[OVERVIEW]

Kyurem is a powerful hybrid between defense and offense that serves as a solid presence on many teams. Its ability to beat slower Pokemon like Primarina and Mega Mawile even if they have a type advantage against it helps it support teammates who are weak to Steel- and Fairy-types. It can win against strong anti-metagame Pokemon like Magnezone, Greninja, Aegislash, and Primarina, acting as a counter to setup offense utilizing Curse, Bulk Up, and Calm Mind, and it can PP stall the majority of offensive and defensive Pokemon that can't KO it. It is able to beat strong defensive Pokemon utilizing Counter, Mirror Coat, and Metal Burst, such as Mega Sableye, Mega Aggron, and Mega Swampert through the use of Pressure. However, it loses to common Pokemon in the metagame, such as Mega Charizard X and Y, Mega Lopunny, Tapu Lele, and Mega Metagross.

Moves
========

An Attack drop from Noble Roar is devastating to many Pokemon with super effective moves, such as Buzzwole's All-Out Pummeling, Golem's Continental Crush, and Choice Band Rhyperior's Rock Wrecker. The Special Attack drop allows Kyurem to deal with special hits from heavy hitters like Choice Scarf Porygon-Z, Fairium-Z Magearna, Primarina, and Calm Mind Tapu Fini. Roost is an obvious choice, because it is Kyurem's only form of recovery outside of Rest. Ice Beam is Kyurem's most reliable STAB move and allows it to OHKO many of the premier Ground-types in the metagame, like Zygarde-C, Landorus, Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Mega Garchomp, as well as Kartana, Haxorus, and Mega Pinsir. Earth Power is taken over a Dragon-type STAB move for the reason that it gives Kyurem a way to effectively and safely damage threats like Mega Aggron, Mega Mawile, Donphan, Magnezone, Heatran, Aegislash, Vicitini, and Darmanitan. It also allows for it to fish for Special Defense drops against Ferrothorn. Blizzard can be a viable alternative when running Icium Z, providing a stronger Z-Move than Ice Beam.

Set Details
========

Kyurem runs 224 HP EVs in addition to 136 Defense EVs with a Bold nature to weaken powerful super effective moves like Choice Scarf Garchomp's Outrage and Choice Band Kartana's Smart Strike or Sacred Sword and KO them in return with Ice Beam. The HP and Special Defense EVs allow Kyurem to take powerful special hits such as Magearna's Twinkle Tackle after a drop to Special Attack, Choice Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, and Tapu Fini's Moonblast. Groundium Z allows Kyurem to use Tectonic Rage, which can OHKO both formes of Diancie, frail Mega Metagross, Mega Mawile, Darmanitan, and Excadrill. Icium Z allows Kyurem to use Subzero Slammer to OHKO threats like Dragonite and slow Kommo-o. Normalium Z gives Kyurem a Defense boost from Noble Roar, which lets it take hits like Mega Mawile's Play Rough and Mega Heracross's Close Combat. Kyurem's ability Pressure allows it to efficiently PP stall the foe out of powerful moves such as Stone Edge and Hyper Beam. Groundium Z is the best item for Kyurem, because it allows it to check more threats than the other Z-Crystals do, such as Excadrill and both formes of Diancie.

Usage Tips
========

When using Normalium Z, in most matchups that you cannot win in one turn through an OHKO, you want to click Z-Noble Roar on the first turn. The exceptions to this rule include Mega Gyarados and Primarina. In these cases, use normal Noble Roar turn one so that against slow Gyarados, you will use the normal Noble Roar before the Taunt or Encore activates, in Primarina's case. When using Groundium Z or Icium Z, use Noble Roar in matchups you cannot OHKO or 2HKO safely. Against Pokemon that you can win against in one turn, such as Garchomp, do so by using Ice Beam, Earth Power, or their respective Z-Moves. Icium Z Kyurem cannot defeat Mega Mawile, so be careful when your opponent has a Mega Mawile, as Kyurem only acts as Mega Mawile bait when using Normalium Z or Groundium Z. Avoid sending Kyurem into Mega Charizard, Mega Lopunny and Mega Gyarados if using Icium Z or Groundium Z or Mega Metagross if using Normalium Z or Icium Z.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that beat Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X and Y, Mega Metagross, FEAR users, and Vivillon pair well with Kyurem; such as Tapu Lele or Deoxys-S carrying Taunt and Aegislash fill these roles quite well. Excadrill and Haxorus provide great support for Kyurem, scaring off threats like Mega Gardevoir and Mega Charizard X and Y. Mega Charizard X and Y make good teammates for Groundium Z Kyurem, as it can OHKO threats like Mega Diancie. Icium Z Kyurem pairs well with Pokemon like Landorus-T that can beat Mega Diancie and Mega Mawile. Kyurem pairs very well with Ground- and Steel-types that can take out its biggest threats such as Charizard, Mega Gardevoir, and Tapu Lele.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

