OVERVIEW]

Kadabra is one of ZeroUsed's best revenge killers thanks largely to its high Special Attack and great Speed tier, while its access to Calm Mind also gives it the ability to become a frightening wallbreaker. It also has an amazing ability in Magic Guard that not only allow it to stop most defensive Pokemon, but also hold Focus Sash without worrying about it being broken by entry hazards and hold Life Orb without being worn down by the item's recoil. Focus Sash Kadabra can also utilize Counter to survive one hit and deal massive damage to physically offensive Pokemon. However, Kadabra's poor bulk and bad defensive typing are easily exploited by Pokemon such as Pinsir, Pawniard, and Silvally-Dark, especially if Kadabra does not hold a Focus Sash. While Kadabra's base 105 Speed is good, it is still outpaced and revenge killed by common Choice Scarf users such as Swanna, Pinsir, and Shiftry, as well as priority move users such as Electivire, Shiftry, and Metang. Focus Sash variants of Kadabra also have issues breaking through specially defensive Pokemon such as Bronzong and Lickilicky and Assault Vest users such as Kecleon and Komala. Life Orb Kadabra is also extremely vulnerable to being Pursuit trapped by the likes of Silvally-Dark.

Moves
========

Dazzling Gleam hurts Dark-type Pokemon such as Shiftry, Silvally-Dark, and Pawniard that attempt to switch into Kadabra. In conjunction with Magic Guard and Focus Sash, Counter is used to check Pokemon that think they can take down Kadabra by attacking it on its pitiful Defense stat, especially Pursuit trappers such as Choice Band Bouffalant, Pawniard, and Silvally-Dark. Taunt gives Kadabra an edge against defensive Pokemon by preventing them from laying entry hazards, recovering their health, or using status moves like Thunder Wave. Shadow Ball can be used instead of Taunt to nail Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime.

Set Details
========

Focus Sash allows Kadabra to take at least one attack before it goes down, which aids it in its revenge killing role. This is especially vital against setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Bouffalant, Curse Muk, and Raichu. Magic Guard makes Kadabra immune to residual damage, allowing it to preserve its Focus Sash.

Usage Tips
========

Kadabra is primarily used as a revenge killer, so making sure its Focus Sash is intact when it needs to be is vital. This includes scenarios where Kadabra must revenge kill setup sweepers such as Muk, Bouffalant, and Combusken. Against physical sweepers such as Curse Muk and Swords Dance Bouffalant, Kadabra can easily go for Counter to deal significant damage to them. Kadabra can also be used to check frail special attackers such as Raichu and Simisear if it does not need to use Counter during the match. Avoid bringing Kadabra in on any direct attack, as not only are its defenses very poor, but doing so will also break Kadabra's Focus Sash. Counter is a great move to go for if a physical attack is anticipated and Kadabra's Focus Sash is intact, since it is almost guaranteed to KO the opposing Pokemon thanks to Kadabra's poor Defense. Kadabra can also use Counter against Pursuit trappers such as Pawniard and Bouffalant. Thanks to Magic Guard making it immune to Toxic, Kadabra can come in against passive foes such as Bronzor, Pyukumuku, and Mareanie and stop these Pokemon from recovering HP or using other status moves with Taunt. Keep in mind that moves like Psywave and Scald from these Pokemon can still break Kadabra's Focus Sash, however.

Team Options
========

Kadabra is primarily seen on more offensive teams because it can keep setup sweepers in check. Pokemon like Silvally-Ghost, Mr. Mime, and Misdreavus appreciate Kadabra's ability to potentially lure in Pursuit trappers and KO them with Counter. Pairing Kadabra with Pokemon such as Silvally-Fighting, Rapidash, and Combusken is ideal because Kadabra cannot really dent Steel-type Pokemon. Kadabra, in return, can check Fighting- and Fire-type switch-ins such as Mareanie and Silvally-Poison for them. Pivots such as Electivire, Komala, and Silvally-Ghost can bring Kadabra in safely, allowing it to keep its Focus Sash intact. Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Probopass, and Pinsir make for ideal partners, as they ensure that Kadabra has an easier time revenge killing opposing Pokemon. In addition, these Pokemon have coverage moves that allow them to hurt the Steel-type Pokemon that Kadabra cannot touch. Probopass in particular can trap Steel-type Pokemon and easily dispatch of them with Earth Power.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Calm Mind boosts Kadabra's Special Attack, allowing it to break through teams much more easily. Psychic is Kadabra's strongest STAB move and allows it to beat Pokemon like Pyukumuku, while Psyshock targets specially defensive Pokemon like Muk, Lickilicky, and Assault Vest users such as Kecleon and Komala. Shadow Ball hits Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime. Signal Beam is the preferred coverage move because of its ability to hit Grass-types such as Tangela as well as Dark-types, which gives Kadabra an easier time breaking down defensive cores. Dazzling Gleam is an alternative option that still hits Dark-types as well as Dragon-types like Altaria and Silvally-Dragon. Hidden Power Fighting can be used instead to OHKO Pawniard; however, this option leaves Kadabra countered by Vullaby.

Set Details
========

Magic Guard and Life Orb give Kadabra a power boost without recoil. Magic Guard also allows Kadabra to bluff a Focus Sash set; this can come in handy against bulkier Pokemon, especially after Kadabra has boosted with Calm Mind. For example, +1 Shadow Ball can 2HKO Bronzor and OHKO Gourgeist-XL, while +1 Psychic can 2HKO Lickilicky after Stealth Rock damage.

