Psychic
========
- At first glance, Latias may seem like an underwhelming pick for Psychic teams--its power is lacking compared to Psychic's other attackers, its typing doesn't help against tough matchups, and it appears to be completely outclassed by Pokemon like Latios.
- However, Latias has a niche on Psychic teams as the type's arguably best hazard removal due to its access to Defog.
- This, combined with its decent 90/80/130 bulk and an useful ability in Levitate that not only gives it immunity to Ground moves, but also to all hazards except Stealth Rock, makes it a strong choice on teams looking to increase their longevity against types such as Bug, Steel, and Poison that like to set hazards.
- Defog also gets rid of screens, making it a good choice against types like Fairy and Electric that often use a screens-oriented team.

[SET COMMENTS]
Paragraph 1:
- This set provides strong hazard removal for Psychic teams via Defog.
- Draco Meteor provides good damage output; Latias is not too concerned about the stat drop, as this set is not offensively oriented.
- Psyshock hits Blissey, Chansey, and Assault Vest users harder, while Psychic is better damage overall; however, Psychic should only be run on teams with good physical damage output.
- Healing Wish can help patch up a crucial attacker that is at low HP, with Choice Scarf allowing Latias to nearly always use the move.
- A Timid nature plus a Choice Scarf lets it outspeed the entire unboosted metagame bar Regieleki, as well as outspeeding any Choice Scarf users with a base speed of at most 120, such as Alakazam, Zygarde-10%, and Gengar.
Paragraph 2:
- Although all Pokemon appreciate hazard removal, frail Pokemon such as Indeedee and Gallade that often cannot afford to take chip damage especially like it, as well as Pokemon like Victini that are weak to Stealth Rock.
- Victini and Gallade also help against Steel, Bug, and (in the case of Gallade) Dark types, three tough types for Latias to break through.

Psychic
--------
- Although Roost can be run to heal Latias in a pinch, Latias doesn't like sacrificing another move for it. Also, it is a horrible move to be locked into.
- Leftovers are generally worse than a Choice Scarf because a Choice Scarf lets it get a Defog off faster than practically every hazard setter, as well as act as bulky speed control. However, if speed control is not needed, and the team has sufficient support to remove or nullify hazard setters before Defogging (as otherwise they can simply come back in and set the hazards back up), Leftovers can be run, as Latias doesn't like being locked into moves and appreciates the passive recovery
- An offensive Calm Mind set can be used but is totally outclassed by Latios.

Psychic
--------
- Defiant/Competitive Users: Pokemon running Defiant or Competitive can come in against Defog and gain a +2 stat boost. Bisharp and Galarian Zapdos are notable users of this, with Bisharp being a major threat due to its typing.
- Steel-types: Steel-types with good SpD such as Ferrothorn and Aegislash can comfortably tank both of Latias's attacks and revenge kill it or punish the switch.
- Dark, Bug, and Fairy types: All three of these types can hit Latias super effectively, with Dark being immune to Psyshock/Psychic and Fairy being immune to Draco Meteor. Dragon types are not a major threat as Latias can usually do major damage to them with Draco Meteor
- Taunt Grimmsnarl and Whismicott: Both these Pokemon can anticipate a Defog or Healing Wish and Taunt Latias, forcing it to switch out or use Struggle (Note that since Latias is not grounded, Psychic Terrain will not protect from this). Grimmsnarl is a major threat due to being immune to both of Latias's attacks, as well as being able to set up screens in Latias's face.