A RestTalk full stall set allows Kyurem to beat other PP stallers and Toxic stallers but loses to all matchups Kyurem needs to use an attacking move in and instantly loses to Taunt. An offensive Z-Move set can OHKO threats like Dragonite, Quagsire, and Mega Altaria, but it isn't bulky enough to take big hits from heavy hitters like Porygon Z and Garchomp that it can't outspeed. A Choice Scarf can let Kyurem outspeed and OHKO Pokemon like Naganadel, Latios, and Charizard X, but its most powerful moves have drawbacks that make them unreliable for the 1v1 format, such as Draco Meteor's Special Attack drop and Blizzard's 70% accuracy. Lastly, a Choice Specs set hits very hard with Draco Meteor, Blizzard, and Focus Blast and is both moderately fast and bulky, but it can't take hits from faster Pokemon such as Garchomp, Haxorus, and Blacephalon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Mega Charizard**: Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y can OHKO Kyurem with Outrage and Blast Burn, respectively.

**Mega Venusaur**: Mega Venusaur beats Kyurem with Sludge Bomb poison, which has a 95% chance to happen over 8 uses.

**Toxic Stallers**: Kyurem doesn't deal enough damage to deal with Toxic stallers such as Blissey and Pyukumuku quickly.

**Fast Fighting- and Steel-types**: Mega Lopunny will OHKO Kyurem with the combination of Fake Out into High Jump Kick, and Bulky Mega Metagross counters all Kyurem sets; however, fast Mega Metagross can lose to Groundium Z Kyurem.

**Taunt Users**: Taunt users prevent Kyurem from using Noble Roar and Roost, forcing it to play offensively with its low-Base Power moves and uninvested Special Attack stat.

**Stat-Resetting Z-Move Users**: Pokemon such as Tapu Lele and Buginium Z Volcarona can reset their lowered stats with Z-Calm Mind and Z-Quiver Dance, allowing them to 2HKO Kyurem afterwards.

  • Z-Noble Roar is what makes Kyurem one of the better physical walls in the 1v1 metagame.
  • A drop to the foe's attack with an additional boost to Kyurem's defense is devastating to many slower Pokémon who have super effective moves, such as Mega Mawile's Play Rough, Conkelldur's Drain Punch or Super Power, Tyranitar and Golem's Rockium Z, Choice Band Rhyperior's Rock Wrecker, and Mega Heracross' (?)

  • Ice Beam also allows Kyurem to OHKO Kartana, Haxorus, and Mega Pinsir.
  • Earth Power is taken over a Dragon-type STAB move for the reason that it gives Kyurem a way to effectively and safely damage threats like Mega Aggron, Mega Mawile, Donphan, (Ice Beam deals with Donphan better) Magnezone, Heatran, Aegislash, Vicitini, and Darmanitan. It also allows for drop-fishing against Ferrothorn.

(Instead of giving three sections for the same EVs/moves with the variation being only in the item, in the first set, just make it item: Nornalium Z/Icium Z/Groundium Z, and mention that while Nornalium Z is the favorable item, Icium Z and Groundium Z beats whatever it does, to check redundancy)

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options

=============

  • RestTalk Full Stall - Loses matchups to offensive Pokémon and Taunt, but can PP Stall efficiently. Outclassed by Deoxys Speed and Pyukumuku.
  • Offensive Z Move - Not bulky or fast, but can deal significant damage with Dragonium Z, Icium Z, or Fightinium Z. Outclassed by Dragonite and Garchomp.
  • Choice Scarf - Doesn't hit hard enough outside of Draco Meteor and Blizzard to run Choice Scarf Efficiently, but outspeeds Choice Specs Naganadel and Greninja. Outclassed by Haxorus and Garchomp.
  • Choice Specs - Isn't fast enough to run Choice Specs efficiently, but can OHKO Dragonite if it survives. Outclassed by Greninja and Naganadel.
[There is nothing outright wrong with this section, but explaining what archetype of Pokemon it beats along with an example or two will help people understand why they could also run this Other Option. Also consider: other option with options to beat common things it loses to is usually more effective]

Checks and Counters

===================

Charizard: Both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y can OHKO Kyurem with Outrage and Blast Burn respectively.