Usage Tips
========

This Kadabra set can break walls easily but capitalizes on prediction. It is best to bring Kadabra in with the help of a slow pivoting move or with an aggressive double switch. Kadabra can come in on passive Pokemon such as Altaria, Bronzong, and Pyukumuku as well as weakened offensive Pokemon that it can outspeed and revenge kill, such as Pinsir and Silvally-Fighting. Once Kadabra is in play, it should try to dish out damage or attempt to boost its power with Calm Mind on a forced switch. While it is a risky play, Kadabra can try to bluff a Focus Sash set; to do this, bring Kadabra in on an enemy that would be afraid of Counter such as Bouffalant, Assault Vest Kecleon, or Swords Dance Abomasnow. The opponent might fall for the bluff and switch out their Pokemon. From there, Kadabra can attempt to boost with Calm Mind or go for an attack to net a surprise KO. Kadabra must not be brought in on any offensive move because of how frail it is.

Team Options
========

This Kadabra set is best used on offensive teams with partners that can reliably deal with setup sweepers. Choice Scarf users such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna are good teammates, since they often outpace these Pokemon and can revenge kill them. Combusken can also help revenge kill setup sweepers by boosting its Speed with Speed Boost and taking them out with powerful Z-Moves. Because this Kadabra set doesn't run Focus Sash, teammates that can reliably threaten Dark-type Pokemon that run Sucker Punch or Pursuit such as Combusken, Silvally-Fighting, and Machoke are greatly appreciated. Partners that can deal with Steel-types such as Rapidash, Combusken, and Silvally-Fighting are needed. Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Crustle, and Armaldo help Kadabra to take down foes. Probopass deserves a special mention because it can trap Steel-types with Magnet Pull and proceed to take them out. Slow pivots such as Komala, Silvally-Ghost, and Probopass can bring Kadabra safely into battle. Pokemon such as special Combusken, Raichu, and Simipour appreciate Kadabra's ability to soften special walls if it is running Psyshock. Likewise, physical sweepers like Swords Dance Abomasnow, Bulk Up Floatzel, and Kecleon love Kadabra's ability to threaten physical walls if it is running Psychic.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Fighting can be used on the Focus Sash set to OHKO Pawniard after it uses Sucker Punch. However, Counter also accomplishes this and is a better option in general. Encore can be used to hinder Pokemon that attempt to set up on Kadabra and defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky; however, Taunt is generally more useful. Substitute on the Life Orb set allows Kadabra to take hits safely, avoid status moves like Thunder Wave, and safely set up Calm Mind boosts. However, Substitute cuts into Kadabra's HP, shortening its already poor longevity, and takes up a moveslot that Kadabra cannot afford to give up. Thunder Wave can be used over Taunt on the Focus Sash set as a method to slow down faster Pokemon that Kadabra cannot OHKO like Floatzel, making them easier for another teammate to revenge kill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: While Kadabra does have a good Speed tier, it is still susceptible to being revenge killed by faster threats such as Floatzel, Zebstrika, and Dugtrio. Choice Scarf users such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna can also outpace Kadabra and revenge kill it. However, all of these Pokemon do need to be cautious if Kadabra still has its Focus Sash intact.

**Priority Moves**: Life Orb Kadabra falls prey to priority moves such as Floatzel's Aqua Jet, Muk's Shadow Sneak, and Abomasnow's Ice Shard. Sucker Punch is Life Orb Kadabra's biggest weakness, especially from users such as Kecleon, Pawniard, and Shiftry. These Pokemon aren't as big of an issue if Kadabra is holding Focus Sash, though, as it can easily revenge kill them in return.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Focus Sash Kadabra cannot really hurt specially defensive Pokemon such as Bronzor, Lickilicky, and Assault Vest Kecleon. Lickilicky is immune to Taunt thanks to Oblivious and can proceed to pass Wishes to its teammates or potentially paralyze Kadabra with Body Slam. Assault Vest Bouffalant can also Pursuit trap Kadabra. However, Life Orb Kadabra can do hefty damage to them at +1.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: If Kadabra is not holding a Focus Sash, Dark-type Pokemon can be an issue for it. Shiftry and Pawniard can reliably KO Kadabra with Sucker Punch, and Silvally-Dark can Pursuit trap it. Vullaby completely walls Kadabra if it is not running Dazzling Gleam.

Hey I know this is in WIP but QC decided the LO set should be included as well, just don't want you to write this all up only to have to add a full set.

The funny thing is I just finished writing it. No worries, I'll write up the Life Orb set in a bit. Also, I want to add art to this later.

Moves

  • Psychic is Kadabra's strongest STAB, which hits Pokemon such as Mareanie, Machoke, and Monferno very hard. Fluff, isn't needed here.
  • Taunt shuts down defensive Pokemon such as Bronzor, Altaria, and Pyukumuku by preventing them from recovering or using more passive moves.
  • Shadow Ball can be used instead of Taunt to nail other Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime.
  • Dazzling Gleam hurts Dark-type Pokemon such as Shiftry, Murkrow, and Pawniard that attempt to switch into Kadabra.
  • In conjunction with Magic Guard, Counter is used to check Pokemon that think they can take down Kadabra by attacking it from its pitiful Defense stat, especially Pursuit trappers such as Choice Band Bouffalant, Pawniard, and Murkrow
Set Details
========
  • A Timid Nature with maximum Special Attack and Speed makes Kadabra as strong and fast as possible. Fluff.
  • Focus Sash allows Kadabra to take one attack before it goes down, which aids in its revenge killing role. This is especially vital against set up sweepers. Would give an example or two.
  • Magic Guard is an amazing ability that makes Kadabra immune to residual damage from Stealth Rock and Toxic, allowing it to preserve its Focus Sash.
Explaining an ability is usually unnecessary information, but I think in this case it should removed from here and put into usage tips given you explain how it affects Kadabra's play.

