[OVERVIEW]

Flying
========

Landorus is an incredible and versatile wallbreaker due to its ability Sheer Force, great offensive stats, solid natural bulk, and great complementary coverage. Its raw power allows it to check nearly every slower Pokemon bar Chansey. Landorus breaks Steel teams with ease for its teammates, OHKOing Skarmory with Focus Blast after Stealth Rock and 2HKOing bulky Mega Scizor with Earth Power. Its Speed tier allows it to threaten base 100 Pokemon such as offensive Volcarona and Manaphy; however, it is still easily revenge killed by faster threats such as Latios and Keldeo. Landorus's part Ground typing grants it an immunity to Electric attacks such as Raikou's Thunderbolt and Victini's Bolt Strike. However, it compounds Flying's natural weakness to Ice-type attackers such as Weavile, which folds Landorus with Ice Shard. While Landorus is a strong wallbreaker, using it comes at the opportunity cost of running Landorus-T, which is a better form of Speed control, can pivot with U-turn, and can take on threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric with its Choice Scarf set.

[SET COMMENTS]
Earth Power can be used on an array of different targets such as Sableye, Mega Garchomp, Clefable, and Mega Venusaur. Focus Blast pairs nicely with Earth Power to hit the Steel-types Earth Power cannot handle such as Skarmory while also covering Dark- and Normal-types such as Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Porygon2, and Staraptor. Knock Off allows Landorus to remove items such as Chansey's Eviolite, Tornadus-T's Assault Vest, and Bronzong's Leftovers. Rock Slide allows Landorus to OHKO Fire-type threats such as Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona, which can otherwise tank its attacks once. It, in tandem with Focus Blast, is also useful in the mirror matchup, letting Landorus break the core of Skarmory and Zapdos. Stealth Rock allows Landorus and its teammates to better take on foes such as Mega Charizard Y and Life Orb Kyurem-B. Due to its offensive prowess, Landorus forces a ton of switches, allowing it multiple opportunities to safely set up Stealth Rock throughout the match. Sheer Force in combination with Life Orb allows Landorus to hit with devastating power, OHKOing Staraptor after chip damage from Stealth Rock and 2HKOing bulky walls such as Mega Venusaur. Sheer Force also negates Life Orb's damage recoil. Maximum Special Attack and Speed investment alongside a Naive nature allows Landorus to outpace threats such as Hydreigon and Volcarona while not reducing the power of Knock Off. Additionally, Landorus can tank a single V-create from Choice Scarf Victini at full health and revenge kill it.

All of Landorus's teammates appreciate its ability to set Stealth Rock, provide a switch into Electric-type attacks, and remove items such as Latios's Choice Specs with Knock Off on the switch. Skarmory can switch into Ice-type attackers such as Mamoswine and Weavile for Landorus while also being able to sponge physical attacks from threats such as Terrakion and Mega Pinsir. Additionally, Skarmory can cripple foes such as Zapdos on the switch with Toxic, allowing Landorus to break them easier down the road. In return, Landorus can handle offensive threats that can overwhelm Skarmory such as Hydreigon and Kyurem-B. Tornadus-T acts as a special pivot thanks to Regenerator and Assault Vest allowing it to sponge special attacks such as Choice Specs Keldeo's Hydro Pump and Choice Specs Latios's Draco Meteor with ease. Additionally, it can safely pivot in Landorus with U-turn on forced switches as well as form a Knock Off core with Landorus. Zapdos is another special wall that can switch to alleviate Landorus's pressure to check faster Electric-type Pokemon, which often carry Hidden Power Ice, thanks to its Electric neutrality and access to Roost. It also provides Defog support, can weaken foes such as Wish Mega Gardevoir with Toxic, and can pivot Landorus in safely with Volt Switch. Mega Charizard Y forms the ultimate Steel-breaking core with Landorus, absolutely demolishing every Steel-type alongside it with Fire Blast and Focus Blast. Its ability Drought and coverage in Solar Beam also allow it to act as a soft check to offensive Water-types such as Keldeo. Mega Gyarados is a phenomenal setup sweeper and can clean through Psychic teams with Crunch or Ground teams with Waterfall. Additionally, it can prevent passive Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Staraptor, and Skarmory from clearing entry hazards with Taunt. Thundurus breaks through Ground, Water, and Flying teams with Grass Knot, Thunderbolt, and Hidden Power Ice. It becomes a phenomenal wallbreaker that is able to take on threats such as Zapdos after a Nasty Plot boost and Stealth Rock chip. Dragonite can break special walls such as Zapdos, Chansey, and Tyranitar with Outrage and Superpower as well as revenge kill boosted threats such as Volcarona, Mega Sharpedo, and Cloyster with Extreme Speed.