Mimikyu: Mimikyu can outpace Kyurem with Swords Dance, and OHKO with Let's Snuggle Forever

Mega Venusaur: Mega Venusaur beats Kyurem with a Sludge Bomb poison.

Toxic Stallers: Kyurem doesn't have the damage to deal with Toxic Stallers quickly. (again, an example of a Toxic staller which beats Kyurem)

Mega Lopunny: Mega Lopunny will OHKO Kyurem with a combo of Fake Out into High Jump Kick (Instead of mentioning Mega Lopunny singularly, mention faster Fighting-type Pokemon, since Kyurem loses to Pokemon like Mega Medicham, Sawk, Mega Blaziken, Mega Lucario and max speed Mega Heracross as well)

Mega Metagross: Bulky Mega Metagross counters all Kyurem sets, but Fast Mega Metagross can lose to Groundium Z Kyurem

(Nothing about Taunt users?)
A Mature/ Amateur QC. Pretty good stuff you got there. Your analysis would be better, if you consider the changes I proposed.

Wrath of Alakazam, Ice Beam is actually not the optimal move to use against Donphan. Notice how I said efficiently or safely deal damage to Donphan. Ice Beam is not safe because it brings them to Sturdy, where they could Endeavor in to Ice Shard you, therefore Earth Power is to deal a safe amount of damage, then finish with Ice Beam. I will implement the other changes, but not the ones that would pertain to Ice Beam versus Golem and Donphan.

There's not a whole lot to say about this analysis, it's very good.

A few nitpicks though:
- Given your description for the Team Options, it might be worth mentioning that Kyurem pairs well with Steel- and/or Ground-types
- I'm not sure if Sludge Bomb Poison alone can be seen as a check
- Magearna is a counter right?

Just have a look at those

Really great analysis. Great job! Just a few things that could be improved upon:
A drop to the foe's attack is devastating to many slower Pokémon who have super effective moves, such as Conkelldur's Drain Punch or Superpower, Tyranitar and Golem's Rockium Z, and Choice Band Rhyperior's Rock Wrecker.
Some of these examples are fairly irrelevant (Conk, Rockium TTar). Some more notable examples might be Mega Tyranitar and Excadrill.
  • RestTalk Full Stall - Allows Kyurem to beat other PP Stallers and Toxic Stallers.
  • Offensive Z Move - Can OHKO threats like Dragonite, Quagsire and Mega Altaria.
  • Choice Scarf - Can outspeed and OHKO Pokémon like Naganadel, Latios, and Greninja.
  • Choice Specs - Hits very hard with Draco Meteor, Blizzard, and Focus Blast, and it both moderately fast and bulky.
Make sure to mention why these sets are less viable than the main set.

It also allows for drop-fishing against Ferrothorn. Blizzard can be a viable alternative when running Icium Z, allowing for a stronger Z move by 10 Base Power.

Kyurem runs 224 HP EVs in additon to 136 Defense EVs with a Bold nature to turn powerful super effective moves like Choice Scarf Garchomp Outrage and Choice Banded Kartana's Smart Strike or Sacred Sword and to return KO with Ice Beam. The HP and Special Defense EVs allow Kyurem to live powerful special hits such as Magearna's Twinkle Tackle after a drop to Special Attack, Scarf Porygon-Z's Hyper Beam, and Tapu Fini's Moonblast. Normalium Z gives Kyurem a defense boost, which lets it take hits like Mega Mawile's Play Rough and Mega Heracross' Close Combat. Kyurem's ability Pressure allows it to efficiently PP stall the foe out of powerful moves such as Stone Edge or Hyper Beam. Groundium Z is the best item for Kyurem, because it allows it to check more of its threats than the other Z Crystals do give some examples.