Usage Tips
========
  • Kadabra is used as a revenge killer, so making sure its Focus Sash is still intact is vital.
  • Avoid bringing Kadabra in on any direct attack because not only are Kadabra's defenses very poor, but doing so breaks Kadabra's Focus Sash.
  • Counter is a great move to go for if a physical attack from the opponent is anticipated because it is almost a guaranteed KO thanks to Kadabra's poor Defense. Kadabra can also use Counter against Pursuit trappers such as Pawniard or Murkrow.
  • Kadabra can also come in against more passive opponents such as Bronzor, Pyukumuku, or Mareanie thanks to Magic Guard making it immune to Toxic's residual damages and because attacks from these Pokemon are relatively weak. Kadabra can also proceed to stop these Pokemon from recovering or using a move like Stealth Rock or Toxic with Taunt.
  • Kadabra can also revenge kill set up sweepers such as Muk, Bouffalant, and Combusken by survivng one hit with Focus Sash, then preceding to use its moves to revenge kill them. In the case of physical sweepers such as Curse Muk or Swords Dance Bouffalant, Kadabra can easily go for counter to deal significant damage to them. Move this to after the second point. Flows better.
I'd also explain that Kadabra can be used to revenge kill more frail special attackers as well if it does not need to use Counter.

Team Options
========
  • Kadabra is primarily seen on more offensive teams because it can keep set up sweepers in check and have the power to KO them in return.
  • Pokemon like Silvally-Ghost, Mr. Mime, or Misdreavus appreciate Kadabra's ability to potentially revenge kill Pursuit trappers with Counter.
  • Pairing Kadabra with Pokemon such as Silvally-Fighting, Rapidash, or Combusken is ideal because Kadabra cannot really dent Steel-type Pokemon. Kadabra, in return, can check Fighting- or Fire-type resists such as Mareanie, Silvally-Water, and Silvally-Poison for them.
  • Pivots such as Electivire, Komala, or Silvally-Ghost can bring Kadabra in safely, allowing it to keep its Focus Sash.
  • Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Probopass, and Pinsir make ideal partners to ensure that Kadabra can have an easier time revenge killing the opponent. In addition, these Pokemon have coverage moves that allow them to hurt the Steel-type Pokemon that Kadabra cannot even touch. Probopass, in particular, can trap Steel-type Pokemon and can easily dispatch of them with Earth Power or Hidden Power Fire. Not used.
[SET]

move 4: Taunt Calm Mind

evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

QC team decided on those set changes. Psychic is overall better than Psyshock for the damage output and beating things like Pyukumuku. Signal Beam is preferred coverage over Dazzling Gleam because of its ability to hit Grass-types such as Tangela as well as Dark-types, so it has an easier time breaking down defensive backbones. Dazzling Gleam is stronger and can hit Altaria/Silv-Dragon though. Calm Mind over Taunt because it allows Kadabra to break much better.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Psyshock is the main STAB of this set so that Kadabra can target specially defensive Pokemon like Muk, Lickilicky, or Assault Vest users. Specifically mention AV Kecleon and Komala.
  • Shadow Ball is a great coverage move that hits opposing Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime.
  • Dazzling Gleam hurts Dark-type Pokemon that attempt to switch into Kadabra. Adjust accordingly with set changes.
  • Hidden Power Fighting can be used instead to OHKO Pawniard. This option leaves it countered by Vullaby. HP Fighting should only be used on Sash since Pawniard can kill with Sucker Punch. Probo is not relevant enough to warrant it either. a
  • Taunt gives Kadabra an edge against more defensive Pokemon by preventing them from laying out entry hazards, recover their health, or use status moves like Thunder Wave against Kadabra. Replace with CM.
Set Details
========
  • A Timid Nature and maximum Special Attack and Speed give Kadabra the power and speed it needs to revenge kill opponents. Fluff
  • Magic Guard and Life Orb combined give Kadabra a power boost without recoil.
Usage Tips
========
  • Similar to the Focus Sash set, Kadabra must not be brought in on any offensive move because of how frail it is.
  • It is best to bring Kadabra in on a defensive Pokemon that uses a passive move such as Defog, Toxic, or Stealth Rock, or it can come into battle with the help of a pivot. Would reword the latter half since Kadabra actually can't come in on things like Silvally formes or Golem because it just dies. Give specific examples instead (i.e Altaria).
  • Once Kadabra is in play, it should try to dish out damage or use Taunt against a defensive Pokemon to keep it from recovering it's HP. Adjust this point with CM.
  • This is a risky play, but try to bluff a Focus Sash by bringing it in on a Pokemon that has boosted it's stats. From there, the opponent will switch out and Kadabra can try to net a surprise KO. Wouldn't encourage this. Instead, say that it "can" since Kadabra never really wants to check faster threats.
Section needs to be beefed up. Talk about how LO Kadabra can actually break through things more easily and capitalizes on prediction that much more. Mention that it should be brought in off of slow pivots or aggressive doubles.

