[OVERVIEW]
Dragon
========
* Latios is the best option for revenge killing on Dragon teams thanks to its high Special Attack and incredible Speed.
* It learns Defog, which allows Latios to remove Stealth Rock and other entry hazards, which is valuable because of the many Dragon-types that are weak to Rock, like Kyurem-B, Dragonite, and Salamence.
* Latios learns Surf, which hits some of its checks like Heatran, Psychic to hit Poison- and Fighting-types, and Draco Meteor, which does immense damage to most targets.
* Latios has a valuable immunity to Ground-type moves and Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Sticky Web because of Levitate.
* Latios is faster than any other Dragon-type, making it vital against other Dragon teams, and it is the only viable Dragon-type that outspeeds Magearna after a Shift Gear with a Choice Scarf.
* However, Latios's Psychic typing means that it is weak to Ghost and Dark, offering nothing to Dragon teams.
* Latios can't break through most specially defensive walls that Latios can't hit super effectively.
* Latios also has a mediocre Defense stat, which leaves it vulnerable to physical priority moves.

Moves
========
* Draco Meteor is Latios's strongest STAB move and best tool for revenge killing, although it lowers Special Attack by two stages.
* Psychic is a solid STAB move and is used over Psyshock because the extra power from Psychic helps Latios revenge kill much more reliably.
* Defog is used to remove entry hazards for teammates that are vulnerable to them, like Dragonite and Kyurem-B.
* Trick can be used to cripple walls such as Jirachi and the Normal-type core of Chansey and Porygon2, both of which hate losing their Eviolite.
* Surf is an option instead of Trick to hit some foes that normally switch into Latios, like Heatran and Gliscor.
Set Details
========
* Maximum Special Attack investment allows Latios to deal as much damage as it can.
* Maximum Speed investment, a Timid nature, and a Choice Scarf let Latios outspeed every unboosted Pokemon in the tier as well as most Choice Scarf users, notably Keldeo and Excadrill.
* Levitate allows Latios to switch into Ground-type attacks and gain momentum.
Usage Tips
========
* Latios is best used to revenge kill threats to Dragon teams, such as Kyurem-B and Mega Charizard X.
* Latios should use Defog to remove entry hazards, but be careful of opposing Pokemon like Mimikyu that can set up Swords Dance on a Latios Choice-locked into Defog.
* When a wall is expected to switch into Latios like Chansey or Zapdos, use Trick to replace its item with a Choice Scarf and cripple it for the rest of the game. However, don't use Trick unless Latios doesn't need its Choice Scarf to revenge kill anything for the rest of the game.
* Latios can also use Trick on foes that you expect to use a status or utility move that turn, like Heatran setting Stealth Rock.
* Because of the multitude of resistances proved by Dragon-typing, Latios has many opportunities to use Defog. It can Defog when a foe is Choice-locked into a move that Latios resists, like Victini locked into V-Create. Latios can also Defog on foes that it forces out, like Mega Venusaur, or walls that can't do anything back to Latios, like Mantine. Hard switching into Stealth Rock setters like Garchomp and Nidoking and forcing them out also gives Latios an opportunity to use Defog. However, Latios will be gradually chipped if it switches into attacks from the likes of Mega Charizard Y too often.
* Latios is essentially forced to switch out after using Draco Meteor, which lowers its Special Attack by two stages. Because of this, Latios can be set up on by sweepers like Mega Scizor and Mew.
* Also, be careful of locking Latios into Draco Meteor when there are Fairy-types or Psychic when there are Dark-types on the opposing team, as Latios will be forced to switch out and thus lose momentum.
Team Options
========
* Latios removes entry hazards with Defog for Dragonite, which greatly appreciates having its Multiscale intact. It also revenge kills Pokemon that could revenge kill Dragonite like Kyurem-B. In return, Dragonite breaks through most Pokemon that wall Latios, like Chansey.
* Salamence appreciates Latios's ability to handle faster threats like Tapu Koko and remove hazards because of its weakness to Stealth Rock, which can prevent it from using Dragon Dance and sweeping.
* Kyurem-B punches holes into opposing teams and eliminates walls like Zapdos and Mantine so Latios can sweep. In return, Latios removes Stealth Rock for Kyurem-B, deals with the Fighting-types that threaten it like Keldeo, and revenge kills faster threats.
* Dragalge is neutral to Fairy and can eliminate most Fairy-types with Adaptability-boosted Sludge Wave. In return, Latios handles faster Pokemon that threaten out Dragalge, resists Psychic, and is immune to Ground because of Levitate.
* Hydreigon resists Dark and Ghost and can remove Steel-types that switch into Latios with Fire Blast. In return, Latios resists Fighting and revenge kills Fighting-types with Psychic.
* Garchomp is able to break through Steel teams with a combination of Ground STAB moves and Fire Blast, and it sets Stealth Rock to damage foes upon switching in as well as breaking Sturdy or Focus Sash. Latios revenge kills faster foes that would KO Garchomp.
* Latias also learns Defog which allows Latios to use another coverage move, and it learns Healing Wish to heal Latios and allow it to sweep.

Other Options
=============
Dragon
--------
* Life Orb or Choice Specs can be used to make Latios deal much more damage, but its role as a revenge killer is usually too important to pass up.
* Life Orb sets can use Hidden Power Fire to hit Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Skarmory.
* Psyshock can be used over Psychic to essentially become a mixed attacker; however, Psyshock is incredibly weak without Life Orb and should not be used on Choice Scarf sets because it inhibits Latios's revenge killing ability.
* Roost is also an option to heal Life Orb's recoil and give Latios a lot more longevity throughout the game; however, this requires it to forgo a coverage move.
* Ice Beam can be used to hit targets like Togekiss, Tapu Bulu, and Gliscor, while Thunderbolt can be used to hit Tapu Fini, Mantine, and Azumarill. However, both of these moves require Latios to forgo one of its other moves.
Checks and Counters
===================
Dragon
--------
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types like Magearna and Clefable can switch into Latios easily and can threaten it out with a Fairy-type STAB move.
**Specially Defensive Walls**: Mantine can switch into Latios even with Stealth Rock up and can whittle it down with Toxic, Jirachi can damage Latios with Iron Head, and Tapu Fini threatens to KO it with Moonblast.
**Chansey**: Chansey can switch into all of Latios's moves and gradually KO it with Seismic Toss and Toxic. However, Trick causes Chansey to lose its Eviolite and locks it into a move, crippling Chansey for the rest of the game.
**Dark-types**: Dark-types like Tyranitar and Sharpedo are immune to Psychic and the former takes minimal damage from Latios's other moves; however, Draco Meteor OHKOes Sharpedo.
**Pursuit Trappers**: Tyranitar, Alolan Muk, and Mega Aerodactyl can all Pursuit trap Latios and either KO or severely weaken it.
**Steel-types**: Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Heatran can all switch into Latios, and Mega Scizor can set up Swords Dance against it. However, Heatran can be 2HKOed by Surf.
