I could be wrong but as Shyvana jungle I usually found the best methodology was to play tank anyway with one dps item (Feral Flare most of the time but bork or hydra works).

Against something like Jax / Yi / fed adc you could do Randuins / Thornmail / Sunfire for your "defensive" core assuming Kayle was extremely underfarmed. Though Thornmail doesnt really counter bork it is fairly effective against AA champs. But like Jebus said - if youre more dps Shyvana expect to die faster in teamfights versus those champions.

Oh minor disclaimer - take what I say with a grain of salt. Never was a fan of farm jungles and I rarely play Shyvana because I like having control of lanes. This is why I play champs like J4 jungle.

All stars has been absolutely awesome so far. The Urf match was fun as hell, Bjergsen went HAM, the French crowd is wonderful, and the games have been very exciting (especially C9 vs. Fnatic, which was one of the best games I've seen in a while).

piglet and faker have this great balance at all-stars; one of them has a sloppy game and the other one is there to carry the team. That kill onto Cyanide followed by the Baron steal singlehandedly won SKT the game against Fnatic.

yeah that play was straight bonkers, faker always has the presence of mind to make the perfect play. he will occasionally get too cocky and die because of it though, if he was just a little more conservative sometimes he would be pretty much a flawless player :/

at least other regions used to pull up a fight o_O (ozone derping, gambit...) but the gap is getting bigger and bigger

It's because outside of IEM and All-Stars there's barely any international tournaments, EU/NA barely gets any experience against asian teams.
+The best korean teams don't even participate in those usually.

It's pretty scary to see how strong the top 8 korean teams are compared to the top 8 in the west.

Thankfully NA looks like it taking steps in the right direction though.

Taking steps in the right direction by taking their players

Pretty much, though I've heard that some NA teams are hiring more Korean-esque manager teams, which really is a good thing.

Meanwhile EU (my own scene) is looking pretty unhealthy :x

I wish they would hold large international competitions (say 128 team draws) because frankly, like the majors in tennis, there's no better way to get the best in the world playing at the peak of their abilities than having them have to go out and win 5 best-of-3's against world class competition. Whenever there are token international competitions they tend to be complete farces (All-Stars is run so poorly...) or really uninteresting/have 3-4 good teams and a bunch of no-name regional teams. I'd like to see if CLG could beat the sixth best team in Korea, I'd like to see Alliance take on Curse, I'd like to see anything other than game after game of the same eight teams playing within their own region week after week. It simply isn't interesting anymore (nor was it ever, honestly...)

Not saying I don't love this idea, because I do, but how would housing work? Do the teams that play a certain week fly around the globe, or are all the games played online? How would ping work in that case? Even in single elimination format, there would be 127 matches played, more than in a single LCS split, meaning that the overall timeframe for this event is also around 3 months. If it's round robin, there would be over 10,000 games.

One format that would work is to divide everyone into, say, groups of 5-6, and have round robins be played there. But this again raises the question of how and where you play these matches - do you expect teams to live close to the other teams in their group so they're ready to play whenever and wherever? If this only works temporarily, this means that we have to go through the groups sequentially - that is, group A is week 1, group B is week 2, etc - but then this raises patch issues, where a team is only successful during a specific period of time.

IPL5 (aka The Greatest League Tournament In History) only had 16 teams, and featured 22 matches on Day 1. It was double elimination. The only way you're going to get to see the international matchups you want is in round robin format, which frankly doesn't seem possible for a huge pool of teams.
