Keldeo UU (QC 2/3)

:ss/keldeo:

[OVERVIEW]

Keldeo is one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, thanks to its STAB moves, coverage, and sheer power, being able to OHKO or 2HKO the majority of the metagame, including defensive staples like Chansey, Celesteela, and Buzzwole. Its speed tier allows it to outspeed some key threats, like Thundurus-T, Nihilego, and Krookodile, and Its type combination and solid natural bulk allow it to switch into the field without the need of a pivoting move like U-turn or Volt Switch when necessary. Some of the Pokemon it can come into are Scizor, Jirachi, and Crawdaunt. Keldeo suffers from being very prediction reliant, since there are some very common pokemon like Amoonguss and bulky Salamence that can handle its STAB moves, but crumble against Keldeo's coverage like Air Slash and Icy Wind, and even if its one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, Keldeo is very challenged to break or even unable to do so if facing foes like Assault Vest Tangrowth, Primarina, or the rare Mantine, and also faces competition with Primarina as a wallbreaker, since it is able to use Moonblast without needing to predict a switch in because of how much damage it deals even when resisted, but because of its poor speed and Physical Defense it is not as common as Keldeo. While Keldeo's speed tier is good, it can still be outsped and revenge killed by threats like Thundurus and Raikou. Keldeo is one of the few special attackers able to beat Chansey without any support, giving it an edge over powerful breakers like Thundurus-T and Chandelure

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
Hydro Pump is the Water-type STAB of choice since it can perform feats such as 2HKOing offensive Salamence most of the time, and OHKOing most Scizor variants. Secret Sword gives Keldeo an easier time when facing specially bulky pokemon like Primarina and Chansey. Air Slash does a considerably higher amount of damage to Amoonguss than Icy Wind, making it harder for Amoonguss to regenerate Keldeo's attacks off, while Icy Wind allows Keldeo to OHKO pokemon like Noivern and Salamence, while functioning as a midground when theres a combination of one of these 2 and Amoonguss on the opposing team. Surf gives Keldeo a 100% accuracy Water-type STAB while also keeping enough power to OHKO most neutral targets, like offensive Scizor after Stealth Rocks. Flip Turn allows Keldeo to pivot out of Pokemon it struggles to break, like Assault Vest Tangrowth or bulky Primarina, and bring a partner able to handle these foes like Nihilego, and Toxic is used to cripple some of Keldeo's counters like the aforementioned Assault Vest Tangrowth, Assault Vest Reuniclus, and Mantine as they switch in. Choice Specs is the item of choice since without it, Keldeo lacks the power to actually break through most defensive cores.

Paragraph 2
Keldeo fits best on offensive teams that appreciate Keldeo's speed tier over other breakers like Choice Specs Primarina and Chandelure. Pokemon that can pivot on foes Keldeo can defeat, or Pokemon that can just pivot at all are great partners, like Scizor U-turning on Buzzwole, Moltres and Salamence, and Rotom-H Volt Switching out of Chansey and Nihilego, and Pokemon that can take advantage of foes like Amoonguss and bulky Primarina that wall Keldeo like Nihilego or Nidoqueen are also good partners. Additionally, these 2 can set up Stealth Rocks or Toxic Spikes to weaken Keldeo's checks. Mew is a great partner, weakening Keldeo's checks further with Spikes, Knocking Off their Heavy-Duty Boots if they have them, taking hits from foes trying to KO Keldeo like Salamence and Amoonguss, and threatening them with Ice Beam and Psychic respectively. A Pokemon that can take on offensive threats that outspeed Keldeo, namely Lycanroc-D, Choice Scarf Zarude and Thundurus, like Tangrowth is also appreciated, and also Pokemon that take advantage of Assault Vest users like Galarian Slowbro and Reuniclus, namely Krookodile and Aegislash.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
Calm Mind gives Keldeo the power boost it needs without locking it into a move, and it also boosts its SpD, giving it a better matchup vs Amoonguss and even Thundurus if needed. Scald is the water STAB of choice to attempt to burn Keldeo's checks like Tangrowth and Amoonguss, crippling them and potentially weakening them into range of one of Keldeo's attacks, and Air Slash allows Keldeo to beat Amoonguss, Kommo-o and Tapu Bulu more easily after a Calm Mind. Substitute is used to avoid status like Amoonguss' Spore and Aegislash's Toxic, and eases prediction. Leftovers gives Keldeo enough longevity to set up feasibly in most games, and also the longevity to do it multiple times if necessary, healing entry hazards damage off. Life Orb and Expert Belt can be used in really offensive teams for a power boost that allows Keldeo to OHKO Amoonguss with Air Slash after Stealth Rock damage and a Calm Mind, but they heavily reduce Keldeo's survivability and are unusable outside of these very offensive teams