Team Options
========
  • This Kadabra is best used on offensive teams with partners that can reliably deal with set up sweepers. Ideally, Pokemon with priority moves such as Kecleon, Floatzel, or Abomasnow and Choice Scarf users such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna are good ways to deal with these Pokemon. Combusken can also help by boosting it's Speed with Speed Boost and taking out opponent's with powerful Z-moves. I get what you mean, but this point should emphasize faster revenge killers rather than priority users since they're generally more effective at beating setup sweepers.
  • Because this Kadabra isn't running Focus Sash, Pokemon that can reliably threaten Dark-type Pokemon that run Sucker Punch or Pursuit such as Combusken, Silvally-Silvally-Fighting or Machoke are greatly appreciated.
  • If Kadabra is not running Hidden Power Fighting, then partners that can deal with Steel-types such as Rapidash, Combusken, or Silvally-Fighting are needed. Adjust this point since HP Fighting was removed.
  • Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Crustle, or Armaldo help Kadabra take down foes. Probopass deserves a special mention because it can trap Steel-types with Magnet Pull and proceed to take them out.
  • Pivots such as Chatot, Komala, Silvally-Ghost, or Probopass can bring Kadabra safely into battle.
Mention Pokemon that appreciate Kadabra's ability to break.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Calm Mind seems appealing because it can turn Kadabra into a sweeper. However, Kadabra is too frail to find set up opportunities, even with a Focus Sash. Adjust this point by saying HP Fighting should only be used on Sash since it can't usually beat Pawniard without Sash.
  • Encore can also be used to trap Pokemon that set up on Kadabra and can also stop defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky. However, Taunt is generally more useful.
  • Signal Beam is an interesting option to help Kadabra deal with opposing Psychic-types such as Grumpig or Mr. Mime. However, Shadow Ball is a far better option because it allows Kadabra to not be walled by Bronzor. Can remove this point as a result of the set changes.
  • Substitute also allows Kadabra to take one hit safely and gives it an immunity to Thunder Wave, but Substitute uses HP, breaking Focus Sash. Would only use Sub on LO so touch up the wording.
  • Thunder Wave can be used as a method of speed control for faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf users, making them easier for Kadabra to revenge kill. Mention that it's used over Counter or Taunt on the sash set.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: While Kadabra does sit on a good Speed tier, it is still prone to being revenge killed by faster threats such as Floatzel, Zebstrika, and Dugtrio. Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Shiftry can also outpace Kadabra and revenge kill it, especially if Kadabra's Focus Sash has been broken. Kadabra also falls prey to priority moves such as Floatzel's Aqua Jet, Muk's Shadow Sneak, or Abomasnow's Ice Shard. Sucker Punch is Life Orb Kadabra's biggest weakness, especially from users such as Kecleon, Pawniard, and Murkow. All of these Pokemon do need to be cautious if Kadabra still has its Focus Sash intact. Priority moves should be its own new point.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Focus Sash Kadabra cannot really hurt specially defensive Pokemon such as Bronzor, Lickilicky, or Assault Vest Kecleon. Lickilicky is immune to Taunt thanks to Oblivious and can proceed to pass Wishes to its teammates or potentially paralyze it with Body Slam. Assualt Vest Bouffalant can also Pursuit trap Kadabra. Adjust to LO CM.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: If Kadabra is not running Focus Sash or Dazzling Gleam, then Dark-type Pokemon can be an issue. Shifty and Pawniard can reliably KO Kadabra with Sucker Punch and Murkrow can Pursuit trap it. Vullaby completely walls Kadabra if it is not running Dazzling Gleam.

**Super Effective Attacks**: Kadabra is preyed upon by Pokemon such as Pinsir, Shiftry, or Pawniard that use super effective moves that target its weaker defense, especially if Focus Sash has been broken. These Pokemon are easily taken care of with Counter if Kadabra's Focus Sash is still intact and none of them want to switch in on Life Orb Kadabra's moves. This point should be removed as it's very broad. The examples can be merged under the different sections.

Overview
  • Kadabra also has some really good coverage moves and access to Calm Mind, which make it a very scary breaker.
  • Don't mention Floatzel in priority users because Floatzel is faster. Shiftry is a better example.
  • Mention getting Pursuit trapped being bad, especially for LO set. Sash can counterplay it with Counter
Set: Focus Sash
  • Move Taunt / Shadow Ball to move 4. In general, if a move isn't required (slashed), it's as low as possible. So new move order is
move 1: Psychic
move 2: Dazzling Gleam
move 3: Counter
move 4: Taunt / Shadow Ball

Moves
  • Switch around move order here.
  • Give examples of defensive Pokemon Taunt works against (mainly Bronzor but you can name some others too)
  • Counter doesn't really work with Magic Guard, moreso with Sash
Usage Tips
  • Specify its Sash being in tact when it needs it being vital, not just in general. After all, it needs to get popped at some point.
  • The Magic Guard line doesn't fit here. Remove it or move it to Set Details.
  • Bouffalant is a better Pursuit trapper than Murkrow.
  • In the last line, mention that moves like Psywave and Scald from these passive Pokemon can still break its Sash, which isn't great in some situations.
Team Options
  • Kadabra isn't the first Pokemon I think of when I think of Silvally-Water checks, so remove its mention.
Set: Life Orb
  • Again, change move order. Don't move Psychic / Psyshock to the bottom though, do this:
move 1: Calm Mind
move 2: Psychic / Psyshock
move 3: Shadow Ball
move 4: Signal Beam / Dazzling Gleam

