I also do spriting and all that fun crap. :/

Anywho, since this is my initial post in my first art thread here, I'll lay it easy and only post some pokeart I made.

The first batch of pictures here I made are just new evolutions/preevolutions to previously existing pokemon.

This first pic is an evolution to Jynx named Voodear. She's a Psychic/Ghost type.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/VooDear.png

This next guy is an evo to one of my favorite 4th gen pokemon, Abomasnow. Now Abom may be amazingly cool enough, but this new evo just makes him cooler. His name is Yetalanche, and he's Ice/Fighting.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/Yetalanche.png

These last two were lumped in the same picture together, so they can learn to share. ;] The picture consists of a Pinsir evolution named Cruscor, and a Lapras preevolution named Loness.

Cruscor is Bug/Ground (unexpected ftw) and Loness is just Water.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/News.png

This next picture is what I like to call a "hybrid". I don't consider it a fusion by common terms mostly for the fact that it ain't an amalgamation of random pokemon body parts sewed together and recolored. :/
Why I'm considering hybrids to be different is because it more or less is a new creature with traits from the two original pokemon.

For example, a Pikachu and Medicham fusion might have medi's body colored yellow with pikachu ears and tail. A Hybrid of the two would be a tallish creature with yellowish skin with some short, rabbit like ears and several red electrical pouches across the body. There would also be some well developed limbs to exeute some unique fighting moves.

Just a generic example, but let me try to show you what I mean in picture form.

This is a Lugia and Garchomp Hybrid, named Luchomp.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/LugiChomp.png
Hopefully this helps explain my point a bit, as I've tried doing the best I can with words alone. :/

I've been trying to CG these pics for a bit too. I've abandoned that project after awhile due to me uncaring for a bit, but this is what I managed to do with Yetalanche thus far:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Yetalanche1copy.png

I'm open for color ideas with these guys if anyone wants to lend their palette expertises. At the moment, I only have general ideas of what their grand color schemes are like. :)

And the last of my pokemon art, is a picture of my favorite pokemon, Mamoswine. Behold his majestic glory:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Mamoswine.png

I was originally going to make this in a blizzard-like scene, but decided to stick with just the body for now. Although, this pose transposed in a hailing scene would be bad ass and you know it. :)

Also, these are some of my non-pokemon works of art:

Main Character in a Castlevania fan game I was going to create awhile ago, Julia Belmont/Belmondo:

Boss enemy design for that same game, Charybdis. For those that played Symphony of the Night, this is Scylla's counterpart. (Warning, contains boobies!)
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/spit_image.php.png

For those Megaman fans out there, this is my version of PirateMan made into Navi form. Say hello to PirateMan.EXE!
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/piratemanexeth3.png

More Megaman stuff, this is a picture of the LifeVirus from the Battle Network game, he was the final boss in the first game. This is a dark corrupted version of him known as the AkumuVirus:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/DeathVirusPic.png

This is yet another Megaman themed picture. It's a two headed dragon modeled after Gospel and Greiga, two more final bosses in battle network games:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/GrespelDragon.png

Ok, I really don't know what the fuck this thing is. All I know is that I drew it shortly after playing Resident Evil, you can clearly see some clues hinting to that, no?
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/Haunting.png

Here's some links to the art in my photobucket account:

Lol, garbage from when I really sucked. :P

So, um yeah, discuss and be as harsh in critique as you feel. I only ask you don't be an ass. :/

Enjoy!

Pretty cool. I liked the "Cruscor", though the name seems kinda like Gliscor.

Cool ideas, none the less.

For Cruscor, I was juggling around a few different names and spellings. It was a tie between Cruscor and Crusor. (Crusor mighta been more sensible, considering it follows the single "s" that Pinsir does.)

Also, I do play around a bit with pokemon cries.

This was the cry I spliced together from editing and splicing together Lugia's and Rampardos' cries.
http://media.putfile.com/LugiChomp2

I also managed to make Dialga's cry less disgusting and retarded:
http://media.putfile.com/Dialga-Neo

Rofl, this next piece is a kinda awesome piece I made. It's a song made of nothing but pieces of the Magnemite families' cries. I call it, the MagneMix:
http://media.putfile.com/The-Magnemix

woah, those sounds are awesome!
holy crap, could you try a dusknoir+feraligatr cry?
OH, BTW, if you made a song with alot of poekmon cries im sure you would become famous on the internets for making it =]

To be honest, I'm not gonna mess with cries anymore. They're boring and kinda taxing. :/

lolwut? well if you advertise it in your sig on some forums i know you will get alot of credit for it, because it is really great... if i had any battles to put on youtube i would use that, it would be a great song for a battle

Heh, I've not updated this thread in awhile. :)

My latest pic is of a Steelix I drew with a special purpose in mind for a project I'm doing. As you can see, it has been drawn with its pieces all separated. What is his exact purpose? I'm not gonna explain now, but for now we can enjoy him as I scouted tons of pictures of him to get his anatomy right. :(

That is the small version, reduced to 25% size. The full-sized version will be colored up and cleaned up tomorrow hopefully.