Paragraph 2
This Keldeo set fits on offense and balance teams, that appreciate having a wincon that can also outspeed threats like Nihilego and Thundurus-T. Keldeo can get heavily damaged breaking through the opponent's counterplay, like beating an Amoonguss 1 on 1, so Healing Wish from Jirachi can help it clean up a team after it has broken through. Additionally, Choice Scarf Jirachi can get Keldeo in via U-turn, and remove checks like Thundurus and Salamence with Ice Punch. Pokemon that can also pivot out like Scizor and Thundurus make for great partners, especially since they can cripple Keldeo's checks like Tangrowth and Primarina by knocking them off and threatening them out. Pokemon that can take hits from Keldeo's counters like Starmie and bulky Primarina and potentially cripple them back, like Chansey and Assault Vest Tangrowth. Steel-types like Scizor and Celesteela can switch into and threaten out Tangrowth, Amoonguss, and Fairy-types like Sylveon and Primarina, while appreciating Keldeo removing Fire-types like Rotom-H and Chandelure

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A Choice Scarf set allows Keldeo to outspeed and revenge kill threats like Lycanroc-D, +1 speed Salamence, and +2 speed Celesteela, but is mostly unable to make any progress versus more balanced teams other than Flip Turn into another teammate

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth can scout the move Keldeo locks into, and regenerate most of the damage off right after, but Amoonguss has to watch out for Air Slash, and Tangrowth has to watch out for Toxic.

**Water-types**: Primarina can easily take any Keldeo attack, and heal most of the damage off by either using Rest or Draining Kiss, Gyarados and Azumarill can use Keldeo as a setup opportunity after Keldeo KOs one of their teammates, and bulky Starmie can take any hit, Recover it off, outspeed, and deal massive damage with Psyshock

**Faster Pokemon**: Thundurus, Lycanroc-D, Azelf and Noivern are able to outspeed and revenge kill Keldeo, forcing it out and also limiting Keldeo's chances to come in

[OVERVIEW]

-Keldeo is one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, thanks to its STAB moves, coverage, and sheer power, being able to OHKO or 2HKO the majority of the metagame
-Keldeo's speed tier allows it to outspeed some key threats, like Thundurus-Therian, Nihilego, and Krookodile
-Its type combination and solid natural bulk allow it to switch into the field without the need of a pivoting move like U-Tturn or Volt Switch when necessary. Some of the pPokemon it can come into are Scizor, Nihilego, and Crawdaunt I wouldn't call it that great of a Nihi pivot when Sludge 2HKOs and it commonly carries Tbolt or Gknot in the last slot.
-Keldeo resists the everpresent Stealth Rocks, meaning it has an easier time staying healthy than other powerful breakers like Choice Specs Primarina, and Choice Specs Chandelure

-Keldeo suffers from being very prediction reliant, since there are some very common pokemon like Amoonguss and bulky Salamence that can handle its STAB moves, but crumble against Keldeo's coverage
-Even if its one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, Keldeo is very challenged to break or even unable to do so if facing foes like Assault Vest Tangrowth, Primarina, or the rare Mantine