Set Details
  • Mention some calcs where LO helps (+1 Shadow Ball vs Bronzor, +1 Psychic vs Lickilicky, +1 Shadow Ball vs Gourgeist-XL, etc).
Usage Tips
  • Kadabra can definitely come in on some offensive Pokemon that it outspeeds and kills, like a chipped Pinsir or Silvally-Fighting.
Other Options
  • HP Fighting is useless on Sash because Counter does the job and more.
  • Substitute also takes a moveslot Kadabra really doesn't have.
Checks and Counters

  • LO Kadabra excels at taking down Bronzor and Lickilicky actually, even if it runs Psychic, because +1 SBall 2HKOes Bronzor and +1 Psychic almost does the same to Lickilicky, meaning it only needs one more Calm Mind on a predicted WishTect to beat it. Neither of them can OHKO it back unless Licklicky is Knock Off, which isn't common. Focus Sash Kadabra, however, can't do shit to them.

I'm not a QC member, however, I think the best nature for Focus Sash set is Hasty with 0 IVs in Defense to be brought more easily to 1 HP by physical moves, the 4 remaining EVs should be put in HP to deal 2 more HP with Counter, and it should have 31 IVs in Atk to take more damages from Foul Play (tho it's not that usefull since you are still OHKOed with 0 IVs).
See:
0 Atk Vullaby Foul Play vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kadabra: 144-170 (65.1 - 76.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Vullaby Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0- Def Kadabra: 372-440 (167.5 - 198.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Should note, QC agreed this wasn't worthwile as it is honestly most likely more worth it to take certain weaker hits w/o Sash than it is to be brought down to 0 HP. Vullaby is dropping down to Counter anyway, and not getting 2HKOed by Gourgeist-XL's (non-STAB) Foul Play is worth more.

[OVERVIEW]

Kadabra is one of ZeroUsed's best revenge killers thanks largely to its high Special Attack and great Speed tier. Kadabra has access to Calm Mind to become a firghtening wallbreaker. It also has access to Taunt and an amazing ability in Magic Guard to not only allow it to stop most defensive Pokemon, but also hold Focus Sash without worrying about it being broken by entry hazards or hold Life Orb without being worn down by the item's recoil. Focus Sash Kadabra can also utilize Counter to survive one hit and deal massive damage to physically offensive Pokemon. However, Kadabra's poor defenses and bad defensive type are easily exploited by Pokemon on such as Pinsir, Pawniard, and Murkrow, especially if Kadabra does not hold a Focus Sash. Remove Murkrow as an example, it isnt very relevant. While Kadabra's base 105 Speed is good, it is still outpaced and revenge killed by common Choice Scarf users such as Swanna, Pinsir, and Shiftry, as well as priority from Pokemon such as Shiftry, Abomasnow, and Metang. Shiftry isnt really that common as a scarfer, just say electivire instead. Focus Sash variants of Kadabra also have issues breaking specially defensive Pokemon such as Bronzong and Lickilicky and Assault Vest users such as Kecleon and Komala. Life Orb Kadabra is also extremely vulnerable to being Pursuit trapped by the likes of Silvally-Dark.

Dazzling Gleam hurts Dark-type Pokemon such as Shiftry, Murkrow, and Pawniard that attempt to switch into Kadabra. In conjunction with Magic Guard, Counter, with Focus Sash, is used to check Pokemon that think they can take down Kadabra by attacking it from its pitiful Defense stat, especially Pursuit trappers such as Choice Band Bouffalant, Pawniard, and Murkrow. Taunt gives Kadabra an edge against more defensive Pokemon by preventing them from laying out entry hazards, recover their health, or use status moves like Thunder Wave against Kadabra. Shadow Ball can be used instead of Taunt to nail other Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime.

Focus Sash allows Kadabra to take one attack before it goes down, which aids in its revenge killing role. This is especially vital against set up
sweepers such as Swords Dance Bouffalant, Curse Muk, or Raichu. Magic Guard is an amazing ability that makes Kadabra immune to residual damage from Stealth Rock and Toxic, allowing it to preserve its Focus Sash.

Usage Tips
========

Kadabra is used as a revenge killer, so making sure its Focus Sash is still intact when it needs it is vital. Kadabra can also revenge kill set up sweepers such as Muk, Bouffalant, and Combusken by survivng one hit with Focus Sash, then preceding to use its moves to revenge kill them. In the case of physical sweepers such as Curse Muk or Swords Dance Bouffalant, Kadabra can easily go for counter to deal significant damage to them. Kadabra can also check frail special attackers such as Raichu or Simisear if it does not need to use Counter. Avoid bringing Kadabra in on any direct attack because not only are Kadabra's defenses very poor, but doing so breaks Kadabra's Focus Sash. Counter is a great move to go for if a physical attack from the opponent is anticipated because it is almost a guaranteed KO thanks to Kadabra's poor Defense. Kadabra can also use Counter against Pursuit trappers such as Pawniard or Bouffalant. Kadabra can also come in against more passive opponents such as Bronzor, Pyukumuku, or Mareanie thanks to Magic Guard making it immune to Toxic's residual damages and because attacks from these Pokemon are relatively weak. Kadabra can also proceed to stop these Pokemon from recovering or using a move like Stealth Rock or Toxic with Taunt. Keep in mind that moves like Psywave and Scald from these passive Pokemon can still break its Sash, which isn't great in some situations.

