Secret Boss Mod

Ledian struggles to separate itself from the pack of Baton Pass users, particularly Mawile and Beedrill, largely due in part to its abysmal attacking stats. However, on Baton Pass chains, Ledian has a few perks that warrant a closer inspection. The biggest things it has are Early Bird and Safeguard, allowing it to switch into Grass-types with impunity (even if they use Sleep Powder) and safely continue the chain without worry of status ruining the strategy. Combine this with a practical immunity to Fighting-type moves and an actual immunity to Ground, and Ledian can be a star member of the chain under the right circumstances. Just don't let its adorable little punching mitts fool you into thinking it can actually harm anything itself.

name: Swords Dance + Baton Pass
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Baton Pass
move 3: Substitute
move 4: Safeguard / Agility
item: Leftovers
ability: Early Bird
nature: Jolly
evs: 152 HP / 104 SpD / 252 Spe

- Swords Dance is the most important thing Ledian is passing. Ledian has great type synergy with Rock-types if you desire to use it to short pass, particularly Rain Dance Relicanth
- Substitute provides a buffer and protects the chain from attacks/status
- Safeguard really sets Ledian apart from Beedrill, fully protects the chain from status should keeping a Sub up not be an option
- Agility also a good secondary setup option should it be needed as a backup

- EV spread maximizes Ledian's special defense in 256 EVs, max Speed to make use of Ledian's Speed tier
- A Berry can be used in the item slot if desired
- Light Screen or Reflect can be used in the last slot as well
- Typical BP chain members needed, Ariados, Huntail, Plusle

[Other Options]
- Refresh
- Thief
- Ledian has a decent attacking movepool but you're kidding yourself if you use it

[Checks and Counters]
- Roar Wailord, Piloswine, Flareon, Tropius
- Anything that hits it super effectively, Rock-type moves
- Mawile, Intimidate