Worth mentioning some Pokemon that are naturally faster and can revenge kill it

Paragraph 1
-Hydro Pump is the Water-Ttype STAB of choice since it can perform feats such as 2HKOing offensive Salamence most of the time, and OHKOing most Scizor variants.
-Secret Sword gives Keldeo an easier time when facing specially bulky pokemon like Primarina and Chansey and also a 100% accuracy move to use comfortably, unlike Focus Blast.
-Icy Wind allows Keldeo to OHKO pokemon like Noivern and Salamence, while functioning as a midground when theres a combination of one of these 2 and Amoonguss on the opposing team.
-Air Slash does a considerably higher amount of damage to Amoonguss than Icy Wind, making it harder for Amoonguss to regenerate Keldeo's attacks off. Swap Air Slash and Icy Wind descriptions around to match set order

Add a line about Surf. Went and found a calc you can include, guarantees the OHKO on offensive Scizor after rocks without risk of Hydro miss.

-Flip Turn allows Keldeo to pivot out of pPokemon it is unable struggles to break, like a healthy Assault Vest Tangrowth or a healthy bulky Primarina, and bring a partner able to handle these foes like Nihilego.

Add a small line about Toxic being used on the forced switches to cripple its checks

-Choice Specs is the item of choice since without it, Keldeo lacks the power to actually break through most defensive cores.

Paragraph 2
-Keldeo fits best on offensive teams that appreciate Keldeo's speed tier over other breakers like Choice Specs Primarina and Choice Specs Chandelure.
-Pokemon that can lure and pivot on foes Keldeo can defeat, or pokemon that can just pivot at all are great partners, like Scizor luring in Buzzwole, Moltres and Salamence. The point of a lure is you bring in a standard check and cripple/remove it in some way. Scizor luring in Buzzwole with a potential Wingbeat doesn't assist Keldeo. Just keep the point solely about pivots that can bring it in safely with U-turn and Volt Switch so rework this point.
-Pokemon that can take advantage of foes that wall Keldeo What are these Pokemon that wall Keldeo like Nihilego or Nidoqueen are also good partners, allowing Keldeo to break even when running into a bad matchup. Mention how they can set hazards to weaken its checks too.
-Future Sight Mew is a great partner, since with Future Sight Keldeo can bypass common counters in Amoonguss and non Rest Primarina, weaken these counters with Spikes, and give Keldeo free entry with Teleport. This isn't a common enough set to get a mention. Mew isn't getting a FS or Teleport set so remove these mentions. Just follow off from the previous point with this being another hazards setter that supports Keldeo. It's also a great check to stuff like Salamence
-A pokemon that can take on offensive threats that outspeed Keldeo, namely Lycanroc-Dusk and Thundurus, like Tangrowth.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
-Calm Mind gives Keldeo the power boost it needs without locking it into a move, and it also boosts its SpDef, giving it a better matchup vs Amoonguss and even Thundurus if needed. However, the turn required to set it up can put Keldeo at a disadvantage against Power Whip Tangrowth and Primarina.
-Scald is the water STAB of choice since the turn required to set up means Hydro Pump's inmediate power is not as necessary as Scald's capability to cripple Keldeo's checks with a burn You don't need to bring up Hydro. Just say Scald lets it punish its checks early game to potentially bring them into range later after a Calm Mind boost.
-Substitute is used to avoid status like Amoonguss' Spore and Aegislash's Toxic, and also scouts which foe is switching into it.
-Air Slash allows Keldeo to beat Amoonguss, Kommo-o and Tapu Bulu more easily after a Calm Mind while remaining healthy. Swap Air Slash and Sub mention here to match the set.
-Leftovers gives Keldeo enough longevity to set up feasibly in most games, and also the longevity to do it multiple times if necessary

Add a line on Life Orb and Expert Belt here on more offensively inclined teams. You can give an example of them letting Keldeo have a high chance of breaking through Amoonguss after SR and a Calm Mind boost.

