Landorus-T (QC 0/3) (GP 0/2)

[OVERVIEW]

  • Landorus-T has a good Attack stat, decent Speed, average bulk, and very useful ability in Intimidate.
  • Furthermore, its access to setup moves like Bulk Up and Swords Dance, and its ability to use Z Moves further enhances both its offensive and defensive capabilities.
  • All of these factors help it in KOing Fire-, Steel-, Poison-type Pokemon, as well as physical attackers like Mega Charizard X, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, Donphan and Garchomp.
  • Landorus-T's typing make it lose to Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, physically defensive Primarina, and Tapu Fini, and also to Ice-type coverage from Pokemon like Magnezone, Porygon-Z, and Dragonite.
  • In addition to this, its Speed and special bulk leaves it vulnerable to faster faster Choice Specs users like Naganadel and Greninja.
  • It also finds itself unable to break physical walls like Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku

Moves
========

  • Earthquake is the strongest Ground-type STAB move for Landorus-T, KOing Pokemon like Mega Charizard X, and Groundium Z converts it into Tectonic Rage which helps it secure the KO on many neutral targets like Mega Lopunny and Garchomp.
  • Bulk Up is useful to set up against physical attackers like Mega Charizard X, Donphan and Crustle.
  • Rock Tomb is the speed control measure in this set, letting Landorus-T slow down foes like non-Mega Charizard and Mega Pinsir.
  • Substitute is useful to block Toxic, Charm, Leech Seed and similar status moves from Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Chansey, and Blissey. It also helps in getting KOed by Metal Burst or Counter from Pokemon like Aggron and Donphan. It can also be used to tank slower foes which uses strong attacks, like Blast Burn from bulky Mega Charizard Y or Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny and Mega Pinsir.
  • Rest can also be used here as a very specific lure to status moves dependant Pokemon like Kee Berry Mew, Sleep Powder+Leech Seed Jumpluff, and Toxic users.
Set Details
========

  • 244 HP EVs, along with 228 Special Defense EVs, lets it tank a Draco Meteor from Modest Choice Specs Naganadel. This also lets it tank Hidden Power Ice from Modest Magnezone.
  • The HP EVs along with 16 Defense EVs, lets it tank Fake Out and Ice Punch from Intimidated Adamant Mega Lopunny .
  • 8 Speed EVs lets it outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon after a Rock Tomb like Mega Charizard X and Mega Gardevoir.
  • The remaining 12 EVs goes into Attack which, along with an Adamant nature, maximizes its damage output against defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur and Donphan.
Usage Tips
========

  • Against Charizard, use Substitute on the first turn, followed by Rock Tomb on the second turn. If it was Mega Charizard Y, follow it up with Rock Tomb; if it was Mega Charizard X, follow it up with Tectonic Rage.
  • Against Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan and Crustle, use Rock Tomb on the first turn both to avoid Counter damage and to break Sturdy. On the next turn, use Bulk Up if the foe is Donphan, or use the Z Move if the foe is Crustle. Against slower stall Pokemon like Chansey and Pyukumuku, use Substitute to block Toxic; then follow it up with a couple of Bulk Up against Chansey, or spam Bulk Up and Substitute against Pyukumuku. While Chansey can be killed by setting up on it, Pyukumuku has Unaware as its ability, so the Bulk Up and Substitute spam is to drain its Counter PP, after which you can proceed to attack it.
  • Against faster stall Pokemon like Mew and Deoxys-S, start by using Rock Tomb to make the foe slower than yourself, since these Pokemon usually have Taunt as well.
  • If you have Rest, use Rest after amply setting up Bulk Up against bulkier Pokemon or status-dependant Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Kee Berry Will-o-wisp Mew, and Chansey
  • Avoid sending it against Pokemon with super effective moves like Greninja Primarina, Choice Specs Magnezone and Pheromosa.
Team Options
========

Since Water-type Pokemon are its weakness, Electric-type Pokemon like Zeraora or Magnezone can be used alongside Landorus-T. They also appreciate Landorus-T taking out Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp, Donphan and Golem. Also some specially defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur could help support Landorus-T's mediocre special bulk. Powerful stallbreakers like Mega Gardevoir and Choice Specs Greninja can also benefit as Landorus-T's teammate, since Landorus-T does not handle stall very well. In this context, Mega Gardevoir can be used as a teammate, with its ability to beat Dragonite, Mega Gyarados and some Water-type Pokemon.

