[SET COMMENTS]

Thanks to its great Special Attack and offensive typing along with its access to Freeze-Dry, Kyurem is able to act as a tremendous wallbreaker with Choice Specs. Kyurem's natural bulk should also not be underestimated, as its unique typing and high HP stat allow it to check threats such as Rillaboom and Crawdaunt. Ice Beam is a consistent attack with great neutral coverage across the metagame, hitting Corviknight and Clefable for impressive damage. Freeze-Dry deters any Water-type Pokemon such as Toxapex and Slowbro from freely switching into Kyurem. Draco Meteor hits like a truck and is able to 2HKO any Pokemon that doesn't resist it, bar Blissey and specially defensive Tyranitar. Pokemon that resist Ice-type attacks such as Rotom-H are prime targets for Draco Meteor. Focus Blast, while less consistent, is the best option for the fourth move slot, as it nails Tyranitar and Blissey on the switch, 2HKOing the latter. This is why a Modest nature is the preferred nature over Timid, as the extra power is worth the loss in Speed. Earth Power, however, does provide Kyurem with a more consistent way to damage pesky Steel-types that can often check it; Aegislash and Jirachi are prime examples.

Kyurem is a flexible Pokemon, able to be utilized on both balance and offensive teams. If you're looking to use a balance team, entry hazard control is crucial for Kyurem to find success. Defoggers such as Corviknight and Mandibuzz have great synergy with Kyurem and should be considered when making a team. Bringing in Kyurem safely via VoltTurn or Teleport users is a great idea, making Zeraora, Rillaboom, and Clefable good teammates. Clefable gets a special mention, as the ability to pass Wish and pivot with Teleport allows Kyurem to stay healthy throughout the match. Kyurem can also be used effectively on offensive teams, where sweepers can capitalize on the holes it breaks. Dragapult is able to clean up weakened teams very effectively and can switch in on Fighting-type attacks aimed at Kyurem. Aqua Jet users such as Crawdaunt, Azumarill, and Urshifu-R can act as great teammates, as they match up well against Pokemon Kyurem struggles against, with examples being Blissey, Tyranitar, and Volcarona. In turn, Kyurem is able to check Rillaboom for them. Kyurem can also struggle with offensive Steel-types such as Scizor and Aegislash, so Volcarona can make for a good teammate.

[SET COMMENTS]

Due to Ice being a great offensive typing and the neutral coverage it provides, Kyurem is able to pull off this rather unique set. Thanks to its impressive bulk, Kyurem is able to create Substitutes that can't be broken by Seismic Toss with very little HP investment. The rest of the EVs are placed into Speed and Special Attack to hit as fast and as hard as possible. A Hasty nature is preferred, as the ability to set up fast Substitutes in order to avoid status effects is crucial to this set. This set allows Kyurem to turn the tables on usual switch-ins such as Blissey and Toxapex, as with Metronome, Kyurem's attacks get more powerful each turn. Heavy-Duty Boots is also a fair option to consider, as Kyurem is far less likely to be worn down by entry hazards with it. Unlike the last set, Pressure actually plays an important role for this set's success. With the combination of Substitute and Roost, Kyurem is able to easily stall out low-PP moves such as Close Combat and Stone Edge. Icicle Spear allows Kyurem to hit special walls such as Tyranitar and Blissey, which can easily sponge a Freeze-Dry from it. It also has the added benefit of breaking Substitutes, which can come into play in certain situations.

This Kyurem set should primarily be used on balance and defensive teams due its nature and how it should be played. Toxapex makes for an excellent partner, as it can check Aegislash and Scizor, which can give this set trouble. Toxapex can also provide Toxic Spikes support, which works wonderfully in conjunction with Kyurem's ability to stall. Speaking of entry hazards, Spikes users such as Ferrothorn and Skarmory work well with Kyurem's ability to force switches. Entry hazard control is crucial for this set, so Pokemon such as Excadrill and Corviknight are highly recommended. Status effects truly hamper Kyurem's ability to stall, so Heal Bell support could be very beneficial. A cleric such as Blissey, Togekiss, or Clefable comes to mind as great teammate for this set.

I'd say Focus Blast and Modest should be slashed first, as it allows Kyurem to 2HKO Blissey and gives it more firepower in general.

[SET COMMENTS]

Thanks to Kyurem's great special attack and offensive typing along with access to Freeze-dry, Kyurem is able to act as a tremendous wall breaker with Choice Specs. Kyurem's natural bulk should also not be underestimated, as it's unique typing and high HP stat allow it to check threats such as Rillaboom, Crawdaunt, and Zarude. Zarude is not listed on the viability rankings (yet), so it shouldn't be mentioned. Ice Beam is a consistent attack with great neutral coverage across the metagame. Mention some Ice Beam targets, like Clefable and Corviknight. Freeze-Dry deters any Water type Pokemon, such as Toxapex and Slowbro from freely switching into Kyurem. Draco Meteor hits like a truck, and is able to 2HKO any Pokemon that doesn't resist it bar Blissey and Chansey. Mention some Draco Meteor targets, like Volcarona and Rotom-H. Earth Power provides Kyurem with a way to damage pesky Steel types that can often check Kyurem. Aegislash and Scizor are prime examples, both of which take a decent chunk from Earth Power, the former being 2HKOed. Offensive Scizor, its main set, gets 2HKOed too, but you usually shouldn't stay in on it anyway so just remove this part I'd say. Focus Blast, while less consistent, is also an option for nailing Tyranitar and Blissey on the switch. Reorder this so you talk about Focus Blast first and then Earth Power. Magnezone should be mentioned as a target too. Also, talk about Modest vs Timid at the end of this paragraph.