Paragraph 2
-This Keldeo set fits on more offense and balance balanced teams, that appreciate having a wincon that can also outspeed threats like Nihilego and Thundurus-Therian
-Keldeo can get heavily damaged breaking through the opponent's counterplay, so Healing Wish from Jirachi can help it clean up a team after it has broken through. Can you be a bit more detailed here. For instance, specify it has to trade vs Amoonguss to beat it 1on1 or force it out. Then you can lead into Jirachi giving HW support. I would also add how Scarf Jirachi can bring it in safely with U-turn and potentially remove Thundurus and Salamence with Ice Punch.
-Bulky pokemon that can also pivot out like Scizor and Cobalion Thundurus make for great partners, since a defensive backbone is preferred over offensive pivoting with this Keldeo set This isn't entirely true, just expand on how Thundurus can bring Keldeo in vs Ground-types with U-turn, pressure Primarina, and remove Assault Vest from Tangrowth making it easier for Keldeo to break through it.
-Pokemon that can lure and cripple Keldeo's checks like Toxic Krookodile or Substitute + Toxic Moltres, freeing up the path for a Keldeo lategame sweep

-Pokemon that can take hits from Keldeo's counters and potentially cripple them back, like Assault Vest Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth Just specifically talk about Starmie and bulky Primarina here because they are the main common nuisances to this set that these Grass-types pivot into

Bring up some Steel-types like Celesteela and Scizor as they help cover Amoong/Tang and check Fairy-types like Sylveon and Primarina.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass and Water-Types**: Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth can scout the move Keldeo locks into, and regenerate most of the damage off right after, but they will crumble if Keldeo manages to get in enough times. Primarina can switch into any move and either Calm Mind up, or use Draining Kiss to heal off most of Keldeo's damage. Gyarados can use Keldeo as a setup opportunity after Keldeo KOs one of Gyarados's teammates Move Water-types into its own point. Don't clump them together

**Faster Pokemon**:Thundurus, Lycanroc-Dusk, Azelf and Noivern are able to outspeed and revenge kill Keldeo with Thunderbolt, Psychic Fangs, Psychic and Hurricane respectively, forcing it out and also limiting Keldeo's chances to come in

**Bulky Psychic-Types** Mew can survive a Hydro Pump and either Knock Off Keldeo's Choice Specs or deal masssive damage with Psychic, Hatterene can easily 1v1 Keldeo if it gets a Calm Mind off before Keldeo comes in, using Draining Kiss to heal most of the damage off, and Assault Vest Galarian Slowbro can scout the move Keldeo locks into, and also can deal massive damage with Psyshock if necessary
None of these Psychic-types are really hard checks to Keldeo and none mentioned here are faster. Stuff like Starmie and Azelf can just be tied in to your other points.

Some of the Pokemon it can come into are Scizor, Jirachi, and Crawdaunt. I want a mention of its CM set here since its not talked about at all, mention how its a potent win condition that can power through stall teams as well as break Pokemon like Aegislash easier. (this is one long ass sentence bro, break it up a bit. One sentence should be how it can be taken advantage of being choice locked by threats like amoonguss, salamence, or galarian slowbro, though they former two need to watch out for coverage. second sentence should be about how it struggles to break prim and AV tang, both common in the metagame, while keeping mantine as well. The third and last part should be the competition it faces from primarina) While Keldeo's speed tier is good, it can still be outsped and revenge killed by threats like Thundurus and Raikou. Keldeo is one of the few special attackers able to beat Chansey without any support, giving it an edge over powerful breakers like Thundurus-T and Chandelure (move this right after the first sentence to have it flow better with pros, then cons)