Team Options
========

Kadabra is primarily seen on more offensive teams because it can keep set up sweepers in check and have the power to KO them in return. Pokemon like Silvally-Ghost, Mr. Mime, or Misdreavus appreciate Kadabra's ability to potentially revenge kill Pursuit trappers with Counter. Pairing Kadabra with Pokemon such as Silvally-Fighting, Rapidash, or Combusken is ideal because Kadabra cannot really dent Steel-type Pokemon. Kadabra, in return, can check Fighting- or Fire-type resists such as Mareanie and Silvally-Poison for them. Pivots such as Electivire, Komala, or Silvally-Ghost can bring Kadabra in safely, allowing it to keep its Focus Sash. Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Probopass, and Pinsir make ideal partners to ensure that Kadabra can have an easier time revenge killing the opponent. In addition, these Pokemon have coverage moves that allow them to hurt the Steel-type Pokemon that Kadabra cannot even touch. Probopass, in particular, can trap Steel-type Pokemon and can easily dispatch of them with Earth Power.

Calm Mind boosts Kadabra's offenses, allowing it to break teams much easier. Psychic is Kadabra's strongest STAB and allows it to beat Pokemon like Pyukumuku, while Psyshock can target specially defensive Pokemon like Muk, Lickilicky, or Assault Vest users such as Kecleon or Komala. Shadow Ball is a great coverage move that hits opposing Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime. Signal Beam is the next preferred coverage move because of its ability to hit Grass-types such as Tangela as well as Dark-types, so it has an easier time breaking down defensive cores. Dazzling Gleam is an alternative option to hit Dark-types, as well as Dragon-types like Altaria and Silvally-Dragon. Hidden Power Fighting can be used instead to OHKO Pawniard. This option leaves it countered by Vullaby.

Set Details
========

Magic Guard and Life Orb combined give Kadabra a power boost without recoil. Also mention that the lack of recoil allows Kadabra to bluff the Focus Sash set. This comes in handy against bulkier Pokemon, especially when Kadabra boosts with Calm Mind. For example, +1 Shadow Ball can 2HKO Bronzor and 1HKO Gourgeist-XL, while +1 Psychic can 2HKO Lickilicky after Stealth Rock.

Usage Tips
========

This Kadabra can break walls much easier and capitalizes on prediction. It is best to bring Kadabra in with the help of a pivot or an aggressive double switch. Kadabra can come in on more passive Pokemon such as Altaria, Bronzong, or Pyukumuku, as well as chipped offensive Pokemon that it can outspeed and revenge kill, such as Pinsir or Silvally-Fighting. Once Kadabra is in play, it should try to dish out damage or attempt to boost its power with Calm Mind since it often forces switches. This is a risky play, but Kadabra can try to bluff a Focus Sash. To do this, try to bring Kadabra in on an opponent that would be afraid of Counter such as Bouffalant, Assault Vest Kecleon, or Swords Dance Abomasnow. The foe might fall for it and attempt to switch their Pokemon. From there, Kadabra can attempt to boost with Calm Mind or go for an attack to net a surprise KO. Kadabra must not be brought in on any offensive move because of how frail it is.

Team Options
========

This Kadabra is best used on offensive teams with partners that can reliably deal with set up sweepers. Ideally, Choice Scarf users such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna are good ways to deal with these Pokemon since they often outpace these Pokemon and proceed to revenge kill them. Combusken can also help by boosting it's Speed with Speed Boost and taking out opponent's with powerful Z-moves. Because this Kadabra isn't running Focus Sash, Pokemon that can reliably threaten Dark-type Pokemon that run Sucker Punch or Pursuit such as Combusken, Silvally-Silvally-Fighting or Machoke are greatly appreciated. Partners that can deal with Steel-types such as Rapidash, Combusken, or Silvally-Fighting are needed. Offensive entry hazard setters such as Golem, Crustle, or Armaldo help Kadabra take down foes. Probopass deserves a special mention because it can trap Steel-types with Magnet Pull and proceed to take them out. Pivots such as Chatot, Komala, Silvally-Ghost, or Probopass can bring Kadabra safely into battle. Remove chatot as an example and instead say slow pivots. Pokemon such as special attacking Combusken, Raichu, and Simipour appreciate Kadabra's ability to soften special walls with Psyshock. Likewise, physical sweepers such as Swords Dance Abomasnow, Bulk Up Floatzel, or Kecleon love that Kadabra can threaten physical walls with Psychic.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Fighting can also be used on the Focus Sash set to OHKO Pawniard after a Sucker Punch. However, Counter also accomplishes this and more. Encore can also be used to trap Pokemon that set up on Kadabra and can also stop defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky. However, Taunt is generally more useful. Substitute on the Life Orb set also allows Kadabra to take one hit safely, gives it an immunity to Thunder Wave, and allows Kadabra to safely Calm Mind. However, Substitute cuts into Kadabra's HP, shortening its already short longevity, and it takes up a moveslot Kadabra cannot afford. Thunder Wave can be used over Taunt or Counter on the Focus Sash set as a method of speed control for faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf users, making them easier for Kadabra to revenge kill. its more so for faster stuff that Kadabra can't OHKO like Floatzel, so you slow it down for a teammate to revenge kill it. reword this accordingly

Checks and Counters
===================

Swanna over Shiftry as a scarf user All of these Pokemon do need to be cautious if Kadabra still has its Focus Sash intact.