Kyurem's primary role in the metagame is to act as a wall breaker. As such, pairing Kyurem with Pokemon that can capitalize on the holes created make for good team mates. Dragapult is able to clean up weakened team very effectively, and can switch in on Fighting type attacks aimed at Kyurem. Aqua Jet users such as Crawdaunt and Azumarill and Urshifu-R can act as great team mates, as they match up well with Pokemon Kyurem struggles against, examples being Blissey, Tyranitar, and Volcarona. In turn, Kyurem is able to check Rillaboom. Kyurem can also struggle with offensive Steel types such as Scizor and Aegislash, so Volcarona and Rotom-H could be a good teammate. Kyurem can also find a home on more defensive orientated teams. Call this balance and put this half of the paragraph first since balance is really the team style Choice Specs Kyurem fits best on. If this is the direction you're looking to go forward with, hazard control support is crucial for Kyurem to find success. Defog users such as Mandibuzz and Corviknight have great synergy with Kyurem, and should be considered when making a team.

VoltTurn/Teleport support to bring in Kyurem safely should be mentioned in this paragraph too.

Due to Ice being a great offensive typing, and the neutral coverage it provides, Kyurem is able to pull of this rather unique set. Thanks to it's impressive bulk, Kyurem is able to form Substitutes that can't be broken by Seismic Toss with very little EV investment. The rest of the EVs are placed into Speed and SpAtk, to hit as hard and as fast as possible. The Speed is mostly relevant for fast Substitutes I'd say. This set allows Kyurem to turn the tables on usual switch ins, such as Blissey and Toxapex, as with Metronome, Kyurem's attacks (when used contentiously I think you mean continuously?) get more powerful each turn. Heavy-Duty Boots is also a fair option to consider, as Kyurem is far less likely to be worn down by entry hazards. Unlike the last set, Pressure actually plays an important role for this set's success. With the combination of Substitute and Roost, Kyurem is able to easily stall out low PP moves, such as Close Combat and Stone Edge. Icicle Spear also has the added benefit of hitting Pokemon after breaking Substitute, which can come into play for certain situations.

This Kyurem set should primarily be used on balanced and defensive teams due to the nature of how this Kyurem should be played. Toxapex makes for an excellent partner, as it can check Aegislash, Urshifu, and Volcarona, which can give this set trouble. I don't see how Urshifu specifically poses a problem, Scizor is a better mention I'd say. Toxapex can also provide Toxic Spikes support, which work wonderfully in conjunction with Kyurem's ability to stall. Mention Spikes support from Skarmory or Ferrothorn too. Hazard control is crucial for this set, so Pokemon such as Excadrill and Corviknight are highly recommended. Status effects truly hamper Kyurem's ability to stall, so Heal Bell support could be very beneficial. A cleric such as Chansey Blissey, Togekiss or Clefable come to mind for great team mates for this set. Blissey is more relevant than Chansey, even on stall teams.

Draco Meteor hits like a truck, and is able to 2HKO any Pokemon that doesn't resist it bar Blissey and Chansey. If you mention blissey, you're implying that you can't touch chansey so you don't really need to mention both here; replace chansey with spdef ttar since that eats it like a champ Pokemon that resist Ice type attacks such as Rotom-H are prime targets for Draco Meteor. Focus Blast, while less consistent, is the best option for the 4th move slot, as it nails Tyranitar and Blissey on the switch, 2HKOing the latter. Earth Power however does provide Kyurem with a more consistent way to damage pesky Steel types that can often check Kyurem. Aegislash, Scizor, and Magnezone zone and scizor aren't particularly great examples given that neither are switching into blast to begin with + scizor not only takes more from blast, but also mostly finds itself on ho where kyurem really doesn't have a good matchup regardless so replace these two mentions with rachi are prime examples, all of which don't appreciate taking an Earth Power.

Kyurem is a flexible Pokemon, able to be ultilized on both balanced and offensive teams. If you're looking to use a balanced team, hazard control support is crucial for Kyurem to find success. Defog users such as Mandibuzz and Corviknight swap the order of these examples have great synergy with Kyurem, and should be considered when making a team. Bringing in Kyurem safely via Volt-turn or Teleport users is a great idea, making Rotom-H replace this w/ zera; you're getting better synergy out of the two and zera is a much more relevant mon in general and Rillaboom good teammates.