Air Slash nails Grass-types like Amoonguss and Tapu Bulu. does a considerably higher amount of damage to Amoonguss than Icy Wind, making it harder for Amoonguss to regenerate Keldeo's attacks off, while Icy Wind allows Keldeo to OHKO pokemon like Noivern and Salamence, while functioning as a midground for the Grass-types. when theres a combination of one of these 2 and Amoonguss on the opposing team. Surf gives Keldeo a 100% accuracy Water-type STAB while also keeping enough power to OHKO most neutral targets, like offensive Scizor after Stealth Rocks. Flip Turn allows Keldeo to pivot out of Pokemon it struggles to break, like Assault Vest Tangrowth or RestTalk bulky Primarina, and bring a partner able to handle these foes like Nihilego, and Toxic is used to cripple some of Keldeo's counters like the aforementioned Assault Vest Tangrowth, Assault Vest Reuniclus, and Mantine as they switch in.

Pivots like Scizor and Rotom-H are great partners for Keldeo, being able to bring it on foes it can easily defeat. Pokemon that can pivot on foes Keldeo can defeat, or Pokemon that can just pivot at all are great partners, like Scizor can bring Keldeo in U-turning on Buzzwole, Moltres and Salamence, and Rotom-H can bring it in on Volt Switching out of Chansey and Nihilego. and Pokemon that can take advantage of foes like Amoonguss and bulky Primarina that wall Keldeo like Nihilego or Nidoqueen are also good partners. Additionally, these 2 can set up Stealth Rocks or Toxic Spikes (t spikes are ass not worth mentioning) to weaken Keldeo's checks. (like? Give examples of checks rocks weaken). Mew is a great partner, weakening Keldeo's checks (like?) further with Spikes, Knocking Off their Heavy-Duty Boots if they have them, taking hits from foes trying to KO Keldeo like Salamence and Amoonguss, and threatening them with Ice Beam and Psychic respectively. A Pokemon that can take on offensive threats that outspeed Keldeo, namely Lycanroc-D, Choice Scarf Zarude and Thundurus, like Tangrowth is also appreciated. Scald is the water STAB of choice to attempt to burn Keldeo's checks like Tangrowth and Amoonguss, crippling them and potentially weakening them into range of one of Keldeo's attacks. talk about secret sword and how it hits water resists like rotom-w and gastro . lso mention how it breaks chansey. and Air Slash allows Keldeo to beat Amoonguss, Kommo-o and Tapu Bulu more easily after a Calm Mind.

Paragraph 2
This Keldeo set fits on offense and balance teams, that appreciate having a wincon that can also outspeed threats like Nihilego and Thundurus-T. talk about how it can set up on passive foes (give examples ofc) and tear through bulkier teams. Keldeo can get heavily damaged breaking through the opponent's counterplay, like beating an Amoonguss 1 on 1, so Healing Wish from Jirachi can help it clean up a team after it has broken through. Additionally, Choice Scarf Jirachi can get Keldeo in via U-turn on Pokémon like Buzzwole, and remove checks like Thundurus and Salamence with Ice Punch.

=============

===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth can scout the move Keldeo locks into, and regenerate most of the damage off right after, but Amoonguss has to watch out for Air Slash, and Tangrowth has to watch out for Toxic. talk about choice scarf zarude and how it can easily revenge kill Keldeo

**Water-types**: Primarina can easily take any Keldeo attack, and heal most of the damage off by either using Rest or Draining Kiss (id specify that prim should have investment in physical defense since secret sword can 2HKO specs versions with some chip) Gyarados and Azumarill can use Keldeo as a setup opportunity after Keldeo KOs one of their teammates, and bulky Starmie can take any hit, Recover it off, outspeed, and deal massive damage with Psyshock. though rare, I'd like a mention of mantine here, its keldeo's biggest counter and rising in viability, so it should be mentioned

**Faster Pokemon**: Thundurus, Lycanroc-D, Azelf and Noivern are able to outspeed and revenge kill Keldeo, forcing it out and also limiting Keldeo's chances to come in

I'd like a second look at this once the check is implemented, tag me here or on discord when ready. One thing I've noticed is that you have large run-on sentences, try to break them up for easier readability.