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, and Bulk Up, Curse and Coil users like Zygarde, Mega Scizor, and opposing Landorus-T. Bulk Up can also be used as another form of setup move which helps it in tanking physical attackers like Dragonite
  • Fly as Landorus-T's only Flying-type STAB move is a pretty decent move, but when coupled with Flyinium Z, makes it a devastating Supersonic Skystrike which KOes opponents like Mega Gyarados and Kommo-o after a Swords Dance.
  • Rock Tomb helps Landorus-T deal better with non-Mega Charizard
  • Bulldoze has better accuracy and deals more damage on Pokemon to break Substitute-using faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny.
  • Substitute is also an option which can be used to block passive damage moves like Toxic and Leech Seed,tanking ZMoves from slower Pokemon like Dragonite and also for blocking Counter and Metal Burst damage.
Set Details
========

  • 56 HP EVs, along with 236 Def EVs, allows Landorus-T to tank a Waterfall from Adamant Mega Gyarados. This also allows it to tank a Fake Out + Ice Punch from -1 Adamant Mega Lopunny
  • 180 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant max Speed Mega Gyarados.
  • Rest of the EVs are given into Attack along with an Adamant nature to give it a better chance against Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, physically defensive Mega Charizard X, Garchomp, and Durant.
Usage Tips
========

  • When you are up against Charizard, start off by using Substitute if you have it, followed by Rock Tomb on the following turn and finish with use Supersonic Skystrike.
  • Against Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan and Crustle, use Rock Tomb on the first turn both to avoid Counter damage and to break Sturdy. On the next turn, use Swords Dance or Bulk Up, followed by the Z Move.
  • Against faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny, Mew or Deoxys-S, start by using Bulldoze to make the foe slower than yourself. If you are up against Mega Lopunny, immediately use Supersonic Skystrike. But if you are up against stall Pokemon like Will-o-wisp Mew or stall Deoxys-S, use Bulldoze till you become faster than it, and then start setting up Bulk Up till it uses Taunt against you. Till the Taunt wears off, keep using your Bulldoze and/or Rock Tomb. Continue this till you get into KO range, and then finish off with Z-Move.
  • Avoid sending it against special attackers like Primarina and Magnezone; especially faster Pokemon like Greninja and Naganadel.
Team Options
========

  • Since this set lures Mega Gyarados, that usually counters Landorus-T, some teammates which are weak to it, like Dragonite or Greninja are good teammates. Here, Dragonite is a better teammate, since it can counter most Choice items users like Naganadel, Greninja and Porygon-Z, which usually beats Landorus-T.
  • Electric-type Pokemon like Zeraora or Magnezone can be used alongside Landorus-T to take care of its Water-type weakness. They also appreciate Landorus-T taking out Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp and Donphan, and also Kommo-O.
  • Also some specially defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur or Aegislash could help support Landorus-T's mediocre special bulk.
  • Powerful stallbreakers like Mega Gardevoir and Choice Specs Greninja can also benefit as Landorus-T's teammate, since Landorus-T does not handle stall very well. In this context, Mega Gardevoir can be used as a teammate, with its ability to beat Dragonite, Magnezone and some Water-type Pokemon with Calm Mind / Hyper Beam /Hidden Power Ground / Icy Wind.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • An Adamant Choice Scarf Landorus-T with Earthquake / Hidden Power Ice / Superpower / Stone Edge to lure the mirror matchup, Choice Specs Naganadel, Choice Specs Greninja, and Choice Scarf Porygon Z can be used, but it does not have the firepower to kill anything more than the specific set of Pokemon it is designed to beat.
  • An Assault Vest can be slapped on it along with Earthquake / Rock Tomb / Outrage / Superpower along with 252 HP / 92 Def / 156 SpD / 8 Spe EVs with an Adamant Nature to special attackers like special Dragonite, Porygon-Z, Naganadel, and Magnezone. But, this works more as a niche lure set and fails to kill anything that it is not specifically built to counter.
Checks and Counters
===================
  • **Super-effective attacks and coverage moves** Landorus-T's typing make it lose to Water-type Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, physically defensive Primarina, and Tapu Fini, and also to Ice-type coverage from Pokemon like Magnezone, Porygon-Z, and Pheromosa, unless especially EVd to tank these attacks.
  • **Faster status-using Pokemon** Landorus-T has an average speed tier, which makes it a target for faster Pokemon like Whimsicott, Jumpluff and Mega Gengar to use either Sleep Powder and then Leech Seed, or use Hypnosis and suck out any hope of winning coz ban sleep (xd)
  • **Physical Walls** It also finds itself unable to break physical walls like Mega Slowbro, Type: Null, and Pyukumuku