**Priority Moves**: Life Orb Kadabra also falls prey to priority moves such as Floatzel's Aqua Jet, Muk's Shadow Sneak, or Abomasnow's Ice Shard. Sucker Punch is Life Orb Kadabra's biggest weakness, especially from users such as Kecleon, Pawniard, and Murkow. These Pokemon aren't as big of an issuue with Focus Sash, as Kadabra can easily revenge kill them in return. remove murkrow mention

However, Life Orb Kadabra can set up on these Pokemon and do hefty damage to them at +1. it doesnt set up on kecleon or bouffalant.

Replace Murkrow with Silvally-Dark as a pursuit trapper example.

Overall, well written. A few phrases were repeated a bit too much especially towards the end, and I noticed sentances seemed to tilt from being too short to being too long. It might be good to go through and break some of the longer ones into two shorter ones, and to add a bit more meat on the shorter sentences. Again though, a well written analysis!

Dazzling Gleam is an alternative option to hit Dark-types, as well as Dragon-types like Altaria and Silvally-Dragon. Hidden Power Fighting can be used instead to OHKO Pawniard. However, this option leaves it countered by Vullaby.

Magic Guard and Life Orb combined give Kadabra a power boost without recoil, which also allows Kadabra to bluff its Focus Sash set.

Usage Tips
========

========

Combusken can also help by boosting it's Speed with Speed Boost and taking out opponents with powerful Z-moves. Slow pivots such as Komala, Silvally-Ghost, or Probopass can bring Kadabra safely into battle. Pokemon such as special attacking Combusken, Raichu, and Simipour appreciate Kadabra's ability to soften special walls with Psyshock. Likewise, physical sweepers including (About the fourth time you used "such as" this paragraph)Swords Dance Abomasnow, Bulk Up Floatzel, or Kecleon love that Kadabra can threaten physical walls with Psychic.

Other Options

Hidden Power Fighting can also be used on the Focus Sash set to OHKO Pawniard after a Sucker Punch. However, Counter also accomplishes this and more. Encore can also be used to trap Pokemon that set up on Kadabra and can also stop defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky, however, Taunt is generally more useful. Substitute on the Life Orb set also allows Kadabra to take one hit safely, gives it an immunity to Thunder Wave, and allows Kadabra to safely Calm Mind. Consider however, that Substitute cuts into Kadabra's HP, shortening its already lacking longevity, and it takes up a moveslot Kadabra cannot afford. Thunder Wave can be used over Taunt on the Focus Sash set as a method to slow down faster Pokemon that Kadabra cannot OHKO like Floatzel, making them easier for another teammate to revenge kill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: While Kadabra does sit on a good Speed tier, it is still prone to being revenge killed by faster threats such as Floatzel, Zebstrika, and Dugtrio. Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna can also outpace Kadabra and revenge kill it, especially if Kadabra's Focus Sash has been broken. Despite this, all of these Pokemon do need to be cautious if Kadabra still has its Focus Sash intact.

**Priority Moves**: Life Orb Kadabra also falls prey to priority moves such as Floatzel's Aqua Jet, Muk's Shadow Sneak, or Abomasnow's Ice Shard. Sucker Punch is Life Orb Kadabra's biggest weakness, especially from users such as Kecleon, Pawniard, and Shiftry. These Pokemon aren't as big of an issue with Focus Sash though, as Kadabra can easily revenge kill them in return.

However, Life Orb Kadabra can do hefty damage to them at +1.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: If Kadabra is not running Focus Sash or Dazzling Gleam, then Dark-type Pokemon can be an issue. Shifty and Pawniard can reliably KO Kadabra with Sucker Punch and Silvally-Dark can Pursuit trap it. Vullaby completely walls Kadabra if it is not running Dazzling Gleam, thus it should be taken into consideration when using Kadabra.

Thanks, my man. I'm sorry, I've been on the road when you wrote this but I think I implemented everything.

Mime.

Kadabra is used as a revenge killer, so making sure its Focus Sash is still intact when it needs it is vital. In the case of physical sweepers such as Curse Muk or Swords Dance Bouffalant, Kadabra can easily go for cCounter to deal significant damage to them. Kadabra can also check frail special attackers such as Raichu or Simisear if it does not need to use Counter. Avoid bringing Kadabra in on any direct attack because not only are Kadabra's defenses very poor, RC but doing so breaks Kadabra's Focus Sash.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: While Kadabra does sit on a good Speed tier, it is still prone susceptible to being revenge killed by faster threats such as Floatzel, Zebstrika, and Dugtrio.

These Pokemon aren't as big of an issue with Focus Sash, (AC) though, as Kadabra can easily revenge kill them in return.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Focus Sash Kadabra cannot really hurt specially defensive Pokemon such as Bronzor, Lickilicky, or and Assault Vest Kecleon. Lickilicky is immune to Taunt thanks to Oblivious and can proceed to pass Wishes to its teammates or potentially paralyze it Kadabra with Body Slam. Assault Vest Bouffalant can also Pursuit trap Kadabra. However, Life Orb Kadabra can do hefty damage to them at +1.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: If Kadabra is not running Focus Sash or Dazzling Gleam, then Dark-type Pokemon can be an issue. Shifty and Pawniard can reliably KO Kadabra with Sucker Punch, (AC) and Silvally-Dark can Pursuit trap it. Vullaby completely walls Kadabra if it is not running Dazzling Gleam, thus it should be taken into consideration when using Kadabra.

