z-worry seed gives you +1 Spe which patches up Snivy's average Speed, letting it KO Staryu without fearing an Ice Beam. HP Ice hits other Grass-types. Glare can paralyze stuff that Mudbray is outsped by, allowing it to get the upper hand. Once Mudbray's checks have been eliminated it can come in safely enough.

Z-Moves based on status moves are enhanced versions of the original moves, having a Z- prefixed to the start of the status move's name. While they have the effects of the original status move, the user also receives the effect of Z-Power (Japanese: ZパワーZ-Power), which is executed before the move itself. For example, Z-Splash also boosts the user's Attack by 3 stages, while Z-Parting Shot also restores the switch-in ally's HP by 100%. These effects are not affected by Contrary, Simple, or Heal Block.

So this can actually work

Lol didn't see Rowan already posted Ponyta, but for those interrested, here is another take on Pony that I think fit slightly better (Although almost same fucking idea)

What counters Mudbray? Grass types. Pumpkaboo, Snivy, heck even Chespin is semi-viable due to it's sick bulk. What checks Mudbray? Water types, Ice types and strong special attackers in general. How do we deal with all of these?

- Sunny Day / Flame Charge / Hypnosis / Will-O-Wisp

Hardcounters Pumpkaboo, Snivy (Glare is annoying, but that shit annoys everything), Chespin (Rock Slide can be a problem but Pony bulky and Chespin aint). It can also switch in on annoying ice moves from ice types. It's speedtier is also amazing, outspeeding 90% of the meta.

"But Fille, a Fire type can't switch in on a water type!!" True. What Ponyta does though, is BAIT water types. Of course, Z Sunny day allows it to outspeed everything, but ppl see sunny Day and immidiately switch out their water type again. Boom, trap gone. Grassium Z Solar Beam tho ... That shit hits hard af, and hits any incoming water type.

Water/Poison types (Skrelp/Mareanie/Tentacool) still 1v1 this Ponyta, however, neither of those are able to tank an EQ from basically any Mudbray, and Tentacool is the only one that can possibly outspeed (Unless scarf Mudbray). Dewpider(Mudbray get's Rock Slide smfh Fille) is a hardcounter to this sweet little Mudbray/Ponyta core, and Abra can be a bitch (Chance to OHKO Pony with Psychic and speedties while at most being brought down to sash, hits Mudbray hard with Energy Ball.) Corphish / Shellder are also not baited out by Ponyta, fearing the Will-O-Wisp. Both are able to set up on Mudbray.

Sunny Day is probably the most reasonable option, weakening water type moves, boosting Morning Sun/Fire Blast and giving Solar Beam no charge time, but Flame Charge can be used for speed/Diglett/Abra?, while Hypnosis is a risky but fun option for ... Abra? WoW is just great yk and makesit easier to abuse Stamina for Mudbray.

Synergy-wise, these 2 Ponies obviously both share that sweet Water Weakness. That problem is, however, solved with the offensive presence of both. Pony switches in on Grass/Ice type moves (And pokemons) that Mudbray struggles with, while Mudbray hardcounters most of the Rock types in the tier that Pony struggles with, and a bulkier set can switch in on the remaining Ground types that Pony does not like. Z-Solar Beam obviously deals with random slower Ground/Rock types, but manny of these carries Sturdy, which makes it a bit harder again for Pony to deal with them. Mudbray does not give a fuck.

  • Pokemon must act as a hard or soft check to Nasty Plot Vullaby.
  • Pokemon must act as a hard or soft check to RestTalk Mudbray.
  • Pokemon must hard check at least one of the given Pokemon.
  • For the purposes of this assignment, a soft check is a Pokemon which can, when brought in against a resisted coverage move or otherwise unharmed, force out or revenge KO the opposing Pokemon.
  • For the purposes of this assignment, a hard check is a Pokemon which can reliably switch into and force out or KO the threat at least once without the threat of being KOd.

Comes in on Nasty Plot or air slash, tanks, and Whirlwinds. If it comes in on Air Slash then that be weak af and you can BB/KO then Roost up until he nasty Plots. Once he Plots you Whirlwind.

This is assuming there is no boost from before. Vullaby with -1 def already is most likely so much down on hp that a brave bird can kill, at least we can hope so. If NPVullaby is unboosted however, it's probably better to just go into some faster Special Attacker. Making this Vull special tho is also an option that would be beneficial to hinder a NPVullaby sweep late game, and also to keep hitting mudbray for decent damage, but BB's 120 BP is almost mandatory when running no attack/sp.atk EVs.

Lemme do mantyke finally and get this on the road. Unfortunately I am not using the dawn agility set due to Vulla doing too much and bray ohkoing with rock slide after rocks. However Mantyke is such a positive pokemon it does not care and will still wreck house. Time for some calcs to show
