Synthesis Kartana is a reliable check to dangerous Ground-types in National Dex, most notably Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Kartana can opt to fulfill this niche in two different ways: Swords Dance allows it to use these Ground-types as setup bait and function as a resilient setup sweeper due to Synthesis, whereas Defog shuts down any progress these Ground-types may hope to make with Stealth Rock. As a Defogger, Kartana also has a positive matchup against Ferrothorn and Hippowdon. Knock Off gives Kartana a way to cripple the likes of Zapdos, Corviknight, Heatran, and Ferrothorn. 120 Attack EVs allow Kartana to OHKO Garchomp with Bloom Doom. The remaining EVs are poured into HP in order to avoid the 2HKO from Clefable's Moonblast and Tangrowth's Hidden Power Ice. Kartana appreciates trapping support from Weavile and Magnezone, which eases its matchup against Mega Latios, Mega Latias, Mega Scizor, and Corviknight. Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Clefable can check revenge killers such as Ash-Greninja, Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Latios, making them good teammates as well.

I think you gloss over a pretty important fact here. Swords Dance Kartana often struggles with being worn down over time, which Synthesis mitigates. That is absolutely worth noting in my opinion. As a Defogger, Kartana also has a positive matchup against Ferrothorn, Hippowdon, and Mega Tyranitar lacking Fire Punch. Knock Off rounds out both variants, giving Kartana a way to punish checks such as Zapdos, Corviknight, and Volcarona. You should definitely mention that Pokemon like Heatran and Ferrothorn are still crippled by Knock Off; the lack of Sacred Sword often stands out to people so explaining this in the spotlight itself is pretty important in my opinion. 120 Attack EVs allow Kartana to OHKO Garchomp with Bloom Doom. The remaining EVs are poured into HP in order to take on the aforementioned Ground-types more reliably, as well as avoid the 2HKO from Clefable's Moonblast. With the HP investment, Kartana is also never 2HKOed by Hidden Power Ice from Tangrowth. As a result, it can use it as setup bait, albeit in trade for a good amount of Synthesis' PP. Kartana appreciates trapping support from Mega Tyranitar, Weavile, and Magnezone, which eases its matchup against Mega Latios, Mega Latias, Mega Scizor, and Corviknight. It's worth noting that Mega Tyranitar is often undesireable due to hampering Synthesis' recovery. Whether this makes Mega Tyranitar as a whole still worth mentioning or not, I'll leave to you. Pokemon such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Clefable can check revenge killers such as Ash-Greninja, Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Latios, making them good teammates as well.
