Third Challenge - Deal Or No Deal: Dealers & Donees
Buzzers?: No
Activity Type: This is a Mixed Timing game. Round One is Play By Post and Round Two is Live or Semi-Live.
Privacy Type: This is a Public challenge. All play will be done in the general channel and all results will be public.
This game consists of 26 identical virtual briefcases which contain varying cash amounts inside ranging from $0.01 to $1,000,000. The game is played publicly, though the various cash amounts are private until made relevant. Each competitor- in a first come, first served order- will select and open two briefcases, combining the cash amounts in their selected briefcases to obtain their score. A list of available cash amounts will be posted, pinned, and updated as each briefcase is opened.
After all 11 contestants have chosen and opened their briefcases and only 4 briefcases remain, the second round begins. The host will designate the top 4 scoring contestants as Dealers and the remaining contestants are all designated as Donees (as in a donor donates to a donee). Each Dealer will be offered a cash amount in exchange for letting a Donee of that Dealer’s choosing open a third briefcase. The Donee in question must be selected and publicly announced by the Dealer before the cash offer is made, including pinging the Donee in question. If a Dealer agrees to a deal, they add the offered cash amount to their score and the Donee in question selects one of the remaining briefcases and adds its cash amount to their own score. The second round and all information therein is public, including the remaining money amounts and the fact that the contestant rankings may change depending on the outcomes of the Dealers’ and Donees’ actions. The Dealer is allowed to listen to the opinions of fellow Dealers, alliances, and spectators before picking a Donee and/or deciding whether or not to take a deal.
The contestant with the lowest cash amount after the second round is a candidate for elimination and must select another contestant to go up against in a vote. The player who opens the $1,000,000 briefcase during the course of the game cannot be chosen as an elimination candidate. Ties for ranking and for candidacy are both broken by who had the lowest cash amount in a single briefcase. (Example: Smith and Jones both have $25,000. Smith has $20,000 + $5,000 and Jones has $10,000 + $15,000, which means Jones wins the tie. If this were a candidacy tie, Smith would be the elimination candidate.)