[OVERVIEW]

  • Landorus-T has a good Attack stat, decent Speed, average bulk, and very useful ability in Intimidate. I would consider expanding this as this does not say much, I would go on how its ability helps with physical mons like Metagross (not all run Ice Punch), Garchomp and Mega Lopunny.
  • Furthermore, its access to setup moves like Bulk Up and Swords Dance, and its ability to use Z Moves further enhances both its offensive and defensive capabilities. I know this is in the bullet stage, but the first three sentences of this goes together and can be combined.
  • All of these factors help it in KOing Fire-, Steel-, Poison-type Pokemon, as well as physical attackers like Mega Charizard X, Magearna, Mega Venusaur, Donphan and Garchomp. Combine this point to the one before it as it is the same thought.
  • I would also add a bullet somewhere about what it outpaces.
  • It also finds itself unable to break physical walls like Mega Slowbro and Pyukumuku Why cant it break these walls, elaborate more like because of Iron Defense for Mega Slowbro and Unaware for Pykumuku. However, I would take out Pyukumuku, its like C rank and have not seen it in the tour sence in forever, up the actual QC tho.
  • These last three lines read very awkwardly, so I would advertise rewording it.

I would only mention Chansey here as Blissey is a mon I have not seen in forever, also reorder this to match the status move like Blissey / Mew Chansey and Mega Venusuar It also helps in getting KOed by Metal Burst or Counter from Pokemon like Aggron and Donphan. It can also be used to tank slower foes which uses strong attacks that are required to recover for one turn, like Blast Burn from bulky Mega Charizard Y or Giga Impact from Mega Lopunny and Mega Pinsir.
  • Rest can also be used here as a very specific lure to status moves dependant Pokemon like Kee Berry Mew, Sleep Powder+Leech Seed Jumpluff, and Toxic users. No, this is not used at all, maybe put it in oo as Landorus-T does not have room for it + its really useless for a lot of matchups
Set Details

  • 244 HP EVs, along with 228 Special Defense EVs, lets it tank a Draco Meteor from Modest Choice Specs Naganadel. This also lets it tank Hidden Power Ice from Modest Magnezone.

Usage Tips
========

  • Against Charizard, use Substitute on the first turn, followed by Rock Tomb on the second turn. If it was Mega Charizard Y, follow it up with Rock Tomb; if it was Mega Charizard X, follow it up with Tectonic Rage. What else is this useful for?
This is really really hard for me to read and understand, and English is my first language so I would tone it down on wording and make the bulky Pokemon like Chansey and Pyukumuku its own bullet point. Maybe add how you should not send it out against Mega Slowbro and Mega Venusaur as you will lose against them.
  • Against faster stall Pokemon like Mew and Deoxys-S, start by using Rock Tomb to make the foe slower than yourself, since these Pokemon usually have Taunt as well. Yes while this can be true, if any of these are running 1 attack move you are dead and Deo-S would be at least at +2. I would mention that as I am unfamiler with the common stall mew set, I think it usually has toss or Psychic as an attacking move and can slowly wear it down.
  • If you have Rest, use Rest after amply setting up Bulk Up against bulkier Pokemon or status-dependant Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, Kee Berry Will-o-wisp Mew, and Chansey No. I do not think Rest should be here at all in the main set.
  • Avoid sending it against Pokemon with super effective moves like Greninja Primarina, Choice Specs Magnezone and Pheromosa. Why, is there some type of oh idk Ice-type move that OHKOs Landorus-T? The reader will be confused with the latter two without some type of mention of this. Also replace Magnezone with Genesect, more better in terms of Ice-type coverage.
Team Options

Since Water-type Pokemon such as?are its ok the user is not gonna know what its is. I know this is more of a GP thing, but in a new section its better to start with Landorus-T weakness, Electric-type Pokemon like Zeraora or Magnezone can be used alongside Landorus-T. They also appreciate Landorus-T taking out Ground-type Pokemon like Garchomp, Donphan and Golem. Also some specially defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur could help support Landorus-T's mediocre special bulk. What does Mega Venusuar help against and what does Landorus-T do in return. I would also rewrite this sentence because it did not make sense at the first when I read it. Something that Mega Venusaur helps against is Genesect, a big threat that OHKOs Landorus-T. Powerful stallbreakers like Mega Gardevoir and Choice Specs Greninja can also benefit as Landorus-T's teammate, since Landorus-T does not handle stall very well. In this context, Mega Gardevoir can be used as a teammate, with its ability to beat Dragonite, Mega Gyarados and some Water-type Pokemon. what water-types and mention what Lando-T can do in return.