I'm guessing something involveing fossils as the steelx looks like bones?

Excellent, excellent work KoA. My favorite is probably your Jynx evo

@DwC: Yeah, you can use it, I don't mind. :)

As to what his purpose is, you'll all find out in the spriting thread hopefully in a few more days. :>

I'm glad someone bumped your art thread. I didn't know it was here. I like the pokemon stuff. That Mamoswine was damn good. Great foreshortening and curves on the tusks. I'm not into the hybrids, but they are very creative and well-rendered (Lugchomp was the best). I just prefer "pure" pokemon art.

BTW, I've also lurked on some of your stuff in the spriting thread. Like above, I'm not into fusions -- but your sprites over there are very well done, unlike a lot of the total crap in that thread. I'll never get into that thread because it's such a wasteland of garbage posts and artwork.

Keep up the great work!

Heh, the spriting thread has grown on me, though I mostly lurk in there now. I do give advice to help out everyone though.

The quality of the work there is slowly starting to improve, I'm proud.

And yeah, I'm not much for fusions either, that's why I prefer scratchwork.

Something I whipped up in my free time while trying to postpone chaos' pic. :(

I'm not overly fond of it, as I normally hate humanoid dragons, but it came out ok. I won't be doing much else with it though, so no color for him.

I hope I am allowed to bump my thread after so long!

I found a couple old pieces in my old art notebook from last year. I was proud of these at the time and still kinda am now.

This first one is a parody pic I made when PoR came out. I noticed there was an abnormally large amount of female enemies in this game. :o

It was hard fitting them all into a single piece of paper, so I scrunched them together and made it in the form of a TAG commercial. You can see where I grew bored of this pic and got lazy. You might not get this if you haven't played Portrait of Ruin or watched any Tag commercials.

This next one was an old self portrait I made. I was originally supposed to convey an emotion, so I chose fear. It wasn't until the next day that someone told me it looked like I was eating a large invisible hamburger that I really laughed at this:

These are great KoA. I particularly love the Pinsir and Obomasnow evolutions, though the Abomasnow one doesn't look that similar to me. Also, the Lugia/Garchomp hybrid is fantastic. The cry that you did for it is brilliant too. Very well done.

(Post may be a bit tl;dr so keep that in mind)

Tim uses Phoenix Down on Thread. Thread comes back to life!

K, so since I've gotten Woodman's sprites out of the way, I can devote some time to my other love of hand-drawn artwork. Though, I haven't physically drawn a new piece in about a couple weeks, I want to change this. ;o

So, I'll merely just post some pics I haven't added to this thread yet and take a request or two. This is my first post in my own thread since receiving my badge, so that should help it from feeling lost and abandoned.

Ok, for the CaP projects, I been actively participating by not only spriting, but creating designs as well. This has been done throughout all 3 so far, but only in the case of Revenankh were any of my designs chosen. ;D

So here's every sketch to date I've posted contributing to a CaP art poll starting with CaP 1:

CaP 1, the Bug/Ice type:

My design element for CaP 1 was a slender bodied bug of prey. It would be able to reach top speeds and have superior agility due to his body stature. Unfortunately, this design didn't advance beyond the first poll ;[
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/icebugsmall.png

CaP 2, the Ghost/Fight Pokemon:

Well, there were many many art submissions in this CaP, and I ran the gauntlet by submitting a buttload of ideas.