Hidden Power Fighting can be used on the Focus Sash set to OHKO Pawniard after a it uses Sucker Punch. However, Counter also accomplishes this, (AC) and more. Encore can also be used to trap hinder (i think "trap" should only be used in the sense of pursuit trapping, stag trapping, etc) Pokemon that attempt to set up on Kadabra and can also stop defensive Pokemon such as Lickilicky; however, Taunt is generally more useful. Substitute on the Life Orb set also allows Kadabra to take one hits safely (subjective: i would change this to "scout for switches from the opponent"), gives it an immunity to avoid status moves like Thunder Wave, and allows it to safely set up Calm Mind boosts. Consider, However, that Substitute cuts into Kadabra's HP, shortening its already lacking longevity, and takes up a moveslot that Kadabra cannot afford to give up. Thunder Wave can be used over Taunt on the Focus Sash set as a method to slow down faster Pokemon that Kadabra cannot OHKO like Floatzel, making them easier for another teammate to revenge kill.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: While Kadabra does sit on have a good Speed tier, it is still susceptible to being revenge killed by faster threats such as Floatzel, Zebstrika, and Dugtrio. Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna can also outpace Kadabra and revenge kill it, especially if Kadabra's Focus Sash has been broken (repetition). Despite this However, all of these Pokemon do need to be cautious if Kadabra still has its Focus Sash intact.

**Priority Moves**: Life Orb Kadabra falls prey to priority moves such as Floatzel's Aqua Jet, Muk's Shadow Sneak, or and Abomasnow's Ice Shard. Sucker Punch is Life Orb Kadabra's biggest weakness, especially from users such as Kecleon, Pawniard, and Shiftry. These Pokemon aren't as big of an issue with if Kadabra is holding Focus Sash, though, as Kadabra it can easily revenge kill them in return.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: If Kadabra is not running holding a Focus Sash or Dazzling Gleam (even if it runs dgleam you still face the sucker 50/50, no?), Dark-type Pokemon can be an issue for it. Shiftry (typo) and Pawniard can reliably KO Kadabra with Sucker Punch, and Silvally-Dark can Pursuit trap it. Vullaby completely walls Kadabra if it is not running Dazzling Gleam.

Taunt gives Kadabra an edge against defensive Pokemon by preventing them from laying entry hazards, recovering their health, or using status moves like Thunder Wave against Kadabra. Shadow Ball can be used instead of Taunt to nail Psychic-type Pokemon like Bronzor, Grumpig, and Mr. Mime.

Set Details
========

Focus Sash allows Kadabra to take at least one attack before it goes down, which aids it in its revenge killing role. This is especially vital against setup sweepers such as Swords Dance Bouffalant, Curse Muk, and Raichu. Magic Guard makes Kadabra immune to residual damage from entry hazards and status conditions, allowing it to preserve its Focus Sash.

Usage Tips
========

Kadabra is primarily used as a revenge killer, so making sure its Focus Sash is intact when it needs to be is vital. This includes scenarios where Kadabra must revenge kill setup sweepers such as Muk, Bouffalant, and Combusken. In the case of physical sweepers such as Curse Muk and Swords Dance Bouffalant, Kadabra can easily go for Counter to deal significant damage to them. Kadabra can also be used to check frail special attackers such as Raichu and Simisear if it does not need Counter. Avoid bringing Kadabra in on any direct attack, because not only are its defenses very poor, but doing so will also break Kadabra's Focus Sash. Counter is a great move to go for if a physical attack from the foe is anticipated and Kadabra's Focus Sash is intact, because it is almost guaranteed to KO the opposing Pokemon thanks to Kadabra's poor Defense. Kadabra can also use Counter against Pursuit trappers such as Pawniard and Bouffalant. Thanks to Magic Guard making it immune to Toxic, Kadabra can come in against passive foes such as Bronzor, Pyukumuku, and Mareanie and stop these Pokemon from recovering or using other status moves with Taunt. Keep in mind that moves like Psywave and Scald from these Pokemon can still break Kadabra's Focus Sash, which isn't great in some situations.

Team Options
========

Kadabra is primarily seen on more offensive teams because it can keep setup sweepers in check. Pokemon like Silvally-Ghost, Mr. Mime, and Misdreavus appreciate Kadabra's ability to potentially lure in and KO Pursuit trappers with Counter. Probopass, in particular, can trap Steel-type Pokemon and easily dispatch of them with Earth Power.

Calm Mind boosts Kadabra's offenses, allowing it to break through teams much more easily.

Set Details
========

Magic Guard and Life Orb give Kadabra a power boost without recoil. Magic Guard also allows Kadabra to bluff its Focus Sash set; this can come in handy against bulkier Pokemon, especially after Kadabra has boosted with Calm Mind. For example, +1 Shadow Ball can 2HKO Bronzor and OHKO Gourgeist-XL, while +1 Psychic can 2HKO Lickilicky after Stealth Rock damage.

Usage Tips
========

This Kadabra set can break walls much more easily but capitalizes on prediction. It is best to bring Kadabra in with the help of a pivot or with an aggressive double switch.

========

This Kadabra set is best used on offensive teams with partners that can reliably deal with setup sweepers. Choice Scarf users such as Electivire, Pinsir, and Swanna are good ways to deal with these Pokemon, since they often outpace these Pokemon and can revenge kill them. Combusken can also help revenge kill setup sweepers by boosting its Speed with Speed Boost and taking them out with powerful Z-Moves. Because this Kadabra set isn't running Focus Sash, teammates that can reliably threaten Dark-type Pokemon that run Sucker Punch or Pursuit such as Combusken, Silvally-Fighting, and Machoke are greatly appreciated.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

========

Other Options
=============

===================
