League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

i've stopped following the LCS because it's like following collegiate basketball when the NBA is on

this has summed up my feelings about LCS in a sentence

i would recommend watching C9's games against any of last season's top 4 teams, though. C9 vs TSM was actually pretty entertaining to watch (moreso than the stompfest that has been OGN Spring lately)

Ugh this game...

Every time I play my teammates just screw up. Feeding all the time, they always get caught out later on and I can't carry even though I win lane every time.

Can't even get out of Bronze V because of all this crap, whatever I'm done with this game.

There are tons of great players near the top of the solo queue ladder that aren't on professional teams; just because they aren't well known does not mean they aren't as good or better than the professional players.

this isn't what I was wondering

He casually played in a few Go4LoLs and won them with his team, but never went pro because apparently their top laner was too young. Later on, he became friends with WildTurtle (who was C9's former ADC) and subbed for them a few times. Since C9 needed a jungler, Meteos joined the team permanently, and eventually helped the team take first at MLG Winter back in March. He was pretty unknown before then.

this was

CLG tends to pick up names I've heard of, I was equally interested in how Dignitas arrived at the decision of picking up KiWiKiD

testimonials: i quit LeL and am happier for it

I hope nobody takes UncleSam's post seriously, because its actually proven false. Korean and Chinese teams aren't better than NA or EU teams because they are better at solo queue, they are better because they work better as a team. Just because a player has a higher solo queue rating (which doesn't even necessarily correlate with higher skill, for example that proxy singed shitter, azingy, and other such 1 trick ponies who can never play in a torunament because they have a champion pool of 2) than another doesn't mean that he will be better in a tournament than the other player. For example, dyrus has played infinitely better than Pobelter (both players used in UncleSam's example) in tournaments and even dumpstered him head to head in ipl 5 (although technically regi was vs pobelter in lane, but regis solo queue rating is even lower so the point is reinforced). Faker made a bunch of great plays in The Champions Spring (he is a very high rated solo queue player), but his team still lost because he ws simply not as good of a player in a tournament setting (which is all that matters) as the other mid players like ambition, rapidstar, etc.

Tl, dr: solo queue means close to nothing after a certain point, a lot of people who have high solo queue ratings are shit in tournaments and vice versa. The players the fans picked for NA/EU all star teams didn't lose because they are worse solo queue players than the Korean/Chinese players, they lost because their teamwork, strategies, communication, and decision making is worse.

Teamwork is pretty much the key to win. There's pretty much no way that someone can 1v5, heck, 2v5. The moment that a couple of players aren't working right, you're pretty much screwed.

I can tell you why Kennen, Fiddle, and Amumu did.

trash tier team doesn't have Blitz / Sona / Alistar, not even nidalee come on man

On some champs (e.g fiddlesticks) Flash is mandatory IMO. But ya most of the cast don't need Flash though I take it every time just cuz I feel more comfortable with using it to killsteal ppl and making them angry.

Anyways Aatrox has been out for a few days. Anyone got impressions/thoughts after playing with/against him?

Haven't bought Aatrox yet but I've played him on PBE and I've faced against him a few times in Normals. He seems alright - not too dominant and not too weak. There seems to be a rather large group of people who complain about his kit (sustain/manaless/revive passive, mostly), but I feel like Aatrox has a lot of weaknesses holding him back that people love to gloss over (substantial health costs, absurdly low base HP, being a pseudo melee carry, and his Q being a very high risk/reward move). I could see Aatrox being very annoying in lane (his W hurts a lot early and the sustain is substantial) but may struggle in teamfights unless you can land good Qs - especially if you force his Blood Well early.

Just my first impressions on him. Idk where he'll go from here but I'd love to see his item builds evolve and people figuring out the right balance between damage/bulk/sustain.