Usage Tips

========

When using Normalium Z, in most matchups that you cannot win in one turn through an OHKO, you want to click Z Noble Roar turn 1. The exceptions to this rule include Mega Gyarados and Primarina. In these cases, use normal Noble Roar turn 1 to outplay Taunt and Encore respectively I don't really understand what you mean by this,maybe phrase it better?. When using Groundium Z or Icium Z, use Noble Roar in matchups you cannot OHKO or 2HKO safely. For matchups that you can win in one turn like?, do so by using Ice Beam or Earth Power, or their respective Z-Moves. Icium Z Kyurem cannot defeat Mega Mawile, so be careful when your opponent has a Mega Mawile, as Kyurem only acts as Mega Mawile bait if using Groundium-Z or Normalium-Z. Avoid sending Kyurem into Mega Charizard, Mega Lopunny, and Mimikyu, and Mega Gyarados if using Icium Z or Groundium Z, or Mega Metagross if using Normalium Z or Icium Z you cannot defeat Metagross,Meteor Mash is a 2HKO,Tectonic Rage cannot OHKO and if you try to Noble Roar,non-mega Metagross will block you with Clear Body.

Pokémon that beat Mega Venusaur, both Mega Charizards, Mega Metagross, FEAR, Mimikyu and Vivillon I feel this sentence is incomplete.Add something and merge it with the next one. Pokémon like Tapu Lele or Deoxys-Speed carrying Taunt, and Aegislash fill these rolls quite well. Excadrill and Haxorus function as great supports for Kyurem, scaring off threats like Mimikyu and Mega Charizard. Both Mega Charizards make good teamates for Groundium Z Kyurem, as it can OHKO threats like Mega Diancie. Mimikyu is a solid partner as well, because Kyurem can check Mega Metagross and Excadrill and counter Mega Diancie. Icium Z Kyurem pairs well with Pokémon like Landorus-Therian that can beat Mega Diancie and Mega Mawile. Kyurem pairs very well with Ground and Steel-types that can take out its biggest threats like?.

Other Options

RestTalk Full Stall - Allows Kyurem to beat other PP Stallers and Toxic Stallers, but loses to all matchups Kyurem needs to use an attack move against, and instantly loses to taunt.
Offensive Z Move - Can OHKO threats like Dragonite, Quagsire and Mega Altaria, but isn't bulky enough to take big hits from heavy hitters like Porygon Z and Garchomp that it can't outspeed.
Choice Scarf - Can outspeed and OHKO Pokémon like Naganadel, Latios, and Charizard X, but its most powerful moves have drawbacks that make them unreliable for the 1v1 Format, such as Draco Meteor's Special Attack drop and Blizzard's 70% accuracy.
Choice Specs - Hits very hard with Draco Meteor, Blizzard, and Focus Blast, and is both moderately fast and bulky, but it can't take hits from faster Pokémon such as Garchomp, Haxorus, and Blacephalon.

Checks and Counters

Mega Charizard: Both Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y can OHKO Kyurem with Outrage and Blast Burn respectively.

Mimikyu: Mimikyu can outpace outpace? what do you mean with that Kyurem with Swords Dance, and OHKO with Let's Snuggle Forever

Mega Venusaur: Mega Venusaur beats Kyurem with a Sludge Bomb poison, which has a 95% chance to happen again what is this calculation based on?.

Toxic Stallers: Kyurem doesn't deal enough damage to deal with Toxic Stallers like? quickly.

Fast Fighting and Steel Types: Mega Lopunny will OHKO Kyurem with a combo of Fake Out into High Jump Kick, and Bulky Mega Metagross counters all Kyurem sets, but Fast Mega Metagross can lose to Groundium Z Kyurem.

Taunt Users: Taunt users prevent Kyurem from using Noble Roar and Roost, forcing it to play offensively, with its low base power moves and uninvested Special Attack stat.

Stat Resetting Z-Move Users: Pokémon such as Tapu Lele and Buginium Z Volcarona can reset their lowered stats with Z-Calm Mind and Z-Quiver Dance and succesfully 2HKO Kyurem afterwards.

motogp , 95% poison is based on the 70% chance to not poison to the 8th power (8 uses of Sludge Bomb) .7^8 is about .057, so there is a 94-95% chance to poison in 8 uses.

the most common Mega Metagross set at all Glicko-1 Ranges besides 1760 is 252Atk/4spd/252+Speed, which Z Earth Power has a 75% chance to OHKO 0 SpA Kyurem Tectonic Rage (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Metagross-Mega: 290-342 (96.3 - 113.6%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

I have finished the changes, and have added 'frail' to any instance of "Mega Metagross" where it is not found.