Put this in bullets.

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance can be used to set up against Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, and Bulk Up, Curse and Coil users like Zygarde, Mega Scizor, and opposing Landorus-T. Bulk Up can also be used as another form of setup move which helps it in tanking physical attackers like Dragonite I think this is an incomplete sentence, idk but it would be worthwhile to add other things it can tank because of the defense boost.
  • Fly as Landorus-T's only Flying-type STAB move is a pretty decent move, but when coupled with Flyinium Z, makes it a devastating Supersonic Skystrike which KOes opponents like Mega Gyarados and Kommo-o after a Swords Dance.
  • Rock Tomb helps Landorus-T deal better with non-Mega Charizard And for what else? I would think it would help against Fire-types like Volcarona and Dragonite.
  • I think Stone Edge could go here as well as it helps with max def zards, but make a note about losing to Jumpluff
  • Bulldoze has better accuracy and deals more damage on Pokemon to break Substitute-using faster Pokemon like Mega Lopunny.
  • Feel the same way about Earthquake, as Bulldoze makes it harder against Magearna.
  • Substitute is also an option which can be used to block passive damage moves like Toxic and Leech Seed from?,tanking ZMoves from slower Pokemon like Dragonite and also for blocking Counter and Metal Burst damage. Blocking Counter and Metal Burst damage from what, mention some Pokemon.
Set Details
========

  • 56 HP EVs, along with 236 Def EVs, allows Landorus-T to tank a Waterfall from Adamant Mega Gyarados. This also allows it to tank a Fake Out + Ice Punch from -1 Adamant Mega Lopunny
  • 180 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant max Speed Mega Gyarados. mention another mon here
  • Rest of the EVs are given into Attack along with an Adamant nature to give it a better chance against Pokemon like Mega Gyarados, you mention this in the lines above, no need to do it a third time. physically defensive Mega Charizard X, Garchomp, and Durant.
Usage Tips
========

  • When you are up against Charizard, start off by using Substitute if you have it, followed by Rock Tomb on the following turn and finish with use Supersonic Skystrike. Reword this to finish off both Charizard forms.
  • Against Sturdy Pokemon like Donphan, Aggron and Crustle, use Rock Tomb on the first turn both to avoid Counter damage and to break Sturdy. On the next turn, use Swords Dance or Bulk Up, followed by the Z Move. Flyium Z.
I think you still lose against Mew, and Stall Deoxys-S can win if it opts for an attacking move or a status move.
  • Avoid sending it against special attackers like Primarina and Magnezone; especially faster Pokemon like Greninja and Naganadel.
Team Options
========

  • Since this set lures Mega Gyarados, that usually counters Landorus-T, some teammates which are weak to it, like Dragonite or Greninja are good teammates. • Also some specially defensive Pokemon like Mega Venusaur or Aegislash could help support Landorus-T's mediocre special bulk. What pokemon helps does these help against, I would think off the bat that saur helps with Genesect and Tapu Fini.

  • I am iffy on both of these tbh, I would add Rockium Z here and maybe Rest.

Do not mention oo right here. I would seperate this to Water-type and Ice-type coverage.
  • Mention Faster Pokemon that can threaten Landorus-T like Naga and Zeraoa (mixed set is really on the rise rn)
  • **Faster status-using Pokemon** Landorus-T has an average speed tier, which makes it a target for faster Pokemon like Whimsicott, Jumpluff and Mega Gengar to use either Sleep Powder and then Leech Seed, or use Hypnosis and suck out any hope of winning coz ban sleep (xd) I would sperate this a bit more because Whimsi does not get Sleep Powder and Gengar dont get the former.
  • **Physical Walls** It also finds itself unable to break physical walls like Mega Slowbro, Type: Null, and Pyukumuku why can't Landorus-T beat this, expand on this.

Overall, this analysis needs a lot of work and has a lot of GP issues that I had to avoid myself to correct since that is not the job of the QC to do.