I broke the ice of the poll by first submitting this design of a possible Banette evo. Even thoughit was clear the pokemon was to be original being based off of no pre-evo, I whipped some up anyway to please the fanboys. However, this design was saved by Jesus:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/Banette-evo.png

Design number two was a mere remodel of design number one, only making him less religious looking:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/banetteevo.png

Design 3 was the final of the Banette evo ideas. It shows that the wooden handle it hangs from can be controlled as a weapon:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/bannevo.png

Design 4 took to heart an idea of a Ghost warrior that continues battling in its old armor. Though the end result came out rather Norse looking:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/ghostfight.png

Design 5 was the last of my entries in this particular CaP. Though not the crowd favorite at first, (It had just enough votes to slide into the second art poll, but was in the last place)it started shining in later art polls and eventually went on to win it all. This is the form of the pokemon we know as Revenankh. My main inspiration for him were the Gibdo enemies from the N64 Zelda games:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/mummra.png

Concept sketch of Revenankh not showing anything worthwhile aside from female "hair":
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/revenankh.png

Concept sketch of Revenankh Falcon-Punching for no reason at all but for being silly:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/falconpunch.png

Concept sketch of Revenankh's front pose for his sprite. (I sketch out every one of my pokemon sprites before spriting them.)

Sketch of Revenankh's back pose:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/backpose.png

CaP 3, the beast that is yet an unnamed Fire/Grass type:

CaP 3 was by far the recipient of the biggest influx of talented art and as such, I wanted in on it ;o. While none of my proposed ideas went on to win, this CaP was the single most important in my art development. It was the one to help me to break the final wall my art kept running into; color.

Design number one was a quirkier entry from me. Rather than trying to look tough and intimidating, it uses its charm and facial features to win you over. (not really, unfortunately :[ )Each mask represented a different emotion, which in turn reflected how the pokemon would act in battle:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/chilipeppers.png

Design 2 rather sucked. It's like a weird hybrid of a seedpod and a tree and is my most uninspired idea to date. Not hard to tell how this one went:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/seedpod.png

Design 3 was easily my favorite and I pushed for it alot. It's inspiration was drawn from the cockatrice of mythology. As such, it has incorporated features of a rooster and a reptile. This would have been a much stronger contender in the art polls were he colored sooner, but alas:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/cockatrice.png

Design 4 was a full evo line based off an echidna. Though the design isn't that complicated, I felt it had a certain charm to it:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/firegrass.png

Well, once Elagune's art was chosen for the design, I procrastinated until the sprite poll to work on his sprite pose sketches, but a little late is better than too late I suppose. This first sketch portrays him crouching down and showing off his bulk. The only thing that was wrong with it, (and eventually led to its failure as a sprite) was the head and the fact I accidentally drew it too horizontally proportioned. The latter issue caused many problems upon being resized for spriting purposes:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/gilaman.png

After the sprite of the above pose eventually died in motivation and support from myself, (And out of fear of losing to some of the higher quality sprites being submitted!) I went ahead and scrapped it for a better pose. This pose helps accentuate his bulk and also tries to portray as much of its body as possible. Its vertical/horizontal proportions were perfect too, so no trouble in resizing:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/newpose.png

Back sketch of Woodman. Due to woodman's complex backside, It was a huge hassle doing his backsketch and as a result, I did it in parts. Everything not drawn in was added manually in paint on the sprite:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/backsketch.png

And those are all my CaP designs thus far. I plan on contributing to every single CaP to come now and forever, so KoA will be a household name in those respective art threads. ;P

Colored Works

Now, I mentioned earlier that I recently plowed down the color wall that eluded my pictures so far, so I wanna show off my colored works I've done in the relatively small amount of time since CaP 3's art submissions.

My first colored pic was the fully evolved Echidna design from my CaP 3 entry:

The second to be colored was my Cockatrice, who was put up on the art poll, but not colored version, which killed it ever standing a chance. :manysadfacesinacemetary.:

For the "Art for Smogon" thread, I submitted a few pictures, one of which being the following, Chansey. I don't like this one particularly much, but hey, we all have some flops, eh?
Colored image:

Original Sketch:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/kingofanime/Art/Fairly Recent to New Art/chansey.png

My second entry in the Art for Smogon thread was a Milotic sketch for ADV. This is probably my second favorite colored piece as Milotic is actually kinda elegant despite being a 20 foot long vicious sea serpent. ;x

My third entry for the AfS thread was a Lapras for the RBY generation. Eventually, this pic earned me the badge I wear with pride today and naturally it sits as my favorite piece of art currently. ;P

And this is my gallery as of late! Like I said, I managed to free up a bit of time so I can take a few requests for the immediate future. Please specify whether or not you want your request to be colored or not. I can only handle one color request at a time, but I can handle quite a few b/w picture request at a time. These are combined too so I can do a colored request as well as like 3 noncolor sketches at once.

I only ask you give me a reasonable timeframe to do them in. ;x