Hidden Power Ice can target Pokemon 4x weak to Ice such as opposing Landorus, Garchomp, Gliscor, and Dragonite.

Checks and Counters

Flying

**Ground-immune Pokemon**: Bulky Ground-immune Pokemon such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Mega Latias can easily tank any of Landorus's attacks, shrug off the damage with recovery, and retaliate with their own attacks. However, Zapdos and Tornadus-T cannot switch into Rock Slide.

**Special Walls**: Special walls, especially Chansey and Gastrodon, can easily tank any of Landorus's attacks. However, after its Eviolite is removed by Knock Off, Chansey is 2HKOed by Focus Blast.

**Revenge Killers**: Faster revenge killers with powerful STAB moves or super effective attacks such as Choice Specs Latios and Excadrill in sand can easily overwhelm Landorus.

**Status**: Toxic poison puts Landorus on a timer, preventing it from being able to wallbreak as effectively, while burns heavily weaken Knock Off and stack with Knock Off's Life Orb recoil.

Overview
- I think you can find a more relevant example than Serperior as a revenge killer. Keldeo works here.

Set comments
- I think Rock Slide is worth mention here. In addition to what you mentioned, it also lets Landorus break the Defog core of Skarm + Zapdos, which is great since Landorus is your primary hazard setter
- Bronzong is another relevant target for Knock Off because it’s the only Steel mon that reliably switches into Landorus otherwise

OO
- With Rock Slide removed, Hidden Power Ice is probably worth a mention here to OHKO things like opposing Landorus, Gliscor, Garchomp / Mega Garchomp.
- I’ll leave things like Sludge Wave to your discretion, probably not worth mentioning though

C&C
- I’d make Water-types a separate section, since pretty much every offensive Water-type can revenge kill Landorus, while SpDef Rotom-W, depending on the level of investment, and Gyarados switch into it. Replace the Water-type examples everywhere else accordingly.

Nice work, 1/2

While Landorus-T is a strong wallbreaker using it comes at the opportunity cost of running Landorus-T, which is a better form of Speed control, can create pivot momentum with U-turn, and can take on threats such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric with its Choice Scarf set.

All of Landorus's teammates appreciate its ability to set Stealth Rock, provide a switch into Electric-type attacks, and remove items such as Latias's Choice Scarf with Knock Off. Feel like none of your teammates are going to benefit a ton from Latias's Choice Scarf being knocked off since its naturally faster than most Flying-types. Getting rid of Latios's Choice Specs seems like a better example.

Checks and Counters
**Ground Immunities**: Bulky Ground immunities such as Zapdos, Tornadus-T, and Mega Latias can easily tank any of Landorus's attacks, shrug off the damage with Recover, and retaliate with their own attacks. I think you should briefly mention that Zapdos and Tornadus-T can't really switch into Rock Slide from Landorus.

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially Defensive walls especially Chansey and Gastrodon can easily tank any of Landorus's attacks. However, after its Eviolite is removed by Landorus's Knock Off, Chansey is 2HKO'd by Focus Blast.
